UK Deal Roundup for May 8th, 2012

The best of the UK prices

Written by punkyliar on 08 May 12 at 11:01

The lean spell continues as only one retailer starts a decent-sized sale. Shopto starts their Rain Dance Deals. Zavvi continues with the long-running random offers and is the only retailer with a discount code this week. There are no new points promotions; in fact, HMV’s long-running Pure Points promotion has also come to an end. As for weekly deals, those belong to GAME, Gamestation and Shopto.

As usual you need to click on the name of the retailer or the name of the deal to be taken straight to the retailer’s offer page. Further details on the deals, including the best pick of the sale items, can be found in the ‘details here’ link, which will take you back to the relevant UK deal roundup that described the sale in more detail. Clicking on the name of a game will take you to the achievement list. All prices were correct at the time of writing.

To start off the new and weekly offers of this period, GAME’s Deals of the Week and Gamestation’s Steals of the Week continue. The only deal worth mentioning is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for £27.99. GAME’s extra incentive added on to their Deals of the Week is still 400 MSP for just £1.75 if a buyer purchases any of the Xbox 360 deals of the week.

Shopto’s Weekly Specials only see UFC Undisputed 3 at £20.86. However, their Hot Deals see The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim at £24.85, Rise of Nightmares at £7.85 and The Sims 3 Pets at £8.86.

Shopto has also started a series of Rain Dance Deals, which seem fittingly appropriate for the weather that I’ve got at the moment. This is the list of bargains:
Battlefield 3 - £24.85
Binary Domain - £11.86
Dance Central - £9.85
Dead Rising - £4.85
DiRT - £8.86
Driver: San Francisco - £9.85
Fable III - £7.85
Fight Night Round 4 - £9.85
GoldenEye 007: Reloaded - £14.86
Grand Slam Tennis 2 - £15.85
Just Dance 3 - £15.85
The King of Fighters XII - £6.85
Mass Effect 3 - £19.85
Metro 2033 - £5.86
Need for Speed: SHIFT 2: Unleashed - £9.85
Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 - £19.85
Portal 2 - £14.86
Race Driver: GRID Reloaded - £8.86
Ridge Racer Unbounded - £19.85
Sonic Free Riders - £12.85
Street Fighter x Tekken - £29.86
Test Drive Unlimited - £9.85
• Venom VX Comms Headset - £6.85

TheHut has started an Assassin’s Creed promotion. There are a few of the franchise’s titles included, but those that can’t be found anywhere else for less are Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Classics Edition for £9.95, http://www.trueachievements.com/AC-Revelations-xbox-360.htm for £14.95 and http://www.trueachievements.com/AC-Revelations-xbox-360.htm Ottoman Edition for £19.95.

Zavvi’s first random offer of the week still sees 10% off pre-orders of the Spec Ops: The Line and Apocalypse Now / Apocalypse Now Redux blu-ray bundle when the code SPECOPSG is entered at the checkout. We also still have a list of random cheap games – links to these are in the prices for this list:
Final Fantasy XIII-2£11.95
LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean£19.95
Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure Starter Pack – £37.95
SoulCalibur V£24.95
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13£23.85

Here are the continuing sales:
Amazon’s Xbox 360 Bargains
Base’s offer where buyers can get two games for £25

Spyro: Skylanders could be cheaper. :/
It's amazing how bits of plastic cost about 75p/$1 to make, yet get sold for £9/$11!

Excellent round up as always.

I'm wondering however if you're flogging a dead horse by repeatedly listing the "Amazon Bargains" - they always seem to be Guitar Hero 5, Crackdown 2 (neither are particularly well priced) and an out of stock wireless adaptor.
