While the manatees have been hard at work choosing the twenty or so cutaway moments for each and every episode of Family Guy
, it has now been revealed that the team at Fox has paired with Activision in releasing a video game intended for consoles this fall. The game, officially titled http://www.trueachievements.com/Family-Guy-Back-to-the-....htm
, promises to adhere to the humor and characters of the television series. Though not many details are known. executive VP of Activision David Oxford had this to say in regards to the upcoming game:
Fans of Family Guy will love that we’ve taken some of the series’ most iconic and memorable moments and built them into an impressive and uncensored video game. Anyone who watches the show will appreciate how much we have adhered to its rich and twisted universe and characters.
The game will continue on one of the series' most popular episodes, "Road to the Multiverse", in which Stewie and Brian encounter multiple different incarnations of themselves en route to finding their way to their home universe. It sounds like it leaves a lot of room to make a fun video game, given all the different aesthetics you can work with. In the show we saw things like the Disney
universe and the dog universe. I'd bet a video game universe is in the works.
It's not yet known if Seth MacFarlane and his staff are overseeing the project like the creators of South Park
are with their upcoming game. We do know, however, that all of the series' actors will be lending their voices to the game. The lack of details beyond that leaves us asking the most important question of all: You like popsicles?
What kind of game is it?
A game announced this close to E3 usually means we can expect to see more at the expo in just a few weeks. Keep it here with TA as we head toward the game's fall 2012 release date.
