I'll probably enjoy the game, the only problem I have is what they've done with Dante, not the game itself.
I'll still probably give the game a go, still one of my favourite series' after all.
This character looks like a winner though. |

| dont care how much they shake this up or what they've done to it, if it plays the same then im buying day 1. hopefully she will be useful instead of a dam liability, i dont want this to turn into knights contract. |

^^ minus the fact that Trip's character was extremely well done. Considering helping her was the premise of the game, maybe you should have just not played it if it annoyed you.
As far as I'm concerned, this game looks 10x better than the previous DMC's... and I still don't understand how people are raging over the character design. So far as to act like they are iffy about buying the game because of a character swap.

| Ive played and enjoyed all 4 devil may crys (2 not so much but still an ok game) and a change to the series isnt always a bad thing could turn out very good.As long as the gameplay is still there and the story is interesting i dont really care if its not the same dante itll still be a devil may cry game and as long as its better than 2 ill be happy. |

DA agree with the gameplay. I think it looks pretty damn sweet.
As for games that annoy me. I rarely play anything that doesn't. Simply because I love bad games. Not saying Enslaved was bad, not whatsoever. But it depends from how you look at it. Trips character could have been so much more. While the premise of the game was about helping her, I hated the fact I couldn't go from a certain distance from her without having the headband kill me. Especially when it came to orb hunting on Mission 5. Then, at certain times when she was fully capable of moving, you had to carry her place to place.
The game could have been much better. Much more. While I liked it, I expected more from it. It was one of the few games I started for fun. Which rarely happens, trust me.
Same with Pigsy's DLC. Now that was horrible. |

Pathetic.See, I think one of the main appeals of the original DMCs was the anime style combat mixed with a gothic art style. Now, not only have they made the characters actually anime, they've followed the anime "Main character isn't capable of being on their own" character development scheme. It's kind of a tired cliche in anime where they have some younger kids who are incredibly talented but have to answer to a higher authority (either at school or in a secret society) and revolves around everyone wondering when the main character is going to match their mentor. Then we get a showdown between the main character and the head of the order.
I mean being part of an order even detracts from part of Dante's character. He was always a lone operator. Remember DMC2?
I don't mind the art direction really, I'm coming to terms with it. I even like anime. But just because I like anime and I like DMC doesn't mean that I want them fused together like this. That said, I am going to get it, probably day 1 because DMC is possibly my favorite game of all time* and this is looking to have everything (gameplay, humor, one liners and even character personality) that the previous games had, just with a diiferent look.
*I wish there was an achievement for completing DMD mode in DMC1 with just your starting sword and yellow orbs. It's an adrenaline junkie's wet dream and you should try it. |

.In my opinion Trip is one of the greatest and fully-devloped female game characters there has ever been. Enslaved was more about the releationship between Trip & Monkey which made the game great. Trip occasionally got herself into trouble but she was not once useless.
New character looks good, not too busty and a lil' attitude to play with, looking forward to it! |
