It's supposed to be a challenge, not a breeze. Though I will admit that the numbers they were expecting were slightly ridiculous.
As for OP, sounds reasonable. I think we can do this one if I can pull away from max payne's multiplayer. :) |

| Pretty easy challenge. I have three characters at level 18 right now. Won't take much effort to have them all at level 20 and ready to promote on Saturday. |

| If that "Special Circumstance" holds true for all of those who do Geth Gold runs on Firebase White (myself included)...that is going to fudge up a lot of things for a lot of people. Especially since I heard they are rebalancing the Geth on Gold, along with some weapons as well. Looking forward towards the challenge. |
Let's get it done |

The community didn't meet the challenge because gamers are either playing the ME3 campaign...or another game. No one bought ME3 for the multiplayer. It's tacked on, and if it wasn't a requirement for a few achievements, even fewer TAers would have stayed logged on for more than a couple matches.
If Bioware had devoted the time spent on mp to improving and fine-tuning the campaign, we'd likely have a better ME3.

#whatcouldhavebeenActually they just made last challenge a crazy number on purpose so we would fail.
It's a storyline reason to bring in the new dlc.
This article leaves out this:
"The Reapers are targeting our training centers, and your mission is to draw their fire and attention. Put them on the defensive! Buy us time, and the reinforcements in training will soon back you up."
Last challenge also had a hint at the new DLC. |

#whatcouldhavebeenI actually wasn't at all interested in ME3 till I played the multiplayer demo. This may surprise you, but some people actually have different opinions about things. |

#whatcouldhavebeenI totally disagree here. I think the multiplayer has great depth and customization options. While no one may have bought Mass Effect 3 for the multiplayer, it's certainly making me stay with it longer than I would have.
I actually wish MORE of the achievements were MP focused.

Last challenge also had a hint at the new DLC.We actually spoke about the "heavily-hinted" new DLC in the story surrounding the last N7 weekend:
This task is an onerous one, and many of you are right to dread contact with these particular foes, but rest assured that we are prepared to reinforce your battalion with reserves. The vorcha want in, and as soon as they complete combined-arms training with our technically-skilled personnel, we will let them loose.
The vorcha want in... very interesting especially given the whispers (i.e. unverified rumors) that more Mass Effect 3 multiplayer DLC is on the way and set to introduce Vorcha (and "Phoenix") as playable species. |

#whatcouldhavebeenAgreed. By the time I had all the MP achievements it had gotten very boring. Like most hardcore fans true to the series we were in it for the campaign. MP was great for adding kills, boosting different class' powers and obtaining that MP only Defender achievement but I won't be playing this until more achievements get tacked on with future DLC. Besides, hate banshees. |

#whatcouldhavebeenAs someone who's spent alot of time playing the multiplayer, I agree with you. I couldn't even be bothered to fire up the game for the last challenge. The different classes are fun to experiment with (though it takes a long time to get all of them thanks to their rediculous unlock system), but there aren't enough maps even with the dlc, at least half the player base still don't seem to understand how to play a team-based objective game (admittedly not the devs fault), and there are still bugs left over from the beta.
What made the first two Mass Effect games great was storytelling and choice, and while the third game certainly had it's moments (Tuchanka, Rannoch) if they dedicated more time and effort to those elements and less to desperately seeking the mainstream shooter crowd, then I think the third game would've been the epic finale the fans were expecting. |

The multiplayer in this game fell apart pretty quickly. I personally haven't played in weeks and don't plan on doing so for a while, possibly at all. I have every non N7 gun at 10, every character, etc. There's no incentive for me to play anymore. It's just not quite fun enough or addicting enough to warrant putting it back in my tray.
I expect to see plenty of failed challenges from here on out, except for this one. |
