Zone of the Enders HD Opening Cinematic

Zone of the Enders HD Opening Cinematic

History repeats with ZoE and Metal Gear demos!

Written by Dog of Thunder on 01 June 12 at 13:05

Konami decided, as usual, to get the E3 hype train started early by releasing some very cool new videos regarding Zone of the Enders HD Collection. First up, here's Hideo Kojima discussing the original games and what they have done to bring these forgotten classics forward for a new generation.

As deftly introduced by Mr. Kojima himself, here's the brand new opening cinematic for Zone of the Enders HD Collection.

That just screams decade old anime doesn't it? I had a Toonami flashback watching that cinematic.

When the first Zone of the Enders was released for the PS2, it included a playable demo of perhaps the most anticipated game of that generation: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. It only makes sense that the ultimate possible blast from the past is including early access to a demo of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for everyone that purchases a copy of Zone of the Enders HD Collection.

Metal Gear Solid Rising: Revengeance demo available with Zone of the Enders HD Collection purchase

History repeats, except this time the demo will eventually be available to everyone. That is the magic of the digital age we live in now, as back in my day, we had to load up a separate disc with the Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty demo.

Re-live two of this Newshound's favorite games from the last generation of gaming this Holiday season. Can't wait? Make sure you check out our past coverage, including the special edition available in Japan on October 25th.

Don't think this is my type of game, but I certainly enjoyed the opening theme.

I played both two-three years ago when browsing/playing older games. I enjoyed what I played of them. Problem for me is there are too many games I want to play, not enough time...or money!

Dog of Thunder - Just finished the craziest Warmachine game ever. 4v4, then 3v2, then 2v1, and I somehow won.

Even though I remember this game being fairly short, it was also fairly AWESOME. Loved this game back in the day, and I am actually excited about playing it on the 360.

A mech 3d beat em up?I played and beat only the first one back in the PS2 days, but I remember it fondly as one of the more awesome games of the time. In brief, it's a lot like, hmmm, like a 3D story driven more ass kicking mega-man....Play through missions, defeat enemies and bosses in a fast-paced ariel friendly control-scheme, destroy lots of stuff while gaining new abilities from fallen foes to help make further minced meat of your unlucky cannon-fodder foes. very stylish and fun. Would DEFINITELY reccomend to anyone who never got a chance to try back in the day.

ok, this was definitely the one of the three Konami HD collections I was most hyped for... and ironically, whereas the others are the BIG NAME titles and seem to have been subject to pretty slapdash and thoughtless assemblage, this relatively minor title (deserving as it is of more love) gets some actual effort put into it.
