Screens added for viewing pleasure!

Written by Ashley Woodcock (Dat Boi Treezy) on 04 June 12 at 22:03 , updated on 04 June 12 at 22:03

Soldiers fighting the war in http://www.trueachievements.com/Battlefield-3-xbox-360.htm will already be fully aware of the upcoming DLC Packs from DICE's first person shooter. Freshly announced at E3, Battlefield 3 Premium will give purchasers two weeks early access to the upcoming DLC packs including, Close Quarters, "Armored Kill", "Aftermath", and "End Game". For any future buyers of Battlefield 3: Premium, the Back to Karkand DLC will also be included in this pack.

Motorcycles will make an appearance in the upcoming "End Game" DLC and they make up just one of over ten new vehicles players will get to check out in the upcoming DLC packs. Over twenty new weapons will also be available alongside new customisation options for Dog Tags, Camo Kits, and the weapons themselves. New game modes and new assignments are also lined up and ready to be completed.

Check out the official announcement trailer for the Premium pack, just in case you missed it:

The action in the trailer is pretty rapid. If you blinked while watching it, you would have missed some of the sweet visuals from upcoming maps and new vehicles. Take a good long look at some of these gorgeous screenshots of the upcoming DLC features:

In addition to the E3 news, the scheduled patch for Battlefield 3 has gone live today. In order "for the full features of Battlefield 3 Premium to take effect", you must download the mentioned update, which you can right here. Players can purchase the Premium pack for 4000 MSP right now, but please take note of the warning within the pack's description:

Battlefield 3™ Premium includes expansion packs Back to Karkand, Close Quarters, Armored Kill, End Game, and Expansion Pack #5. If you buy Battlefield 3™ Premium, these should be accessed through the in-game store and NOT DOWNLOADED FROM Xbox LIVE Marketplace or you will be charged twice

Overpriced, waste of money. I already own Karkand, I'd be losing money if I fell for this. I didn't get Call of Duty ELITE for 10 bucks less, I sure as hell won't get this.

Doesn't seem like such a good deal for everyone who bought back to karkand already.

Don't know if buy.

Well... I'll probably end up getting all of these packs anyways, so I might just get the Premium deal and save a few bucks, assuming $15/1200MSP per DLC.

Yeah, I'm wondering if all of the DLC packs will be 1200msp. If so, BF3 Premium is a steal.

Normally I'd say this is a complete waste of money, like I did with Elite. But It'll cost less than buying all the DLC seperate, even though I got B2K for free.
If at first you don't succeed; Call it version 1.0

all the dlc will be 1600 according to their website. youre saving 7.50 if you already have karkand and you get 2 weeks early access. if youre still playing BF3 now, youre a diehard and youre going to buy the packs anyways. premium is a deal because youre playing it now versus playing it a year from now when they put the DLC as DotW
Posted on 04 June 12 at 21:26
as long as its not recurring annual chargewise, tho lets be honest the true pricepoint of most big name games these days is ultimately $100+ when its all said and done

What does 1200 MSP equal? (As each pack will be 1200) I believe the answer is $15.

Now if you own the first I'll leave out multiplying and then subtracting because that may be too hard for you.

Now what is $15*4? I believe the answer is $60. Now that is 4800 MSP as opposed to 4000 if you pre-buy them all.

Will I pre-buy them all probably but it's because I have extra cash to spend on DLC to get it at a discounted rate.

Try not to let all your stupid spew out so early in the week.

This is a decent money saver, but will be waiting since I am not in a BF3 mood right now. Also to see about the reviews for the other DLC.

Can someone explain to me why EA always do their own ingame stores?
Ontopic: I think its pretty sad to see, that people consider something like this a good deal.
OK, these bundles cost less than all the DLCs seperate, but what do you get: 20 Maps, a few game modes and vehicles. For the cost of a full new game. Come to think, what effort and money it costs to make a new game, with Gameplay mechanics, Art Design, Engine developing, Balancing, Campaign, Story, manufacturing and shipping, retailer margins, ... . Damn this premium stuff has an extremely huge profit margin. Think about games 10 years ago: Skilled fans could make really good maps for games in a rather short period, so how hard can it be for professionals. I'm ok, if expansions have a bit higher profit margins than actual games, but when the DLCs excel the main game cost while offering less content than it is too much.
So really: Don't buy DLC, unless it has a good content/price relation and don't compare it to CoD DLC, compare it to what a new game offers.
If you are a completionist like me: Don't ever buy games new! Wait, how much DLC they cram out, if there is a GOTY edition and when you think the full package is worth the overall asking price then buy it.
Don't fall for all these marketing campaigns. You don't need all the latest games, even if the ads say you do. Always think about: They will always borderline the maximum amount they can possibly charge, until you say: No, I'm not buying it anymore. Rather make this point now.
