Long time Devil May Cry
fans have had troubles coming to grips with the direction of the series reboot, DmC: Devil May Cry
. Namely, the look of the game's fabled protagonist, Dante. Although his look has been cleansed
a bit compared to the game's announcement
, the black haired teenager has had troubles winning supporters.
Dante's attitude is on full display here, and I'm not entirely sure the trailer will change anyone's perception of him. He's described as "a young man who has no respect for authority or society in general." The gameplay and level design though, may make you a true believer of the title.
While this entry is headed up by some new blood with developer Ninja Theory
, key members that worked on the franchise previously are on board to ensure that this fits in the Devil May Cry
universe. DmC promises to be heavy on action and story alike.
A facet of this story will be an organization called The Order. This group is made up a small group of freedom fighters with a mysterious leader set to rid the human world of demons. The Order is well armed in their battle against demons, whether it be physical force or intelligence. They need one more piece of of the puzzle though, and that's Dante. He certainly isn't human, but doesn't have affiliation with demons that have tormented him his entire life. Acquiring him for their cause is everything they need, that is, if Dante will cooperate.
Personally, I was actually in the small camp of people who liked
the new look of Dante. I have to say though, his overly careless attitude in this trailer was a bit oft-putting. Regardless, this is looking to be one of the most anticipated titles of next year. DmC: Devil May Cry
decides to avoid the crowded holiday season by releasing on January 15th. Save those gift cards from your stocking!
