Retro City Rampage Screens Released

Retro City Rampage Screens Released

These screens have a bigger file size than the games they're paying tribute to

Written by Matrarch on 05 June 12 at 20:51

Information has been trickling out about vBlank's Retro City Rampage for some time now. In fact, it's been just about a year and a half since the game was announced for XBLA with a Summer 2011 launch window.

Of course, that time has come and passed, and we've come to learn quite a bit about the title, such as the inclusion of a gueast star or two. We've also seen numerous screens and a couple of trailers.

Today brings us a couple new screens, as well as several details about Retro City Rampage.

1200MSP is fair enough. Honestly, I've been waiting so long I don't care how much it will cost me, I just want it already!

I had this down as 800 max. Oh well, Summer was looking crammed with XBLA games anyway. Shame.

Game looks amazing. Thoughtful and creative. Will try the demo, but seems well worth 1200 spacebucks to me.

Just to add my usual two cents / pennies / MSP.

To everyone who immediately states '1200? WAH WAH, NO CHANCE'; I can't stand you.

1200 is fair.

Quality has a price. Can't wait to play.

Was hoping for 800, definitely would have bought for that. At 1200, it looks amazing, but I'm going for the demo first to try gameplay before deciding purchase or sale.

Agreed.

To BattleJuice and the rest of the 'gtfo' brigade, be sure to enjoy 'Mr. Brown shoots the Brown #17 XTREME' and its cavalcade of sequels while those willing to take a risk on truly inventive games reap the benefits. I just hope enough people lay down money for left-field titles like Retro City Rampage to keep developers desperate to try something a little different in business.

I rarely purchase 1200 point games (The most recent were Castlevania HD and Comic Jumper... years ago). This looks like another game I'll have to make an exception for.
