Useful info on the Bass DLC that I posted to the earlier thread:
From the RS forums, the price is rumored to be $30 (2400 MSP) for the bass expansion for those that already have the game. Personally, I think 1600 MSP or less would have been more equitable since it will be included in the updated version this October.

Here is the Bass FAQ from the official site:
I already own Rocksmith™. How can I get the new bass content? Bass content will be made available as DLC on September 4, 2012.
I don’t own Rocksmith yet… How do I get the new bass content? You have options! If you buy a copy of the game now for your favorite console, you will be able to purchase the expansion for bass on September 4. There is also an updated retail version coming October 16 which will feature bass content on the disc, and for the first time ever, on PC!
Which songs will I be able to play using a bass? You will be able to play bass for the 53 songs on the disc that feature Bass mode. Bass arrangements will also be added for all those supported previously released as DLC.
Will I need to repurchase past DLC to play them with bass? No! The new bass content will add arrangements for all previously purchased DLC. |

I was just wondering if anyone has played this and the 'pro mode' on RB3? Also, what would you say is better for learning the guitar? I know you have to have the 'pro guitar' for RB3 and you can use any guitar for RockSmith, I would just would like someones opinion.
If you do not own this game, wouldn't it be more beneficial to just wait another month and get the bass dlc for effectively, free? |

| I play bass currently and I would love to learn more, but I’m not sure if I’m going to pick this up... I’m trying to get my completion up, not destroy it! Any idea on if it will be able to be used to get the current achievements, or of it is going to be another set of achievements? |

So, if they put the price back up to the original $80 for the updated version, it's a wash.
EDIT: Amazon has the "Guitar and Bass" version up for pre-order for $80. So, if the rumor that the DLC is $30 is true, it is a wash right now.
I have both the Squier and the Mustang guitars for RB3 and I much prefer playing Rocksmith. My other guitars are better quality, have better intonation and are easier to play. I think RS is a better learning tool too. It supports a wider range of techniques. |

| I know this is kind of off topic but how hard is this game? I played guitar for a number of years and could play a variety of trivium songs, lots of muse etc. and would say i was a relatively good player. what is the hardest setting like on this? is it difficult?? 1000g possible? |

They need better songs on disc for these games. They always put classic rock and boring songs. Not enough metal and fast paced songs for me to enjoy.
Your fingers will hurt for awhile playing this. |
