For those of you who insist on having time-stamped achievments, you will be glad to know that playing http://www.trueachievements.com/Dragons-Lair-xbox-360.htm
on its release date anniversary will net you the following achievement:
Arguably one of the most influential video games of all time, Dragon's Lair
was released on June 19th, 1983 when the arcade industry was going through a tough time.
The laserdisc format allowed Dragon's Lair
to look far superior to its competitors during this time. Disney animator Don Bluth supplied the animation for the game, in which players react to various full motion scenes during the game.
For another industry first, the game cost $0.50 per play; at the time this was equivalent to twice the cost of other arcade cabinets. The high cost did not turn players away, as long lines were often reported at arcades for eager gamers waiting their turn at the #1 video arcade game in the USA in 1983. By February 1984, the game had reportedly earned $32 million for its creator Cinematronics.
The 2012 release of Dragon's Lair
on Xbox LIVE Arcade represents the 67th time the game has been ported to a different system since its original introduction in 1983. The game continues to appeal to a wide range of players some 29 years later.
