Wonderful news - and great to see politicians actually treating gamers with some respect and recognising that we are more than a bunch of 15 year old kids that can't actually handle violence (or make intelligent choices about the games we purchase and play).
Great work and kudos to everyone who lobbied politicians and Parliament to get the law changed.
And to the hardline Christian idiots who opposed the change - well, I have no words ...
PS - Though its small news compared to the earthquake we just had here in Melbourne. |

This is (obviously) fantastic news for adult gamers in Australia.
I only hope that publishers will release a significant back-catalogue of previously-banned titles to them! |

| Wow, it seems like so long ago since I played L4D. Though heavy violence in games isn't always necessary it's nice to see that the Australians will not miss out on the games which do have lots of gore etc. |

| The next double rape homicide committed will be branded "just like GTA" by the Australian media, I bet it'll be reinforced before long. Politicians are imbeciles. |

| I'm a proud Aussie and the reality is this doesn't really effect me. I import all my games and then I don't have to deal with censors and grossly inflated prices. I think most American and UK gamers would shudder at the amount we have to pay. The Aussie dollar is doing stronger than the US yet we pay $99 when game hits shelves. Don't even get me started on MSP prices or xbox live prices |

Old man on street told me that the reason this law was put in place in the first place was because Austr-aliens descended from violent pickpockets in Victoria London.
