Enter The Dominatrix was DLC, then a stand-alone, now part of Next Great Sequel

The last time we discussed Saints Row: The Third and its infamous "April Fool's joke turned actual DLC", it was to report the news that this particular piece of DLC was going to instead be a stand-alone expansion. Well now I'm back almost two months later to tell you all that Saints Row: The Third - Enter The Dominatrix is no longer just a stand-alone expansion.

Saints Row: The Third - Enter The Dominatrix is now a part of an upcoming full sequel to Saints Row: The Third. This new, full sequel is tentatively titled The Next Great Sequel In The Saints Row Franchise. THQ sent out a press release earlier today informing us of this change and included a tasty quote from new THQ President, Jason Rubin as to why this project has done nothing but grow in size and scope.

When I looked at the Enter The Dominatrix expansion in production at Volition, I was blown away by the ideas and desire to expand the fiction of the franchise. I asked the team what it could achieve given more time, more resources, and a broader scope for the project. We all agreed we wanted to play that game. When it comes to Saints Row, it’s clear our fans want bigger, better, and even more over the top, and that’s why Enter The Dominatrix will now be incorporated into a vastly expanded, full-fledged sequel, scheduled for calendar 2013.The Next Great Sequel In The Saints Row Franchise will be released in the 2013 fiscal year and so the earliest we can see it is April 2013.

Day one buy for me. I love SR3! I just hope the rumors about trying to make the franchise all serious to turn it into THQs version of Red Dead arn't true.

Saints Row: The Third is from November, 2011.

It all likelihood, this latest game will be out closer to November 2013 than April, but since that's the start of the fiscal year, it marks the earliest possible date we *might* see it.

Either way, definitely getting this. I have really enjoyed this franchise.
