Take-Two Interactive has reported its fourth quarter financial results and reports a loss for fiscal year 2009. A loss of $137.9 million. This is in comparison to a reported profit of $97.1 million for fiscal 2008.
The 2009 loss was reported on a net revenue of $968.5 million, compared to a 2008 reported revenue of $1,537.5 million.
Among other setbacks for the year, Take-Two is citing "disappointing" sales of the DLC content for Grand Theft Auto IV. The company, however, is maintaining a positive outlook and points out the upcoming release of several highly anticipated titles in 2010.
The release of titles such as BioShock 2, Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3 may well put the studio back in the black and give them a much needed shot in the arm to kick off the new year.
I'd say that's a pretty good bet.
