NBA 2K13 Cover Athletes Revealed

2K sports has revealed the three young NBA superstars that will grace the cover of October’s NBA 2K13, dubbed NBA 2K’s ‘New Dynasty’ of players:

Kevin Durant won his third straight scoring title this year and led his Oklahoma City Thunder team to the NBA Finals. “Being crowned as one of the NBA 2K13 cover athletes is a huge honor and something I always dreamt about…it’s definitely humbling to grace the cover after the likes of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird.” Durant has actually donned the cover of a basketball game once before, but that was for EA Sports’ ill-fated NBA ELITE 11

Blake Griffin is best known for the ability to throw down slam dunks with excruciating force, and is no stranger to the highlight reels. He won the 2011 dunk contest at the All-Star game and guided the LA Clippers to a post-season appearance. “There’s so much young talent around the NBA, so it’s very exciting to be chosen for NBA 2K’s ‘New Dynasty’ alongside Kevin and Derrick.”

Derrick Rose was the 2010-2011 league MVP, and a part of the Chicago Bulls squad that led the league with a 50-16 record this year. Some say the NBA Playoffs may have played out differently had this dynamic player been able to avoid injury during this postseason. Derrick Rose follows the footsteps of former cover star and NBA legend Michael Jordan. “It’s a dream come true to be one of the cover athletes for NBA 2K13… I’m honored to follow in the footsteps of Michael Jordan as the latest Chicago Bull to be featured on the cover.”
