Nuketown 2025 Announced for Black Ops II

Downloadable map to be included with launch units

Written by litepink on 30 June 12 at 23:05

The most popular map from Call of Duty: Black Ops is set to return and be re-imagined for Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Nuketown 2025 will bring the close quarters play style that so many Call of Duty players enjoyed from the original Nuketown map.

Nuketown Map

Small and simple, yet lending itself to a variety of playstyles, the original Nuketown became an instant fan-favorite in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

An arena-style map with unique art design, Nuketown promoted the type of fast-paced action that Call of Duty fans from around the world have come to love. Now re-imagined in a 60's depiction of the "Model Home of the Future", Nuketown 2025 is set to take that familiar close-quarters chaos into the future!
Nuketown 2025 is described as a bonus map, and will be included in launch units of Black Ops II as a separate download. Naturally, Treyarch and Activision are encouraging those who want to secure this bonus to pre-order the game at any major retailer. They've provided a short FAQ for those with questions.

Q. How soon can I pre-order Call of Duty®: Black Ops II to get the Nuketown 2025 map?

A. Fans who pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops II now will get the Nuketown 2025 downloadable bonus map when Call of Duty: Black Ops II releases this November 13th. If you already pre-ordered the game then you’re all set, and you will be able to download the bonus map when Call of Duty: Black Ops II launches.
-
Q. Where will the pre-order program be available?

A. It will be available through most retailers worldwide.
--
Q: How do I make sure I can get Nuketown 2025?

A. Nuketown 2025 will be available to any customer who pre-orders their copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops II at participating retailers worldwide. Pre-ordering will secure you a launch unit of Call of Duty: Black Ops II that will include the Nuketown 2025 downloadable bonus map.
--
Q. When will Nuketown 2025 become available to me?

A. The Nuketown 2025 map will be available for download when Call of Duty: Black Ops II releases worldwide on November 13, 2012.
--
Q. Will it be available on all platforms?

A. Yes, it is a multiplatform pre-order program. Pre-orders will also be accepted through Steam. Simply follow the instructions to download through your console or PC.
--
Q. Is Nuketown 2025 locked on the disc?

A. No. Nuketown 2025 is a download.
--
Q. What if I have already pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops II?

A. No need to worry. Those who have already pre-ordered will be able to purchase a launch unit of Call of Duty: Black Ops II that will include the Nuketown 2025 downloadable bonus map.
Treyarch hopes to mix popular favorites like zombies and Nuketown, a new future setting, and enough new elements to silence any critics who believe the Call of Duty formula has grown old. Will it all come together? We'll see when Call of Duty: Black Ops II arrives November 13th.

I find it hilarious that Treyarch is trying to do something new and people keep bashing it. Isn't that what we've wanted all along? I thought people hate Call of Duty because it's a copy/paste. And I'm saying this as someone who dislikes the series too.

I never thought Black Ops followed that 'same' formula, it was a totally different game to me with its gamplay in single player and multiplayer. I cannot wait for the futuristic nuketown! My friends and i would all have our m60s on Nuketown, now that was fun! laugh I also hope that they keep the option to personalize your emblem despite all the gorillas having sex with horses or whatever perverty things people madefacepalm

No!!!!!! Bring back WMD, that was the only good map on Black Ops, onto the game in general, looks like another of the same old shit, different game, ever since CoD4 the whole series has gone completely downhill, even though I moan about it I'll still buy it for zombies and campaign, the online will be getting left untouched if it's anything like MW3.
Requiescat in pace.

I preordered at an independent shop here in the city, I'm hoping I'll still get it..

Are they releasing the map to the 'public' through a later map pack?

Like yourself I'm not a fan of the series (Although Spec Ops is really cool!) It just seems to me that they're not changing it for their fans or to keep it fresh, they're doing it just because sales are dropping, just like they'll release a demo 6 months after the game's released because sales will have slipped by then...

Never was a fan of Black Ops. One of the weakest Call of Duty's for me unfortunately. Not to sure this whole "future" idea is a great path to go down for the Call of Duty franchise. :/

The story was finally interesting and they did some cool things with the multiplayer like custom logos.

Pre-order dlc that you get for free is a bit different from dlc they expect people to buy on release day.

With preorder stuff if you are a fan of a game then you get a nice reward for supporting the game on day one. With day one dlc the same fans are getting ripped off more money for stuff that could have been in the game. It's a fine line for sure and i think it would be better if all new copies of the game came with the download code, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

I see it as a more preferable alternative to online passes - rewarding people for buying on day one instead of punishing people who buy second hand.

I agree with this. Some COD games have been a step in the wrong directions, but Black Ops was definitely a good game.

I'll never ever have a World at War style game again, and this saddens me. WaW was by far my favorite, and even comes out as one of my favorite games of all time. Yet the CoD franchise is taking it far from that. Sigh, I will probably never even play Black Ops II. It looks dreadful so far and I wasn't a fan of Black Ops all that much. Well that's my small rant.
