| It also comes with a 3rd mission if you've bought map pack 1 and 2. (which is needed to get the last 50g of that six new achievements for 150g) |

| Co-op missions? You must really hate someone to put them through that... |

You'd think that but those missions are probably the most fun missions in the game. (co-op missions)
The game becomes a lot more fun when you unlock the beefier VT and unlock parts to use for it (earned from playing said co-op missions).
and before anyone else whines about the controls sucking - Most likely not even playing the game themselves and watching only a crappy 15 minute video from some reviewer that could care less...
They work. They work perfectly. There are a ton of other Kinect games that have half the effectiveness that these controls have.
Are they user friendly to learn? No. It takes a couple hours to get used to. Which in these ADD days, that seems like a lifetime too long for many. |

The scores it got on based on reviews where it did not work, not because the reviewer "didn't give a crap".
AngryJoe for example, he wanted to love it, but the controls did not work for him. And I freaking love From Software, so even though I'm not a fan of Kinect, I wanted the game to succeed. |

That can be said about ALL Kinect games. Doesn't change the fact that the controls do work.
AngryJoe is a terrible example and is the last person I'd ever trust for a Kinect game review, maybe for any game review in general.
Quick to anger, quick to fidget when something doesn't work. Fidgeting around is probably the fastest way to make sure your controls DONT work in this game.
When you have dozens of games you have to review and very little time to actually sit back and play said games, its hard to care about anything in the long run. The controls are NOT going to feel right away and thats all that most reviewers have time for. |

I.E. LEGO created BIONICLE long ago cause kids don't have the patience anymore to buid things up so the could quickly assemble action figures and play with them.
IMHO the demo wasn't as smooth as I'd like it to be but didn't see as many flaws as reviewers pointed out either. I loved, even in failure, the feeling of being busy controlling a complex and heavy machine.
Its not that Kinect don't have hardcore games but people who are lazy to get past thru steep learning curves and controls that won't be 100% precise all the time (even when you have mastered something it's natural you can fail at times - Doesn't Tony Hawk falls now and then from his skate?).
Same happened to me with SONIC FREE RIDERS. If you put time into it, it can be quite intense.

Which in these ADD days, that seems like a lifetime too long for many.I agree 100% - the controls do work and work well once you get past the learning curve. I fell many of the reviewers were already predisposed to hate the game because it used Kinect, did not read the directions to set up a proper chair to game in, were complete idiots, or have very poor motor control. Heck one of the review sites that gave it one of the lowest review scores didn't even write all their own review and just cited other web sites' reviews - very unprofessional in my opinion. If you panic, flail, and wave of course the controls would not work as the Kinect does not read minds (yet?), but if you are deliberate and precise with your movements it does work as intended.
Granted the game is difficult and may not be for everyone, but it is not a broken mess as has been widely proclaimed on review sites. |

The controls are NOT going to feel right away and thats all that most reviewers have time for.Nothing personal, but since I don't care about Kinect, and therefore will never play this, I'm gonna have to go with the majority of people who couldn't get it to work over the minority that could.
Plus the holier-than-thou attitude from people who can get it to work just annoy me. If you love the game, that's great, and I wouldn't want to take that away from you. But people acting like they are something special, and a better gamers because "they put more time into the game" when there's zero proof that that the people it didn't work for didn't put time into it.
I really like quite a few games that got low scores, the new Spatterhouse for example, and I don't act like I'm better then the people who don't like it. Not everyone has to like the same things.
I should note I'm not necessarily including anyone here in this topic as those types of people, but they do exist. |

So basically since you don't care about the Kinect, you're going to agree that a game doesn't work because the vocal minority proclaims this game doesn't work?
The majority playing any game are not and should not have to go around saying a games controls work. They'll probably just shake their head at the naysayers and go about enjoying themselves.
The special attitude of people taking their time to insult something that doesn't even pertain to them baffle me. If you don't have a Kinect, why are you going out of your way to say a Kinect game's controls don't work? What do you gain from it?
The local bum said the world was ending and the only way to save oneself was to jump from the Golden Gate bridge. Should I just take him for his word and tell everyone?
There is quite a bit of difference between liking a game with low scores and bashing a game for its controls not working, especially if it works. It would be more similar if they were bashing the low scoring game because the A button on a Xbox 360 controller doesn't work. Sounds outlandish? Well its the exact situation with the Kinect.
I do have controllers with broken buttons but I don't go around blaming a game for it.
The game does have many faults but people are laying the blame on the wrong parts. |

Ok, lets cut to the chase. This is one of the worst games ever made, period, kinect peripheral used, or not. Kinect and party games are great and MS should stay with that formula as they have a large audience behind it. Kinect and any other style of game will not work. Look at the attempt with Mass Effect 3. Kinect wasn't needed. It's just as bad as throwing multiplayer onto a game "just because". Again, Mass Effect 3 as an example. I've logged in 22 hours on the game on my nephew's account and I just don't understand what From was doing. And I do love From games. I've logged countless hours on Chromehounds and the AC series, but guess what, no gimmicky peripheral was required to limit the gameplay and detract from the games story.
My fear is that more game companies will fall into the trap of being forced to incorporate the Kinect into gameplay and it will force alot of Xbox games onto PC or PS3, heaven forbid. I hope MS wakes up soon to see what they're doing to their system. |
