Something people get very mistaken with is that the myans predict the end of the world, they dont , they predict a time of change in the world but certainly not death to it . http://www.seri-worldwide.org/id435.html
I actually read the page of the link i just pasted earlier today and its interesting to read what the myans actually meant about 21dec 2012 coming from an actually myan elder
As for the game i love these post apocalyptic scenarios |

As for the game i love these post apocalyptic scenariosIt's all trash. They didn't predict much of anything. Some say their alleged doomsday scenario is really a "global revolution" but even that has no basis in fact. It's all based off of ridiculous, antiquated religious theory. Hey isn't that a little redundant? hahah
As for Deadlight, It looks great. I'm a sucker for a game with good visuals. I'll wait for reviews to hopefully confirm that it's worth the money. |

Actually, The end of a calender is hardly a prediction of anything, but if that was their intention, most educated minds now agree and admit that the calculations that led to the date Dec 21, or even the year 2012, were way off base. The Mayans used 2 separate calender types based on the length of the seasons, a long year calender that consisted of 400+ days and a short year calender that consisted of less than 350 days. Most historians now agree that we have no way of knowing how many years were deemed "long years" and how many were deemed to be "short years." In our society, we use a 365 day calender every year (with the obvious exception of a leap year.) With that knowledge, many believe that even if the Mayans were "Super Scientists" with the ability to to predict the future, yet a lack of communication skills resulting in this grand prophecy being hidden in a calender, We would still have no way of knowing when 2012 would have been in their years. A popular belief is that the year in question has already passed.
On topic, I can not wait for Deadlight. It looks amazing. |

On topic, I can not wait for Deadlight. It looks amazing.its not just the end of the calender read the page i posted and you will see that its in fact more than that , i mean its an actual myan telling the truth behind it all , i doubt your going to get any closer to the truth than from an actual myan lol
Historians can come to as many conclusions as they want but the truth passed down by the myans through the myan elders is going to be more factual than a historian conclusion
They to put it short say it is a time for us all to come together and stop looking at the world as a material gain and see it for the nurturing place that we live in and funnily enough they speak about the corruption of the banks which is totally true lol. Read it your self it is interesting instead of listen to all the hear say |

I may read that soon but I doubt that some guy of Mayan heritage (since the Mayans are not exactly an existing culture these days) would know anymore about it than the rest of us. If some "Mayans" secretly knew about it, then why didn't they tell us 20 years ago, or 100 years ago. Why did it have to be "discovered" by historians before anyone knew anything about it? Regardless, I have read hundreds of articles about this "Mayan Prophecy" (including the theory that the date will mark an alignment with the center of the universe, which we couldn't possibly know where the center of the universe is) and they all lead me to believe that it is all nonsense and nothing more. 2012 will be no different than 2011 or 2013. |

But don't you see, you've just largely explained why organized religion still exists today. People would rather believe death is met with pearly gates and all your old best friends and family rather than a complete nothingness. But look at me, derailing my own news article. |
