Developers Choosing to Stop the Parties

Have you ever been in a team match in games like Halo or Call of Duty, and the last man alive on your team is being stalked by some 12 year old kid?

Have you found yourself screaming so loud over your microphone informing him that he needs to turn around that you're scaring children in neighboring houses, only to find that he isn't even in the game channel for your Team Hardcore match?

Well not anymore you aren't!

Seems like Microsoft is giving game developers the option to totally negate the Party Chat option, and you'll soon see it on Modern Warfare 2:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will force players to decide whether or not they’ll play the game and join the game chat, or choose to stay in a private chat and not play in the multiplayer game. With titles like Gears of War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, and many other online based multiplayer titles, the private chat feature became a way of telling other players of enemy locations after being killed.

As of right now, Private chats are still allowed, but that will soon change. If you've ever had the privilege of playing games with me, then you know that I have a certain talent of announcing the matches while they are in progress, and also giving post game reports... Sadly, this is true, just ask NightStalkar.

So get ready to hear every word that I have to say, because Microsoft has just given me that right... Along with all of the racist 12 year olds who mysteriously act like they all have Tourettes. Someone should probably look into that.
