Xbox Game Showcase Review
Yesterday Microsoft presented their long awaited Xbox 20/20 Games Showcase. It focused entirely on the games we will be able to play on the Xbox Series X and included a number of world premieres, console exclusives, and more.

We've recorded a special edition of the TrueAchievements Podcast to share our thoughts on the Xbox Games Showcase. We touch on most of the games in the event, discussing what we liked, what we didn't, what surprised us, and finally some predictions for the future.

Welcome to our end of year special, where Sam, Ollie and I were joined by our Editorial Manager, Mark, as we take our annual look back at all of the biggest news stories, site announcements and games from the world of Xbox and PlayStation over the past 12 months.

As we mention during the show, this will be our last regular episode of the podcast, as we look to focus our combined efforts on making all three of the TGN sites the best they can be in 2019. It's not the end of the show completely, however, as we'll be back to share our opinions on some of the bigger games as they release and the larger industry events, so stay tuned to the homepage to catch the next episode.

TGN Episode 1
In last week's podcast notes, I mentioned that we had been tossing around the idea of switching from a solely TA focussed podcast to a TGN podcast, where we can discuss and debate all of the latest news and games from both Xbox and PlayStation. Thankfully, the feedback was positive, and so this week, we'd like to introduce you to the very first episode of the TGN podcast!

Joining me on this week's show are Ollie and Sam, as we share out thoughts on the newly released Assassin's Creed Odyssey and discuss what could be next for Ubisoft's long-running franchise, discuss the leaked Harry Potter RPG footage, marvel at the latest Red Dead Redemption 2 gameplay trailer, and look at what's now available for free in October's Games with Gold and PS Plus offerings. We also, give you the chance to win an Xbox One came code (leave us a comment in the thread below to enter), discuss this week's ID@Xbox streams, and answer your questions, including the question of the week.

Episode 139
Welcome to episode 139 of the TrueAchievements podcast. Before we get into what we've covered on this week's show, we'd like to thank all of you that took the time to provide some feedback on the format of the show. The general consensus was that reading out long lists of new achievements and new releases were boring a low point, so we've made some changes this week to only discuss the bigger games and the ones that really interest us.

We've also been swapping around some ideas internally, and one of the suggestions we thought might be worth exploring is switching from a solely TA focussed podcast to a TGN podcast, where we can discuss and debate all of the latest news and games from both Xbox and PlayStation. Of course, that would mean we'd mostly be covering the same things we would be, as most of the big games are multiplatform, with the odd discussion around some PS4 exclusives thrown in for good measure. If you have any thoughts (both pros and cons) on this idea, please let us know in the comments below.

With all that out of the way, let's get back to this week's episode.

On this week's show, we give you the chance to win an Xbox One download code of your choosing from our giveaway sack (leave us a comment in the thread below to enter), we give you our impressions on Forza Horizon 4, we chat about last week's surprising news that Telltale have laid off the vast majority of its workforce, we cover all of the big announcements from the latest Inside Xbox stream, and Jack and Ollie dig holes in Construction Simulator 2. We also discuss the rest of this week's biggest news announcements, take a look at what we've been playing over the past seven days, chat about our ID@Xbox streams, look at the games coming our way over the next seven days, and answer your questions, including the question of the week.

Episode 135 - Gamescom Special
We're back from another action-packed and hectic trip to Cologne, Germany, where we spent four days at Gamescom in developer sessions and getting hands-on time with some of the biggest games that will be releasing on the Xbox One in the coming months.

We saw so many games, that unlike previous years, we didn't even have a spare hour to record a show whilst we were over there. Unfortunately, that means the annual Gamescom special episode of the TA Podcast is a little later than usual, but hopefully, you'll enjoy listening to our thoughts on what we saw throughout our time at the show.

The History of TrueAchievements
Welcome to a very special episode of the TrueAchievements podcast, where for one show only, we switch the focus from the games that we've been playing and the news that's been breaking over the past week and instead celebrate a decade of TA with a trip down memory lane.

From the initial concept way back in 2008 through to the huge site that TrueAchievements is today serving millions of unique users and page views per month, Rich reflects on what it's taken to build, maintain and grow TA over the past 10 years.

With almost two hours of chat covering the highs, lows, challenges and rewards that running TA brings, this one episode of the podcast that any fan of the site really shouldn't miss.

E3 2017 Special
It's been a crazy few days of E3, and rather than trying to remember all of the big announcements from the EA, Bethesda, Xbox, Ubisoft and PlayStation press conferences in one go, Rich, Jack and I decided to get together after each while everything was fresh in our minds. The result is our E3 2017 special podcast, which covers everything from the Madden marching band that opened EA Play through to the brilliant looking Spider-Man that closed Sony's show.

If you want to check out any of the trailers we mention during the show, head over to our E3 hub where you can find all of our extensive coverage.

We've gone ID@Xbox mad this week. Partly due to the fact that Dead Rising 4 was the only big release from the past week, but also due to our new regular Twitch streams of ID@Xbox games.

On this week's show, we talk about Dead Rising 4 and some of the strange and wonderful weapon and clothing combos available, the 15 minutes 100% completion that is Energy Cycle, the brutally tough Furi, Wand Wars' couch multiplayer and the very British humour available in Her Majesty's SPIFFING. We also go through all of the big news stories, we take a look at the games that will be coming our way next week, and answer your questions.

Today is a very special podcast for a couple of reasons. Firstly, because it marks our 50th show (including specials), but most importantly because we were lucky enough to be joined at the end of the show by a very special guest, Grant Orban from Playground Games, who gave us an insight in to what goes into making a game like Forza Horizon 3.

As we ran out of time while on Thursday night, we first attempted to record this show in Cologne airport while waiting for our plane home. We've tacked on a couple of highlights at the end to show why that was not a good idea laugh

The cold, icy grip of death winter is officially among us, friends. What better way to fight off its chilling embrace with a lukewarm red hot podcast!

This month, Rich was tragically (and at the last second) snowed in at his in-laws forcing us to pull in super-sub Dave who chats us up about his review of Gat out of Hell while Michelle regales us with tales of attempting to become an Übermensch in Wolfenstein. We also come full circle and discuss everything surrounding the 2014 Game of the Year. Finally, slayer of dragons, knower of Jack, and all around jerk-face, Jonathan, (Yeah, I went third person, so what?) manages to keep the ship upright through sheer force of will and jerkiness.

As we approach the end of Hanukkah, the eve of Christmas, and the start of Kwanzaa, the team at TrueAchievements would like to give all of you a gift. We know that the holidays are an especially stressful season for gamers. You really want to dig into that new game you got while enjoying the fresh socks and undies that your grandparents and in-laws gifted to you, but you're console is back at home, and you're stuck in the game-forsaken tundra of a relative's house.

Well, console-starved gamer, this podcast is for you.

This past weekend, Rich, Superstar Pinch Hitter Dave, and some faithless heathen jerk who appreciates holidays for family, friends, and drinking sat down to chat about site and app updates, what we've been playing for the past month, and all... most... some of the biggest news to slip onto the front page. We also jump into the TA Podcast Mailbag and answer a few questions.

Greetings, all.

Remember how back in September we promised, nay swore, that we wouldn't wait so long between recording episodes of your favorite podcast (1).

Well, we've failed you. I've failed you. It could have been the distraction of awesome games coming out. It might have been the release of the AMAZING TrueAchievements App. It could be a classic case of too many cooks. Regardless, you've had to wait ENTIRELY too long for a mainline hit of the good stuff (2). We're here to make it all up to you though with a very special podcast. In this month's show, Rich takes time away from his birthday steak to chat us up about the latest with the TA App, Michelle tells us more about https://www.trueachievements.com/Disney-Fantasia-Music-....htm, and (after we kick the big man out of the party), the two of us lament the woes of Destiny for the first (but probably not the last) time.

We're also hitting some of the major news stories over the past few weeks, chatting about holiday releases, and generally being cheeky monkeys since Rich left us in charge. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Enjoy!

E3 2014 Special Edition
Now that the insanity of E3 has begun to die down, you might be wondering to yourself, "Self, I wonder what the TA Podcast crew thought of this year's show?"

Wonder no more, because the crew of TrueAchievement, Matrarch, and some jerk sat down to record their thoughts on Microsoft, Ubisoft, EA, and MORE.

With that in mind, pull up a chair around the old-timey internet and give us a listen. We'll be back in a few weeks with one of our "regularly-scheduled" podcasts.

As always, if you like our shenanigans, subscribe in iTunes, give us a good rating, and take moment to write a quick review saying how much you enjoy our Rich's cheeky shenanigans but are ready to pistol whip me for mine. As regular listeners know, M's shenanigans are more of a slow-burn.

Just as April showers bring May flowers, but Microsoft's big decisions bring a new TA Podcast. Well... not really... we were set to record one anyway, but the decision to remove Kinect from the Xbox One made us throw out the original plans. Nevertheless, with Rich called away on a top secret mission, we've enlisted the services of ChewieOnIce to sit in with Matrarch and I to discuss everything from the big Xbox One news all the way to the big Call of Duty news and even the HUGE news about Defiance. We also open the TA Mailbag and do our best to answer your queries.

Just like last month, if you like what you're hearing on the TA Podcast, please subscribe in iTunes and leave us a good review. Bonus points if your review includes a reference to the much-maligned NBC dramedy Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.

In this month's episode, TrueAchievement, Matrarch, and I sat down to talk about some of the new updates and changes to the site, Microsoft acquiring the Gears of War IP from Epic, the future of Call of Duty, and the mess created by WB Games.

Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids and Shatner kind of blew it (in the best way), but that doesn't stop us from chatting about our Little Rocket Man achievement challenge as well as picking a new one to speed through for March... until that whole titANfall thing happens.

Happy New Year, Gamers!

This month/year the podcast crew is BACK discussing the year that was, TA's Game of the Year, our Game of the Month (The Walking Dead: Season Two), and all of the hottest news on the site.

Did Matrarch, TrueAchievement, and I pop our achievement challenge? (Spoiler Alert, no, but you should listen to the story of our struggles anyway.)

In our August show, Dog, Matrarch, and me, osubluejacket, got hot and heavy (seriously, it's disgustingly gross outside and we've all eaten a lot of great barbecue) discussing self publishing on the Xbox One and what its impact on Indies, quarterly business reports from major publishers and what that means to you as gamers, and the biggest gaming news to cross our front page this month. I also stepped up to the plate for my first achievement challenge.

Now I can tell what you're thinking. You're thinking:

But where's TrueAchievement?! I demand his presence or I shan't be listening!
Easy there, enraged gamer. The big man has had a busy month coding our sister site and was unable to join us. This is good news for you, the listener, because when "dad" is away, we "kids" get to play!

As always, if you like what you're hearing, be sure to subscribe in iTunes and give us a good rating and review!

E3 Special Edition
TrueAchievement, Dog of Thunder, and osubluejacket, go down the docket by discussing Microsoft's E3 press conference, the news and revelations surrounding the Xbox One, the hottest game reveals from Ubisoft and EA, and even talk about "the other guys" who (evidently) did a pretty good job at E3, as well.

In a special bit of DLC for this podcast, TA and Matrarch also come in to discuss the late-breaking (seriously, it came out hours after we recorded) news about next gen achievements.

Since we had two, back-to-back, "Special Edition" podcasts, we'll be getting back to regularly schedule amazingness next month!
