Introduction

The special ability of the Knight is an invincibility shield that allows him to be immune against any sort of damage, including the damage from falling from high heights.

As for every other character's walkthrough page, we will refer to your characters as Knight (the Knight), First (any of the two other characters) and Second (the other one). First and Second can be any character, it doesn't matter as long as of course it's not the Knight, the main character of this trial.

There is one missable achievement related to the unique quest of the Knight (Royal Buffet). It requires you to return to a specific location (the princess' room) after obtaining the reward from the king (after unlocking the story-related achievement "A Midsummer's Knight Thieve").

There are three Cave Paintings available during the Knight trial, like every other character-specific trial.

These are the Cave Paintings related to the Knight character:

The Peasant Boy
An Opportunity!
A Playful Deception
Pretending Not To See
A Fake Hero Arrives
A Fake Hero Flees
The Dragon Attacks!
Will You Save Us?
In Over His Head (Bad Ending)
Death Of A Kingdom (Bad Ending)
Confession Of A Lie (Good Ending)
The Rewards Of Honesty (Good Ending)

The Knight Trial - Video.

The Knight Trial

- The Knight's trial starts requiring you to descend through a pit full of flames; use the Knight's special ability to go through without roasting him
- Go left after landing, so you trigger a short conversation with a king
- Then go all the way right to proceed after the conversation with the king
- After going through a gate that will open as you approach it, climb up some ropes, ladders and platforms to trigger a conversation with a princess

- After the conversation with the princess, First and Second will respawn somewhere nearby (at the bottom of the path leading up to the princess). Leave the Knight up there, and control First
- As First, go right through another gate that will open as you approach it, and descend down a rope when necessary
- At the bottom of the rope you will notice two signs; one has a picture of a dragon and points left; the other has a picture of a princess and points right
- Go right and climb up the first rope you come across. Then, after the rope, climb up a ladder all the way up. At the top of this ladder go left and jump up some stairs to find another ladder. Ignore this ladder and go further right to immediately find another rope: climb it all the way up to reach a lever
- Pull this lever with First, and leave First in this position. Pulling the lever will lower a cage-elevator which will automatically descend all the way down. You will hear some "ding!" sounds when it reaches the floors below; nevermind them

- Switch to Second, and follow the steps of First's to go up a rope after taking the path to the right towards the princess. However, instead of going all the way up the first ladder, this time stop before its top. In particular, stop when the ladder allows you to jump either left or right on two different pieces of floor. On the right side you have probably noticed a guard earlier; if you step on the floor where this guard is it will instantly kill you -- don't do so. Instead, just leave Second hanging from the ladder just in correspondence of where this floor (with the guard) is

- Switch to Knight, and free-fall all the way down. Then go right, following the steps of the other two characters: go down a rope, and then continue right. Instead of going up the usual rope though, this time proceed further right to notice a cage-elevator (it's there if you pulled the lever with First, earlier). Go inside this cage and press Y to activate his special ability. Don't touch any other button, so his ability remains activated
- Switch to First and pull the lever again to call the cage-elevator back up
- As soon as you hear the first "ding!", stop pulling the lever (press B again). This will leave the Knight (who is on the cage-elevator) just in correspondence (on the right of) the guard, who will now start shooting the Knight repeately with his arrows
- Now that the guard is not looking left anymore, switch to Second and jump right of the ladder where you left him (jump left of the guard). Go up another small ladder located just left of the guard, and climb up it to reach and get the Dragon Gate Key

- Still as Second (who carries the Dragon Gate Key), now backtrack to where there were the two signs of dragon/princess. This time go left to find another "dragon-sign" pointing downwards towards a rope. Ignore the path on its left, and follow the rope down
- After the rope, go right and ignore a ladder descending down. Instead, jump past it, on its right
- Continue on the right past the ladder and you will find a "box" ("Stud") that you can drag. Do so (drag it to the left) and push it all the way left until it falls below. After doing so you can descend the previously-ignored ladder to reach the "box" that you pushed down
- After descending down the ladder, drag the "box" all the way to the right, then use it as a stepping stone to proceed further right. After jumping up you can't help noticing Cave Painting # 01/03
- After examining the painting keep going right, hopping across a few gaps and climbing up when necessary. You will reach the gate of the dragon: use the key carried with you to open it, but don't head for the shiny object on the ground yet. Stand still instead, and switch to First

- As First you want to pull the lever to activate the cage again another couple of times; the first time the cage (with the Knight) will descend, while the second time it will go upwards again. When you hear another "ding!", stop the cage again
- Now switch to the Knight, who is on the floor above the floor where the Dragon Gate Key was. On this floor you'll be able to access Cave Painting # 02/03

- When this optional step is done, jump down with the Knight and descend down the rope near the second "dragon-sign", following the steps of Second's to reach the spot where you originally found the previous "Stud" box
- On the right of the default position of the "box" there is the dragon. Approach him and, immediately as you see his head raising up, activate the Knight's special ability to protect the Knight from the flames that the dragon will spit against you
- Immediately switch back to Second after protecting the Knight, and quickly steal the Dragon Treasure from the ground while the dragon is distracted by the Knight. Then immediately go back right after stealing the treasure, so you avoid the dragon flames that he will soon start spitting on Second too

- With the treasure in your hands, still as Second, climb up the path on the right of the dragon gate to go back up just about where the elevator cage landed earlier. Go left to find the usual rope, and climb up it. Follow the usual stairs upwards, and this time climb up the second ladder instead of the second rope (the ladder I'm talking about is on the left of the rope that leads to the lever used to control the cage-elevator)
- On the top of this ladder, go left and use the Dragon Treasure in a machinery of some sort to lower a gate
- Go further left and you will find the Bloody Amulet after a scene. Don't pick it up as Second (if you do, just drop it again), and instead just leave Second near the "coin machinery" where you inserted the Dragon Treasure a minute ago

- Switch back to Knight and make your way here with him to get the Bloody Amulet
- After getting the Bloody Amulet as Knight, jump off the balcony on the left to land back on the ground. You will notice that First has respawned just about where you landed, while Second is still up in the princess' room
- As Knight, go all the way left and climb up the rope when necessary to backtrack to the very beginning of this trial. From there, jump down the "pit of flames" again and go left to speak with the king again. Approach the Excalibur (the sword in the stone) but don't attempt to pull it yet (it doesn't matter if you try, but you still can't succeed)

- Switch back to First, and control this character to backtrack once again towards the princess' quarters. Don't go all the way up there though, and stop before the ladder that leads to her room. Instead of going right (towards the ladder and the rope that leads to the levers of the elevator), this time jump on the left to find some Dynamite. Grab one of them and carry it with First
- Still as First, now wielding Dynamite, backtrack where there was the second "dragon sign" earlier (the one near a rope going downwards). It's finally time to jump on its left and continue on this last unexplored path
- Make your way all the way left (climb up when necessary) to reach Cave Painting # 03/03

- Turn around from this last painting, and on your right you will see a taller block of rocks that stands below a ceiling of cracked rocks. Above the cracked rocks is the Excalibur
- Use the flames on the right of this tall block of rocks to light the Dynamite, and quickly jump on the tall rock to drop the lit Dynamite just in correspondence with the cracked ceiling. After dropping the Dynamite, jump left/right to stay safe, and wait the explosion that will ultimately crack the ceiling and, therefore, the ground below the Excalibur
- Switch to the Knight and pull the Excalibur. After some scenes with the king you will unlock:

Now switch back to Second, who is still near the princess' room, and enter the princess' room again to trigger a quick scene with the king. At this point you will unlock:

This is all about the Knight's special quest: switch back to the Knight and go all the way left, dropping off a cliff to land in the water and complete his trial. Note that you will lose the Excalibur during the fall; the sword will sink in the water and get permanently stuck in a rock underwater. Leave it there and simply proceed without it.
