Those auto-scrolling levels can be pretty annoying, for me this one was the hardest. My former strategy was to always let myself die when I missed a spark, in order to respawn. But then it took almost a minute until reaching and missing it again, because I was distracted.

So I changed strategy which helped a lot. For those auto-scrolling levels I played from the beginning and always finished them in order to train myself on the spark pattern towards the end of the map, independently if I missed one or not. After about 20-25 runs (90 sec each) I was able to get the three lamps with a total number of 68 collected sparks ... and the good news is, 67 is already enough (thanks Icefiretn for confirming)!

With a very deep sadness I can confirm 65 is not enough...:(

This level sucks monkeyballs !!
It makes me feel like I have a serious short term memory problem

Best thing ( for my controller ) is to close the game and get back to it another time.

I can confirm that 67 is enough, as I ended the level with that and was aggravated that I missed it by 1, but I got the 3 lamps and the achievement. Since 66 is not enough according to WOODY2211, that would make 67 the minimum.

And there are a total of 77 blue bolts in the level, so you're allowed to miss 10 (which is a lot more than how it feels imho).
I recorded a run and counted on the playback.

Edit: and got 70! Woohoo :D

Finally got it after more than 20 runs i think, one of the key check point is after the 1st fast run, if you can have around 40 bolts, then you can keep going and try and error to grab as mush as possible, i finally got 67 while missing the last 1-2 bolts.

What I dont understand is that sometimes when you suicide, you have to start over with 0 bolts, but sometimes it doesn't restart... This is very annoying!!

There's like 40 bolts before the first checkpoint. You can afford to miss a few of the tougher ones. I got 37 bolts before the first checkpoint and grabbed 71 to finish (with a nerve-wracking 1 health left!).

Very frustrating level. As to the respawning question, it seemed to me that unless you got struck by lightning at least once, anytime you suicide/fall you lose your score. I started the level everytime and ran into the first lightning to ensure it would save my points for the rest of the time I spent doing the level.

This is a piece of inconsistent junk. Did anyone else suffer from falling off and having your lightning reset?

This level completely sucks. There is nothing remotely fun about it. And Tropan, I had the same issue. I figure the devs didn't test this level much, but I don't blame them. I wouldn't want too either.

I have another tip that might be useful to add to your solution: when you start the level and you die before your checkpoint, your bolt-progress will be saved. However, when you finish the level and press replay, the progress is not saved. Simply go back to the map to prevent this from happening! :)

Started this game 5yrs ago, and I finally got the 3 stars on this level to 100% the game.
Practice practice practice, play it enough and you’ll finally memorize it.
I beat it with 71 bolts, then while it was fresh in my head I went and beat it for my girlfriend with 71 bolts, and to continue with it, I went and beat it on my daughters account with 73 bolts.
I ended the first fast section (the halfway point) with 36 bolts.
So after not being able to beat it for many years and attempts, I was finally able to do it and I unlocked the achievement for 3 people in a 20min span.
Such a great feeling.
