"3. Increase the penalty shot slider (No need for any other slider)" is WRONG. If you have previously made changes to the settings (bringing the penalty/foul sliders DOWN) it will be impossible (or at least VERY hard) to "FOUL" anyone, thus making the achievement impossible. It's best to go ahead and ramp ALL "penalty/foul" sliders to 100%. Once I did this I got the achievement in 1 try. Otherwise this is a great solution.

thanks for the tips man. Worked like a charm. I had messed with the settings before so I had to use DragonYen's comments too :-) The only hard thing is holding the X down with one hand and trying to get the other hand to move and foul on another controller...

I'm using guitars and getting penalties successfully. You just need to do it when they get a face off in your half, I did this by giving the puck to the keeper and holding it there.

This worked well for me also having tried and failed using several other techniques

DragonYen I don't know why you say WRONG! The guide is written obviously for default settings, if YOU changed/messed with the sliders, that makes the guide WRONG?

I have sliders for all penalties turned up all the way... I get on breakaways, the AI puts me on the ground while I'm shooting, but the referee has NEVER called a penalty... HELP!?!

oh man, following this guide made this achievement a cakewalk. Thumbs up man.

The only thing I would add is that when the penalty shot is awarded and the guy is ready with the puck at center ice, one of the controllers from the 3-controller team should press right stick down to control the goalie. Move him all the way to one side then use your main controller to shoot at the other side of the goal. Achievement unlocked!

I find it impossible to control 2 players at once. I cannot hold x on 1 controller and then get an opposition player to foul me at the same time.

For me it's same as lewigiplayer360, can't get it no matter how many times i try. i'm only getting faceoffs. WTF am doing wrong?

I swear this is the best Guide Ever written for any game. I have been plagued by this game since 2006. I have tried everything possible. I tried this one and on my first try achievement popped. Whoever gave a negative on this should have their account removed. Well Done, TarekEgypt. Well Done.

My Nephew and I have done it twice and the Achievement won't pop.

How do you prevent yourself from getting a faceoff rather then the desired penalty? Whats the difference between a foul for a penalty and one for a faceoff? I think thats the most common problem people have!

This method works perfectly, also, you don't even need to set up for a shot by holding X on your main controller, as long as you slash him from behind whilst he's in possession of the puck (i.e. by using RS as described), if you follow the rest of the steps listed here you'll get the penalty every time. It makes it a little bit easier if you're doing this on your own with no-one to help you out

It worked after I stopped putting my guy close to the goalie. I stopped my guywhen I got between both red face-off circles and got penalty shot awarded.

Basically if you're not on a breakaway you're probably not going to get a penalty only a faceoff, that was key for me to getting one, although I missed 3 times LOL

Perfect guide - got this done in 10 minutes.

Best to get your breakaway from a face off in your own defensive area - give the puck to your own goalie, let him ice it and there'll be a face off in your defensive area. All three controlled players on opposing team will be there. Win the face off, skate past them and then ready your shot with the x button while bringing one of the opposing players up and smashing the shooter by moving the right analogue stick.
