Wow, after seeing that silver was 500 kills in my game, i was thinking it'd be like 2,500 at the most, which i thought was kind of a lot. SIX THOUSAND?! Especially when campaign/horde don't count? Fuck..that.. With that said, I'll force myself to get there one day.

I think they went overboard with this one. I like a good, long-term challenge, but this doesn't come close to the first two seriously achievements.

Not really Callum. If he is correct in that you can play private matches like I predicted months ago (just ask any of my friends) then it won't take that long. In a 10 min match of king of the hill or whatever against bots on casual, you could easily get like 50 kills.

Epic already said no one should have all the achievements yet, as it should take a while to get seriously 3.0 and that they would be working with Microsoft on any possible account suspensions or bans for cheating.

I'm pretty determined to get Seriously 3.0 right now but the 18k matches and 60k-ish kills is gonna take a while. Even if I leave my game on every night and when I'm at work it's still gonna be at least 6 months.

Silver for Battle Mistress shows as 300 matches. It should be 100.

When I tried boosting with private bots on CTL, I was never the leader, and I played around 25 matches. This is going to make LEADER very very difficult to boost on your own.

EPIC did the fans of Gears a huge disservice by making this achievement so hard to obtain. It's not even a challenge really, it's just the longest possible grind to keep people playing for years.

CTL vs bots is broken, ive played almost 300 matches vs bots and never once been the leader. Epic better fix this.

So this is probably going to be the highest TA ratio achievement ever?

I got Pyro progress with a single hammer of dawn kill, should be included as fire based weapon.

I hope they back it up with lots of new DLC and events to keep interest in what is otherwise the longest grind in Xbox Live history! I'm loving Gears 3 so far, but without some great events and new DLC, that really is going to be a chore than a pleasure that's for sure.

The achievement should be for getting all the onyx medals since there is an onyx medal for reaching rank 100.

You can be the leader in a private CTL match with bots, it just will never be the first round. It looks like the host is leader every 5 rounds.

Any estimates on time for this? I ran my 360 going overnight with bots playing warzone (1 min round duration), and unless I counted wrong I only got about 200 matches played in about 7 hours.

If that's right then that's: 5 * 6 * 7 = 210 hours just for the warzone onyx, repeat again for the other 5 modes and you have over **1000** hours. And that's not counting kills, MVP's, wins, etc, or any of the non adversarial stuff (horde, beast, campaign).

The numbers for Veteran are wrong:

Silver is 500 matches
Gold is 2000 matches

Match Winner is wrong as well, it's 200 wins for Silver, not 500.

I like getting all the achievements in games. I thouroughly enjoy playing for a 100% in every game, but this, this is absolutely fucking stupid. It has totally and completely removed any desire I have to play this game. I have felt that achievements have began to hurt games more then help and this has just proved my point I think I may be done with XBox 360 as well. for field engineer, if between rounds on horde you have one person shooting a turret, the person getting the medal stands next to the turret and mashes Y. This reloads the turret, and counts as a repair. You can easily get 100 or so in one round with this.

Great tip as while doing this you also (quickly) work on Veteran, Match Winner, Finisher, CTL, and (if you play as the locust) Battle Mistress. You do *not* get credit for Abductor or MVP though.

another easy Onyx is the Spotter...you can use a 2nd controller and just aim at the dummy and click left stick in...over and over until you get the required amount.

oh ya and another easy Onyx is the Revives...play CTL and turn friendly fire on...then just shotgun your leader and revive him until you get enough revives...you can also do a perfect reload after each shot if you want

A good way to get Last Man Out ribbons is to turn friendly fire on and then shotgun your entire team as soon as round begins in a game of Warzone

Prologue is NOT working for Survivalist

For the Horde medal, mutators don't void this I just did it with some friends and unlocked the medal

The author of this guide needs to keep updating to get the best solutions for each medal up there. Hate having to search through 100+ comments to find them.

Also, I have an idle boosting method to share. Only really works if you have a turbo controller. I start up a private match (usually execution or warzone) with bots to fill using female characters. I set turbo on the A button and just leave it be. This way, I get matches completed (and sometimes wins), matches complete with female characters, Buttoned Up (you jump forward to cover with turbo A), Last Man Standing. Pretty decent use of a turbo controller.

4 cheating B******s have the achievement now. They should be banned ASAP.

The reason a few of the requirements are wrong is because they have been taken straight out of the official strategy guide, I assumed these were correct but apparently they're not.

Slim Shady102 should be banned for two reasons: 1) he clearly modded his copy of this game seeing as how he started playing it six days ago and it's physically impossible to complete all onyx medals in six days. 2) he's from NJ [ewww]

Another turbo boosting method. I set up my controller to turbo left stick click to spot an enemy. Put myself in a match with a silver account second controller and have that turbo-ing away! Easy spots!

@ Nikke84 you should take the the videos that the other two guides have and add them under the appropriate medal along with your video. Makes it a lot cleaner looking.

A really easy way to get 1000 Fortification Modifications (Field Engineer Onyx Medal) is to load up Horde on Thrashball with a second player or second controller, have both people acquire Frags on the appropriate round, and when you have a couple thousand dollars built up, have a player build a turret on the stairs. Now during the "off time" between rounds have the second player fire the turret and the first player who wants the medal mash the Y button to reload it. It costs about 20-30 dollars each reload but every reload counts and I was getting about 40 Fortification Modifications per go at it. After the down time is over, each player suicide with their Frags. You lose about 50 dollars for losing a round from what I noticed but you start over near the amount you had before. This also will net you the Infinite Ammo mutator which seems pretty clutch for Insane Arcade Campaign and Insane Horde. Hope this helps.

For Match Winner, if you have a 2nd controller plugged in on the other side while you do the Veteran method, you'll get a lot of wins since your team will be evenly matched against the other bots.

Remember people, Ticker Tuesdays coming up soon, so if you want to beat horde on insane easily, id save it for that.

I've got an easy strategy for beating beast mode on insane without dying. Needless to say, you will need five players working together. For the first few waves, have 3 people as wild tickers and 2 as savage drones. The tickers will clear out the barriers for the drones, and after the barriers are down, they will switch to explosive tickers and help take out the humans. Later on, when everyone has more money, the tickers will switch to serapedes and at least one drone will save up to become a berserker for the final round. The berserker won't last long, but they should destroy enough barriers and distract the onyx guards long enough for the serapedes to get kills. (One of our teammates wasn't listening and occasionally became a boomer or a kantus. We still managed to beat it without failing, so there is flexibility with this plan.)

Tickers work really great in general, especially in pairs. They run up to a group, then one explodes downing the humans, the other explodes killing them. We did that quite a lot.

Ok I have a question i just beat arcade on insane but the warmonger onyx medal never unlocked.Do I have to beat arcade on 4 seperate difficulties?Someone plz respond because im tired of the campaign.

It looks like someone did something about our cheaters who "completed" this game 1000/1000 already... On Xbox Live, all of their achievements are at 0/whatever even though they have a gamerscore. Good.

I think you can earn the Founder Ribbion more then once in a single horde match i think you just need to wait so if you buy the first one on 1-10 you have to wait to buy the next one on 11-20. Not to sure, i will try to get back to you on this.

This achievement will take a year of regular Gears 3 gaming, with boosting i suppose that could be halved.

All those who say "have fun wasting your life" should question why are they reading and reply to achievement guides they have no interest in getting.... and claiming others are wasting their lives!

Some people are at or are near Lv.100 already, so I wouldn't doubt it if people had this legitimately by the end of the year.

I'm lvl 99 and I have only 13 onyx medals, the rank takes almost no time compared to the 18k+ games you have to play. Skunker and Leader will be the two most time consuming medals. I'm just going for those two as fast as I can and work on kills on the way.

Considering this is a really long achievement and a really long guide, you could add for example a table of contents to CTRL+Find the medals you're missing, and perhaps put a total of medals in front of the gametype. E.g. Versus (X/65), X being the number of medals. You get a thumbs up for the effort, I know what it's like to keep track of a long solution, but this one will be a drag.

Can you get the Skunk ribbon set to 2 rounds and with only 1 bot? I see specific ribbons are required with bots set to fill, but no mention of this in the Skunk method.

You can't, you get progress towards skunker by getting "Never had a chance" ribbons.

first off its bots. if you cant skunk a team of bots that sad. but anyway i have 7 onyx medals. 2 campaign(insane on arcade which also gave me insane on standard). 4 beast mode(1100 kills i got 2 times, heal 1500 people as kantus, 1 mil gained in beast, and beating it on insane without failing) and 1 onyx in horde (build 1000 fortifications)

The bots are not hard to kill the hard part about it is the 5000 rounds that you will have to play just for the onyx.

For Cover (gold) you need 200 Buttoned Up ribbons, not 300.

@i love cheese 2, are you simply implying at my question that i cant skunk a team full of bots?LOL. I asked this question because when doing the KOTH match boosting, I was going to set it to 2 rounds instead of one. For quick KOTH matches, all you need is a second controller idle on the other team , with 1 insane bot on yours so you will get a win every single time, along with a quick match completed. (MAX 3 minutes) If i set the bots to fill, the matches wouldn't be so quick, let along I wont get a win every single time. You sir are a douche!

Hey OP/all, just thought i would clarify "Force Multiplier" as i think the title can be deceptive. At first i was confused by this as the word maintain to me said that it needed to be consecutive, but this is not the case. Provided you finish the level with a blue flashing COG symbol with the x10 inside it you will get credit towards this medal. The only way on the suggested level is for no deaths and to take down at least 2 Reavers and all 4 gas barges. Also, sometimes if you get a barge low on health the drones commit suicide with a badly timed Boomshot making the x10 unachievable that run. I have done this on casual and insane (insane better for points, also helping towards "King of COG" medal, but second controller sometimes dies negating progress towards "Survivalist" medal).

I just want to point out that for the "Number 1" Medal you dont have to shoot anything in the prologue, if you tie with the second controller player number 1 will always ean the ribbon,

Is it faster to do Act2 Ch7 than it is to do the Prologue, or are you talking about an alternative way even to that?

I found ways to get 2 of the onyx medals more efficiently, one of them is for the Leader medal, the other is for the Architect medal.

Leader: Using a second controller, if you start a 2 round private CTL match and in the lobby keep your main account (p1) on the top of the team when switching the second account (p2) to the same team (doesn't matter which, and remember the lobby has to be set as "filled"), this somehow ensures that you get to be the leader on the first round. Then you just don't get captured to get progress towards the medal. You can do 1 out of two things afterwards.
1) Continue cycling 2 round matches, (p1) will be leader at least every other match (meaning 1:3 chances instead of 1:4 when in 5 round matches.), plus you get more matches in.
2) Go to main menu and start a new one if you only need the Untouchable ribbons.

Architect: Using 2 controllers again, just start a private horde match on Insane, start a command post, let (p1) and (p2) get killed. Then restart from the first wave and set up a new command post. Rinse and repeat.

Small request, but when you update this guide, could you just give a short summary at the top, with the date, of what exactly you've updated? I refresh the guide about 1x a day and if it shows that you edited it recently, I try and scan it and go from memory when trying to figure out what you've added/changed. I find the guide super helpful and an update section at the top would be great in finding if you've entered new/better info for any medals. Thanks!

a great way to get "button up" medals and skunker when playing CTL. use the two controller method mentioned by Redodua. one thing to remember is once you have the second player signed in you should back out to the main start screen (where it just says start before it creates a party) then hit start with your 2nd controller (works with guest sign in or silver local account) you cant look at your main accounts stats this way but if you play 2 round matches then every round following the completion of the first your main account will be the leader for the first round of every subsequent match. now since you have to play these anyway first thing I do is take cover with my primary character (should be leader) as soon as that happens go capture the enemy leader with the second controller (make sure your on casual as you are putting your team a man down with the idle controller) once you win the first round you should see the "untouchable" ribbon pop then on the second round take your primary account an go capture the leader to get "never had a chance" for the skunker medal and "captive-ating" for the capture leaders medal. you should also have gotten a "button up" ribbon since you spent half the match in cover while as the leader. this way has also gotten me the MVP medal for the match almost every single time. I played this way for 50 min and got 13 of each of the mentioned ribbons (plus first blood most of the time) the longest time to complete a match (including the 30 seconds before and after each match) was 6:25 (this was because i lost the second match and they kept capturing the friendly leader in the last match. the average for the 13 matches played was about 3:06 with my quickest match clocking in at 2:36 (as i went i found out its quite possible on casual to run past all the bots and melee the leader down and with 10sec hold time they don't react quick enough to save her so some rounds only last 30 sec. (this is also a good time to "spot" enemies while you are waiting for the 10 sec to run up. sorry for the long winded comment but hope this helps some people

For idle CtL, I set it up as me and insane bot vs 2nd player. The bot is the leader and he isn't bothering to capture the other leader, so I've instead set it up as me + player 2 vs 2 insane bots. The non-leader bot comes right at us and win each match in about a minute. I'd prefer to get match wins, so what do I need to do to get my bot to cap the other leader each time?

Actually there IS something we can do about JUNIOR CAPETA. And I already did it. You clearly cheat. I've counted over 300 achievements you unlocked on 12/25/10 and over 150 on 8/8/10. You obviously gamesave you piece of crap. I reported you to the site admin and you WILL be banned from the site in no time flat.......

s, firstly if you have it, activate super reload and infinite ammo. I can confirm this method works solo but you will not earn various ribbons and medal progression. So why not be kind, invite a friend, maybe someone who has the mutators if you do not. Next start up chapter 3 act 1 on normal difficulty. The first gate is trivial but be prepaired for the second gate. Therefore at the beginning of the chapter skip the cut scenes until you take control of you character, pick up some frags and head up the left hand stairs. When you come to the outside bit there should be a boomshot on the floor behind you, it will not have infinite ammo (this mutator only works for starting weapons and snub pistol), pick this up for your gnasher and hold on to the ammo. Next just blitz the guys below until you see the catapult appearing in the background. At this point you run back to gate two spraying all but one bullet from the lancer, if your lucky pick up some more boomshot ammo. Get into cover against the wall, and if need be tell player two to get into cover behind you where they cannot get shot. When the locust breach the front gate you will get a quick cut scene. From here player two can remain ideal. Active reload and spray down the inbound locust. Blind fire normal bullets, active reload and repeat. The AI usually take care of the grapplers but stay vigilant. There is usually more than enough time to take out the locust infantry below before the maulers and grinders rock up. You've now got so many options to take these guys out, x4 frags, super reloaded lancer and pistol, dropping the gas tanks on them overhead by shooting them and finally active reload on boomshot gives you great damage and a few extra shots. I like to blind fire one off, active reload and then as soon as I hear they are coming fire a shot at their spawn, usually nets me a couple of hailmarys (towards the associated mutator, which would be a good one to activate for this grind). You get a stack of medals, points and progression towards other medals, your friend will also benefit too. NB. There are quicker methods by far for some of these medals, but its all progress right. All that's left to do is wait for the chapter summary to end and in that second or two before you see the checkpoint hit start button and select restart from checkpoint...back at the second gate, ready to active reload, friend/second controller safe in cover and a full arsenal ready to grind some locust. May the force be with you!

Firstly blind firing off a boomshot is not a youthamism, although I may adopt that. Secondly, just thought that when you have a good idea, odds are someone else has beat you to it, and his name is real impulse, check out his guide under the associated achievement. Finally awesome guide, seriously 3.0 got an initial F*** you when I first saw the requirements, but its growing on me, a bit like a tumour on the brain...its all I can think about. You can Onxy Number 1, Aficionado, Survivor and King of COG in about 3 hours using that video... its pretty genius and very fast.

@ people who hate this achievement, they planned on this being the last gears game, the game will still be able to be played 10 years from now (assuming no f'd up shit), this achievement is for the die hard achievement hunters and for those who love the shit out of gears and will be playing it and having fun with it for years.

Ferrara: No real good method I'm afraid, I keep replaying wave 10 on casual with super reload on.

Top 5 hard onyx medals, 1. Wingman, 2. Old Schooler, 3. Vengeful, 4. Skunker, 5. Heavy Weapon's, these will take the longest

i would probably throw leader in there instead of old schooler, im at about 1200 and its been absolutely painful getting that high. i do think that skunker is a hell of a lot worse then vengeful, im eager to see what the patch changes if we see it anytime soon...

All those are easy as pie. Have Onyx in those except for Vengeful. Vengeful is the worst and seriously would be 100x easier without it...

so for idle boosting nikke suggests using an auto fire controller that fires the a button to run into a barrier and then hide behind it for the buttoned up ribbon. Does anyone have any recommendations for a cheap auto fire controller that works on the A button? I see all sorts of mega expensive auto fire controllers that do all sorts of programs and things, but they only mention auto fire on the triggers.

I updated my shared checklist to reflect the good news 1500 untouchable ribbons was ridiculous. especially considering you only needed 500 for Sovereign

I don't mind at all the time and dedication this will take. I would like to have something that the "passer by's" of gears of war can't boost in no time. I think it truly separates gears fans from gamerscore fans and I don't plan to get this this year, probably sometime in 2012. My biggest fear is putting in the time and effort, just for epic to diminish the requirements for completionists. I would love to hear a solid promise from Rod that they won't destroy the integrity of the achievement down the road.

That's 67,200 kill-centric medals, and of course you'd need many, many more than that to earn the achievement. Honestly, I don't see how anyone would even attempt to earn this. It seems like you'd need to spend years playing this game exclusively. And for what? A digital reward that means literally nothing? I'd rather play other games, read books, and have a life during the time it would take to earn this.

@blue silk, you only need 3 xbox's and a few hours of free time a night. Its entirely possible to do it if you only play gears. But with so many great games out I can't stay focused on gears. Once I get my third copy I may just start hitting it hard.

I've been playing Gears Of War 3 everyday since it came out, and I'm only at 46 Onyx Medals, the only way I could see them getting it now is with 5 Xboxs, 10 Controllers and no school/work.

that would depend on your play vs idle times, i only have 1 xbox and 2 controllers yet the only medal i boosted on here was heavy weapons because i really did not want to do that vs bots. also take out about 200 skunkers and 400 wingman matches as ive been in sessions for those buts its really not that hard to believe that people are getting it legit without multiple consoles. on the other hand i did get 1500 untouchables the day before it was changed so that was alot of wasted time.

currently i have 59 onyx. 99% of the time my xbox has ran since it came out doing something.

I'm only at 47 Onyx Medals, trying to get Skunkers, Retro Lancer Kills and Execution matches done all at the same time. I only get about 7 hours weekdays to boost and thats if I don't have homework... And it seems in this game 7 hours can't even get you a Weapon Medal...

progression, i dont go from 0 to onyx in a day. ive had everything sitting at atleast gold for ages now. i think my last 4 onyx were pistols, skunkers, heavy weapons and warzone. i had a period where for like a week or 2 i didnt get a single onyx but it seems when it rains it pours so im getting onyx after onyx. it also helps to not work on the same thing all day, day after day. gets old fast so change it up from weapons to modes.

try to make sure you time manage so you can get the most out of everything. ive seen people with most weapons onyxed and all game modes onyxed yet 0 progess on skunkers, its like they didnt look at the bigger picture. if i had knew that leader was going to change from 1500 to 300 i wouldnt have spent so much time on it.

im not sure if i will be the next to get seriously 3.0, im aiming to have it by tuesday next week.

You're just being an ignorant ass, I've spent around ~4 hours per day playing this game since I got it and idle boosted pretty much 95% of the time I havn't been playing. There are 24 hours on a day, plenty of time to do something else like work/school, friends, family. It's all about devotion and priority, I choose to play this instead of anything else on my 360 or watch TV shows, reading books or whatever most people do in their home and I'm sure the same goes for the three people on this site who legitemately unlocked it. You know you don't have the patience to devote yourself to earn this achievement so you're trying to bring us down to your level. keep trying bro, if it helps you sleep at night.

Not sure of which of the above strong worded comments were for me, but I assure you I wasn't criticizing Nikke or anyone. I appreciate the guide and really meant it friendly, like, "hell, you would probably have this by now if you weren't busy helping everyone", which blue silk easily pointed out was wrong.

This guide is among the top if not the most helpful here on TA so thanks for all the effort you and so many others put into all of this to try and make other's time easier. Makes my efforts to help others with Black Ops Zombies achievements seem like nothing.

Finished horder, big money, 3 different game types and hard target. After finishing wingman I had like 5 ctl games, 20 execution games and 1300 warzone games.

I have now hit level 100, and it would appear that every medal you earn after that point gives only 1000XP (I've earned at least 3 and all have been 1000XP). I'm not mad. You exploit an obvious bug in the system to get an achievement, it's not legit, it's that simple. Judging by your reaction, obviously you spent a lot more time thinking about this than I have and trust me, I would NOT want to be know as that guy that got this achievement legit first. I'll get it once the 30th event rolls and I'll be perfectly happy with that. As far as getting banned, we can link Epic to the solution guide that very specifically teaches you how to exploit a glitch and see what they think.

I use the forums, and EPIC already said that it was their fault and there not going to ban anyone for it. Also no matter what you did the glitch was still there, what you expect people to stop playing Gears Of War 3 until it's fixed? It was there for like 2-3 weeks, doubt anyone is gonna stop playing Gears Of War 3 just for a glitch.

Many gaming companies consider boosting an unfair advantage over others and many have took to banning over it, just because epic hasn't started does not mean that they are for it. If you say you are "legit" you better know that that means you never once boosted with others or another controller. With the insane requirements for this achievement I doubt anyone will ever be able to call themselves a "legitimate" owner of S 3.0.

Killing bots, using multiple controllers and multiple Xboxs does not make you a cheater, it does not break the contract you made with Microsoft. Since achievements are 100% Microsoft the most EPIC can do is ban me from getting EXP. Like Bungie did to me, I got banned from getting EXP for two weeks after I finished getting all the achievements...

I am not talking about bots as they were put in the game and Epic obviously intended for people to play with them. You stated and I quote, " Legit - Legitimate; legal; conforming to the rules". For someone to be legitimate they must abide by the rules not only of microsoft but also of Epic. Again epic has not been big about banning for boosting, modding, or glitching but if they knew a person or group was excessivley doing so they would start banning just as halo and black ops have done in the past. Just because achievements are as you say 100% microsoft does not mean you get to jump around Epic's rules and still be legitamate. By that logic I could go and mod in GoW and still be legitamate. If you can find an official statement from Epic saying they are not against boosting then you are conforming to their rules and are legitamate but I highly doubt that they would be for it.

I have found many people saying that they get banned for AFK boosting and private match boosting therefore that means they broke one of Epic's rules but then I have also heard many say that Epic will not give you any penalty at all. It is really hard to find out if they consider boosting cheating as Epic has never really adressed it as far as I know.

Epic set the rules by programming the achievements, nothing you say can change that. If they wanted the rules to be different, then they would program the achievements to be different.

And that anyone ever been banned from Gears 3 for idle boosting is very much bullshit, some developer even tweeted that they had no intention to care for what anyone does in private matches as long as there are no 3rd party tools involved.

I would imagine if they didn't want S3.0 achieved with bot boosting, they would make the requirements online versus only, similar to the "foreshadowing" achievement. Much respect to anyone that ever earns this without private matches, yet that doesn't seem remotely possible; who the hell would get "vengeful" legit?

I'm getting so frustrated with Seriously 3.0! I've been doing Skunker boosting for two weeks now, and i've done about 50 hours of boosting and I'm only at 1650! These dam bots keep on doing the cheapest shit!

Don't know if it's been mentioned but mortars and frag grenades also count as explosive kills. Also, Hammer of Dawn counts as a fire kill.

I'd just like to mention that I've found the best way to idle boost CTL is with two controllers and /three/ bots.

With one bot on the opposition team they will always be leader and run out into the map, where your two should easily, and quickly, be able to capture them.

Easiest way to beat Beast on Insane is on Trenches - Everyone pick Drones and run into the middle, most of the humans will be in there waiting for you. As soon as the Kantus is unlocked, have one player switch to heal the others and find a good place to hide depending on the base layout. You could complete the game like this, but it's easier again if two people change from Drones to Boomers when available. The Kantus should also change to the armoured Kantus when available. You could Berserker if you want, but there's not much need.

Thanks to the new Title Update, Warzone idle boosting is impossible... Instead of losing the round with your dead team, as long as you are still alive, you get nothing but stalemates and never end the match.

The quickest way for me to earn it now is to get 2 controllers on the same team, enable friendly fire and get them to smoke tag each other and bleed out for 5 seconds. It makes the match end in 10 seconds!

I hope EPIC fix their shit. They're just making game settings worse.

@Diamond Thing: there's a 'Classic Stalemate' option in the private match configurations (the same one where you set the number of bots and round limits). Set it to 'Off' to get rid of that annoying behaviour.

@iBe Tubzz: The big problems are the big maps. The bots glitch out and don't move on maps like Sandbar, meaning nobody dies. Nobody wins. Endless game. :( Even weapons don't seem to get their attention.
You may sometimes if lucky get last man out, but mostly the bots won't come after you even if all your team is dead. As long as you are alive, you cannot end the match. Epic needs a slap to the face. They are abusing their costumers with awful updates and aren't focusing on the key problems.

Since there aren't a lot of people playing this list, it's easy to get in a match full with bots.

Tip for headshots: Its boring and tedious but its the quickest way as far as i know.

With 2 controllers go into KOTH with no bots and change all weapons to longshot, choose the checkout map.

All you have to do is go the the raised portion of the map and pick up the longshot, from that spot you can see all 4 spawn zones, but most of the time the other controller will spawn behind you.

If you have more than 2 controllers even better as quicker and more kills, also better if theres a few of you taking turns as more people to kill in quicker time.

If you had to take advantage of a glitch in order to get an achievement, I don't think you have earned it "legit". Therefore, since nobody can technically have the onyx war supporter yet i don't think anyone has truly earned this achievement. But if you have boosted and have every other onyx medal --- well than I give you props cuz i only have about 15 so far.

Im afraid Diamond Thing is right... The option doesnt exist with Warzone and to make matters worse it doesnt work property with Execution either. Whenever both teams have the same amount of players the moment the times up, its a stalemate on Execution, with stalemates disabled. Whenever said amount is different, the team with most players wins. The only thing this option does is prevent a stalemate from happening in that case.

So, basically idle boosting takes more than twice as much time now. Yay for Epic on this one...

There seems to be some kind of really lame anti-boost method in place for the Doorman medal that prevents you from just sitting in one spot and hammering the X button. After seeing the notification that I had 1800/2000 for onyx, I started counting my button presses, and counted 800 interactions before hitting it a few more times and quitting to menu to check it. Stats screen said I had 1996/2000.

Apparently, when sitting in one spot and hammering the X button, every 5 interactions counts once toward the Doorman medal.

the best way to boost headshot kills AND explosive kills is in my opinion the torgue bow....
if you get a headshot you will also gain 1 kill towards the explosive kills

I second what Mobias Evalon said: I too had this uncanny feeling I was doing way more button presses than what was counted. A well, its still doable.

Ackter's CTL idle method does work, just set three bots to insane with a guest on the other team and two bots on your team. Pretty much the matches went like this:
COG-
-Me (sleeping)
-Bot 1 (Leader; running around trying not to get captured and taking random shots at the enemy leader)
-Bot 2 (On offense; ran around chasing the enemy leader)

Locust-
-My guest (not moving)
-Bot 3( Enemy Leader; running around but always got captured by Bot 2)

Just set the bleed-out time to 10 seconds instead of 5 seconds so that Bot 2 has enough time to run over to Bot 3 before they can get back up. Also, if you don't want to play CTL after getting the onyx medal then be sure not to exceed 1500 matches played so that you have enough room for Sovereign.

I need help, although he was 4 onix I renewed my level. When I picked up all onix I was at level 70, I arrived yesterday at level 100 (green) achievement not pop up. :/

@DAVID7741: prestige an onyx medal. Its been reported you have to unlock your last onyx medal while being level 100 in order to unlock Seriously 3.0. So choose your favorite. ;)

And another thing: great job getting the achievement requirements! Im not even half way there. :P

I found a very fast method for getting the onyx Field Engineer medal, which you can also use to earn the Infinite Ammo mutator if you have not already.

Firstly, make sure you have unlocked at least a level 1 turret in Horde. I was confused for the longest time as to why all these people were talking about fixing a turret and I didn't have one, but you need to play horde and spend tons of cash on fortifications until it unlocks. It takes about $75000 (or approximately 19 waves on casual) -- just buy and repair everything between rounds until you're broke.

Once you have a turret unlocked, choose any map you like, but I prefer Thrashball or Checkout just because there exists a turret six feet from the base you spawn near. Have your buddy (or second controller, as I did it) give you all their cash right at the start. Go buy the command post right near your spawn, then immediately go buy the turret. Have your buddy (or second controller) hop on by pressing X, then unload the turret into the ground.

Now here's the good part -- every button press counts toward the Field Engineer medal, so hammer the Y button as quickly as you can. You'll notice your cash depletes and the turret icon flashes as quickly as you mash the button, so you'll onyx this medal in no time. I got 85-95 fortifications toward the medal each time.

Once the countdown stops and the wave begins, exit to menu and repeat, or just play on insane and let the horde kill you to restart the wave. You'll onyx the Field Engineer medal in about 15 minutes.

If you have Re-upped at least once, you do not have to be a level 100 anymore to unlock Seriously 3.0. I was a red level 90 when I unlocked Seriously 3.0.

OP can't join his own board. He used a second controller (hence not making his Seriously 3.0 legit).

You should add on the veteran medal that you need to turn off classic stalemate to avoid a lot of ties

For boosting CTL medals it is MUCH faster to use 3 bots with insane difficulty. I found that having the one bot as your teammate means it will always be leader and spend quite a bit of time running around trying to avoid your second idle controller. With three bots the matches end in less than a minute and you win almost every time. In my last idle session I won 135 of 138 matches!

Would everyone shut the hell up about him and others who've gotten this using Idle boosts or second controllers as either cheaters or as someone who didn't get this legit!! Thing is, you still have to play the game for A LOT of hours, it's not like he used some crazy glitch or exploit. If you want to get it "Legit" and only do so online, good for you, more power to you, but the funny thing is, no one will be able to differentiate between those who only played online or those who did idle boosts, the achievement looks the same. So in the end, it comes down to people taking your word that you got it "legit".

Hey does anyone know if difficulty matters for the Big Money ribbon? Or do points=money no matter what?

@NY MeTs if you're referring to a ribbon, you're in the wrong thread, look for "I've Done It All". If you're referring to the Big Money medal, then no, difficulty does not matter. Higher waves i.e. bigger enemies net more money. Difficulty determines the worth of that money and xp. Use mutators and keep instagib meleeing berzerkers and maulers.

BEST METHOD FOR IDLE WINGMAN 1 xbox only

Only thing you will need is 2 controllers and a rubberband.

Settings

Points: 10
Bots: 2
Bot Diff: Insane
Round Time: 3 minutes
FF: Off
All weapons Boomshots or disabled

Now after getting your second profile signed in, go forward to starting the game with those settings. When you get to the screen where you can switch teams, put both your second controller and you on one COG team, and the other two bots on THE OTHER COG TEAM, that is the most important bit.

The reason why is that the cog team will start very close by to you, versus the locust will start across the map.

After the game has loaded, rubberband one of the controllers joysticks together (so that you run in a circle) so the bots can spot you easier.

By what people have been testing it seems like the average round time for anything besides sandbar or trenches is about 30-40 seconds, making each match about 2-3 minutes.

You will get almost double the matches played versus just using the regular 2v2 application without putting both on COG teams.

Try it out!!!!

Cliff notes:
1. work on CTL stuff first as it will boost up your pistol/headshot kills
2. work on old-schooler second, use the scorcher in a 240 KOTH on blood drive (down them with the scorcher then stomp)

3. after that work on the kills for weapons you use the least up to the ones you use the most (for instance I use hammer burst the least so I work on that first and I use gnasher most so I save that for last)

Method A: if you have 2 or 3 consoles/copies of the game your fastest method is to setup 1v3 or 1v5 team death match on small map with 35 lives. obviously set all weapons to the one you want to boost.

Method B: If you only have 1 console 240 KotH filled with casual bots on Thrashball (60 bleed out and weapon respawn: after use)
Here you grab the weapon at the smoke grenade spawn, then the one at the heavy weapon spawn. Shoot down the enemies from this position but leave at least one shot left. while you wait for the weapon to respawn you can work on kills for starting weapons). This works for everything but shotguns (in that case just pick a smaller map like checkout and chase down the enemies)

supposedly averages on the low side around 300 kills/hour with the hammer burst to 900 kills/hour with the hammer of dawn, most weapons net about 400-500 kills/hour

@ Wolf, I've always put them on insane. Seems like luck of the draw on those huge maps, some nights i'll only get 60-70, other times I'll get well over 100, just depends what maps come up.

Boomshots seem to work best versus the disabled, but either way still works

How do I beat the campaign on Insane for arcade mode? I already beat it for the regular campaign. Is there like any difficulty glitch like the regular campaign where three play on causal and one plays on insane?

@WL It depends on Epic supporting the game after Judgement. I think there are around 24 or 25 weeks left before Judgement assuming they release it mid Feburary. There are alot of variables I may be wrong on the release date, they may change the event schedule, they may delay Judgement, continue support etc. Lastly as of now you have to play 30 unique events which could be changed to only 30 events not unique ones.

I've recently been wondering this: will this achievement eventually become unobtainable?

Considering Socialite medal, I accidently got it 3 times when one of the glitch events happened (the very first digger event) when I was idling. I know many people that do not have the 30 events, and people are constantly starting to grind this now the Judgement is to far away, but I keep thinking that it will all be futile for them in the end due to no more events.

Very curious to see how this will turn out, as for me: 37/65, still a ways to go!

If I choose to re-up but don't have all the onyx medals, do I still get the achievement when I get all 65 medals or do I need to hit 100 again with all 65 onyx medals?

You do NOT need to be dead on 100 when you get all onyx medals, as long as you hit 100 the first time you are good to re-up to your hearts content as it should pop when you get all 65 medals.

You don't need more than 1 Xbox to do this achievement, if you do then you suck. Playing against casual bots is better because they are ALWAYS available to play and don't require extra unnecessary electricity nor do you need to buy another copy of the game.

Electricity is hardly a concern, I'd say the bigger problems are buying extra copies and gold accounts. Besides, this is one of the few games that use guest accounts that let you sign in extra controllers on the same console. I don't know about anybody else, but all I used was one guest controller for match types so I could unbalance the 1 or 2 insane bots to my team.

If you are going for Skunkers by playing the matches (and perhaps combining weapon kills), I can confirm that stalemates DO NOT negatively affect Skunker progress.
For example;
If you have a 2round game of Warzone and you win round 1, but then get a stalemate in round 2, by then winning round 3, you will still get credit towards Skunker.

I've never had two Xbox 360s to work with in the past, but I am buying a second one very, very soon thanks to some extra income (and the fact that my fiancée always wants the TV when I want to use it...). I was wondering what kind of things I can easily boost by myself with two consoles. I am at 41/65 onyx. Medals I still need to work on include:

-Starting weapon, pistol, heavy weapon, explosive kills
-Headshots
-Executions/curbstomps
-Skunker
-Guardian (rescue leader)
-KOTH, TDM, Wingman matches
-First bloods

My method for Heavy Weapons kills

-Warzone
-Gridlock
-15 Rounds
-Bots set to fill and Casual
-All weapons disabled besides longshot, replace it with the oneshot
-1 minute round duration

When the match starts rush the longshot spawn in the tower which will be replaced by a one shot. Since the bots are casual they'll be running slow so you'll get there way before they do. As all weapons are disabled besides the oneshot, they'll all be rushing you, usually in a straight line, so you can pick up all five kills incredibly easily with the oneshot, usually a triple then two singles.

Now sometimes you won't get them all with just three shots, but that's fine. I average between 70-75 oneshot kills each match out of a 75 kill total. Each match takes between 7-8 minutes depending on how accurate you are, if you're hitting quins a lot then you're gonna fly through.

This is easily the fastest method I know, so give it a try, and good luck!

bit hypocritical isn't it? "I'm making a leader board for people who have seriously 3.0 legit, and here's how to do it with a turbo controller, a second controller, leaving Xbox on all night etc. etc ... that's not legit !

If you want to spend years busting your ass to get Seriously 3.0 in legitimate online matches, then that's your prerogative and the rest of us don't care. If we want to finish it in 3 months and play better games, then that's our prerogative and you shouldn't care.

^There isn't really a "legit" way of getting this achievement, no matter what medal you are doing, you will eventually resort to using the quickest method to get things done, and if you have the resources (another xbox, turbo controller, etc.) why not use them. Unless you want to literally play this game for the rest of your life, you will have to result to other methods, than "legit" ways.

For example: I've played this game almost daily since its release (public TDM) since then I only accrued 1,800 matches out of the 3000, and that is only ONE gametype out of five.

Something like eighty percent of Seriously 3 can be done without any effort on your own part. The Xbox can be left idle and/or you can get into sessions where you do one-fifth or lesser of the total work for 100% of the gain.

Though, anybody who does this completely in legit multiplayer most definitely does not have a life.

well i beat the game insane arcade mode and it only unlocked casual mode for me in the medals when I should of got the onyx medal, i got the onyx medal for beating the campaign. Any suggestions??? am i glitched or something?
