There are only fifteen shrines, which means that you can't miss any, unless you employ a tactic listed under "The Ring of Hirscine." This is the only missable achievement in the game but it's also one of the most fun. You'll get a lot of awesome gear (specifically the Ebony Mail), have a few good laughs, and also get extremely frustrated (if you don't follow this guide wink).

The list is in alphabetical order by the name of the artifact. Mission names are provided, level Requirement, whether they're missable or not, and glitches.

If there are some glitches you came across and I do not have them listed, please post them in the comments and I'll add them in.

The amount of information provided on how to do the missions will vary from mission to mission, depending on if I find it necessary or not. Things that have minimal descriptions are either easy or are too simple and not worth describing, i.e. Dawnbreaker has you retrieve a beacon, return it, then go through a dungeon. Simple.

Note #1: Skeleton Key does NOT count for this achievement. If you obtain the Skeleton Key before any other artifact, you do not unlock
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Daedric Influence The Daedric Influence achievement in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim worth 12 pointsAcquire a Daedric Artifact
.

Note #2: You do not need to have every artifact in your inventory at the same time to unlock them.

Note #3: I apologize that the picture quality isn't perfect but it's also better than nothing. Also, there is a way to get this achievement by doing only fourteen of the fifteen quests. Go to "The Ring of Hirscine" to see how.

Tip: Save often. Even if I haven’t listed any glitches, the game itself can be awfully glitchy. You never know when you could accidentally die or glitch after having gone through an excessive amount of work. Again, SAVE OFTEN!

The Black Star or Azura's Star
Mission Name: The Black Star
Missable: No
Level Requirement: None
Glitches: None

To start this quest, head over to Azura's Shrine, which is directly south of Winterhold on top of a mountain. Click here for a picture of the location. You can, by the end of the quest, get one of two possible items (Black Star or Azura’s Star), either of which is fine for the achievement.

Dawnbreaker
Mission Name: The Break of Dawn
Missable: No
Level Requirement: Level 12 or higher
Glitches: None

To start this quest, head over to the Statute of Merida, which is west of Solitude. Click here for a picture of the location.

Ebony Blade
Mission Name: The Whispering Door
Missable: No
Level Requirement: Level 20 or higher
Glitches: None

Once you hit level 20, head over to the Bannered Mare (the Inn) in Whiterun and talk to the Innkeeper about rumours until the Innkeeper mentions the Jarl’s trouble with his son, Nelkir. Eventually, you’ll need to obtain a key, which you can pickpocket from the Jarl or Forengar (mage).

A side note: Choosing the Stormcloaks in the civil war quest line does not effect this quest.

Ebony Mail
Mission Name: Boethiah’s Calling
Missable: No
Level Requirement: Level 30 or higher
Glitches: Yes

Once you hit level 30, you can seek out the Boethiah cult. You can find this quest by randomly finding a book called Boethiah’s Proving or finding it on the body of a Boethiah cultist and reading it. There’s also the option of finding the shrine (Sacellum of Boethiah), which can be found in this picture by clicking here.

In this quest, you’re required to sacrifice someone. The easiest way, I found, is to hire a companion (The Bee and Barb in Riften, for example) and take them to the shrine.

There is a very immense glitch with this mission that has been brought to my attention. If you sacrifice your person, the reincarnation of the Boethiah may not take place, making it impossible to finish the quest. Make sure you save before beginning this! Currently, there is no solution or fix for this glitch.

Mace of Molag Bal
Mission Name: House of Horrors
Missable: No
Level Requirement: None
Glitches: Yes

You need to have left Markarth and return for a second time to activate this quest. When you return the second time and pass the Abandoned House in Markarth, a gentleman named Vigilant Tyranus will be talking with a Nord named Yngvar. When Tyranus is done, he will ask you some questions and eventually you’ll help him through the house. Make sure you save before entering the house as many people have got stuck in the house and not able to leave.

There is also another possible glitch where Vigilant does not show up in front of the house. If you have this problem then go out the main door of Markarth and Vigilant should be on the stairs or at the bottom of them. If he isn’t there then check around the stables.

Masque of Clavicus Vile
Mission Name: A Daedra’s Best Friend
Missable: Yes
Level Requirement: Level 10 or higher
Glitches: None

Once you reach level 10, head over to Falkreath and the Imperial Soldier at the entrance will ask you about a dog. Once you’re done speaking with him, he’ll send you over to Lod, the Blacksmith. You’ll eventually find a dog named Barbas and you’ll have to follow him around.

Eventually, once you’ve done the entire quest, you’ll come to a decision: kill Barbas and keep the axe or return the axe and receive the Masque of Clavicus Vile. Take the latter option or you will not get the masque and, by extension, miss the Oblivion Walker achievement. So make sure you do not kill Barbas.

As a side note, you have to follow Barbas to find the daedric shrine. Barbas has awful path finding, so you can just meet him at Haemer’s Shrine, which is south of High Hrothgar’s mountain.

Mehrunes’ Razor
Mission Name: Pieces of the Past
Missable: Yes
Level Requirement: Level 20 or higher
Glitches: None

When you hit level 20, visit a city and a courier will approach you with a message telling you of a new museum opening in Dawnstar. Follow the quest marker and you’ll eventually come to Silus Vesuius’ house, you will see him arguing with a woman. Once that’s finished, go talk to Silus and go see his museum. Eventually, Silus will offer you the quest for the dagger.

Please note that this artifact is MISSABLE. By doing this incorrectly, you will miss the Oblivion Walker achievement. When you get to the end of the quest, you will have the option of killing Silus. Make sure that you kill him or you will not be able to create Mehrunes’ Dagger, which in turn prevents you from earning the Oblivion Walker achievement.

Oghma Infinium
Mission Name: Discerning the Transmundane
Missable: No
Level Requirement: Level 15 or higher
Glitches: None

Try and start this quest early so that you do not have to go out of your way to find the blood of specific races.

While doing the main storyline in Skyrim, you will eventually meet a mage named Septimus Signus, who is located at "Septimus Signus's Outpost." Alternatively, you can find this Outpost without doing the main story. The Outpost is located directly north from the College of Winterhold.

who will give you a quest called “Discerning the Transmundane” that has a “Blood Harvest” requirement. You must harvest the blood of a High Elf, Wood Elf, Dark Elf, Falmer, and Orc. You harvest blood by interacting with the body. When doing so, it will give you the option of harvesting blood from the body.

If you play through the game normally and try to get the rest of Skyrim’s achievements then you will, without a doubt, come across all of these.

As a side note, this is probably the best daedric artifact. Upon reading the book, you have the option of increasing all skills by five levels. What these skills are depends on the path you chose, which are might (one hand, two hand, heavy armour, smithing, and blocking), shadows (alchemy, lock picking, pickpocketing, sneaking and speech), and magic (alteration, conjuration, destruction, enchanting, illusion, and restoration). My personal advice is to wait to use this on skills that are all very high.

Sanguine’s Rose
Mission Name: Night to Remember
Missable: No
Level Requirement: Level 14 or higher
Glitches: Yes

The location of this quest is random. Some other people put specific locations (i.e. Whiterun) but this does not always hold true. Who you’re looking for is a man named Sam Guevenne, who will challenge you to a drinking contest. When you find him and he challenges you, simply participate and the mission goes from there.

As a note, Whiterun is the most common location he is found at. He can be, and has been, found at other Inn locations throughout the other eight major Holds. So if you don’t find Sam at the Bannered Mare in Whiterun then check other inns. Remember, you have to be level 14.

Make sure you save before drinking with Sam, as it is possible that you won't get transported to the temple. Also, do not return to Misty Grove after leaving. Doing so may cause you to be stuck there forever.

Skull of Corruption
Mission Name: Waking Nightmare
Missable: Yes
Level Requirement: None
Glitches: Yes, very glitchy

To begin this quest, go to Windpeak Inn in Dawnstar. Once there, speak with Erandur.

This quest can prevent you from earning the Oblivion Walker achievement. At the end of the quest, you have the option of killing Erandur or not. Kill Erandur or he destroys the Skull of Corruption.

This quest is also very glitchy! Save often. The most common glitch is the disappearance of Erandur when entering the Nightcaller Temple. From my experience, this happens when you skip through his speech to quickly. Let him finish everything he has to say before entering the temple. There are a variety of other errors, so I recommend that you save often throughout the quest just incase.

Spellbreaker
Mission Name: The Only Cure
Missable: No
Level Requirement: Level 10 or higher
Glitches: None

To start this quest, head to the Shrine to Peryite, which is located above Karthwastern in the mountains. Click here for a picture of the location. Once arriving there, you’ll see a Khajit named Kesh. Once you’ve talked to him, he’ll ask you to collect the following: Vampire Dust, Deathbell Flower, Silver Ingot, and Flawless Ruby.

These ingredients, minus flawless ruby, are extremely easy to find. Just head over to your resident alchemy store and they’ll sell the Deathbell Flower and Vampire Dust. For the Vampire Dust, you can also get it by upgrading your alchemy lab for your house.

For the Silver Ingot, head over to a blacksmith, who will sell it. If he/she only has silver ore then buy that and take it to a smelter and smelt it into a silver ingot. The hard one to find is the flawless ruby, which can give some people a headache. Here are some options. Please note there are some spoilers and I will label it as so:
(1) (SPOILER) Hail Sithis! – The last mission of the Dark Brotherhood has you assassinating the Emperor. After you assassinate him, head into his bedroom and check at the foot of the bed. There is a flawless ruby there.
(2) Mining – This is completely random but if you head over to an orc camp called Narzulbur, you’ll find a mine that has a ton of ebony ore. You should invest time to mine all the ebony ore here as you can have over ten Ebony ingots. From mining the Ebony, you will (hopefully) mine a flawless ruby. Mining is the least reliable option.
(3) Delvin Mallroy’s Fishing Job – If you go to the Ragged Flagon, the door over from the Thieves’ Guild, there’s a Breton named Delvin Mallroy, who gives you jobs to bring the Thieves’ Guild back to its former glory. One of the side quests is called a “Fishing Job.” This particular job has you snagging a particular item from a person’s pocket. You’ll eventually come upon a job where you have to steal a flawless ruby. Once you steal this, you can turn in the Daedra quest then complete the Fishing Job afterward.
(4) Treasure Chests – Another random one, similar to mining. If you regularly play the game, you will easily find flawless rubies. I found six by regularly checking treasure chests.
(5) Harrald's Quest - "If you go to the Mistveil Keep in Riften and find a guy named Harrald and do his quest (which takes about 30 seconds) he gives you different gems and they change every time, so make a save before you hand the quest into him and then keep re-loading the save until he gives you a flawless ruby." (credit Bashford)

Also, this artifact is a shield. You may not get a notification that you have received this artifact, so check your inventory once you have completed the quest.

The Ring of Hirscine or Savior’s Hide
Mission Name: Ill Met by Moonlight
Missable: No
Level Requirement: None
Glitches: Yes

To begin this quest, head to Falkreath and talk to Sinding, a man who is jailed up in the Falkreath Jail, which is located downstairs in the Falkreath Barracks. If you have a hard time finding this then there is a way to have a quest marker on the location.

Upon arriving into Falkreath, there will be a funeral. Go ahead and speak to Indara or Mathies. If the funeral is not happening when you enter Falkreath, you can look for them and they will tell you the location of Sinding.
You will come to a point where you either have to kill Sinding or kill the hunters. Either choice will still net you a daedric artifact as killing the hunters will give you Hircine’s blessing and makes the ring uncursed. If you kill Sinding then you get the Hide.

There is a glitch in this quest. You will come to a point where you have to hunt a Great White Stag. If you don’t kill it and let it run away, then it’s entirely possible that the Stag will glitch on top of an unreachable mountaintop. Make sure you kill the Stag the first time you see it!

There is a way to get both artifacts, which will allow you to avoid doing one of the thirteen available daedric artifacts:
"It is entirely possible to obtain both the Ring of Hircine as well as the Savior's Hide. In order to do so, first you must help Sinding eliminate the remaining hunters. After doing so, speak with Sinding to complete his quest objective, then kill him. When you remove his skin, immediately avoid contact with the spirit of the white stag and exit the cave, leading you to Hircine's spectral avatar, which will then reward you with the uncursed Ring of Hircine. Now re-enter the cave and speak with the other spectral stag to receive the Savior's Hide." (uesp.net)

Elestian notes the following: "I, however, failed to avoid the spirit immediately after killing Sinding and instead simply backed out of the dialogue menu and walked away."

Ring of Namira
Mission Name: The Taste of Death
Missable: Yes
Level Requirement: None
Glitches: None

Enter Markarth and go to the Understone Keep. Once there, you can speak to a man named Verulus, which will start you on a miscellaneous quest that has you investigating the Hall. When you’re investigating, a woman named Eola will talk to you. If you do not help Eola then you will miss the Oblivion Walker achievement. DO NOT refuse help to Eola.

Wabbajack
Mission Name: The Mind of Madness
Missable: No
Level Requirement: None
Glitches: None

To start this quest, head over to Solitude and look for a man named Dervenin, who should be near the graveyard. You’ll know who Dervenin is as he has no eyes. From there, just follow the instructions and do the quest.

When you go inside Pelagius’ mind, you have to use the Wabbajack to help make Pelagius sane again. This is how you solve the puzzle:
(1) Dream phase: You’ll know you’re in the dream portion of Pelagius when you see him laying on a wooden bed with a green blanket. Once you’ve found this, it’s time to begin. You will want to shoot everything in this exact order: Pelagius – Wolf – Pelagius – Bandit – Pelagius – Hagraven – Pelagius – Flame Atronach – Pelagius – Dragon Priest. You’re done. Time to move on to the next phase.
(2) Confidence Phase: You’ll come upon Pelagius (named Confidence), who is extremely small and being beat up by a bandit named Anger. Using your Wabbajack, hit Confidence twice and Anger once. This should solve this portion of the puzzle, which leaves you with one more.
(3) Arena Phase: In this part, you will see two Storm Atronachs fighting in an arena. Above the arena is three chairs, one big one in the middle (the throne) that is empty and two other chairs on either side with identical guards in it. Behind or beside the middle throne (this changes) is another person, which is the king. You will want to shoot either guard. It seems that it does not make a difference if you shoot the guard on the right or on the left. In the end, wolves will appear and begin attacking the king then everything disappears, signaling that you have solved it.

Volendrung
Mission Name: The Cursed Tribe
Missable: Yes
Level Requirement: None
Glitches: Yes

This quest will be initiated when you locate Largashbur, an orc encampment located far, far west of Riften and slightly south. Click here for a picture of its location. When you find Largashbur, you will see a giant attacking the orcs. Go ahead and kill the giant and the quest takes off from there. This is another fetching quest, so you’ll need to gather a daedra heart (Shrine of Mehrune from Mehrunes’ Razor quest or near Jorrvaskr in Companion’s Hall in Whiterun) and troll fat (shelf near alchemy set in Hall of Countenance in College of Winterhold). After collecting this stuff, you’ll need to retrieve a giant’s club, so you’ll be fighting a lot of giants. Make sure that you can defeat them or this quest will be a headache.

There is a glitch for this mission. Make sure that you don't allow the giant to kill everyone or else you won't be able to activate the quest. If this does happen, either load up a save before it or follow this solution: "Walk right along the fence till you get to where the rock and the fence meet and jump over the fence there and go talk to the Orc next to the gate" (credit Dustifus).

This quest is also missable if you decide to kill the entire orc encampment. Do not kill everyone or else you cannot get the quest. Also, do not hit an orc with your weapon as this will cause hostility. I am unsure of how to get rid of this hostility. If you know, please post it in the comments.
III INDIGO III VERY nice guide! Positive vote from me. I would only add the location of Septimus Signus north of the college of Winterhold for Oghma Infinium. Even though you meet him in the main storyline, not everyone (like myself) wants to get that far in the storyline before finishing the quests, and your guide doesn't give us the location.
Posted by III INDIGO III on 19 Nov 11 15:56:43
Perpalicious Much appreciated and added.
Posted by Perpalicious on 19 Nov 11 16:08:28
CryStorm Very well written guide!
Posted by CryStorm on 19 Nov 11 17:50:41
Zilding Great guide. As a note, I'm not entirely sure you need to actually GET the artifacts, or simply complete the quests. Volendrung was my last, and the achievement popped when I placed the club on the shrine (before it's 'Volendrung'), and the quest completed. I didn't need to actually pick it up again. Which means it _may_ be possible to still get the achievement if you let Erandur destroy the Skull of Corruption. Somebody would have to have it be their last quest and try and find out. As another note, for 'The Only Cure', I never got a notification that Spellbreaker was placed in my inventory, and Peryite never mentioned it, and for some reason I thought it was a sword, and not seeing it in my inventory, I reloaded my last save and killed the guy again. Once again I got no notification, but I looked it up and saw it was a shield and indeed it was placed in my inventory.
Posted by Zilding on 19 Nov 11 20:08:12
Perpalicious Ah, yeah, I forgot about the lack of notification on Spellbreaker. I had the same thing happen to me, so I've added that in.
Posted by Perpalicious on 19 Nov 11 20:38:57
III INDIGO III Ah another thing... For people who aren't paying attention after hours of quests like me... You have to actually equip the ebony mail to finish the quest!
Posted by III INDIGO III on 19 Nov 11 21:34:15
Elestian Fantastic guide!

Does anyone know whether or not glitching the Ill Met By Moonlight quest to receive both the Ring of Hirscine AND the Savior’s Hide will count two artifacts toward the achievement? I've done so myself, so I guess I'll know soon enough. I'll let you know how it goes. ;)

Edit: It would appear that they do. :D
Posted by Elestian on 20 Nov 11 20:50:32
Perpalicious So you did one less artifact quest and got the achievement?
Posted by Perpalicious on 20 Nov 11 21:27:53
Elestian Exactly. I don't yet have Sanguine’s Rose, but the achievement unlocked. This may serve as an easy way out of starting another playthrough for anyone whose quests have irreversibly glitched.

From uesp.net :
"It is entirely possible to obtain both the Ring of Hircine as well as the Savior's Hide. In order to do so, first you must help Sinding eliminate the remaining hunters. After doing so, speak with Sinding to complete his quest objective, then kill him. When you remove his skin, immediately avoid contact with the spirit of the white stag and exit the cave, leading you to Hircine's spectral avatar, which will then reward you with the uncursed Ring of Hircine. Now re-enter the cave and speak with the other spectral stag to receive the Savior's Hide."

I, however, failed to avoid the spirit immediately after killing Sinding and instead simply backed out of the dialogue menu and walked away.
Posted by Elestian on 20 Nov 11 21:42:35
Perpalicious Thanks for that. I just added that and gave you credit.
Posted by Perpalicious on 20 Nov 11 22:00:10
Delicate Donut I don't see why the game guide says that the skeleton key DOES count towards the achievement
Posted by Delicate Donut on 22 Nov 11 00:44:36
Perpalicious It doesn't and it's probably an error. Also, to my knowledge, PRIMA does not list the skeleton key under the daedra artifacts portion of their guide, at least according to their website.
Posted by Perpalicious on 22 Nov 11 02:14:17
Delicate Donut When I read it I was still hopeful as I didn't kill erandur and therefore did not get the skull of corruption.
Posted by Delicate Donut on 22 Nov 11 14:30:47
Perpalicious You're still able to get the achievement as noted in this guide by getting both the ring and the hide from Hirscine.
Posted by Perpalicious on 22 Nov 11 16:48:48
SecondHeartbeat Do you have to have 15 in your inventory at the same time for it to unlock?
Posted by SecondHeartbeat on 22 Nov 11 17:41:39
Perpalicious No, I'll mention that in the guide.
Posted by Perpalicious on 22 Nov 11 17:52:55
falconIZE For the Boethiahs Calling quest every time I sacrifice someone Boethiah takes over their body and then just stands there I can never talk to her like it says. I've reloaded and tried different NPC's and nothing works, any hints?
Posted by falconIZE on 22 Nov 11 19:01:21
Perpalicious Have you tried hiring a companion and telling them to touch the stand so that they're trapped in the force field?
Posted by Perpalicious on 22 Nov 11 19:18:45
falconIZE Yeah, I've told them to touch it and after I sacrifice them Boethiah takes over the body and say a couple sentences. But when I try to talk to her she just repeats herself
Posted by falconIZE on 22 Nov 11 19:23:00
Perpalicious Unfortunately this seems to be a common glitch and is unfixable. Do you have a save before being given the quest to find a sacrifice? If so, try going back that far or maybe even further back.
Posted by Perpalicious on 22 Nov 11 19:56:34
walley118 havve done all the quest and had all the artifact but no achivo what bullshit
Posted by walley118 on 22 Nov 11 22:05:13
EggBigot Boethiahs Calling not working for me.
Posted by EggBigot on 23 Nov 11 01:47:40
falconIZE Yeah I've tried loading multiple saves before it and it never works
Posted by falconIZE on 23 Nov 11 03:22:33
Stoner Graeme also going through this problem, i can get over a few glitches in a game but goddamnit bethesda, you think you guys can finish a game before releasing it?
Posted by Stoner Graeme on 23 Nov 11 04:22:49
Perpalicious Sorry, guys. Try doing other quests before then going back to that one.
Posted by Perpalicious on 23 Nov 11 12:51:24
MagnumZero Damn it! I let that one idiot destroy that skull. I guess I'll have to try and glitch that Ring of Hircine one to get 15 now. :/
Posted by MagnumZero on 23 Nov 11 17:03:45
Foitleman Does anyone know if the achievement counts across multiple playthroughs? I got three of the artifacts but when I tried the Walking Nightmare one it glitched but awhile ago but I decided to move on. I guess we'll see what happens when Bethesda puts out the update after Thanksgiving if it fixes my problem but i don't know if i should continue and get the other artifacts or if I should start a new playthrough since this is the only achievement i don't have
Posted by Foitleman on 24 Nov 11 00:41:17
DUSTIFUS I just encountered a glitch on The Cursed Tribe quest. I travelled to Largashbur, helped kill the giant, and everyone in front of the Gate was killed. I have no one to talk to to activate the quest. I don't know if anyone else has this problem. If you do, I watched a Youtube video on how to fix the glitch. Walk right along the fence till you get to where the rock and the fence meet and jump over the fence there and go talk to the Orc next to the gate. Just thought I'd post this to make everyone aware. Hope it helps!
Posted by DUSTIFUS on 24 Nov 11 02:46:39
DUSTIFUS Amazing Guide bytheway!
Posted by DUSTIFUS on 24 Nov 11 02:47:43
Bashford nice guide mate, just thought i'd point out an easy way of finding a flawless ruby. If you go to the Mistveil Keep in Riften and find a guy named Harrald and do his quest (which takes about 30 secs) he gives you different gems and they change everytime so make a save before you hand the quest into him and then keep re-loading the save untill he gives you a flawless ruby.
Posted by Bashford on 24 Nov 11 06:16:57
AreYewABadfish2 Stayed up til 5 am doin these and it didn't give me the chievo after 15. I let the guy destroy the skull on waking nightmare but got both pieces on the werewolf one. Can u get em on seperate playthroughs?
Posted by AreYewABadfish2 on 24 Nov 11 10:25:18
Perpalicious @Dustifus: Thanks for that. I was aware of that glitch but I don't know how I missed that.
@Bashford: That is a really good way! Thanks for that.
@AreYewABAdfish: Sorry. I have no idea why this happens for some people but I do emphasize to save often. I am unsure of whether multiple playthroughs counts as no one has reported such a thing.
Posted by Perpalicious on 24 Nov 11 12:45:44
AreYewABadfish2 Yeah I did that quest before I read your guide or knew that the skull of corruption was a Daedric Artifact. Good guide though.
Posted by AreYewABadfish2 on 24 Nov 11 18:16:30
Shadow Quaker Great guide, but am i the only one who's game keeps freezing after excepting The Whispering Door quest. (I can't even leave the inn without it freezing and now all of my saves are like this I think I might have to start a new game and i was so close to level 50)
Posted by Shadow Quaker on 24 Nov 11 19:42:08
AreYewABadfish2 Alright so you can disregard my first comment, I thought that I had completed dawnbreaker but I did not and skipped it. Awesome guide, and if you wanna include it, I can confirm that getying both in ill met by moonlight will compensate for a missed artifact, and that they all need to be on the same playthrough.

Shogame Very helpful. Thank you for taking the time to write this up.

simopoika Mission Name: Boethiah’s Calling. I had the glitch where the reincarnation of Boathiah cannot be talked to. I got frustrated and killed every cultist member after the sacrifice and somehow the last cultist member dead triggered the quest to continue for me.
Posted by simopoika on 25 Nov 11 12:11:19
Kowycz I have unfortunately discovered what I believe to be a glitch on "The Break of Dawn" (for the Dawnbreaker artifact). I spoke with Meridia and no location is shown on my map as to where the beacon is located. I believe I accepted the quest approximately 20-25 levels ago and it still hasn't turned up in any random chests. The clairvoyance spell will not work, and within the quest menu "Show on Map" is greyed out. I have no idea where to find the thing.
Posted by Kowycz on 25 Nov 11 15:49:41
Zacry072 @Kowycz it's Kilkreath Temple or Ruins (can't remember), which is located right underneath her shrine.

Also, I got my achievement using the Hircine glitch! Thanks so much for the guide! Really saved me after Waking Nightmare fudged up.
Posted by Zacry072 on 25 Nov 11 18:55:57
Perpalicious Why would you post that again Zacry answered your issue.
Posted by Perpalicious on 25 Nov 11 21:27:11
AeonicArchangel Just pointing out that in the Boethiah’s Calling part you called it the "Bee and Bard" it's actually the "Bee and Barb" Sorry for being anal. Good solution though! Thanks!
Posted by AeonicArchangel on 25 Nov 11 21:43:33
Perpalicious I'm equally as "anal," but it's hard to catch all errors when a solution is this large and deep. Thanks for point the mistake out.

Knucklehead923 i would like to point out that the quest for the Ebony Blade (The Whispering Door) absolutely IS affected by you joining the stormcloaks and conquering Whiterun. if you've conqured Whiterun, the Jarl that was in place (his name is Balgruuf or something similar) has been ousted from his post and now hides our in Solitude. you still receive the rumor from the girl at the inn, but in order to progress you have to go to Solitude, find the Blue Palace (which is nearby during the 'the mind of madness' quest) and go downstairs once youve entered the palace. his name is still Jarl Balgruuf, and talking to him there still advances the quest as if he was still in Whiterun.
Posted by Knucklehead923 on 26 Nov 11 16:08:32
Knucklehead923 also a question...in the Cursed Tribe, to get the artifact Volendrung, you say its not missable. then what happens if ive killed everyone in the Orc Tribe? when i showed up, i tried to kill the giant but accidentally hit an orc once so they all turned hostile and i had to kill them all. how do i get the quest now?
Posted by Knucklehead923 on 26 Nov 11 16:22:11
Perpalicious You've misunderstood. When I say it isn't effected, I meant that you don't lose the mission. I should have been more clear.

As for the Orc tribe, have you left and tried coming back? Were they still hostile? And you killed them all, so I'm assuming that's the only way it's missable, which I'll have to add.
Posted by Perpalicious on 26 Nov 11 16:40:57
risseless I think I'm screwed. I helped kill the giant, but an orc named something like Ugor was killed. I don't think I killed him because the orcs didn't attack me. But now none of the orcs have anything to say. They give one line comments when I interact with them, but there's no dialog options. I've talked to every one in camp several times and no one has any quest to give me it seems. Guess I'll have to get this on my second play through.
Posted by risseless on 26 Nov 11 20:13:23
risseless I went back after the zone reset and there was another giant fighting the orcs. After he was dead, I was able to talk to Atub and get the quest.
Posted by risseless on 27 Nov 11 17:02:50
Bear5 Fan 4Ever Much more clean solution. Thanks. One tip to get both the ring of hirscine and the scaled hide armor would be to use your force push thuu'm to push the werewolf after speaking to him. This way, you're already right next to the cave exit/entrance after you skin him :)

ADaughen I want to say I found Flawless Rubies on most of the people at the Black-Wood Meadery in Riften. Someone would have to double check, but I was there to do a fishing quest and happened to snag a few more items.

themadass First up brilliant guide thankyou :) but I think I'm screwed on the Ebony Mail, I've tried 3 different people and different saves throughout what I have kept and still I just get to the point where Boethiah says "that is most unwise" and then nothing else happens :(

so can i still get the achievement or not?
Posted by WQOKIE on 02 Dec 11 08:18:28
Perpalicious To my knowledge, it won't make a difference, so you'll be able to get the achievement. I'll mention this in the guide soon. I have a few changes to make still.
Posted by Perpalicious on 02 Dec 11 13:11:43
funkym0nkey77 Great guide, followed it without one glitch which was cool, got the 1000 now.
Posted by funkym0nkey77 on 04 Dec 11 09:23:00
stefb42 just to point out that if you missed the glitch and got the ring of hirscine instead of the saviors hide then it's still possible to get the hide, simply go back to the cave find sinding and kill him, remove the skin ,ghost will appear and take the skin and you'll get hide too, seems you can go back for the hide at your leisure, method could be used if your're having trouble getting the described method to work
Posted by stefb42 on 05 Dec 11 09:45:58
Perpalicious What is the 17th artifact? Also, technically speaking, there are only 15 artifacts and missing one will render the achievement impossible without a loophole. Of course, loopholes exist and I mention that at the very beginning of the guide. Also, note in the Skull portion that I said it "CAN." "Can" does not equate to definitive. And I am not misleading anyone in saying that missing the Skull can cause you to miss the achievement because someone who does not employ loopholes will only be able to obtain 14 artifacts.
Posted by Perpalicious on 06 Dec 11 04:24:31
ricky horror Even is someone didn't do "loopholes", you can still get the achievement, seeing as missing the Skull would leave you with 16 artifacts (not 14), and you only need 15 for the achievement. You should also put in you guide that you must have 15 on you at a single time to get the achievement, so don't use the book till the achievement have popped.
Posted by ricky horror on 06 Dec 11 04:49:46
Perpalicious You're still being vague. What are these other two artifacts that you can get without "loopholes"? To my knowledge, you can get the hide and the ring but I believe that to be a loophole. With those two, that's 16 artifacts. If you miss the skull, that means you can still get 15, which I note at the very beginning. I still don't know what this 17th artifact is.
Posted by Perpalicious on 06 Dec 11 05:10:21
ricky horror The hide and ring isn't a "loophole". The ability to get both was intended if you just do what both people want. Plus, your guide for getting them isn't correct. The avatar appears over Sinding's body once you kill him. And you don't have to avoid dialog with him, you can talk to him and get the ring. Then when exiting the cave, you get the hide. There is no reason to re-enter the cave. Thus, should be listed separately.
Posted by ricky horror on 06 Dec 11 05:48:23
ricky horror And the Skeleton key is the 17th. Might not count for the first achievement, but it counted for Oblivion Walker.

Also, you need to add more info for each of the artifacts, they're lacking info.
Posted by ricky horror on 06 Dec 11 05:51:18
Perpalicious The skull key has been confirmed, by multiple people, not to contribute to the achievement. While there may be "17" artifacts, only 16 contribute to the achievement, so there aren't 17. So I couldn't care less what you say because other people have never got the achievement while having the skeleton key in possession. So 16 artifacts it is, which has been, again, CONFIRMED MULTIPLE TIMES.

Also, I didn't add more to some artifacts, as I noted in the solution, because of the sheer simplicity of some them. Creating an incredibly lengthy and convoluted guide isn't something that I wanted or intended to do. I wanted to keep it simple, to the point, and as concise and short as possible.

That aside, the only legitimate claim you've made is my misinformation in regards to the hide and ring quest, which I will concede. But, even then, someone would not have to go look up something. If they miss an artifact then the skull key will not make up for it.

Outside of that, all your comments are off-putting and irritating. If you can't be civilized then please don't contribute. I'm more than happy to have an "incomplete" guide then to have your help. And I also implore you to create your own guide. It really makes no difference to me.

JJNelson83 I finished the Mehrunes Dagger quest last night and after I killed Silus he had a flawless ruby I was able to take from his dead body. Not sure if this is random loot or if he always has one, but if someone else could do the quest and confirm, it could be a very easy way of finding a flawless ruby, since you have to do this quest for the achievement anyway.
Posted by JJNelson83 on 06 Dec 11 12:23:54
Black Mesa I'm not sure if this counts or not (I discovered it AFTER getting the achievement), but if you buy the house in Solitude, and the decoration that comes with the mannequins, there seems to be a duplicate glitch. I put the Ebony Mail artifact on the left mannequin after obtaining it from the quest, and if I remove the armor from the mannequin, a duplicate waits for me the next time I visit the home.

I can put a new armor on it, and see the Ebony Mail dissappear, but when I leave the house (I don't know for how long, all I know is that it was there every time I came back) and come back, the whole set is there. I currently have 5 Ebony Mails.

Now, this could simply be MY game glitching up. maybe I did something odd when I put the armor on it, I don't know. Just a possible option for those who got screwed out of it...
Posted by Black Mesa on 06 Dec 11 13:26:14
ricky horror No, that's an actual glitch with the game. You can do it to any mannequin to duplicate any armor. Not sure if you can duplicate the armor 15 times and get the achievement though, or if you'd actually need 15 different artifacts. Its worth looking into though.
Posted by ricky horror on 07 Dec 11 05:27:13
Lathandertg Just to be sure - is it confirmed that you can get the achievement still if you sold items? Well, I got the skull (it was not destroyed) but I think I sold it - can't find it in my inventory. So you just have to GET all artifacts once to get the achievement? You do not have to keep them?

Oki Gator For the Ebony Mail, if Boethiah doesn't talk to you initially after killing your follower, kill all of the cultists. She talked to me after that. She is going to tell you to kill them anyway so don't worry about it. There's also a glitch I encountered when putting on the Ebony Mail, where Boethiah doesn't say anything. To get around this just make sure the last guy you kill in the mine is killed stealthily. At least that is what worked for me.

Ebony Claws With Volendrung you return the hammer at the end of the quest you do not get to keep it, but to get the achievement you must return it. Also for the whispering door you seem to have to be the thane of whiterun. I got to lvl 30 just doing bits for this achievement without touching main quest. Everytime I spoke to landlady in bannered mare she just kept mentioning the companions. As soon as I became the thane then BOOM she mentions the quest.
Posted by Ebony Claws on 23 Dec 11 17:23:46
English Gamerrr You don't need to complete the quests as long as you get the item, for example I did the Wabbajack quest last and the achievement popped up as soon as I was given it.

This isn't much help though seeing as most of the quests the artifact isn't rewarded until the end.

MADDL007 simopoika is 100% correct on the Boethiah quest. You have to kill all of the cultists standing around and where you kill the last cultist the person you have to talk to will spawn. The quest is not glitched.
Posted by MADDL007 on 28 Dec 11 21:29:01
Perpalicious @MADDL007: There is still the glitch where your sacrifice cannot be sacrifice, so the quest "can" be glitched.

admDaggett I just finished my last Daedra quest - and no cheevo. I obtained everything (as far as i know), even the skull of corruption which seems to be an issue sometimes. I sold some like Spellbreaker. Any ideas?
Posted by admDaggett on 01 Jan 12 22:33:22
Nutant Loop Just got this achievement on my second pass (got the skeleton key first time, so had to go to an earlier save).
The very helpful guide and the comments by everyone else made it alot easier to get. Finally got 100% on skyrim now. Some of the things I noticed where:
1) Boethiahs Calling: there are two approaches you can do...when boethiah appears but glitches, kill every cultist and then boethiah starts to talk (credit to simopoika) OR you can kill all the cultist members before sacrificing your companion and boethiah speaks to you through a random corpse. Then sacrifice your companion and she sends you on a mission.
2) Night to Remember: i was having trouble getting sam to appear to begin the drinking game but i seemed to find him in the 'winking skeever' in Solitude.
3) Night to Remember: in the dialogue sections, you can speed up the quest by just paying the people off (rather than deal with mess, goat, ring etc)
4) A Daedra’s Best Friend: if the dog gets stuck and the mission glitches just fast travel back to where you roughly are and it unsticks the dog Barbas. especially that big wooden door in the town (helgen?) before the cave.
5) I messed up the Waking Nightmare mission (destroyed the skull) but used the Ring of Hirschine glitch and still got the achievement.
6) If you need money or any specific items for any of these daedric missions, utilise the Dawnstar Invisible Chest glitch.
Posted by Nutant Loop on 02 Jan 12 15:37:58
Nutant Loop admDaggett posted..."I just finished my last Daedra quest - and no cheevo. I obtained everything (as far as i know), even the skull of corruption which seems to be an issue sometimes. I sold some like Spellbreaker. Any ideas?"
Possible reasons for no cheevo:
a) you collected the skeleton key in between getting the 15 daedric artifacts
b) you swapped the masque of clavicus vile for the axe (you betrayed Barbas)
c) you did not take Volendrung (from the ritual site) when you completed The Cursed Tribe.
d) you did not equip the Ebony Mail during Boethiah's calling.
e) you did not take the ebony sword from the table during The Whispering Door.

CRAWFORD696 I dont know if anyone else brought this up (and I dont feel like reading 99 other comments) but the quest Discerning the Transmundane can become glitched. After obtaining the Elder Scroll, if you immediately go to The Throat of the World and read the scroll then go to Septimus and give him the lexicon, the quest will say "wait until he has figured out the lexicon and then he will contact you". He never will, making the quest uncompleteable. This isn't the same as the requirement of being lvl 15 before Septimus will summon you again. This is what happened to me so now I have to do the glitch on the Ring of Hirscine quest. Just a heads up incase no one else has posted about this.

CRAWFORD696 I looked up that quest on this site http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:A_Night_To_Remember and apparently that bug makes that quest unobtainable.
Quote "After having your third drink with Sam, the screen will sometimes not black out and you will not be transported to the Temple, thus rendering the quest unobtainable."

Quest for : Spellbreaker
Mission Name: The Only Cure
When looking for a Flawless Ruby, you can find one very close to Markarth. Fast travel to Salvius Farm (outside of Markarth) head East past the bridge and keep heading east till you come to the edge of a cliff. Where beneath a river flows. There you will see a boat, on the boat you'll fine several gems - underneath a seat you will find a flawless ruby. Look carefully its there.

Beez 808 I've got a little more polish for your guide. It's very helpful by the way.

Masque of Clavicus Vile:
The location is Haemar's Shame. Also, when you first meet Barbas, if you tell him you have "other things to do" he'll run to Haemar's Shame much faster and give you a map pointer so you don't have to follow him.

x27x fairley Dunno if anyone else has had this problem, I went to Largashbur to begin the lost tribe quest and it's completely deserted... as in no giant, no orc's and no Atub.. I had a look around for bodies and there are none. so I climbed in over the fence and went into Largashbur longhouse where I found all the orc's and Atub just standing in the same place doing nothing, I then spoke to Atub hoping I could start the quest anyway but he just kept telling me to leave and that I was trespassing. now if I go in there again they all attack me for no reason. If anyone knows a solution to this please let me know, thanks.

Epsilon Theta Regarding your quest description and getting both artifacts from Ill Met by Moonlight; I encountered what seemed to be an error in your description. After killing all hunters, if you kill Sinding, the Spectral Form of Hirscine appears which can be avoided by backing out of the dialog. Exiting the cave then had me meet the Spectral Stag which uncursed the ring. After revisiting the place where I slew Sinding the Spectral Form of Hirscine rewarded me with the Savour's Hide. You seem to have the forms mixed up which confused me a bit!

Twistedsymphony Just a Hint for helping with the Oghma Infinium blood collection
All of the Blood types except for Dark Elf can be found on dead expeditioners back in the first two sections of Aftland. For the Dark Elf Blood you can find a dead mage in the water at Evergreen Grove (its the tree icon northwest of Falkreath) very easy, takes all of 2 seconds once you're there. There are two alchemy skill books there too so you might as well pick those up while you're there.

goibon For the quest "The whispering Door" that rewards "Ebony Blade", you have to be lvl 20 AND have completed the quest "Dragon Rising", I was lvl 22 when I contacted Hulda about rumors but didn't get the one about the Jarl's son. Then I looked it up on IGN (http://www.ign.com/wikis/the-elder-scrolls-5-skyrim/The_Whis...) where it says: "You must also have completed Dragon Rising"

Otherwise a really great guide :)

and Dawnbreaker but everytime when i go to a blacksmit or somebody else then my Spellbreaker and other things are not on the sellings list. So is it also with my other artifacts. And i must say, this is a GREAT Guide THNX Tumbs Up from me :D:D:D

SuddenThunder I found a soloution for one of the more common glitches in the waking the nightmare quest. I had problems with Erandur getting stuck on the stairs. Despite using unrelenting force to send him flying up the stairs he still wouldnt open the door. However I had a very close earlier save ( I guess you are out of luck if you dont) What I did was pickpocket the key from him back in the inn. I was able to open the library door myself, kill everyone and then he caught up and the quest carried on like normal. Hope that helps someone out.

FoxA83 Mission: Skull of Corruption
I encountered a glitch with Erandur going stuck inside the Nightcaller Temple. After the sequence when Erandur tells that we have to go to library, he walks up the stairway, in the middle he got stuck (doesn't move forward and just looks stupidly at me...).

After getting mad and trying with new loaded autosave i tried something out. I blow him up the stairway with the dragon shout: "Unrelenting Force" and boom he started to walk again to the door of the library. I looks like the shout "woke" him up out of his personal nightmare.

Simply put away your weapons or beat him down to stop him attacking you.
This worked fine straight away after he kept glitching on me.

Count Flanders I too am wondering if there is a way to check how many artifacts I have. I'd also like to say that it's B.S. these are missable. It's so annoying that that the only way to know this is to spoil the game experience and story by reading guides beforehand.

The Holy Bison XDeeviusx's solution is much better than this!

Almighty Allah Count Flanders, the way i did it was just match the completed quests I did with the daedric quests given. Unfortunately though I killed Hilda and cant do the Whispering door quest to get the ebony blade and I Let the skull of corruption get destroyed as well so I won't be getting this achievement.

Mr Squishy2 tons of comments, thanks for the guide its extremely helpful, the onylt hing i would suggest is maybe reordering the quests to the level required to start them, or the ones that shhould be done first as they are missable or bugged. Otherwise fantastic job

Posted by Meaty Splosion on 09 May 12 20:24:57
NickHawkeye yeah you should add the the ebony blade does have a glitch,

Hulda is necessary for this rumor to unlock. Ysolda can take over The Bannered Mare if Hulda dies, but will not give the rumor. and speaking to the Jarl and asking about his kids will not activate this quest.
Some people say you also must have completed the Dragon Rising quest to receive the rumor from Hulda.

positive vote but i would also consider reordering as Mr Squishy pointed out. some order of level to attain or at least put the missable ones first so as to watch out for those
Posted by NickHawkeye on 10 May 12 14:25:50
NickHawkeye Scratch that about Hulda, evidently she is no immortal after patch 1.5 so don;t need to worry about her dropping dead

sarahoi Hi, I'm very confused. I've done all quests, when I look in my statistics it says "Daedriq quests: 14". Does this mean I really have to do (somehow...) one quest more or that I did 15 but only have 14 artifacts?

Perpalicious @Zeldaddict: The skeleton has no effect on this achievement.

@Sarahol: Are you sure you've done all the quests? I'd go through and see what artefacts you have. It sounds like you missed one.

@Mr. Squishy: I have some type of obsession with alphabetical order. I think it just makes it look neater. I'll take it into consideration, though.

@Everyone else: Thank you for the kind words. I'll be sifting through the comments tomorrow and making the necessary adjustments. I'll also include information that resulted from the patches.

Almighty Allah ClaytThaGreat

I did that exploit about two weeks ago so it still works for me recently. You are suppose to kill sinding and take his hide then not touch the apparition that appears afterwards and press B to exit out the convo if you cannot escape him. Then exit the grotto and get the ring of hircine and then go back in and talk to the apparition to get saviors hide.

TheLastNinja73 Nice guide! I found it particularly helpful regarding possible glitched missions. Anyway, just wanted to add that I received the achievement yesterday - and I haven't completed the quest to acquire Volendrung. I can confirm that I only received the Saviour's Hide in the Sinding quest as well (didn't get Hircine's Ring) - bringing the total artifacts to 14. However, 'Ill Met By Moonlight' was the LAST quest I did, and I initially chose to help Sinding by killing all the hunters. After they were all dead, I then killed Sinding and acquired his skin. I was then visited by the Spectral form of Hircine, who gave me Saviour's Hide and removed Hircine's Ring. Does this mean that, for a brief moment anyway, I had both of the artifacts? Just wondered if anyone else had a similar experience...

DauntingAbyss I encountered a bug with The Cursed Tribe no one else seems to have mentioned yet.

In my game the Giant just stood in place not attacking while all the orcs just stood around him watching, Only the Orc Mage Atub was attacking him. Afterwards, when the giant was dead, all the orcs were alive but no one was coughing up the quest; they'd all just stand there and tell me I shouldn't be there (But also not starting the conversation that starts you on the Forgemasters Fingers quest)

After reloading and approaching multiple times, the bug with the giant happened every time. No clue why this bug happened, only thing I did before hand was come from the west after having traveled to the Shadow Stone to make my way to the encampment. Only thing I can think of is that it was an early in-game morning, and that there might be some hangup with the time of day that Atub will actually talk to you, but that doesn't seem right to me.

What I did to fix this was ran over to the side, away from them, and waited an hour and walked back over to them, when I did this *some* of the conversation to start the The Cursed Tribe quest happened between Atub and the named warrior orc behind the wall (name escapes me atm) but the whole conversation between them stops again and everyone looked at me again like "Why are you here". I ended up waiting *another* in game hour and the orcs outside the wall (there were 3) suddenly moved somewhat closer to the encampment wall (still not saying much more then "what?" or "You don't belong here" but Atub finally decided to pull me into conversation and start the quest.

Dat dat Sker I would just like a little clarification on one thing. I've read through all the comments, but no-one has asked this specific question. In your guide you say that if you complete the Nocturnal missions or acquire the skeleton key before any other Daedric artifact, you won't unlock the Daedric Influence ach. If this is true, is that to say I won't unlock the Oblivion Walker ach. either? If the game doesn't recognize a person earning one artifact, would the same be true for 15? I have 15 in my character inventory right now and no cheevo.

Wanderer128 So by missable, what you mean is just simply don't fuck it up?
I thought missable achievements were reserved for ones you couldn't go back and do after completing the main storyline.

Posted by H4nds0mH4ns3l on 05 Aug 12 14:03:02
SeraphimNeeded @Travis Jarvis: Ditto, guess they did a stealth fix of the exploit. Guess you now HAVE to do all 15 missions before it will unlock. You can still get both the hide and the ring, by all means.

I'm guessing it can still be missed if you don't have 15 artifacts after finishing the last daedric mission, either that or you can only get progress from each mission only once, meaning it doesn't matter if you get the ring, skin, or both, they only count once.
Posted by SeraphimNeeded on 08 Aug 12 09:47:10
Epsilon Theta @Wanderer128 No, the missable flags is for indicating that you need to be cautious or proceed past a point where you can get an achievement and need to invest a considerable amount of time to get there again. This applies to choices in storyline but also to permanent decisions or optional quests that disappear after the main story has advanced past a certain point.

Mexpha I've followed your guide exactly and still no unlock. Browsed a few forums and from what it seems the Dawnguard update has messed with this achievement/made it worse than it already was. Might I also add, the quest for the Volendrung does indeed have a level requirement which is level 9+.

Anybody know any more about this achievement not unlocking?

jvest For the Volendrung mission, you can find troll fat underneath Aela the huntress' chest (the lootable one in her room, not her actual chest), almost the same place you find the daedra heart. This is just in Tilma the Haggards room.

In Tildas room there's also a flawless ruby and the whole area is packed with silver ingots for the Spellbreaker mission.

The place is in Whiterun, the house is Jorrvaskr, and then the basement (Jorrvaskr Living Quarters).

Vesper Angel 89 For an easier way to get both artifacts in the mission for Hircine's ring/ Savior's Hide try this method:

When I first went into the caverns I helped Sinding just like you said in the guide and killed all the other hunters and talked to Sinding again to complete the quest. After that I killed him and I did NOT take his skin off and just walked outside and received the ring from Hercine. After that I walked back inside and took the skin off Sinding and talked to Hircine once more and then I received the Savior's Hide. So overall this is just a bit easier way to get both artifacts without any trouble

Much easier and no need to run away quickly to avoid shit

DauntingAbyss Not entirely sure if mine glitched or if they've patched it, but I have done 14 of the 15 quests and have gotten every one of the artifacts, including both Hircine's Ring and the Savior's Hide, and the achievement didn't pop. Last quest I did to this end was Discerning the Discerning the Transmundane (needed to get the scroll for a Dawnguard quest, so I was going there any way).

Also want to add that I'm level 65 at the moment and Whispering Door hasn't been offered to me (as in I ask for rumors and I'm told some nonsense and the option to ask for more isn't there), so I'm guessing there has to be a requirement beyond being level 20+, I'm guessing its got to do with the main quest, since I haven't gone gone past the 3rd quest yet (I've yet to fight my first Dragon, despite having fought the one in the Soul Cairn)? I'll comment back if my theory ends up correct.

(reading some of these comments, it seems the Dawnguard DLC maybe the reason the achievement didn't pop -VERY frustrating, even if it makes sense we'd need to do all the quests. which should have been the acheivement, so we'd get it even without the artifacts)

Kugare @Waking Nightmare:
As of patch 1.8, saving during or after the Dreamstride portion of the quest will cause the game to freeze on consoles or crash to desktop on PC.

To prevent this, avoid saving during this quest, and disable autosaves as well.
quote from: uesp.net

i can confirm this glitch! it happened 4 times for me! after the 3rd time, i decided to not save my game, until i leave the dungeon... on my way to the exit, the autosave function let my game freeze.. very annoying. >_<

you should also add, that a voice will tell you to kill Erandur... so players know the perfect moment to kill him.

matrikzHH I think the Break of Dawn is glitched. When you don't have the beacon when you start the quest, it spawns randomly somewhere. Normally in a boss chests. But it can also spawen in locations that are not yet accessible or no longer accessible. In my case it spawned in a non existant chest which renders this unobtainable for me I guess. I will see if it will appear in some other placer later. I guess this should be mentioned in the guide.

Scoochi2 Great guide!

Achievement unlocked for me after only completing 13 of the quests!
I got both Hircine's Ring and the Saviours Hide.
I was unable to get the Ebony Blade due not not having played the main questline enough yet and I left the Wabbajack for last (after spending so long in The Shivering Isles I had my fill of Sheogorath!).
When I started 'The Mind of Madness' quest and I was handed the Wabbajack the achievement unlocked.

So you don't even need to finish the quest. As soon as the artifact is in your hands, you get the achievement (so long as it's your 15th) and you can reload a save if you don't want to complete the quest.

Also, when I did the Skull of Corruption quest, the game constantly froze when saving after returning to the real world (even auto-save when loading the spell/item/level menu).
I must've played through that about 6 or 7 times before I managed to escape without it freezing on me. So if you NEED the Skull, keep persisting because you'll break free of the freezing in the end!

Hippo Op Does anyone know if you use the oghma infinium leveling glitch; will it cause you to not be able to get the achievement? Because I used it so I can get through all the missions quickly and did not earn the achievement. I am sure I completed them all, but I wanted to make sure if the glitch nullifies the achievement.

ShrimpbushDX Great guide. Followed everything but still had to do all quests for chevo. Even got both Ring and Hide from Hircine. Don't know why it happened this way though.

GunnyMo Excellent guide.

Bit of a problem, though, with A Daedra's Best Friend. I already had the Misc. quest to Speak to Lod but when I returned he'd been killed by a dragon. I've been up and down the roads outside of Falkreath and haven't come across Barbas as of yet. I even went to Haemar's Shame, cleared it and no Barbas. I'll keep trying Falkreath every now and then but I think I've missed this one with Lod's death.

TheBlackxRanger Did all of these plus got both the ring and hide. Only thing is when I did the skull quest, he destroyed the skull (I didnt think this was an artifact quest). So you do indeed need to follow this guide to the T.

I get to start all over yay!

Fix8s @Hippo, Using the oghma glitch does not effect getting this wink

TheBlackxRanger Mine says daedric artifacts 15 under quests. No achievement. WTF is wrong with this game.

TheBlackxRanger I finally got it! I had to make a brand new save. Last quest I did was for hircines ring / skin. You have to do the glitch to get both artifacts to get the achievement. FINALLY DONE!

RichSeventy4 A Daedra's Best Friend was the first artefact quest I completed, and I didn't get the Daedric Influence achievement. That unlocked after my second artefact quest which was the Dawnbreaker one. I'm wondering if I'll have to get both artefacts from the Ill Met By Moonlight quest if the Clavicus Masque didn't register. Maybe Daedra's Best Friend has a random bug that affects total artefact count and people aren't noticing if they already unlocked Daedric Influence?
