Once you have completed a level on your first playthrough, the next time you replay that level again you will be able to unlock the Time Challenge.

These are definitely not easy to do as you are tested for your revision of the level off by heart and must quickly navigate your way to the goal/flag. Swimming levels seem much harder for some reason but maybe that is just me :/ The plain simple rule, stop for nothing and avoid everything! Keep RT held down at all times!

If you die whilst attempting the challenge, you will be sent back to the very beginning to start it again. If you manage to succeed, you will be rewarded a very lovely trophy and will be led back to the map selection. :P

There are some tricks you can do to help speed up your sprint to the finish:
RT + X (Dash attack actually makes you run quicker then running itself. Keep spamming that move when you are on flat terrain. Also when you get to the edge of a platform, if you can pull off a jump straight after RT + X you can execute a forward thrust alike jump that is the same speed as the attack. Jumping itself alone with the A button slows you down so this trick will help you keep moving, especially when crossing spacious platforms.)

X + Down, when in air (You perform a downward spike that drops you at high speed until you hit the ground. Helpful for drops when you want to get to the ground quick.)

I hope this helps you out! By the way don't forget you can always get some local friends to do this with you. Jussayin' :)
locolukah Holding RT and tapping X will also help you swim slightly faster.

Krosis85 So I don't know if it's just my game, but I won this after completing the time trial award for "On top of old smokey". I still haven't completed "Mecha no mistake".

Malebolge PL The water levels for me were the easiest ones, most troubles I had with the Ice levels. I'm trying to complete each world one by one so the levels are still fresh. Overall it isn't THAT bad, just takes time and patience. Oh and without RT + X you will be UNABLE to beat the clock in water levels. also when in air jump quickly down with X when its possible, it will help you save few precious seconds

Malebolge PL *oh and one more tip - try to find an extra heart before hitting the clock - that way you will be able to take one more hit before dying

Perkinator 3000 Whoever designed the levels in this game is a cruel and heartless sadist. It was such a stress trying to get the Trophy on Mecha No Mistake.

Thrifty SiMON FYI: I got all the water level time trophies withouth ever using the RT + X trick.

Minchy Munchkin I got all trophies without the RT + X. It only makes you go faster for tiny bit, then really slows you down for a tiny bit, so all in all, I found it easier to not bother and keep better control of my character.

MathGuy42 This playlist shows every speed trophy. (By my count, there are 31.) It's PS3, but still applicable.

These videos were done by IGIPNP, not by me. The videos also show every hidden cage and how to get enough lums to fill each medallion.

marco11SK Do NOT use RT+ X, it won't make you swim faster, it'll be just more difficult. Tried few times with it, then made it witout on my first run.

Evenger Ostro X depends on character I think. Some really get a boost in acceleration (not speed) which helps. Fully completed the game twice in co-op now, simply awesome

Diamond Thing @Evenger Ostro: They all give off the same boost distance. It's just their size that makes people assume differences between the characters. I always use Rayman. He's just so oblivious! :P

xboxrjd Its still not clear to me: do you need to beat the best time, or is the second time also enough for this achievement?
Posted by xboxrjd on 29 Jul 12 11:51:22
Diamond Thing @xboxrjd: You need to beat the best time. The 2nd best time will award you a Electoon, whilst the best time will award you a Speed Trophy.

Dfend3r dont listen to marco11SK, definitely use RT+X while swimming, try to use it as much as possible and u should be able to beat the time

Anubseth I passed all water levels (except one) without suing RT + X. It gives a speed boost greater than the slow down after! For me, the difficult stage were the ice ones and Mecha no mistake.
