Difficulty levels do not stack. I suggest playing through the game on Easy and Medium first to get a feel for the gameplay before attempting it on Hard.

For me the key to completing this game on Hard difficulty was to always play as the Defending team. For Northern Europe you will want to play as GDF. They defend in all 3 of the missions.

I hardly had to do anything on this campaign. Seriously. For nearly the entire time I just sat on the couch using my laptop until the match was over. Your AI teammates will do all of the work for you.

I suggest playing as the Engineer class. Set up an Anti Vehicle Turret near the objective you're defending and place your 2 mines on the objective in the direction the Strogg will be attacking from.

Another class that is useful but requires you to be more active is the Medic class. You can airdrop a Supply Crate to your position and stand behind it constantly throwing grenades at the attacking Strogg. The Supply Crate will refill your health and ammo every second so you are virtually invincible.
