Going to try to keep this as spoiler free as possible also my first review, Firm Creative criticism is welcome

Summary:
Bloodforge is about the protagonist: Crom set on a path of revenge and killing anyone and everyone who dares stand in his wake until he has achieved his goal of vengeance.

The game is a basic hack and slash from developers Climax studios, who's titles include Moto GP 06 and Rocket Knight, however the overall kind atmosphere that they set for themselves is ridiculed by Bloodforge even by the Title itself and makes a good change.

Gameplay Pros:
The game itself is enjoyable with Basic Combat and ways to upgrade your play style such as New Weapons or spells, but the strongest point of the game is its dark atmosphere, the game has a dark story and the graphics only help portray this with shades of Black as the main colour with the intensity of red blood truly sets the mood whilst playing the game and helps the player realise what the path of revenge can truely be like. Also the Bosses are truly unique, unlike other games every boss must be taken differently as each have such different styles, some you want to keep your distance, others you'll have to wait your time and figuring out what to do at each boss gives a small sense of acomplishment.

Gameplay Cons:
The game is very repetitive in terms of fighting, after the second level you have repeat enemies over and over and over again and in regards to that the enemies are even copied from earlier parts, For example, your first ever enemy is copy and pasted with altered stats in the last level and even recoloured in the last few levels. The game also moves VERY slow and even the combat is slow Crom slashes as if he were wielding a giant axe compared to a longsword and what could be a good 2 hour break from the run of the mill shooters that plague the xbox turns into a slow 3-4 hour game. To further add to the slowness there's an enemy that becomes immune to flinching from your attacks, so if you're going for S-ranks, be prepared to run around and mash B alot to keep the blood pouring from the enemies. lastly for 100% completion of the game, you have to grind to get all upgrades as you cannot go through the game once to get enough blood to buy them.

Graphics - 4 out of 5 : A Great Dark Background to help the player see the dark story that the game contains

Gameplay - 2 out of 5 : Very slow and very repetitive Where only bosses offer Variety in the end

Story - 4 out of 5 : A Great concept for the game however the game does repeat the word "Revenge" a lot as if it were the only thing in the world

Multiplayer - 3 out of 5 : First I'll define what I mean - Multiplayer in Bloodforge is setting a challenge for your friends to beat. Now the multiplayer is fun as you can try to be as evil as you can with the settings [Max Damage taken enemies have shields etc...] or, for those just looking to have a tennis game and keep it on the easiest settings so it's not the best but definitely not the worst

I don't think this is Worth spending £10 ($15) for this game, so I'd wait for a sale and then maybe it will satisfy your tastes

Marc Pilkington Nice review which is straight to the point :) *positive vote from me* When I first saw this game before it came out I was mildly interested, but after hearing quite a bit of negative stuff (not too bad though) about it then I lost my interest. Have too many on my mind as it is, including DMC hd which I should have delivered in the next few days!

Bar6arian hmmm from what I remember I had everything upgrade once I completed the story. It's the online that can make the game a tricky 100% because you have to find friends that have it. The gore was great as well as the the short story.

Vorpal Smilodon Good review - says exactly what I would have. If you're thinking of buying this at full price I suggest taking a look at Bayonetta or Viking: Battle For Asgard first, either one should give you a better experience
