Solitude - Obtained the almighty power of sovereignty.

At the end of the main game in the quest "The Final Battle" you will face the dragon and he gives you the option to sacrifice someone (can be different NPCs) and he will leave the world alone or you can fight him. To get this achievement you need to sacrifice them. Once the dragon's cutscene ends you can either pick up their body and move towards the dragon or simply step away from the dragon.

After a depressing and short cutscene you get the achievement and then the same reload screen you get when you die will come up so you can choose differently.
anomalystic777 Out of curiosity, did you do the witch hunt quest? Also what level were you when you faced the dragon?

JPL78 I did all quests related to Selene and I was about level 49 when I faced the dragon. It's not actually that hard. Everything that comes after that is hard.

anomalystic777 Just did this, but had to sacrifice the duchess, I did all of her missions, and played as a woman this playthrough, maybe your sacrifice choice depends on what gender you are?

So you might want to amend the guide by saying you are offered a choice to sacrifice a loved one, and sacrifice them for the achievement.

JPL78 Thanks, will do. The question I have is what happens if you don't have a loved one I wonder.

JPL78 My problem with trying to post solutions about this game is that so many factors can vary throughout and there is little information available. Someone is libel to get to that point in the game, not be offered that choice and get pissed at me but I'm just trying to help. Anomalystic777, did you have a full affinity with the duchess?
Posted by JPL78 on 29 May 12 14:52:27
MattAtom I had Mercedes, essentially i think it comes down to just whoever you got affinity with. Since I got affinity with Mercedes. Also you don't even need to pick them up just walk away from the dragon.

JPL78 I've just redone it from scratch to clean it up a bit. Thanks MattAtom for the information.

anomalystic777 Yes, I had full affinity with her and someone else according to my stats but I dont know who the other was. I would assume that if you don;t have max. affinity with someone you have to fight the dragon no matter what seeing as the retry screen appeard when you do the sacrifice it seems like an addition for people who have the option.

stefb42 had to sacrifice madelaine as she was the only one i had full affinity with

N4rvick Thank you...this is *exactly* the kind of achievement I would have missed without this site. I'm not one of those people who never do the 'evil' or 'cowardly' routes in games, so I would never have chosen to sacrifice someone. I also like that the game lets you retry after the credits so you can move forward with the real storyline instead of having to start all over from scratch like some games do.

N4rvick Also, concerning affinity...in my game it was Aelinore. This is funny because I never completed the quest where you rescue her from the Blighted Manse (I got the quest and the armor, but then the quest canceled 2 minutes later...not sure why but I got into the Manse with the armor!). However, I did get max affinity with Selene because that's when I won the Affinity and Beyond achievement. So with that, you would think Selene would be the one at the Tainted Mountain, not Aelinore.

JPL78 Truthfully I'm not even sure about anything anymore except the achievement involves sacrificing someone. Who and why seems to be different for everyone. I'll consult the strategy guide I just got and see if it tells more. I'm glad to help if I can but I appologize that due to the nature of this game I don't know exacts.

JPL78 The guide just says it happens no matter what. I'm going to simplify the solution and leave affinity out of it.

Almighty Allah Is there a special point i should save at to get this achievement and to get the achievement for beating the dragon?
Posted by Almighty Allah on 07 Jun 12 03:16:38
JPL78 Almighty Allah, no. It saves automatically and then you have to reload after sacrificing the person, then you choose not to make the sacrifice and fight the dragon instead.
