This can be boosted very easily in exhibition match with a friend.

The easiest way to match with a friend is as follows.

Ensure you are not in a party.
Select exhibition match.
Select host match.
Select your friend to join the party it prompts you to make.

Get your pal to play possum.

The current character list is:

Glacius
Jago
Orchid
Saberwulf
Sadira
Thunder

Update: A number of people have reported this as buggy and based on the comments and messages I have received here and Xbox Live there are 2 possible solutions as follows:

1 - Follow my solution but make sure you win all 6 fights consecutively in 1 sitting with a friend. (This is what I did before knowing it was glitchy and some people have reported this working for them).

2 - Do this on ranked Xbox Live (Which I do not really see as a solution at all given how horrible I am online, but people have told me it works so I thought I would include it).

Update 2 - Credit to KiDLUCiF3R for this info

It is believed the glitch occurs if accepting the game invite from the Xbox dash rather than the game main menu.

When tested, it seemed the person accepting the invite must be past the "checking for DLC" notice on the Killer Instinct main menu.

Solution for a fix is currently unknown. Normal things such as clearing cache or re-downloading the game are more difficult to achieve on Xbox One. A factory reset of the console might work but has associated risks. Or signing in to a different console.
nuttywrayAfter testing i found a way which work for me and my boosting partner so I thought I put it up which worked for me!

If you are boosting this with one other person best way to do it was make sure you are both at Killer Instinct main menu but NOT in a party. Go exhibition and host a match and inv your friend. They will get a party inv and game inv.

Once you finish the match quit out to main menu then go back and go back to exhibition and inv again. (I.e host match) what I notice was if you go to select character after the match it doesn't count towards a match loss/win for some reason. So we did it this way and it work. Popped them all.

So to sum up
1) both be a KI main menu but not in party together
2) P1 goes to exhibition and host and inv P2
3) do your match
4) match ends go to main menu
5) repeat

You don't need to leave party once you done the first one and it auto inv every time you go to host a match so that cool

Phil the BearAre you saying this fixes the glitch? Or just this is how you did it?

nuttywrayits they way I did it because when I tried doing it your way it didnt work! So I was giving you a heads up on my way cause it been buggy when you go to "select char" after the first match!

coipSo, nuttywray, you are saying we should quit to the Main Menu after every match, right? 6 characters vs. 6 characters = 36 matches x 2 boosters == 72 times? Or, is it okay to only quit to the Main Menu when the booster (say, Player 1) needs to change characters (i.e. Player 1 plays 6 as Jago while Player 2 changes character each time without everyone quitting to the Main Menu, then quit and have Player 2 be Sabrewulf and repeat)?

Are these still bugged for some people? I tried a week ago and it still wouldn't unlock for me. Don't want to waste time trying until it's 100% fixed.

SoloistProdigyThis is still glitched for me, try both ranked and exhibition with no luck : (

coipSome friends and I tried for hours to boost this and couldn't get a match started. We'd go into KI > Exhibition match > Host/Invite, and the other person would accept the invite, but we kept getting error messages. Is there some trick to starting a match--something we did wrong with Party chat?

Phil the BearThe only comment I can make on that is that I found ensuring you weren't already in a party made it more successful. The game then creates the party for you.

Other than that - perhaps you don't have strict Nat settings?

coipWe tried every which way--starting party beforehand, letting the game start party, etc. Maybe it was just an 'off' night for KI, but that was a frustrating 2.5 hours. What's "strict Nat settings"?

G THE RIPPANow lobby games are on its alot easier I can confirm that if you join from the Xbox dash the glitch will occur but if you exit game and start again get past the dlc screen and play 1 match in lobby mode and it will unlock

GrumpySnyperMy friend and I tried this, with him joining the invite from in game. It wouldn't work for him, but it did for me. We are guessing it works for the host of the game and not the joining person?

Ericmax69Also works in Crossplay on PC - again, each time I did it I made sure the PC player was in the main menu of the game before inviting, and had the Xbox app open in the background to be sure the invite got through
