Call of Duty Black Ops

Hi there, folks. Richard Bastion here and I'll be helping you knock out all the achievements in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

1) We're going to start with the campaign, so choose veteran as the difficulty setting. If you've never played a Call of Duty before, well first of all, I wish you'd move out from under that rock, you crustacean, but you're in for a painfully difficult experience. All things considered, Black Ops is one of the easier Call of Duty games. Best advice I can offer is take cover. The game makes use of infinite enemy respawns at certain points, and this can be quite infuriating. If you get stuck somewhere, check YouTube for a video walkthrough of the level. There are lots of them.

There are a number of missable achievements that take place at specific parts of certain missions, but don't worry, ol' Goose has you covered! I'll be listing them all in order of appearance. Some of them you'll probably have to do on an easier difficulty, but we'll totally annihilate that bridge when we come to it.

2) We'll now be knocking out the Zombie mode achievements. There are only 4 of them, but don't expect them to be a cakewalk. In fact, some of them are quite the opposite, like rock pie... or whatever you'd imagine the opposite of cake to be.

3) We'll now be getting the 3 multiplayer achievements. Two are easy, the other could be difficult, especially if you're bad at CoD, like this guy ova he' (Me.)

4) Time to totally annihilate the aforemetioned bridge. Despite knowing where and when to get the missable achievements, you likely missed some. It's time to play Winston Wolfe and clean this stuff up.

Call of Duty on veteran is about 80% trial & error, and 20% skill. You're going to die--a lot. Nothing I say can change that. If you don't have patience, you'll die even more.

The two hardest levels in the game are Executive Order and S.O.G. They both force you to basically bull rush a group of enemies, which is not wise in CoD. I personally found S.O.G. to be harder, but others would beg to differ. During Executive Order, you'll have smoke grenades to use. Make sure you have a shotgun with you, and use the shotgun and smoke grenade combo to advance. This worked like a charm for me.

Unfortunately, you have no such luck in S.O.G. The hard part in S.O.G. comes when you have to push napalm barrels into a trench. You can speed up the animation of kicking the napalm barrel by mashing X. If you don't mash X, it will be next to impossible. The M14 is a godsend in this part.

Again, as I mentioned earlier, if you find yourself completely stuck, check out some of the video walkthroughs on YouTube.

Everything you see here is presented in the order that it appears in the game. I don't want you stumbling around, unsure what achievements to get when and where any longer! You read through this guide as you play through the game and you'll get everything. This walkthrough covers all the missable and unmissable achievements in the campaign. So without further ado, let's play some Call of Duty.

Mission 1, Operation 40:

Death to Dictators Achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops

Death to Dictators16 (15)

Offline Required - This achievement requires play in offline game modesSingle Player - This achievement can be obtained in single player game modes
Take down Castro with a headshot.

You will be following Woods through a building, killing many enemies. Eventually Woods will tell you to, "Stack up," at which point you enter a slow-mo breach. Shortly after this point, you'll have to do this once again, but this time you'll barge in on Castro and a woman of ill repute. Once it goes into slow-mo, simply take aim and fire at his stupid, ugly, cigar smoking face.

If you don't get it the first time, simply save and quit, then try again.

Frag Master Achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops

Frag Master28 (15)

Offline Required - This achievement requires play in offline game modesSingle Player - This achievement can be obtained in single player game modes
Kill 5 enemies with a single frag grenade in the campaign.

This is best done towards the end of the level. Shortly after you exit the burning building, straight ahead (North) you'll see a truck with an MG on it and an explosive barrel near it. Wait a few seconds for enemies to congregate around that area, then toss a grenade.

Slingshot Kid Achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops

Slingshot Kid22 (15)

Offline Required - This achievement requires play in offline game modesSingle Player - This achievement can be obtained in single player game modes
Destroy all slingshot targets in 3 attempts.

This takes place early on in the mission. The slingshot itself is story related and you must use it to progress, but the achievement is missable. You must take out all three buildings in only three shots. If you fail, pause, save and quit, then reload your save.

  • Left target: Have the very bottom of the reticle touching any part of the word "Target." This one's hard to miss.
  • Middle target: Have the very bottom of the reticle touching the white dot underneath the word "Target."
  • Right target: Have the very bottom of the reticle about an inch above the middle of the word "Target." You're aiming for the guard tower, if that's not obvious. This one is also hard to miss.

Vehicular Slaughter Achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops

Vehicular Slaughter33 (25)

Offline Required - This achievement requires play in offline game modesSingle Player - This achievement can be obtained in single player game modes
Destroy all enemies on vehicles during the prison break.

This achievement is sketchy, to say the least. Some people say you have to destroy every single vehicle in the entire level, and others say you only have to destroy the vehicles in the chase scene. I personally got the achievement without even trying to destroy any vehicles up until I got the Death Machine. From that point on, I destroyed every vehicle I saw. To be safe, you should try to destroy every vehicle you see.

Use the explosive bolts to kill 30 enemies in the campaign.

You'll get to use a crossbow with explosive bolts twice in the campaign. In the mission WMD and Executive Order. The amount of kills is cumulative, meanining you don't have to get all 30 kills in one run of either level.

Tough Economy23 (15)

Offline Required - This achievement requires play in offline game modesSingle Player - This achievement can be obtained in single player game modes
Use no more than 6 TOW guided missiles to destroy the tanks in the defense of Khe Sanh.

At the end of the mission, you'll find yourself in a jeep equipped with a TOW missile launcher. You'll be driven around and periodically you'll be forced to take out T55 tanks. You fire a missile with the RT, you guide it with the RS, and, optionally, you can detonate it before it hits a target by pressing RT again. I found that this achievements is MUCH easier if you fly the missile just slightly above the tanks and manually detonate it with RT, instead of trying to make it collide with the tank.

If you screw up, simply save and quit, then try again.

The achievement won't pop until you're forced out of the vehicle, about 20 or so seconds after destroying the last T55.

Kill 10 NVA with Dragon's Breath rounds.

At the beginning of the mission, you'll be given a SPAS-12 with Dragon's Breath Rounds. It's an extremely good weapon, so you'll be using it quite a bit. You'll get 10 kills in no time at all. Not using this weapon makes the level harder, seriously!

Raining Pain Achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops

Raining Pain17 (15)

Offline Required - This achievement requires play in offline game modesSingle Player - This achievement can be obtained in single player game modes
Rack up a body count of 20 NVA using air support in Hue City.

You'll eventually get to a point where you're tasked with calling in air support. You'll be required to do this three times, but you actually have unlimited uses of air support. Just call in air support on every enemy and building you see until you get the achievement.

Demonstrate killer economic sensibilities by taking down 3 enemies with a single bullet.

There are a number of ways you can get this. You can get it by playing Zombies (That's what I did,) Dead Ops Arcade, and in mission 7 of the campaign, Numbers. Getting this in Zombies is, in my opinion the easiest way of doing it. It's easy to line up 3 zombies, and once you do that, aim for the head. If you're gonna do it in the campaign, it'll be much easier if you just watch this video.

Double Trouble Achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops

Double Trouble15 (10)

Offline Required - This achievement requires play in offline game modesSingle Player - This achievement can be obtained in single player game modes
Use only dual wield weapons to escape Kowloon.

You'll start off with dual pistols, so just stick with those. You can also find some other akimbo weapons, such as full auto pistols. This is best done on recruit difficulty, as akimbo weapons are not accurate at all. On veteran, by the time you get in range for them to have decent accuracy, you'll be dead.

You can use your grenades and knife as well.

Story related. Cannot be missed.

Mission 8, Project Nova:

Light Foot Achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops

Light Foot66 (30)

Offline Required - This achievement requires play in offline game modesSingle Player - This achievement can be obtained in single player game modesDifficulty Specific - This achievement requires play on a certain difficulty level
Escape the ship with 2:15 left on the timer in Veteran.

This can be a rough achievement. It doesn't help that it takes place at the end of the level, meaning you have to play through all of Project Nova on veteran.

Once the allies attack the ship, head out of the door and grab a weapon. Two of the Russian soldiers are carrying Nosin Nagants, and at least one of them has a scope. This will help you pick off the enemies in the large room to the West. Your teammates will be hollering at you to plant the explosives, but don't do this until you've killed every single enemy in the area.

Once all the enemies are dead, plant the bomb, turn Southwest towards the rocket and get ready to shoot the support. The support beam will start glowing when you can destroy it. From there, head up the newly created ramp (Just to the right). After going through one door, get ready to shoot a couple enemies at the next door.

Out of the door, head left and down the stairs. You'll get a checkpoint around this area, so it's very important that you've made good time. If you don't have enough time to finish and get a checkpoint, well.. you're screwed. I got my checkpoint as soon as I hit the bottom of the stairs, I had 2:35 remaining and I still managed to get the achievement. I was barely able to get the achievement, though. Another second and I don't think I'd have gotten it.

If you got the Mile High Club achievement in Modern Warfare (Or died trying), you'll probably experience some Deja Vu.

If you'd prefer a video guide, NextGenTactics has you covered.

Mission 9, Victor Charlie:

Progress through the level until Woods tell you to go silent and use only the knife. He'll then mention that you should take out the VC on the boat. Swim udnerwater to him and click RS when it tells you to. That's one.

Follow Woods until he climbs over an open window. Climb through and knife the guy sleeping in the hammock to your right. That's two.

Just a bit farther on is a timetraveler sitting on a crate playing a Gameboy. Or maybe it's just a radio.. regardless of his ability that he may or may not have to travel through time, you should knife him to get your achievement.

Use the Grim Reaper to destroy the MG emplacement.

About midway through the mission, Bowman will tell you to pick up the Grim Reaper and destroy an MG nest out in the lake. After taking out the MG, hang onto the Grim Reaper. You'll soon get ambushed and have to fight your way East into a small shack. From here, you'll be attacked from the North, and soon an MG will start firing on you. Use the Grim Reaper to take out the MG.

Lord Nelson37 (25)

Offline Required - This achievement requires play in offline game modesSingle Player - This achievement can be obtained in single player game modes
Destroy all targets and structures while making your way up the river.

This takes place at the very beginning of mission 10, Crash Site. You are required to destroy pretty much all buildings during the boat ride. Best advice I can give is to just take it slow. Don't be afraid to backtrack to make sure you got everything. There are also quite a few shacks that are obscured by brush and easy to miss.

It's also important to note that some buildings take a lot of missiles to fully destroy. Hitting them with the MG will make them explode so it looks like they've been destroyed, but you have to make sure that all that remains of the building is the foundation, or close to it. You'll see exactly what I'm talking about when you find a building with a light in it. Shoot the building until the lights are out, take note of what the building looks like, then shoot all other buildings until they look similar to that.

Some buildings will only be reduced to one or two walls. If you shoot 15 or more missiles at them and they don't get any more destroyed, move on.

Guide the squad through the Soviet outpost without them getting killed.

This takes place towards the beginning of mission 11, WMD, as you're switching between the Blackbird's and Hudson's perspective. Just follow the instructions and you'll do fine. Do this on recruit difficulty and this achievement will almost be given to you.

When you tell the squad to "Stop and drop," start clicking RS or they'll all be killed. Sometimes they don't prone immediately when you tell them to, so just keep clicking RS until they do.

You'll get the achievement once you switch to Hudson's perspective with the crossbow.

Get to the POW compound in the Hind using only rockets.

This requires you to use only fire missiles while piloting the Hind. This is best done on recruit difficulty, as it will be quite hard on veteran. On recruit, the only trouble you'll have is when you're fighting the other helicopters, as hitting them with missiles can be quite difficult.

Other than that, it's a very easy achievement.

Incinerate 10 enemies with the flamethrower attachment in the POW compound.

Shortly after you get out of the Hind and come to a cave, Woods will mention that you should use the flamethrower. If you don't know, the flamethrower is an attachment for the AK-47. Just look around for it, pick it up, hit left on the d-pad and start burning people.

There is an infinite enemy respawn area once you get to the room with metal beams going across the ceiling (Shortly after rescuing the PoWs). As long as you don't get too close to the second set of stairs to the Southwest, they'll keep coming.

Make it through the NOVA 6 gas without dying on Rebirth Island.

This is done towards the end of mission 13, Rebirth. When you're playing as Hudson, you'll get forced out of your vehicle and you'll put on your mask. As you get shot, your mask will get cracks in it, so even if you don't die outright, just a little damage here and there can mean the death of you. This is a very difficult achievement on veteran, I recommend doing it on recruit.

You have an Enfield with an Infared scope, this will help you see through the nova gas. Move up a little bit, take a look through the scope, move up, look through the scope, ETC ETC. Just take your time. The achievement will pop once you drop down a small ledge and take off your mask.

If you die from the nova gas, you can quit to dashboard (Guide button > Y button) then reload and get the achievement; HOWEVER, if you quit to dashboard, the game will send you back several checkpoints. I lost about 10 minutes of progress when I did this. It would've been a lot more if I was playing on veteran. You've been warned. All things considered, I'd say just do it on recruit.

Destroy both helicopters with one Valkyrie rocket from the deck of the ship.

This takes place early on in mission 15, Redemption. You'll be told to pick up the Valkyrie Rocket Launcher and take out the helicopters. Once they're close to each other, fire the rocket and guide it between them, then hit RT to detonate it.

I highly recommend doing this on recruit difficulty, because you'll likely be doing a lot of waiting, all the while they'll be shooting at you. If you accidentally destroy only one, just cook a grenade to kill yourself and try again.

Once again, I'm Richard, and thanks for reading. Hope this has helped you! I'd like to thank Eric Clapton for no apparent reason. Until next time!

Mission 1, Operation 40:

Intel #1: After progressing up some stairs, your two squadmates will line up at a door, at which point they'll break it down and charge in. Go straight ahead to the opposite side of this building and you'll see it sitting on top of a crate that has an RPG leaning against it.

Intel #2: Shortly after your brief and bitter affair with Castro and his lady of the night, you'll cross a balcony and head into a (Lightly) burning building. Head through the first door on your right, then head left. Between the bed and the TV, you'll see a desk with the intel on it.

Intel #3: Shortly after the last intel, you'll rappel down a mountain and head into an aircraft hangar. On the southeast side of the hangar you'll find an aircraft ladder. Head to the top and grab the intel.

All credit for the video goes to RoosterTeeth/Achievement Hunter.

Mission 2, Vorkuta:

Intel #1: You'll eventually come to a poor, defenseless building whose door will be brutally kicked down by Reznov. Continue to follow Reznov--the door murderer--until he stops. Facing Reznov, turn right to find the intel sitting on a cabinet next to a radio.

Intel #2: After you slide under the gate and open it for the rest of the prisoners to get in, go through the doubledoors to the Northeast, just behind the stairs (Do not go up the stairs!) You'll find the intel on a desk in this room.

Intel #3: After a cut scene, you'll find yourself in a room with Reznov and a couple bikes. Turn around and head Southeast towards the flickering lantern. On the bottom shelf next to the lantern you'll find the intel.

Mission 3, U.S.D.D.:

No intel.

Mission 4, Executive Order:

Intel #1: You'll come to a point where Bowman and Brooks distract two guards standing infront of a door. They'll lead them off to the right while you go in and kill everyone. Continue up to level 3. On the Southwest side of the room you'll find two desks, the one on the right has the intel sitting on it.

Intel #2: After blasting a hole in a wall, continue straight to the back of the small room and you'll find the intel sitting on top of a corner computer.

Intel #3: Continue through the level until you get to a long hallway and see a yellow loading vehicle that's carrying a blue barrel. Go through the first door to your right, turn left, and you'll find the intel sitting atop the computer to the Southeast. It's a bit hard to see, but it's close to the window.

All credit for the video goes to RoosterTeeth/Achievement Hunter.

Mission 5, S.O.G.:

Intel #1: When you're tasked with destroying the three T55 tanks, you'll have to use an M72 LAW to take them out. South of the area that has all the M72s, you'll find a small stack of weapon and ammo crates. Amongst all these crates is the intel.

Intel #2: Once you're tasked with pushing back the NVA (VIA Napalm barrels), head down the North side of the mountain. You'll come to a MG nest. Southeast of the MG nest, and just a tiny bit below is a bunker. Head inside and you'll see the intel sitting on the right side of the right window.

Intel #3: As you progress through the level, and you come to the top of the hill, a cut scene will take place where you get knocked out. Follow Woods into the burning building and stop once you see a soldier stumbling around and coughing. Just behind him, on the bottom shelf you'll find the intel.

Mission 6, The Defector:

Intel #1: When you get to the room with the large screen and a projector (You can't miss this room,) head through the door to the West, then take an immediate right. You'll see the intel sitting on a desk.

Intel #2: After calling in support for the first time, you'll be tasked with supporting "Bottom Feeder," the M113. Almost immediately as it starts moving, it'll make a right turn. Stop following it once it makes another right turn (Shortly after you call in air support a second time,) and head into the small alleyway to the Southwest. Turn right into the Khach San hotel, go down the stairs to your right and then straight ahead you'll find the intel sitting on a desk.

Intel #3: Once you're at the LZ with the purple smoke and the helicopter, ignore them and head North to a building with a large hole in its wall. Head through the hole, and directly to the Northeast you'll find the intel sitting on a desk.

All credit for the video goes to RoosterTeeth/Achievement Hunter.

Mission 7, Numbers:

Intel #1: As soon as you're able to move, turn around and head left around the metal shelf. The intel is sitting on the desk to the west, next to a computer.

Intel #2: After slow-mo sliding down a ramp, you'll see a waist-high wall, just behind it is the intel.

Intel #3: Once you jump off the roof in an attempt to grab Dr. Clarke before he slips, you'll get a cut scene. Once the cut scene ends, you'll be jumping down from rooftop to rooftop. Continue on until you land on top of a roof with a red glow. The intel is on the South side of this roof, half buried in garbage. If you slide down the plywood, you've gone too far.

Mission 8, Project Nova:

Intel #1: As you progress through the level, it will take you into a building and up some stairs. At the top of the stairs, go through the only door and turn right. You'll see the intel sitting on a desk next to a lantern.

Intel #2: As you progress through the level, you'll come to a hangar with a large rocket in the middle of it. In the lighted room at the Northeast end of the hangar you'll find the intel sitting on a desk towards the left.

Intel #3: As you're escaping the ship, you'll make your way out to the front deck. You'll find the USSR fighting the Allies. Stay on the North side of the ship as you move up. You'll come to some stairs and a door that can't be opened. To the right of the door is the intel sitting on the ground.

All credit for the video goes to RoosterTeeth/Achievement Hunter.

Mission 9, Victor Charlie:

Intel #1: Pretty early on in the mission you'll be tasked with slitting a sleeping guard's throat. Head out the door of this room, then take an immediate left. In the corner you'll see the intel.

Intel #2: Once you detonate the C4, head directly East a ways until you get to a small shack with a makeshift, waist-high barricade infront of it. On the left side of the floor, at the very back of the small shack you'll find the intel.

Intel #3: After you enter the rat hole, you'll progress a ways and meet up with a friend. You'll come to an intersection, go left (South.) Continue on while keeping an eye to your right. You'll find the intel leaning against a rock. Sure hope it's waterproof. If you make a right turn and start heading North, you've gone too far.

Mission 10, Crash Site:

Intel #1: At the very beginning of the level, as you're heading towards the boat you'll see a flaming barrel ahead of you. North of this barrel is a crate with the intel on top of it.

Intel #2: Immediately as the boat segment ends and you have control of Mason, it's towards the Northeast on the ground by a large rock.

Intel #3: Once you get to the top of the crashed cargo plane, you'll drop down onto some rocks that are glowing red (Cause of the fire). Just below the rocks, on part of the ground that is also glowing red, you'll find the intel.

All credit for the video goes to RoosterTeeth/Achievement Hunter.

Mission 11, WMD:

Intel #1: Once you breach the barracks, head down the stairs in front of you, make a left and you'll see the intel sitting on a green cabinet.

Intel #2: Once you breach the comstat station (The big room with lots of computers,) head towards the stairs at the opposite end of the building, but before going down head East into a small room that a bunch of soldiers came out of. Near two lockers, you'll find the intel sitting on a bench.

Intel 3#: As you progress through the level, you'll come to a large area that is rigged with many, many bombs. Head West and you'll see two tables, one brightly lit up, the other darker, each one with a bomb on top. Head to the darker table to find the intel sitting on top.

Mission 12, Payback:

Intel #1: Once you come to a large area with a waterfall in it, check the Northeast wall for two shelves, the right of which has the intel on it.

Intel #2: This is in the area with the Hind (The helicopter). To the North of the Hind you'll see a table with a radio on it, and the intel sitting next to it.

Intel #3: Towards the end of the level, once you get to the large room with lots of beams going across the ceiling, head Southeast towards the flickering light. To the left of the light you'll see some crates and the intel sitting on top of them. It can be difficult to see because it's so dark.

All credit for the video goes to RoosterTeeth/Achievement Hunter.

Mission 13, Rebirth:

Intel #1: Once you brutally murder the dock worker and steal Hatchey The Hatchet, turn Northeast and you'll see the intel on the ground.

Intel #2: As you progress through the level, you'll come to a room with a large chamber in the middle, and red lights above that chamber. You'll see the intel on one of the monkey cages in the chamber, but make sure you kill everyone in this room before going into the chamber or an enemy might hit a button and you'll get locked in and killed. Sometimes an enemy will hit the button prematurely and you'll get locked out. I'm honestly not sure how to prevent this.

Note: If you miss this the first time, you can get it while playing as Hudson.

Intel #3: Once you're controlling Hudson, and on foot, progress through the level until you get to the burning building. Instead of going in (As you're supposed to) go into the building to the right. On the North side of this building you'll find a black cabinet with some cooking pots and the intel.

Mission 14, Revelations:

Intel #1: Shortly after you get out of your chair, you'll open a double door. Make a left here. Against the right wall you'll see a birghtly lit vending machine (Or something) with the intel sitting on top.

Intel #2: You'll come to a wall that reads "1 3 2 3 31 34" and some red numbers will fly at you. Turn right here (the game wants you to go left), continue towards the end of the hallway and you'll see the intel to the left of the double door. It's quite dark here, so turn up your brightness if you have to.

Intel #3: You'll come to a room with 8 monitors on a wall to the left. To the right of the monitors you'll find two desks, the left of which has the intel sitting on top of some papers.

All credit for the video goes to RoosterTeeth/Achievement Hunter.

Mission 15, Redemption:

Intel #1: Shortly after bailing out of your helicopter, you'll come to an open shipping container with a single box in the middle. On the South side of this shipping container and under the East door you'll find the intel. This is around the area that you'll be told to take out the two helicopters.

Intel #2: As you head down some stairs, you'll eventually come to a room where you're attacked by three guards, and you'll see three pipes going through the ceiling and floor. There are also a lot of computers in this room. Towards the South side of this room you'll find a table, and hidden under the South side of the table you'll find the intel.

Intel #3: After you move up some stairs and go through the door at the top of said stairs, you'll be in a small room with two desks to your immediate right. The intel is sitting under the desk to the left.

Kill the Pentagon thief before it can steal your load-out.

This is done on zombies map "Five," and it's easiest to do solo.

You can unlock the map "Five" two ways: Beat the Black Ops campaign, or break free from your shackles in the main menu (Rapidly mash RT and LT,) find the console that you used to play Zork on, and type in "3arc unlock". Do not include the quotation marks. Typing in "3arc unlock" does NOT disable achievements, so either way is perfectly fine.

You'll need a couple things for this achievement: Quick revive, one grenade and 4,500 points.

Start by buying a quick revive (You can get it from the machine in the hallway.) Now begin racking up 4,500 points. See below for some tips. When you have 4,500 points, leave one zombie alive in the current wave. You do this because you don't want to be bothered by another enemy wave while you're trying to get the Pentagon Thief.

Once you have your 4,500 points, grenade, quick revive and a single zombie alive, open either door in the starting area; they both lead to the same place. Clear the debris infront of the elevator and ride it down to level 2. Head down the stairs and clear the debris, then head left and clear the debris infront of the next elevator. Take the elevator down to level 3. Run straight ahead and take the first left, then first right. You'll see the power switch infront of you--flip it.

Now head back up to level 2. Stay in the elevator and kill the zombie(s) you left alive. If the Pentagon Thief is going to show up, at the start of the next round you'll hear sirens and a woman will announce that there's been a breach (Spooky!) As soon as you hear these sounds, immediately start cooking a grenade and kill yourself. The Pentagon Thief will teleport in from the teleporter thing in the middle of the room. Because of your quick revive, your pistols will act as handheld, rapid fire RPGs, thus making the Pentagon Thief extremely easy to take out.

If the PentaThief doesn't show up, I'd recommend restarting the level. It's generally easier and quicker to get back to this point than it is to fight whatever the next wave is (It was always wave 5 for me.)

Here are some tips for racking up the points:

  • 1. For the first 2 levels or so, use the pistol + knife to kill zombies. Shoot a zombie three times or so with the pistol, then knife the zombie. You can do this through barriers, but the zombie will have to be trying to destroy the barrier in order for you to be able to hit him. You'll get 130 points for a knife kill, plus the 30 or 40 from the pistol shots.
  • 2. Come level 3, you should be out of pistol ammo, or very close. Buy the M14 and aim for the zombies' heads. Each time you take off a zombie's head, you'll get 100 points. Some zombies will still be alive for a few seconds after their heads get knocked off, if you wanna score real big, knife them when they're in this state. 100 pts for a headshot, and 130 for a knife kill? Yes, please.
  • 3. Bullets pierce through zombies. In later levels, things will be too frantic to carefully line up your shots, but in the early levels it can be a nice way to save some ammo. Additionally, you'll get the full amount of points for any extra zombies hit.
  • 4. Avoid nukes unless you're about to die. They kill all the zombies, give you a pitiful amount of points and advance you to the next, more difficult level.

Sacrificial Lamb Achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops

Sacrificial Lamb40 (15)

Online/Offline - This achievement can be obtained in either an online or offline modeCooperative - This achievement can be obtained in non-versus game modes where players work together
Shoot at or be shot by an ally with a Pack-a-Punch crossbow and kill six zombies with the explosion.

The Crossbow is a random weapon that can come out of the Mystery Box (Should've taken the boat!) You'll have to pay 950 points every time you want to use the Mystery Box. The Mystery Box can spawn in a few locations in each map. It's a large crate with two big, glowing question marks on it. Possible spawn locations are marked by a couple stacked boxed with a teddy bear (That's covered in blood) sitting on top.

Once you have the Crossbow, you'll have to take it to the Pack-A-Punch machine and upgrade it for 5,000 points. Here is how to get to the Pack-A-Punch machine in Kino Der Toten and "Five":

Kino Der Toten:

To get to the Pack-A-Punch machine, you'll need 4,250 pts.

Under the stairs and to the left, you'll find a door--open it. Head through and you'll find another door--open it. You'll now be in an alleyway. This is one possible place for the Mystery Box to spawn (Should've taken the boat!) Keep going and you'll come to a gate, open it and go up the stairs. This room is another possible spawn for the Mystery Box. Open up the door in here, head down the stairs and open up the last door. Straight ahead of you you'll find a lever to turn on the power. Turn it on.

You'll see a large screen in here that keeps counting dowm from 3. To the left of the screen is the teleport chamber. Have at least one person move onto the teleporter, and send one person back to the room that you started the map in. On the ground, at the base of the stairs, you'll see a circular platform; stand on it. Now have all members of your group that are standing on the teleporter press X. You'll teleported to a room with the Pack-A-Punch in it.

Be sure to have the weapon you want to upgrade equipped.

"Five":

To get to the Pack-A-Punch machine you'll need 4,500 points.

Open either door in the starting area and clear the debris infront of the elevator. Use the elevator to go down to level 2. Head down the stairs and clear the debris, then head down to the left and clear the debris infront of the next elevator. Take the elevator down to level 3. Go straight ahead take your first left, then your first right, and you'll see the power switch infront of you. Turn on the power and head back to level 2 (Use the elevator again.)

There are 5 "Death-con" switches in this area. Move up to them and press X to raise the Death-con level. Raise the death-con level all the way to 5.

In the middle of the lower level of this area there will be a red portal-esque thing. Go through it and you'll be in the same room as the Pack-A-Punch.

This achievement is called "See Me, Stab Me, Heal Me." It works a lot like Sacrificial Lamb (Above) except you need to get the Ballistic Knife from the Mystery Box, upgrade it at the Pack-A-Punch (For 5,000 points) and shoot a downed ally. Unlike Sacrificial Lamb, where the player being shot and the shooter both get the achievement, only the person with the ballistic knife gets this one.

Hello and welcome to the DLC part of this guide. My gamertag is MCoreBE and I will show you how to get the 700 Gamerscore in all DLC, divided in four 'chapters'. Before I start writing, I would like to thank Richard Bastion and Vursus for their guide to obtain the original 1000. It helped me very much and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person they helped. If you were one of those persons, feel free to write something about it here.

With the above said; let's get some achievements, shall we?

First Strike - DLC

This DLC-pack contains four new Multiplayer maps (Berlin, Kowloon, Stadium and Discovery) and a Zombie map (Ascension). There are no achievement related to the Multiplayer maps, but there are four to obtain in Ascension. This map sets you back in an abandoned Soviet Cosmodrome and is played with the four original characters (Dempsey, the American; Nikolai, the drunk Russian; Takeo, the Japanese and Richtofen, the German scientist). There a quite a few new things to obtain in this map which are listed below.

- Weapons:
The Sickle, the replacement of the Bowie Knife in 'Kino der Toten' and 'Five'

Gersh Device, a tactical grenade (press LB to cook and/or throw it) which attracts Zombies and kills them in a black hole. It is possible to teleport through these things by running and diving into the middle of it.

Matryoshka Dolls, a tactical grenade (press LB to cook and/or throw it) which causes 3 or 4 explosions. This is very useful when you created a Zombie train.

- Perks:
PhD Flopper, completely negates self-inflected damage and it's possible to jump from higher locations without dying. When diving from height (run (press and hold RS) and hold B), you will cause a mini-nuke which can kill Zombies without ammo until round 20. From 20 to 30, you will create crawlers and starting from 30 and beyond, Zombies will keep their legs. This is best bought when you obtained the Ray Gun from the Mystery Gun, since the splats will not harm you if you bought this perk. With this perk equipped, you will not be able to kill yourself with a grenade. It costs 2000 points.

Stamin-Up, is almost the same as the 'Marathon'-perk in Multiplayer thus it will give you double the sprint endurance. Another effect of this perk is based on the 'Lightweight'-perk in Multiplayer but slightly a bit different. It is possible to run faster with heavy weapons (HK21, RPK, ...) as you would with a light weapon (Ballistic knife, M1911, ...). This perk costs 2000 points and is best combined with a heavy weapon.

- Enemies:
Space Monkeys, these replace the Hell Hounds (Kino der Toten) and the Pentagon Thief (Five). They only show up after a player bought a perk and they will try to steal your perks by attacking the machine. It's best to guard your machine when this round shows up. After all Monkey's got killed and no machine has been attacked, you get the chance to pick up a Max Ammo-power up and a Random Perk Bottle-power up, which brings us to the last new feature.

- Power-Ups:
Random Perk Bottle, gives you a random perk after a Monkey wave has been neutralized without them touching a Perk-a-Cola machine.

Easter Eggs:
1. Musical Easter Egg, Upon activating 3 teddy bears while holding the action button (press and hold X for a second), a song will start playing. The song in this map is "Abracadavre" by Elena Siegman. The locations of these teddy bears are:
- The Centrifuge Room (Spawn). When the player goes up the stairs, turn right, and on the end of that walkway is the first bear. It's near the Olympia.
- Near the Lunar Lander closest to the Stamin-Up is a gate. Under the red star is a teddy bear.
- Nearby the Lunar Lander past the Speed Cola, there is a teddy bear sitting on top of a wall.

2. Matryoshka Dolls, Upon activating each one of these the character you are playing with will say something. This is similar to the pictures in 'Kino der Toten' and there are 4 dolls to find. The locations are:
- Dempsey Tank's doll is on top of the flaming barrels directly left to the Claymores.
- Nikolai Belinski's doll is on the top of the shelf directly to the left of the Speed Cola.
- Takeo Masaki's doll is on the shelf directly to the left of the PhD Flopper.
- Edward Richtofen's doll is on a table with a torch shining directly right to the Stakeout.

3. The Rocket, If you activated each of the three landers, you will be able to launch the rocket near the Pack-a-Punch machine. Once it's launched you are able to destroy the rocket with a very strong weapon (Raygun, China Lake, M72 LAW, ...). Once it's destroyed a Double Points Power Up will spawn in the center of the room.

4. Kassimir Mechanism, Just like blowing up the earth in Moon or shrinking a meteorite in Shangri-Là (this will come later), this easter egg requires you to follow some steps and in the end all players will be awarded with a Death Machine that will be available for 90 seconds. Other then the other maps, this will NOT give you any achievements. If you like to do this for fun, check out the video below (Credit goes to NextGenTactics) or follow the written guide here.

- Other things you need to know about this map:
The Pack-a-Punch machine will only be accessible after performing three essential steps. Please read the descriptions of the The Eagle Has Landers and the Space Race-achievements.

- Recommended strategy
1. Weapons
- Primary weapon: The Thundergun is very useful if you got a horde of zombies running behind you. The good thing about this weapon is that you can preserve your ammo and once you have a lot of zombies lined up, you can blow them away with one single bullet. This won't gove you a lot of points (50 points per kill) but is very effective if you are cornered. Near round 15 it's a good idea to upgrade this beauty to the Zeus Cannon which will not only give you more ammo, but is also more effective since the Zombies become stronger every round. Some gamers prefer to play with a Raygun, so if you are one of those persons it's a very good idea to buy PhD Flopper since the splashes will not damage you once you have that perk.
- Secondary weapon: An automatic weapon with a large magazine like the HK21 or the RPK is very useful when you are going for points. If you lined up the zombies in a so-called 'rapetrain', you can score over 1,000 point with only 20 bullets. If you need points to buy a perk or if you want to Pack-a-Punch a weapon, then this is the guns you need to try to obtain.
- Third weapon: Since the Max Ammo power up doesn't show up a lot in later rounds, it may be a good idea to buy a weapon of the wall. Once you've Pack-a-Punch'ed that weapon the ammo costs 4,500 points but you will never get short. I like to have the MP40 with me, but getting ammo could be a problem for some gamers so maybe it's better to buy a weapon near the place you are forming a rapetrain.
- Tactical grenades: As written above there are two of these. The Matryoska Dolls cause multiple explosions and is in my opinion not very effective when you get to round 15 or higher so I would recommend the Gersch Devices. They will suck up all the Zombies into a black hole and gives you a little time to catch your breath.
- Melee weapon: The Sickle comes in very handy and is more powerful then the regular knife. This costs 4,000 points but if you buy this early, you can get your points back since you get one hit kills until round 10 or 11.

Claymores aren't really needed and it's your choice if you want to buy it.

2. Perks
- Juggernog: Highly recommended since you can take more hits with this perk equipped.
- Speed Cola: You will reload your weapons quicker which can give you a small advantage when Zombies are close and you need to reload quickly. This is also highly recommend when you have a weapon such as the RPK or the HK-21 equipped.
- PhD Flopper: This is very useful since you will not get hurt by your own grenades if you throw some to create crawlers. You won't take any damage if you shoot rockets with the M72 LAW or a similar weapon to close to you. You can also create a small nuke when diving from a height.

Now, depending on playing solo or in co-op; I will write other recommended perks.

- Quick Revive: Highly recommended while playing solo. You can only buy this 3 times in a whole game so watch out for the Zombies coming. If you have the Gersch Devices in co-op you should have more then enough time to play without Quick Revive.
- Mule Kick: I only buy this when I'm playing co-op and already got Gersch Devices from the box. This will give you a room for a third weapon but if you get downed, you will lose this perk and thus your third weapon. Make sure you don't have a powerful weapon in that third slot.

3. Rapetrains
Everybody can create rapetrains. It will take some practise but you need to be confident enough to do so. The principle is very simple: run circles. Actually: WALK circles since running could get you cornered. Only run for a small distance to get past Zombies running in front of you. In this particular map, there are more then enough big area's to do so. I recommend on the platform near the Grenades and the PhD Flopper machine but the Pack-a-Punch area is very good to run circles as well. As a last thing, the spawn room could be very good to build some points. Just watch out that the spinning thingy of doom doesn't kill you.

With these new things summed up, it's time to grab some easy achievements. Please note that the achievement description is written below the achievements themselves and can be obtained any time due to luck or playing with friends.

The eagle has landers Achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops

The eagle has landers49 (35)

Online/Offline - This achievement can be obtained in either an online or offline modeSingle Player - This achievement can be obtained in single player game modesCooperative - This achievement can be obtained in non-versus game modes where players work together
In Ascension, escape on all 3 lunar landers.

This should be the first achievement you obtain on this map and it's needed to get this this achievement in order to unlock the Pack-a-Punch machine. To get this achievement, you will need to turn on the power and get all landers to the original spawn location. There are 3 landers that you need to activate, each on one side of the map. Just like doors, the landers require you to trade some points to let them travel (250 points each). This is best done at the end of a round with a crawler left.

Since it's pretty difficult to describe where the landers are, I added in a video from the Achievement Hunters Community video's. All credit goes to BioHRay.

In Ascension, Pack-a-Punch a weapon by round 8.

If you activated the three landers, a rocket will be able to launch. Run back to the location where the Power Room is. Now, there will be a button available that you need to press to activate the rocket. Run back outside and run towards a gate (costs 1250 points). If you still have 5000 points left, it should be possible to Pack-a-Punch your weapon before round 8. This might be easier playing with friends if they 'buy' all doors and landers.

If you are having problems, follow this video from Achievement Hunters Community video's. Again, all credit goes to BioHRay.

If you are going for this solo, you can use the video below. All credits for this one goed to EAT4THELOLZ.

In Ascension, kill a space monkey with a fire trap.

Since you are at or around round 8 (if you are doing this in one run), you might want to buy your first perk. I recommend Juggernog, since it let's you take 3 hits instead of 2 and is recommended if you want to attack the leaderboards. Buy it for it's usual price (2500 points) and finish all Zombie Rounds until a Monkey Round shows up. If you are playing with friends, let two guys guard the Jug Perk-A-Cola machine while you head towards the gate I mentioned earlier. There, you will be able to activate a fire-trap (costs 1000 points). When a monkey is coming for you, just activate it and watch it barbecue. Achievement unlocked!

They are going THROUGH!55 (35)

Online/Offline - This achievement can be obtained in either an online or offline modeSingle Player - This achievement can be obtained in single player game modesCooperative - This achievement can be obtained in non-versus game modes where players work together
In Ascension, kill at least 5 zombies with 1 Gersh Device.

This last achievement includes the Gersh Devices, the new tactical grenades. These can only be obtained from the Mystery Box (950 points each spin or 10 points each spin while a Bon FireSale Power-Up has been picked up) and that is really the hardest part in getting this achievement. When you obtained these, let a new round start and 'camp' near the first lander (where the HE Grenades can be bought from the wall). Once zombies start spawning, throw one down the stairs and let them get sucked in. When holding a gun, you get 10 points for each Zombie that has been killed by it or 50 points when you are holding the Ballistic Knife.

With this achievement unlocked, you have finished your first DLC-pack and got an additional 150 Gamerscore!

Escalation

Again, this DLC-pack contains four new Multiplayer maps (Zoo, Convoy, Hotel and Stockpile) and a Zombie map (Call of The Dead). And again, there are no achievement related to the Multiplayer maps, but once again there are four to obtain in Call of The Dead. This map places you on a film set with the famous director George Romero. For those who don't know George, he is best known for his movies regarding a possible Zombie Apocalypse, which is exactly how this map is being introduced. For the first time in any of the other Zombie-maps, you will not play with the regular 4 protagonists, but with 4 new characters being: Sarah Michelle Gellar (the first female character), Danny Trejo, Robert Englund and Michael Rooker. These four people are actually actors and were recording a video with George. Just like in the previous Zombie-map (Ascension), there are some new features which I will explain below.

- Weapons:
V-R11, this weapon can change a Zombie into a human. Once transformed, the human being will start shouting and screaming and running and will eventually freeze inside a pool of water (or you can kill it). This can be a very useful distraction if you need to catch a breath since Zombies will start following him instead of you but only if the transformed Zombie is closer to them then you are.
The Scavenger, this new weapon is an bolt-action Sniper rifle which isn't exactly my favourite class of weapon. Although this weapon does a lot of damage (5,660 per bullet; 11,320 when Pack-a-Punch'ed), players should be careful not to harm themselves since the explosion after a bullet hit a target could kill them when they are too close. Just like any other sniper rifle, this weapon is best used from a far distance.
Semtex Grenades replace your Frag Grenades when bought and are replenished by 3 every time a new round starts. Unlike Frags, these grenades sticks to the surface or person they touch first and they do significantly more damage.

Just like in Ascension, the Matryoshka Dolls and the Sickle return.

- Perks:
Deadshot Daiquiri, is comparable with the 'Steady Aim' perk in Multiplayer. Instead of aiming on a Zombie's chest, you will automatically aim on their head and have less recoil. While using a sniper rifle (Scavenger, Dragunov, ...), you won't have any sway after firing a bullet.

Other perks as the PhD Flopper and Stamin-Up return, along with the usual Perk-a-Cola's. Double Tap Root Beer is included in this map, which wasn't in Ascension.

- Enemies:
George Romero, as in the opening cinematic players could see him being kidnapped by a Zombie. Upon starting the level he re-appears as a Zombie with a Stagelight as his weapon. George can be in two states. The 'calm'-mode and the 'rage'-mode. When George is calm, he is running around towards the player that is the closest to him. He will speak some lines and growl from time to time but nothing will harm the player. When in rage-mode on the other hand, George will start tailing the closest player. In this mode, you will see that his clothes are ripped and you will be able to see exposed rotten flesh. The most effective way to calm him down is by getting him inside a pool of water, but shooting him with a V-R11 calms him down for a small amount of time as well. When George is in this mode, he will start swinging his Stagelight which can down gamers with 2 hits (or 3 when having Juggernog equipped). If he smashes his weapon towards the ground, he will electrify everything in his surroundings which can slow you down while running away from him. George turns into his 'rage'-mode when a player shoots or touches him but also when you pass too close towards him.

Other then the regular zombies, there are no other enemies included here. While playing this large map, you will notice some ziplines but be warned: Zombies and George can use them as well.

- Power-Ups:
Random Perk Bottle, gives you a random perk after killing George.
Lightning Bolt, gives you a Wunderwaffle DG-2 which is a Wonder Weapon from the Zombies in COD: World At War. This weapon has no time limit and will only disappear when all your ammo ran out. This weapon can not be Pack-a-Punch'ed but your ammo will replenish when you pick up a Max Ammo power up. You will lose this weapon if you pick up a Death Machine power up or get downed and while this weapon is active, you will not be able to switch weapons or revive teammates.

- Easter Eggs:
1. Musical Easter Egg, upon activating 3 meteorite stones while holding the action button (press and hold X for a second), a song will start playing. The song in this map is "Not Ready To Die" by Avenged Sevenfold. This track was recorded exclusively for the game and is not featured on any album at the time of writing. Small sidenote: This was the first song featuring the new drummer since former drummer The Rev died. The locations of these stones are:
- In the spawn area, near the water front on top of some metal barrels. The meteorite is on top of the most left barrel.
- When you get to the lighthouse (opening the debris on the left starting from spawn), you will see a set of stairs near a Mystery Box spawn area. Go down until you reach the PhD Flopper room and look at the opposite site to a bed and a night drawer with a clock on top of it. The stone is underneath that night drawer.
- When you get to the ship (opening the debris on the right starting from spawn), you will see a set of stairs leading up towards the deck of the ship. When taking the left side, you will be in a place that looks like a dining area. The last stone can be found in a booth near the right end of the ship.

2. Ensemble Cast/Stand-In, with this easter egg it's possible to obtain 2 of the possible 5 achievements. Read on to find out more!

- Other things you need to know about this map:
The Pack-a-Punch machine has three possible spawn locations and will only spawn after you turned on the power. To find the Pack-a-Punch machine, you can look up in the air for a bright yellow light. The possible spawn locations are:
> At spawn, to the right of Quick Revive perk
> In the second ship, near Juggernog
> Behind the lighthouse, just before the Stamin-Up cabin

- Recommended strategy:
1. Weapons
- Primary weapon: Since you don't have a lot of choice in weapons, I prefer to have a Raygun and have it Pack-a-Punch'ed by round 15. Although this weapon is very useful, it's not needed with the strategy I include later for this map. Remember to buy PhD Flopper, so you don't get hit by the splashes of the Wonder Weapon.
- Secondary weapon: A powerful automatic weapon with a large magazine for the same reason as stated above for Ascension. This will actually stay the same for the next two DLC-packs as well.
- Third weapon: This is completely up to you. With the strategy stated below it may be better to have the Scavenger or the V-R11 equipped. The Scavenger for taking out a lot of Zombies, the V-R11 to make George disappear. Both weapons need to be Pack-a-Punch'ed but more info is stated below.
- Tactical grenades: Since there is only one choice; the Matryoshka Dolls. This is not needed in any way but why not pick them up if you get them from the Mystery Box.
- Melee weapon: Just like with the Tactical Grenades, you only have one weapon to choose from. The Sickle is a one-hit kill up to round 10 and is again optitional if you follow my strategy.

Claymores aren't really needed and it's your choice if you want to buy it. I do recommend Semtex grenades, but only because they cause more damage then a regular Frag.

2. Perks
- Juggernog: Highly recommended since you can take more hits with this perk equipped. This is the key to my strategy written below.
- Mule Kick: Since it's needed to have either the V-R11 or the Scavenger equipped (both can be an option too), you will need room for a third weapon. I recommend a heavy automatic rifle, but a lot of gamers prefer to have the Raygun equipped, which brings me to my next recommended perk.

- Speed Cola: If you have a RPK or an HK-21 equipped instead of a Raygun, this perk is very useful. You will reload faster which comes in handy when running circles.

3. Co-Op Strategy
This strategy is very useful when playing with 3-4 players and only provides information when you are going for the Wonder Weapon-related achievements being the Pack-a-Punch'ed V-R11 and the Scavenger. I recommend starting this strategy if at least 2 of the players in the match are confident enough to run circles so you can switch places.

3.1 Get Juggernog and have one player that tries to get the V-R11 from the box. Hopefully you'll get a good weapon like the Galil, Commando, RPK, HK-21 or the Raygun during this. This weapon is crucial since you can make George disappear if he's in a pool and the V-R11 is Pack-a-Punch'ed since he will destroy your circle if you don't let him disappear. The other players in the match can go for the Scavenger and at least one player should try to obtain this. If you don't get either of these weapons by round 12, go to the next step and try to obtain one of each weapons in the next rounds.

3.2 Open the area near the Hero's Vault. This will bring the total cost on 1750 points on the Lighthouse-side of the map, which is not a lot of points to get to high rounds. One player should stay in this area (a player that is confident enough to run circles) while the others go up the ship to the upper deck near the power room. One player should cover the window inside the power room, while another player should cover the window outside near the stairs and the other player should cover the stairs. While playing with 3 people instead of 4, one player should be in the power room while the other one keeps the stairs and the window near it covered. At this point; no more doors need to be purchased!

3.3 The player with the Scavenger equipped can take out a lot of Zombies that tail the player that's running circles from the top of the ship. Using this strategy, you will be able to get the Scavenger-related achievement, without having worries since the player at the bottom of the lighthouse is the closest to spawn area's for Zombies he should get most of them. The player that is running circles should have the Pack-a-Punch'ed V-R11 so he can make George disappear every round but be sure to get him inside the water before you shoot him. Upgrading the Scavenger is optional.

3.4 ENJOY!

4. Solo Strategy/Rape Trains
This is a really large map and it's very easy to create rapetrains. Although George can destroy them (by accidently shooting him so he gets into his 'rage'-mode), the V-R11 can make him disappear if George is in the water AND if the weapon is Pack-a-Punch'ed, thus it's highly recommended to have this gun equipped. Good areas to create rapetrains are: Spawn (very large area and space enough to escape of you're almost covered), bottom of the lighthouse (read point 3 in this part), the lighthouse itself (the first and second floor are very easy to create them if you keep pressing yourself towards the outside wall and only run if a Zombies is coming straight towards you (through a window)/door but watch out for George while running inside here).

With a lot of knowledge, it should be possible to pass this map pack in no time! Again, achievement descriptions are written below the achievements themselves.

Quiet on the Set Achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops

In Call of the Dead, cut the lights on the Director.

I recommend doing this solo since you have to kill George and he will have more health if you play with more team members. Start a game and keep restarting until the box spawns in front of the lighthouse. When you have enough points, clear the debris (750 points) and hit the box 1 or 2 times. If you get a good gun, keep it; if not, start a new round and give it another try (or two). Personally, I had the RPK and HK-21 which is not good enough to kill George but gives you a small advantage in damage. Other good guns are all the sniper rifles (does 1000 damage when shooting at George's head) but try to evade the Scavenger or the Raygun. The splashes from the Raygun could kill your crawlers and the explosion caused by the Scavenger could do the same. At the end of the round, while you are at the spawning area, get a few crawlers and have it electrocuted (easily done by shooting George while he is near them) so they don't freeze inside water. Be sure to have some points left: 4,000 should do the trick. Once you are set (personally I tried and succeeded at round 8), empty your guns but only at George. When you've ran out of ammo (or almost ran out of ammo) and you have 3 or more crawlers, kill them all except two and hope for a Max Ammo power up. I prefer shooting the crawlers over knifing so you can avoid the Nuke power up. If you get the Max Ammo, PERFECT. If you don't, buy the M14 off the wall and empty it on George. Repeat this process until he dies and you will get this achievement. You will see the health of George in his Stagelight. It should change from BLUE to flickering BLUE/ORANGE unto flickering ORANGE and finally you will cut the lights on the director.

Note: If you kill George with the V-R11, you will NOT get the achievement since you don't really kill him but change him to a human being. You can weaken George with it, but be sure not to actually kill him with it.

Shooting on Location Achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops

Shooting on Location48 (20)

Online/Offline - This achievement can be obtained in either an online or offline modeSingle Player - This achievement can be obtained in single player game modesCooperative - This achievement can be obtained in non-versus game modes where players work together
In Call of the Dead, kill 10 zombies with one Scavenger shot from over 100 feet away.

For this achievement, you will need one of the new weapons; the Scavenger. If you decided to skip the first part of this page, allow me to quote myself about the weapon:

The Scavenger, this new weapon is an bolt-action Sniper rifle which isn't exactly my favourite class of weapon. Although this weapon does a lot of damage (5,660 per bullet; 11,320 when Pack-a-Punch'ed), players should be careful not to harm themselves since the explosion after a bullet hits a target could kill them when they are too close. Just like any other sniper rifle, this weapon is best used from a far distance.

Now that we know about what weapon we are talking about, it's time for me to explain how to obtain this achievement easily. I recommend trying to get this with at least one person and in one of the earlier rounds. First, you need to make sure the box spawned either at the Lighthouse or underneath the Power Room. That way, you don't have to spend more points then needed to reach the Mystery Box. Next, you will need a total of 3,500 points to open up 4 locations. 2 locations are on the side of the large ship (debris opening the stairs towards the ship and debris opening stairs on your way to the power room) and the other 2 locations are situated at the side of the Lighthouse (debris to open up the path towards the Lighthouse and the door on the opposite side of the Hero's Vault). Of Course the person who is going for the achievement will need some more points to get some shots at the box. Please also note that the person with the Scavenger should buy a fully automatic weapon to defend himself at the top of the ship. In this case, the MPL or the MP5K are recommended since you don't need to open more doors then needed and it's only 1,000 points for each of these guns.

When you and your partner are ready to give this achievement a shot, let the person with the Scavenger go up the ship until he is on the same floor as the Power Switch. The doors towards the Switch do not need to be bought, as you will spawn more Zombies on top of the ship. Hold out at the top of stairs on the right side of the window.

The other person will need to go to the bottom of the lighthouse. This person will only be running circles and he will also needs to make sure that George stays with him. Make a circle in this pretty huge area and don't kill any zombies running in your rapetrain. Once the zombies stopped spawning in, and there is no fog to worry about, the person on top of the ship can take his shot. You should kill more then 10 zombies with the explosion, which will pop the achievement.

For more information about getting this achievement in co-op, I recommend the video below. It's recorded and edited by me, with special credits to POLAK fr06 to help me out with this.

For people who would like to get this solo, it's not that simple. The easiest way might be creating more then 10 crawlers with grenades or the Raygun in the big area at the bottom of the Lighthouse. Once you have 10 or more crawlers, run towards the spawn area and once you are there, aim for the first crawler you see. Hope for the best (100 feet is quite far and might not be enough) when you shoot and keep retrying to get this achievement. For more information about the solo method, please watch the video below:

Stuntman Achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops

In Call of the Dead, make a zombie explode using the V-R11.

The next achievement will involve the other new weapon, the VR-11. Since this gun is pretty rare to get from the mystery box, I recommend racking up a lot of points until you can afford to spend your points at the mystery box a lot. Rapetrains will probably your best bet, as bullets go right through Zombies. Also, when you have Instant Kill; kinving will be a better idea (130 points each kill) but be sure not to get double slapped since that will down you right away.

Once you have the VR-11, keep playing until you have enough points to Pack-a-Punch it (this requires 5,000 points). To find the PaP-machine, you will need to look for a bright yellow light in the air because the machine will spawn at your spawnpoint (near Quick Revive), behind the lighthouse (bottom floor, near the Stamin-Up perk) or inside the ship (near the Juggernog-machine). After PaP'ing, shoot a Zombie three times until he explodes. This will force the achievement to unlock.

Ensemble Cast Achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops

These next two achievements can be earned while going for the easter egg in co-op, although the Stand-In achievement can also be earned offline. In this easter egg, you will have to free the heroes from the Vault, since they got stuck in there while teleporting (hurray for Richtofen clap).

The two methods will be explained below in a table and it's recommended that you read through the text at least once to get familiar with the easter egg. I dare to say that this easter egg is one of the easier ones in the Black Ops games so you shouldn't encounter any problems. The only problem you could encounter is getting the VR-11 from the box, since that weapon is required to complete a step. I recommend to box early in the game (if all doors are opened off course) so you get it early (I had it already in round 5 and completed the easter egg on round 11).

Step 1: Turn on the power
Follow the chalk lines on the shipside of the map to turn on the power (2,750 points are needed). After this, go to the lighthouse side of the map (750 points needed) and go knife the Vault. The heroes will engage a conversation

Step 2: Find the fuse
Near the end of the conversation, Richtofen will mention something about a fuse. The good thing is you don’t have to open any doors to find this since it will spawn in the room above the Vault (in the PhD Flopper-room). The fuse should spawn next to a locker or on a table with some batteries on it. If you found it, press and hold X to pick it up. Once you retrieved it (it should be in your HUD), go back to the Vault and on the right side you should see a fusebox. Press and hold X to put the fuse in and knife the door again.

Step 3: Blow up 4 generators
There are four generators to blow up and you will need some explosive powers to do so. You start with Frag grenades, but it may be good to have the Semtex grenades (250 points, at the back of the ship) or the crossbow (which can be pulled from the Mystery Box). I don’t really have to mention that it might be easier to see these generators if the fog has cleared up. The four generators are at the following spots:
- On the opposite side of the Vault.
- At the shipside of the map, near the Double Tap-perk at sea level.
- On ground level between Double Tap and Juggernog. You can see the lights from this one as soon as you leave the PhD Flopper room and look towards the ship.
- Behind the lighthouse, near the Stamin-Up perk. This one can be seen through a window at the back of the hut.
Once you have blown them all up, go back to the Vault and knife the door again for another part of the conversation.

Step 4: Find Vodka (This step does not need to be done in the solo method, move on to Step 7)
Nikolai will need Vodka, so you will have to look for it. To pick it up successfully, one player will have to knife the bottle and another player should be right beneath it, pressing and holding X if it is out of the ice. If you did it successfully, it will appear in your HUD but if the bottle fell to the ground, you will need to look at another spawning point. The bottle spawns at the following locations:
- At the lighthouse-side of the map. On a corner overhanging the catwalk (right next to the PhD Flopper room).
- Just below the previous spawn location, on a rail next to the metal steps; right above the boardwalk (near Quick Revive).
- On your way to Juggernog, there will be a catwalk with some debris (a boat, which costs 1000 points to clear).
- On your way to the power room, on a bright yellow railing
Once you have the Vodka bottle, go back to the Vault and put the bottle on the right side of the Vault. Knife the door again for more instructions

Step 5: Lighthouse Dials (This step does not need to be done in the solo method, move on to Step 7)
You will have to buy every single debris in the ship (750 points each, for a total of 2250 points), so you can fully access the lighthouse on every floor. The dials (which are on every floor), can changed by pressing X so it moves up 1 spot. To get the dials in the correct order, follow the next steps:
- 4th floor: change it to number 2
- Change the 2nd floor dial until you get number 7 at the 3rd floor
- 1st floor: change it to number 6
- Change the 3rd floor dial until you get number 4 on the 2nd floor
- 4th floor: change it to number 2 again, which causes the dial on the 3rd floor makes the number 7
The dials should be as following (from top to bottom):
> 4th floor (color: yellow): 2
> 3rd floor (color: orange): 7
> 2nd floor (color: blue): 4
> 1st floor (color: purple): 6

After this, it is safe to do the next step. The Vault door does not has to be knifed.

Step 6: Radios (This step does not need to be done in solo, move on to Step 7)

The radios need to be activated in order and it is recommended to have one player at the shipside of the map while the other player is at the lighthouse side of the map. To activate a radio, press and hold X until you hear something like a buzzer. The locations (and activations) are as following:
- Below the power room, on top of a console
- Near Stamin-Up, on top of a barrel
- In a shipping container between the MP40 and the zipline from the lighthouse. It is lying sideways.
- Near the Vault, underneath the stairs

When you completed this step, a flare will appear and Morse code can be heard. If you don’t see any of these, repeat this step.

Step 7: Shipping controls
Go to the power room and you should see a steering wheel and 3 handles. Assuming you haven’t touched any of these, follow the next steps:
- Turn the wheel twice to the right side. To do so, you will have to face the right hand side and hold X so that the brown handle is in the 5 o’clock stand (or 150 degrees)
- Pull the left lever once by holding X
- Pull the right lever three times by pressing and holding X
- The middle lever does not move

If done correctly, you will not be able to move any of these; the Morse code will stop transmitting and a submarine will surface between Speed Cola and Juggernog. If this doesn’t happen, repeat the process.

Step 8: Fog-Horns (This step does not need to be done in solo, move on to step 9)
There are 4 horns and they need to be activated in order. 2 can be found near Speed Cola (take the slide down) and the other two can be found at the bottom of the lighthouse. Press and hold X until you hear a horn to do the next one. The order is as following:
- Horn 1 is near the lighthouse, close to the water
- Horn 2 is right besides the Speed Cola machine. Turn right immediately after going down the slide
- Horn 3 is next to the lighthouse, close to the Vault
- Horn 4 is near the Speed Cola perk, behind an icy rock.
If done correctly, you should see a green light beam onto the lighthouse from the submarine. This beam will be reflected inside the lighthouse in the center of the spiral staircase.

Step 9: The Golden Rod
For this step, you will need the VR-11; which can only be obtained from the box (950 points each try or 10 points each try while in a BonFire Sale). Start a new round and try to have at least 3 crawlers. When no Zombies spawn in anymore, it is time to change a zombie into a human using the VR-11.
Be sure to have some fire power, because it will be required to kill the transformed Zombie. Pack-a-Punch’ed weapons should do the trick but also explosives (like from the Scavenger) are very powerful.
Once you have transformed a Zombie, he will run to the bottom of the lighthouse. He will then go inside the green beam of light and once he is in there, you will have to kill him. If you playing with 4 players, it may be recommend to have one person on each floor but while playing solo you will have to follow the spiral staircase up while shooting at him.
If done correctly, the golden rod will rise from the top of the lighthouse until it reaches the bottom. Pick it up by holding X and get back to the Vault. Get it inside the same tube as you did with the Vodka bottle and knife the door.

Step 10: Broken fuse
To avoid spoilers, I’m not really going into detail but at a certain point, the fuse will break (at the rightside of the Vault). Knife it to fix it and listen to the last part of the conversation. Once done, a new power up will spawn, which will reward you with the Wunderwaffle DG-2 from COD: World at War. This weapon will only disappear if your ammo is depleted and while holding this weapon you will not be able to hit the Mystery Box, buy weapons/ammo/perks or revive any co-op partners. Your ammo will only be replenished if you get a Max Ammo power up. Either way, with the achievements unlocked you can take some revenge on the Zombies by slaughtering them until you go down smile.

If you have problems with this at any point, I recommend the video's below. The firts one will show you how to get this easter egg solo and the second video will show you how to get the easter egg in co-op (from 2 to 4 players). The video's are both uploaded and edited by RoosterTeeth/AchievementHunters.

You completed another map pack? You are on a roll clap! Next up is Shangri-La, in my opinion one of my least favourite ones but you will have to play through this anyway if you want to max out your GamerScore or completion percentage. Prepare for a hell of a ride, you'll need it!
