I would like to thank Achievaholics on YouTube and credit them for all the videos provided in this walkthrough.
This game has 3 game modes and i will go into detail on each single one of them
1. STORY
The story mode is really straight forward and even though there are some things you might miss, they are not really missable at all. Simply try to get all the collectibles on each level and play through the game on easy and you shouldnt have any problems at all. Make sure to always use the best ship available and the best equipment possible. To your support squads I cant say that any is useless, BUT I strongly recommend a squad which works with your gamestyle rather than against it. Being defensive with health support wont help anyone for example. I really enjoied the campaign and for an arcade game its rather one of the better ones out there.
So, basically we will start with the tutorial mission first. Simply choose it from the options menu and play through it. However you can miss the collectible so I discuss that one FIRST! I also will post a video for that specific achievement. As soon as you got it, finish the level and sack in your 2 achievements.
Find the hidden upgrade in the Prologue mission.
Before you actually start on the campaign watch that video carefully since it will tell you where each single colletible is in the whole game (I wrote it here since its only one video and you should see it before you start on the campaign and might miss some)
Now its your turn on the campaign. The first achievement you get in that mode is the one for destroying a behemoth artillery ship. You can't miss it because it's needed to be destroyed for story progression. I found a video as well, for those in need for one.
Destroy a Behemoth artillery ship.
Following that, you should get the one for defeating the prize cruiser. Embedded is also a video.
Defeat the Prize Cruiser.
At the end of chapter 4 you should've unlocked all the ships so the achievement pops on it own.
Unlock all player ships in the game.
The next one on the list should be the battle against the prototype weapon. Even though this fight is rather easy, I also found a video on that one for those which need any help with it.
Defeat the Biotica Serpenta.
Beat the Ultima Biotica once more in its final stage and you get of course an achievement for it.
Defeat the Biotica Ultima.
If done correctly, you should have all the collectibles BEFORE you face the ultima!
Collect all Collectibles in the game.
Now, start the prologue level and choose INSANE (or whatever the highest difficulty is). This level is the shortest and by far the easiest for the achievement on extreme and as soon as you get to the big cruiser you have to defend, use health-ships over attack crafts since you are not allowed to die once. Its not hard, just take your time.
Finish an episode without dying on Extreme.
2. MULTIPLAYER
The multiplayer is local co-op only, so sign in a second controller and simply let your main one win 10 times in chase mode. Make sure to set the time to the lowest to make it as fast as possible. In case someone struggles, here is a video.
3. SKIRMISH
This is actually the reason why this game takes that long actually to complete and only a few have ever done it. You will have to face 6 waves of enemies which doesnt sound that hard, BUT the enemies are ridiculously tough (not to mention the amount of enemies) and deal way too much damage. You will struggle at this and even after trying for 2 hours straight I wasnt able to do it. The tips are helping, but they are only tricks so try to come with your own answers since there is literarily no help online for that. However, use the map skirmish gates since it gives you at least a little breathing space, but be aware that they might sandwich you and believe me, you wont survive. Destroy the planes for health pick ups but be aware that if you let them lay around for too long they disapear. you can start from wave 19, but its not even somehow a relief so train a lot, you will need to memorize every single wave!! So, that said, you should get this achievement sooner or later and on the way, for sure, the 2500 kills.
Here are some more tips to help you survive Skirmish:
Skirmish should always be played on the map Skirmish Gates as the gates allow you some breathing room at times from enemy fire. Also, around waves 23/24, you'll want to make full use of your mines and torpedoes, as the enemies in these waves are brutal. Furthermore, when you see an enemy that glows green, if you kill him, he will drop a new weapon for you to use, which is absolutely necessary if you want to survive through this. Also try to use your special move (Y button, where the missiles drop from the sky and kill all the enemies on the screen) when the green ship for the wave is currently pursuing, since those ships are usually stronger and more aggressive. If you happen to be good at corralling zombies in Call of Duty, the same theories apply here in Aqua. There are only a set amount of ships that spawn during a wave, and for every ship you kill, a new one spawns somewhere along your path. During the rounds with the (mostly red) suicider ships (they look kind of like syringes, actually), they will die if they come into contact with any closed gates--use this to your advantage.
Here's a brief description of the waves:
19 - This first wave is easy with easy enemies. Try not to get shot, but if you do, head for the planes which appear halfway through the wave (or after a few minutes).
20 - This wave has flamethrower ships and the little destroyer ships that flip over every time you shoot them. Just be patient with the little ships and keep your distance from the bigger ones as you chip away at their numbers. You should get your first opportunity to use your special during this wave. Try to save it for when the green ship appears.
21 - Wave 21 has ships that shoot oil into the ocean (the oil slows you down dramatically, avoid it!) and suicider ships (the ones that look like syringes). Take your time to dodge the suiciders and lure them into crashing into closed gates so that you don't have to actually focus on fighting them. Once they're cleared out, kill the oil ships. For killing the green ship you get a squad. The squad helps out (especially if there's a medic), but usually gets killed by 23.
22 - The ships in this level are fast and drop mines, so try to keep moving for the entire wave. Also, drop mines as you go, as the other ships will probably get killed by those mines that you drop. Save your torpedoes though, and if you can grab more mines (safely), do so. Try to keep your squad alive if you can.
23 - WARNING, THIS WAVE IS VERY FRUSTRATING. The ships in this wave can sustain a lot of damage and also CAUSE great damage (they can kill you in 2 or 3 hits). The only weakpoint they have is that they cannot shoot behind them. The goal here is to pick at them from a distance (but be careful! their cannon shots can shoot quite a distance away, and at a very fast speed) and also to get one of them on their own, get behind him and then make him humble (by killing him from behind). Take your time with this wave. Just pick at the ships one at a time, and make sure you use your special once the green ship makes his appearance. If you make it past this level, you've gotten past the hardest part. I hope you have at least one extra life after this wave.
24 - The ships in this wave use shields, so don't just shoot carelessly. First, avoid the suiciders (again!) and try to get them to kill themselves just like before. Next, learn the timing of the shields. If you shoot at the shields when they're up, your bullets reflect off the shields and come back to you. Take your time (common theme of this gametype) and pick away at the ships slowly while their shields are down.
25 - Don't let your excitement get you killed. Though this wave is cake compared to what you just survived, you probably have no extra lives at this point. Try to save your special for the green ship, and just be cool while you take out the ships of this wave. Once you finish the wave, achievement unlocked:
Survive 25 waves in Skirmish mode.
Congrats, you now got a full 200G which you can really be proud of (for the last achievement it should be worth way more!!).
