3. Story walkthrough
You’ll start off in the Ice Kingdom, where upon you’ll need to gather some resources to finish off the Fire Pit. Once you’ve done this you’ll receive the Blueprint for a Snow House. Build this and you’ll receive a Heart. Drop the Heart into the Snow House that you just built and you’ll receive more Keflings to play with. You’ll have noticed that Doug is frozen in ice, so place him near the Fire Pit and he’ll be set free (It’s amazing that he’s still alive!) which will earn you your first achievement:
Thaw out poor frozen Doug
Good job. 1 achievement down, 11 to go. Doug will now help you construct buildings. This isn’t of much use, but every little bit helps.
Continue through the storyline which includes scaring off the Dragon and repairing the gate to the Forest Kingdom and you’ll eventually enter the next stage which is the aforementioned Forest Kingdom. Once here, you can go and grab the “Go Ahead And Jump” achievement which requires you to “Watch a Kefling bounce through a long series of cannons”. As soon as you enter the Forest Kingdom, grab a Kefling and head to the South-West of the map. You’ll see a series of cannons in a specific arrangement. Do not move any of the cannons. Instead, drop your Kefling into one of the cannons and watch the poor soul bounce from cannon to cannon. After a short time has passed the achievement will unlock. You can go and mess around doing something else if you wish as the Kefling will keep bouncing in the cannons in an endless loop. Please, for the sake of the Kefling kingdom, remove the Kefling from the cannons after you’ve earned the achievement. I don’t want to be hunted down by an angry Kefling mob on a witch hunt for my blood!
Watch a kefling bounce through a long series of cannons
Once you’ve finished abusing Keflings in the cannons, it’s time for some real work. Continuing with the storyline you’ll eventually end up at Chapter 4 which asks you to go back to the Ice Kingdom to speak with the Ice Chief. Here, he will ask you to build a Tower for the Dragon. Once you have built said Tower, you’ll enter a cut-scene with Doug where upon the “Endless Doug” achievement will unlock. (If this achievement doesn’t unlock here, just keep playing through the game and it will eventually unlock. This has been reported by a few people as buggy)
Get to know Doug through different conversations
Upon your return to the Ice Kingdom, during Chapter 4, you’ll eventually get the option to build an Ice Palace. Build it and “The Star At Night” achievement will unlock. It’s a weird achievement as the description for it isn’t that clear.
Help enhance your world with plenty of culture stars from fancy buildings
Delving further into the storyline, you’ll eventually get to Chapter 6 which requires you to enter the Desert Kingdom. As soon as you do you’ll earn the following achievement:
Visit the Ice Kingdom, the Desert Kingdom, and the Forest Kingdom
During your stay in the Desert Kingdom you have the opportunity to earn another achievement. To earn it, you’ll need to meet the last of the builder brothers, Broodie (you will have 4 following you around up to this point). You’ll need to build a glass bridge to reach the Princess and Broodie. Do this by first building a Glassmith. Once complete, you now have access to build the bridge.
Talk to the whole family of builder brothers
Now, it’s simply a matter of finishing off of the storyline, throughout which you will have been given special gifts from various characters. They tell you to put these gifts somewhere safe. At the end of Chapter 7, you will be instructed to build a Castle for the King. Once built, you will be rewarded with your final gift which is the Giants Blueprint. This will enable you to construct your final reward from all the gifts you’ve gathered throughout the game. Once you’ve built your gift you will be rewarded with an achievement. I won’t reveal what the gift is, that’s for you to find out!
Help finish the Giant's Gift from the pieces the keflings give you
You have now completed the storyline and should only have 5 more achievements to get.
The next achievement can be earned at any point during the game. When you construct a building for the first time, your builders will take heed of how you built it. The next time you construct a building of the same type, your builders will automatically finish it for you. For example: Construct an ordinary House in the Ice Kingdom. Then create the materials you need to build another house and place one of the materials down on the ground where you’d like the House to be. Your builders will then finish off the House for you. What clever chaps. Repeat this process 10 times to earn the achievement. Listening to The Beatles’ “Help” whilst doing this achievement is optional.
Start 10 buildings the builders finish without you
“Come on, Vogue!” I didn’t have developers NinjaBee as Madonna fans, but who am I to judge? For this achievement you need to use 20 different emotes. Your library of emotes can be found by pressing on the D-pad. You gain emotes by progressing through the story. Towards the end of the game you will have earned at least 20, so it’s simply a case of selecting 20 different emotes for the achievement to unlock. Selecting the same emote 20 times will not work.
Express yourself with 20 different emotes
The last of the achievement that you can do without help from another player is the “I Am The City” achievement which requires you to build 100 buildings. All 100 buildings must be standing at the same time throughout all 3 Kingdoms for this to unlock. You should have a large majority done whilst completing the story. For the remaining buildings, I’d recommend the repeated building of Houses are they only require 4 different resources, don’t worry about sticking hearts in them. This is where your builders come in handy as they’ll speed this process up for you. This can take a while to earn, but just keep plugging away.
You can check your progress by navigating to “Total Buildings Built” from the Leaderboards in the Main Menu, although it can take a few minutes to update. Another thing to note is that you may need to build more than the quoted figure of 100 for the achievement to unlock. In which case, just keep building Houses until it does.
Help out with building 100 buildings
You have now earned all of the single player achievements. You’ll now need the help of another World of Keflings player to gain the last two.
