3. Story walkthrough
1 - The story
The first thing you'll see when you start the single player career is a short movie with Shaun White skating and transforming the city. Near the end, he gets caught by the Ministry who thinks colour, having emotions and freedom of speech are bad. The next thing you'll see will be you walking around towards Shaun and you'll receive his board. This transforms you to a "free" person and you can now edit your skater. While doing this, your first achievement should pop.
Continue through some short tutorials and after converting 15 citizens, you'll have to go and meet the old grey guy (Jonah) who was talking to you during the first tutorials. He teaches you about 'Shaping Rails' and 'Verts'. After you have finished those, you'll get the second story related achievement.

After the tutorial with the Shaping Rails and a short assignment, you'll have to go meet Jonah once again. He tells you to free Bob, a guy who owned 5 skateshops in the area. While talking with Jonah, you'll unlock the ability to reach Flow-level 2. Achieve this (by reaching 750 Flow-points) and free Bob. After you set him free, you'll unlock new tutorials and a new area (and finally some background music!). First, you need to influence a 'door' (which is more like a cat-portal) with the same flow level you used to influence Bob. Find Bob in the newly unlocked area and open the shop once again by reaching Flow-level 2 after a few tutorials. This shop is story related, so you need to find 4 more shops (see further in this guide). Anyway, another achievement is unlocked.

Bob asks you to remove Ministry banners and replace them with some promo for his shop. You simply need to wallride those banners (skate towards it and when you're near, press A). This will be your assignment for 2 different areas. After this, you should have converted 20 of the Ministry banners and another achievement is yours. After this, you'll need to convert 4 Ministry flags and destroy the Ministry speakers. Once you start with this task, you'll see a shapeable rail in front of you. Just keep following those to convert everything. IF (and only if), you don't fall to the ground, you can unlock another achievement. This one can be kinda tricky, but why not go for it when it's possible? Just keep off the ground and when you do hit the ground, just start again from the beginning (you can set a marker at the start to make things easier). The achievement requires you to grind 150 metres (or 300 feet) without touching the ground. Watch part 4 of my video guide to see how this is done (at the bottom of this page)!
Grind 150 meters without touching the ground in story mode
The story still goes on and the next thing you need to do is to reveal an old skatepark Bob used to skate in (and a lot of other things too, listen to his explanation). Follow the instructions on your screen to set it free and unlock another achievement. While revealing the skatepark, you'll unlock the ability to reach Flow-level 3 (1500 Flow-points). This is the highest possible Flow-level you can achieve while going through the game.

Once in the park (and converting the whole park), Jonah tells you to find Francisco. This is the point where you get to know another 'enemy': the De-Influencer. This device makes it impossible to increase your Flow-level or its points, so when you see one, destroy these things first! You need to destroy the three around Francisco and afterwards destroy 6 more. Once in the skatepark, another achievement will pop. You'll get another lesson in Shaping (you now gain control to shape your rails to wherever you want) and your next assignment (which unlocks another achievement) will be revealed.

Francisco tells you where Shaun White is, but it'll be an ambush. Anyway, get up the big building using the shaping rails and find a doll of Shaun White. Escape from the Ministry workers and get back to the skatepark. If you have difficulties, you can check out YouTube for guides. It's not that difficult, but there are a few passages that can be tricky.

In the meanwhile, scientist are expirimenting with Shaun and trying to figure out how Flow works towards his surroundings. Just follow the on-screen assignments to get those done.
Let's go back to your character. Bob brings you to the Rising Island, where some people are that don't agree with the way of reigning of the Ministry. The first things you'll need to do is some tasks to impress the locals. The assignments are quite easy.
The first one is to knock down some barriers with a certain amount of points. You'll get in a kind of halfpipe (it's actually a ship). Be sure to collect some more points, because if you have a barrier of 300 points, those points will be subtracted from your Flow-points. All the barriers here need 500 points, so just keep on going until you have destroyed them all.
The second task is removing Ministry cameras. Simply use Shaping Rails and the path is quite obvious. There's a time limit, but you shouldn't worry about that since you will have plenty of time left.
Another mission while trying to prove yourself to the Rising is trying to avoid lasers. Simply jump over them (or duck underneath them) to avoid them. Hitting those means you'll bail and lose your current Flow-points.
Another 'enemy' is the Advanced De-Influencer. Those don't stop your Flow-bar from increasing, instead they drain it completely. Smash all of them to be safe and continue for your last mission.
The last one is the most difficult one. Here you have to remove Ministry zeppelins. There are a few easy ways to destroy those, but the first thing you need to do is to build some Flow without the zeppelins spotting you, otherwise you can be converted to a so called "Ministry-worker" pretty fast. Anyways, to destroy them, you can use verts (simply get some air) or Shaping Rails (move the rail up as soon as you get on it). When you make contact, the zeppelins will be destroyed.
After this, you'll get an achievement and more assignments will unlock. Just keep proving yourself and complete every single one. Afterwards, another achievement will be rewarded.

You'll have to infiltrate the Ministry headquarter with a girl named Lilly. You'll have to re-activate the Monorail, so it can take you to some stations all across the map. You'll get a short tutorial to hack into the system, which can be an annoying mini game. After you've finished this, you should be able to travel to 'New Harmony'. There, you'll have to destroy some De-Influencers, Zeppelins and cameras. The game awards you another achievement after you have destroyed the 6 Zeppelins.

You are near the end of the story right now. Once Lilly infiltrated the Department of Truth, you'll learn that the Ministry is planning to send out a lot of propaganda all across the cities to influence all civilians and the landscape. You'll have to influence 4 statues with Flow-level 3. Follow the arrows on your screen and remember you need to combo in order to reach more Flow-points.

Back on Rising Island, Francesco thinks he's the man and he tries to influence the statue himself. Things go wrong and low-level propaganda are being released on everyone but you. The Ministry noticed this and they will send over a team to investigate the area. It's your job to influence everyone so they can hide. After this, you get a new achievement and the last tutorial from Jonah with the Saviour Rails. With this new ability, you'll need to get of Rising Island without taking the Monorail, only using your new ability.

After a few quests, Bob drops you off where Shaun is being held. Prepare for a long and rather difficult ride. After a long parkour, you'll release Shaun, and with his help, you have to influence Ministry buildings. Do this by reaching Flow-level 3 and after converting those buildings, the story is finished.

2 - Mop Up
Note: All achievement explanations are below the achievement itself. I figured it would be best to mention it so I don't confuse readers.
This achievement requires you to convert 100 civilians. This will come while you play through the story, so no other explanation needed.
Reach a trick height of 9 meters in the story mode
You have to trick from 9 meters high onto the ground. This isn't that difficult since you can reach high places with Shaping Rails, Street or even Saviour Shaping. A good location is found on the second part of my video guide.
Perform 100 perfect landings
Landing 100 'perfect' tricks will come during the story as well. Just notice that you'll have some kind of green arrow around the trick you just did to make sure you landed it perfectly.
Influence and reveal 5 gum company's billboards
There are 5 billboards you need to convert. Don't worry, you don't need to search for them. As long as you keep tricking the grey parts of town and make it colourful, you'll unlock this quite fast and it won't be 'ridiculously long lasting'. This is part of the 'Secret Packrat'-achievement (more information below).
Manual for 75 meters in the story mode
There's a manual challenge on the Rising Island named 'Manual Extravaganza' which requires you to manual 90 meters to get a gold medal. This is the easiest way to obtain this! Make sure the balance meter is turned on (see the Settings-menu) and keep it in the green area to make things easier.
Perform 3 body rotations in a single trick
While skating with Shaun White in the lab, you'll get an assignment to build 1000 Flow-points. Go into the halfpipes and build your speed until you can do a 1080 rotation. This will unlock the achievement.
Link a shaping with a rail, or another shaping. Do this 30 times.
This achievement is easy. You need to connect 20 Shaping objects with another rail or object. You'll unlock this in the first half of the game since you almost always connect every Shaping Rail with another ledge or rail.
Collect 50 clothing items in the story mode
This unlocks doing career quests or doing unlocked challenges. It's almost story related, just keep doing your tasks and you will get it.
Influence and reveal all the restaurants
This is the same as the 'Ridiculously Long Lasting'-achievement. Keep skating around and influence everything you can. This will unlock in no time. This achievement requires you to unlock 5 restaurants and is part of the 'Secret Packrat'-achievement (more information below).
Transform 1000 world objects and citizens
When you have unlocked the 'Skate Guru'-achievement, you are sure you influenced 100 civilians. This achievement however, requires you to influence the surroundings as well. This won't take long as you influence every possible building/veneu.
Reach 7500 flow in the story mode
For most, this is the hardest achievement in the game, but it's really not that hard. You have to reach 7500 Flow-points to unlock this and there are quite a few easy ways to build a lot of points.
1: Don't do front- or backflips. They make your landing harder then it should be.
2: Try to combo with different tricks. If you keep doing Kickflip to Manual, you won't reach a higher multiplier then x2. Therefore, you should try to find a line between grinds, manuals and fliptricks. The more tricks you buy in Bob's shop, the more tricks you get to do while doing this.
3: Find 2 halfpipes that are near each other. This can help you build speed and make combo fliptricks with grabs. Try to rotate A LOT to build a higher multiplier.
4: Last but not least, DON'T BAIL and DON'T USE MARKERS! If you do, you'll have to start all over again and I'm pretty sure this is frustrating enough as it is. You can use these tips to reach 8000 Flow-points online to unlock another achievement.
Obtain the best time in 3 time attack challenges
Earn the gold medal in all Shaun White challenges
I've put these three together since they are quite the same. After you get your first tutorial for Shaping Rails from Jonah, you will unlock some challenges. You don't have to get all of those done to get an achievement, but you do need to do at least 3 time trials. These are the challenges that require you to pass portals in a little amount of time. I strongly recommend the challenges 'The Marina High Circuit' and 'Downtown Yamakazi'. The third one you need to do is a Shaun White challenge, which brings us to another achievement. There are 4 Shaun White challenges, located in each of the four locations of the map. You need Flow-level 3 to convert a statue looking like a big block. After converting it, it turns into a 'metal'-hand holding a skateboard. Get a gold medal for each of them to unlock an achievement. If you got gold on the four challenges, you'll unlock another area as well, but don't worry about that since you don't really need it.
With 4 Shaun White challenges and 2 time trials out of the way, you need to finish up 29 more. It doesn't matter what medal you get in those, but I recommend getting Gold so you can buy tricks earlier in the game.

Unlock all the tricks and complete your trick book
While doing the 35 challenges and going through the story, you'll gain EXP-points. These can be used to buy new tricks in Bob's skateshop. Buy every single trick you can to unlock this long lasting achievement.
Unlock all the skate shops
There are 5 skateshops on the map, each one of them is located in each part of the map. In the beginning of the game, when you start converting citizens in the Ministry Quarter, there's a skateshop near an alley. This cannot be unlocked before you have influenced the 'story related' skateshop. See the video guide at the bottom of this page for all locations as it is a part of the 'Secret Packrat'-achievement.
Find all the secret chests
This achievement is frustrating. I spent many hours searching all chests which then turned out in starting a new game. Use my video guides at the bottom of this page to find every single one of them. This assignment is also a part of 'Secret Packrat'.
Discover all the secret challenges
This achievement is the most time consuming one. You'll have to do several tasks and you won't be able to unlock it until the end of your story. Check the videos below to help you out and save you some time.
Things you need to do:
1: Collect the orange glowing arrows that are spread all over the map
2: Destroy cylinder/concrete blocks
3: Remove skateblockers
4: Collect every treasure chest
5: Reveal all restaurants
6: Influence all billboards
7: Reveal all skateshops
