Hunted: The Demon's Forge Walkthrough

3. Story walkthrough

First off, I'd like to begin by giving credit to LeadExample on Youtube for some videos that I've added below, as the majority of them are from this user. I've also used a video from pinrose331 on Youtube and VampyreBlade on Youtube as well.

So, there are actually 2 ways you can do this. The easiest way I found out is doing 2 playthroughs, with each character once, but it's actually up to you if you want to do it in a different way. I will concenctrate on the story playthrough's first and later I will explain the miscellaneous achievements and how they can be earned. However, I can tell that some of them will unlock during your adventure without doing anything.

There are some secret areas in the game where you can find unique weapons, tougher enemies, and side quests. I won't go into detail on those unless they contain collectibles and therefore they will be listed on the collectibles page. The riddles aren't too hard to solve, but since there is no achievement for those, they are not crucial for a full 1000 in this game.

You can choose whichever difficulty you like, so I recommend playing on easy if you want to complete it quickly. You can of course go for the collectibles on your first playthrough as well, but the latest you should do it is on your second playthrough. I also won't go into detail on the routes to take since the game itself is pretty linear and you cant miss the correct track (even if you wander off to get some hidden treasure).

Special credit goes to Leadexample for the great videos they provided.

I also recommend that if you have a friend with the game that you should do it in coop since its not only more fun, but it also goes a lot faster. So, lets start with the first playthrough (which character you choose is totally up to you, I however, started with Elara).

1.STORY PLAYTHROUGH (ELARA)

Before you actually start there is one thing you should keep in mind: Beginning with chapter 2, there are some parts in the game where some alcoves are standing with some sleg inside. Do not drink it! It will void you of an achievement if you do so. Try to complete the first playthrough without sleg, the second playthrough can be done with as much sleg as you want.

So, lets start our adventure with a tutorial. This level is pretty straight forward and the only enemies you will face here are skeletons. They vary from melee forms, to archer forms, and are pretty easy to kill. The only special thing here is that you will get a hint of a hidden treasure, a magic axe that was left behind at the body of a warrior. This riddle is rather straight forward and easy. Simply light the torch with Elara and you can cross over to the island. As soon as you get to the video sequence with Selena (the daughter of the town's chief from Dyfed) and the loading screen for the next chapter, your first achievement will unlock.

Now we enter the very first chapter, the city of Dyfed. Mainly you have to do the following things in this level: Kill a certain amount of Wargar to proceed, destroy a building blocking your way, free some prisoners, disable the Balista, defend the tavern, destroy the Siege Tower with the Ballista, find a way into the dungeons, solve the riddle of the Ancient One (optional to complete "Secrets under Syfed"), reach the stronghold of Dyfed, get through the cornfield and defeat the infected boss. There are some hidden areas in this level which will be covered in the collectibles section since they often contain some of those and also some coins and rare items. There is however, one achievement that can be earned by performing a special deed and I will go into detail on that one here. When you go through the very first coop gate (chapter checkpoint 1.1) in the chapter (there is a Dragon Tear to the right after going through) you will have to fight 3 Wargar that appear. After killing them, you will see to your left, a small wall where you can see 2 Wargar running away. Kill 1 of them (well, I killed both for good measure) and the following achievement will be yours. Here's the first video from leadexample--to make it somewhat easier to track.

Kill a fleeing Wargar in the town of Dyfed

As you are nearing the end of the act, you will have to face an infected Wargar which is teleporting around, hurling fireballs and powering up the enemies around you. Try to concentrate on him with Elara, use the armor piercing shot if you can get clear shots since those do quite a lot of damage to him. The thing is if you kill him off, the rest of the enemies will also die, but there will be a lot of enemies and even though Caddoc will keep them occupied for some time, not all of them will concenctrate on him. As soon as he drops, you will investigate him and get a glimpse of his past. As soon as you get a new loading screen, you will enter the next act and therefore, netting you the achievement for completing Act 1 and the achievement for killing the boss with Elara.

Now onwards to Chapter 2 which are the Dungeons of Dyfed. You will have to do the following things in this level: Search the dungeons for the citizens and the daughter of the mayor, rescue them from the Queen of Darkness, handle the cable car and find a route for Caddoc, follow the trail of prisoners down in the dungeon, carefully make your way over the bridges, get inside the Husk and defeat the spider. You will come to a part (chapter checkpoint 2.3) where you and Caddoc are in front of an elevator platform and are boarding it (as Elara). To get the next achievement, you have to kill 20 enemies before you reach the ground. This might be a little tricky even though there are some explosive barrels, but if you have the right gear it should be pretty easy (it took me around 3 tries). Use the explosive arrow at the highest level possible and simply shoot away if you see larger crowds (2-4 at once). It might take some practice, but as soon as you're done, the achievement will unlock. If not, just reload the last checkpoint and try again. Again, another leadexample video to make things easier.

Kill 20 Wargar before the crane platform gets to the bottom in the Dungeons of Dyfed

There is a specific tactic that you have to use for the giant spider boss. The first segment includes simply running away as fast as you can. If you reach a wall, dont worry, it will crumble to pieces at a set time, so simply continue running until you reach the 2 Balistas. Now you have to shoot the spider long enough until you see a video sequence where they show you a large stalactite above the spiders head. Shoot it and impale the spider with it, and then watch another sequence with your next set of achievements.

Now we will start Chapter 3, which are the woodlands.

For the boss fight, this one might be a little tough with Elara. At the end of the act you will reach the docks and have to fight a witch-like enemy. Her attacks are rather fast and damage you a lot, but the real problem is that you can't really get a decent shot at her since she teleports around a lot. In addition, she places 3 totems which are constantly shooting at you. As soon as she places the totems, shoot them down (Two will disappear, one will slump down) and shoot her as long as you can. Now she will grab the slumped one and teleport away. Try to hit her, but be wary, especially if you have a slow bow. The armor piercing shot does the most damage, but I recommend disrupting her with the explosive arrow. She is rather tough, but with some patience she'll die quickly. Now after beating her, you get some achievements at the loading screen.

We are now at Chapter 4, the sieged city of Llyr. There are 2 achievements to be had here and for one I strongly recommend either playing as Caddoc or have a second player with you. You will come to a part (chapter checkpoint 4.3) where there are Wargar fighting with a minotaur (you dropped down from a building shortly before that). Dispose of the Wargar and concentrate on the minotaur, but do not kill him! Simply catch his attention and trick the minotaur to crash into the support beams of the platforms. Check the environment for any destructibles and do the same. If done correctly, the following achievement is yours. I strongly recommend doing this in coop since the AI will kill or distract him by itself. Again a leadexample video to help out.

The second one to be had is a little bit further on in the level, when you try to reach the roof of the Scarlet Maid tavern. You will come to a part where you enter a large aqueduct. There will be a cutscene where some bolders will smash parts of the aqueduct and it will start to crumble under your feet. Simply keep running straight forward and as soon as you reach the end, the achievement unlocks. This will not unlock if you get hit by anything, but that wont happen if you just keep running.

Escape the Collapsing Aqueduct without taking any damage

Now we will encounter the demon from the tutorial again, but this time we have to kill him. Basically, this guy isnt tough at all but he takes some punishment and his attacks are ridiculously strong. Luckily, he isnt the fastest so use that to your advantage. He only has a group of set attacks; he can attack you in melee which is his weakest attack, throw a fireball which is his fastest and a rather strong attack which is his field of damage, but it is slow and really lethal. As soon as his "corpse shield" is up, he is invincible as long as it remains. Shoot down the 4 floating corpses and he will be vulnerable again. Dodge and evade his melee and field damage (marked as red lines) and try to dodge the fireballs as well. Ignore his minions as much as possible and he should die in no time, taking his minions with him. At the next loading screen you'll get another set of achievements.

Now we emerge into Chapter 5, the road to Kala Mor. You can earn 2 miscellaenous achievements here which are rather easy to get with the right preparation. The first is for killing 15 enemies with the Flechette gun. Pretty early in the level you will come to a part where you can descend some stairs and there is a stationary gun at the end. It should be a rapid fire arrow balista and there should be a few enemies that spawn, straight ahead, in your line of fire. Kill enough and the achievement will unlock. There are actually 2 spots in the level to get this and the kills are cumulative, but I strongly recommend to do it at that spot.

Now, during Chapter 5.2, you will enter through a coop gate and go down some stairs leading to a large open area with some eyes floating and a few Wargar. Take one of the eyes out with one shot, either a magic arrow (I used the shield breaker on the highest level) or some leveled up battle magic, before any of the Wargar tracks you or returns fire. If done correctly, the achievement will unlock. If not, just restart the checkpoint. I've inserted a leadexample video to help out on that.

Kill an Eye of Annuvin before it can summon reinforcements on the Road to Kala Moor

Now play through the level normally and you will face an enormous dragon at the end. Even though the achievement states he is blind, thats not true because he really can hit you without any problems. Run down the staircase and man the left turret. Concentrate your fire on the dragon and ignore the skeletons. After a few hits he will fly off, attempt to hit you with some fire and switch sides. Now use the opposite turret, do the same as before and after a few hits he will again, fly off and sit down in the center. Try to hit him as often as possible since each hit takes some life away and if done correctly he should die with 3 more hits once in the middle. Now watch the cutscene and during the loading screen, 2 new achievements will unlock.

Finally we reach the last chapter, Kala Mor. In this level you can get another achievement, but not one for finishing the level. You will come to a section (chapter checkpoint 6.2) where there is a cutscene with a guy telling you some things. Then you will come to a sort of a cliff where there are some Wargar and dragons spitting some fire at you. Make a run to the very first tower and wait until a dragon destroys the tower you were standing in front off, the achievement will unlock right away. Leadexample paints this picture accurately with this video.

Trick a blind dragon into shooting down the weak tower in the depths of Kala Moor

Now we only have Annuvin left to be taken care off. He might seem like a really tough bastard, but in fact he is the easiest enemy of them all. Concentrate your fire on the glowing spot on his solar plexus (upper middle of the chest) since this is the place where he's vulnerable. He will then load energy from some pillars to replenish himself. Now shoot him during that process and the pillar will crumble. Rinse and repeat until he´s dead, it's as simple as that. Careful of the skeletons that he summons, hopefully Caddoc should take care of the most of them, if not, kill a few yourself and you should be fine. After some more cutscenes you will unlock the following achievements:

For those that prefer a video guide, here is one by pinrose331. It's actually PS3 footage because the Xbox ones I found are quite bad in comparison.

Now that you did your first story playthrough, we will start right away with the second one as Caddoc.

2. STORY PLAYTHROUGH (CADDOC)

Since you now have the level specifics and collectibles out of the way, you can rush through the story. I won't go into detail since it's 100% the same story as your first playthrough, except that you drink the sleg at least once this time. So, if done correctly you should unlock the following, including all bosses killed as Caddoc and for drinking the sleg:

Unlock 50% of Crucible content

For those achievements, you'll have to collect a certain amount of money. Money is dropped by enemies or in Crucible mode under Special Conditions (when the map gives you money for example). You will get the first two playing through the normal campaign, but the rest will need some dedicated grinding. You will need 190.000 gold pieces (190k) for the Dungeon Master achievement. The easiest way I found was in Crucible mode. Search in the mode under the user submited pages for a guy called Ghostdog 360 and play his map titled "30000 Gold". I did it as Elara since she has the exploding arrows, but it really doesnt matter which character you pick. When you finish the map you'll get the gold and it wont take too long to get the 190k.

Equip a Rare, or better, quality weapon in both inventory slots

The first one can be gotten in Act 1.1 quite easily. As soon as you get to the part where you have to cross the beam (Elara mentions her fear of heights) run ahead and you will see some purple cages behind a derelict wall (special weapons containers). Destroy the rope thats holding the sign above the door and smash the door. Once inside, smash the crates and pick up any purple weapon. If there aren't any, reload the checkpoint and do it again. For the second achievement, you'll need to unlock the capability to carry 2 weapons. To get that you have to discover 6 different secret areas. Just look carefully, I got mine on the way through Act 3. As soon as you have it, keep one purple weapon in the second slot but use the first slot as often as possible. Now, when you stumble upon a purple weapon, exchange your weapon without the magic capabilty and as soon as you've picked it up, drop it and pick your previous weapon up. This way you get the achievement and you get to keep your standard equipment.

Kill at least 3 enemies with one explosion

As the achievement states, kill 3 enemies with one explosive barrel. The best spot for that one is in Act 2, when you have to enter the platform that moves down. Aim at the barrel on the main level, then when there are 3 enemies nearby, blow it up. This video by VampyreBlade should make things a bit clearer.

Adventure Mode - Cooperatively kill 50 levitating enemies

You can do this 2 ways, either with the AI or with a coop partner. If you do it with the AI, concentrate solely on leveling up Caddoc's levitation skill to increase the number of usages and pick them off as Elara. I got it that way, however I think it's a lot easier with a coop partner than with the AI, although it also counted for me if other sources killed them (Caddoc, fire, etc.). You can also create a Crucible map for this one, it doesnt only count in adventure mode as they are culumative, so no need to do them in a row (although you need a save point afterwards).

The only difference to the one above is that either player (Caddoc with an ice weapon or Elara with her ice arrow) can freeze and kill the enemies. The same rules as the ones mentioned above apply here.

This can be done in 2 ways, but I recommend doing it in coop since the AI player seldom (almost never) drops, so you have to revive him. If you do it with a friend however, you can grind the boss battles out until both players get it. I recommend the 1.6, 2.6, 4.6 or 5.6 boss battles since they can deal some real damage and not are too tough. It only counts if you use the vial on your partner, not the other way around, so keep that in mind.

Again, I recommend doing this in coop since your AI partner not only distracts enemies, but he also blocks your line of sight for clear hits with Elara. I recommend doing it with Elara's armor piercing shot, even though you can do it as well with Caddoc's rush attack. Wait for the enemies to lower their shields (you can force them by shooting them once) and shoot the shields to break them. Rinse and repeat on the enemies throughout the game. You can also get it in Crucible mode, so create one with the tougher, shielded Wargar, so that you dont accidentaly kill them with one shot. This way you can also do it with the AI, but it might take a bit longer.

These two belong to each other since you only have to do slightly different things. For the first one, you have to battle charge your partner (holding RB with a spell, NO weapon skill, equipped and ready) 50 times. Simply do this whenever you have the mana and you will get it over time. This also works in Crucible mode and coop as well. Now the next one is a little bit trickier. Both players have to do the battle charge simultaneously. I recommend doing them both in coop on a 25 room map in Crucible mode since the mana replenishes each time you make a room, but you can do it with the AI as well, which will take considerably more time. You can also use a 2nd controller, but the risk of dying and having to start over again is much higher that way.

Congratulations, you now have the full 1000!
