South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play! Walkthrough

4. Challenges, Medals & MANBEARPIG!

Challenges

Now that the campaign is done, it's time to move on to the Challenges. You can pick whichever team you like, but I would suggest sticking to the 4 I mentioned earlier: Craig, Kyle, Pip, and Jimmy. The challenges are good fun to beat yourself, but just like the Campaign section, I will give you pointers if you are having problems. There's one achievement we are going for and it's unlocked after you have a Bronze medal on all of the 5 challenges. As promised, I will give you an easy way of unlocking the achievement for grabbing 100 coins in less than 10 seconds if you still haven't unlocked it by now.

Challenge 1 - Labyrinth
Pretty easy and straightforward. The maze has already been built for you; you just have to fill up the few empty spots with towers. Just as with the campaign, Firey-Works is your best bet, and it wouldn't hurt to place some Refriginators along with them as well.

Challenge 2 - Shmup
You will find out right of the bat that you are unable to build towers. Your best bet is to just follow the enemies around the level and unleash your special abilities on them. Keep 2 kids at the top and 2 at the bottom, but you still might have to run from one spot to the other to help.

Challenge 3 - Braaaains
As the name suggests it's only zombies, and their weakness are the Pee-Tron towers. Lucky for you, a few have already been built along with a bunch of snow in front of them for the zombies to chew away. Make wise use of your special abilities and make sure to keep the Pee-Trons alive by refilling the snow walls if the zombies destroy them.

The easy method to unlock the following achievement is in this exact challenge. Move over to the Pee-Trons and press "B" to sell them, collect the coins as fast as you can and it should easily unlock.

Challenge 4 - Four Square
You only have 4 spaces to build your towers on. Now this may look very challenging, but it actually isn't. Make good use of the scrapbook or the Bestiary to take a good look at the weaknesses of the upcoming waves and build those towers, simply sell them to get ready for the upcoming wave.

Sticky Bomb Towers Unlocked !

Challenge 5 - 20 Across
One huge area to unleash your creativity. By now you should have mastered the game and instinctively build mazes. You won't have enough money or time to fill the entire area with it, so keep it small and once again, the Firey-Works is boss.

Plasma Ball Tower Unlocked !

That's it, you're done with the challenges, thus unlocking the following achievement,

Medals

Note: If you think you can handle the MANBEARPIG! achievement without letting any enemies damage the town then skip this section and go to the MANBEARPIG! section. You can earn the 2 medal achievements along with the MANBEARPIG!. I don't think I earned a platinum medal on it, so don't be so sure you can do it.

Next up are the 2 medal related achievements, one for a Myrrh medal and the other for scoring the highest ranking, Platinum. I'm going to have to give credit to Queegum for his idea to use a challenge level, very smart.

Load up the first challenge, Labyrinth, on insane. If you've been following this walkthrough then you should have unlocked the Plasma Ball Tower by completing all of the challenges. I would advise you to use 3 of my favorite 4 characters, Craig, Pip, and Jimmy, and we are going to replace Kyle with Kenny. We don't really need a fast character and Kenny’s special ability is a huge help, you'll need those extra coins. Some people would advise to replace Craig with a character that also has a Wave-Killing ability, but personally I thought Craig’s slowing down is a huge help. After the challenge starts, immediately build 3 Plasma Towers on the first 3 patches and fill the remaining open spaces with snow, otherwise the enemies will just walk out. Move the entire crew to the first tower in order to fill those special ability bars. The first few waves are easy, but it starts to get busy in no time. The best strategy in the beginning is to get a lot of enemies on the screen and power-up those specials. When you're ready, trigger Craig’s ability so the enemies will slow down and stick around the first part of the maze. Now change into Kenny and trigger his special, then immediately change into either Pip or Jimmy and trigger another special. Make sure you move as fast as possible over the pathways, taking them all out at once, leaving you a lot of coins, and spend it on upgrading your towers. I can't really help you anymore beyond this point. Use the wave-killing specials wisely and remember that they can take out more than 1 wave, so waiting a little while before triggering them is often a good idea. Chances are, very likely, that you'll succeed the first try, but if not then try again and try replacing Timmy for Craig, maybe that will suit you better. If you keep the enemies from damaging the town then you should earn a Platinum medal along with these 2 achievements.

MANBEARPIG!

Time to tackle the last achievement of the game, which is actually a lot easier than it seems. You'll have to beat the Mountain Pass level, so that includes 3 stages and the boss, Manbearpig. You have to do this by only using snowballs. You can, however, build walls and you are free to use specials, which are definitely needed here. As far as the characters go, I went with Craig, Pip, Jimmy, and Butters. 3 characters who can take down entire waves and 1 for slowing them down. The first 2 stages have boulder paths and you need to make good use of those. Make sure you place the characters you are not controlling on spots where they constantly throw snowballs in order to charge their special attacks.

You really want to be going for this achievement in a local game, it would help if you have a friend who can assist you, but it's very doable alone, I did it by myself as well. The reason is that if you mess up, by either simply losing the stage or by messing up because you accidently build a tower ( and trust me, that will happen haha ), the game will let you restart that stage and not the entire level. If you try this online however and mess up the 3rd stage for example, you will have to start from scratch, beginning at stage 1.

I will now include 3 pictures to show you how to build the mazes in order to succeed. Major props to Deez Apples for making these, I used them and they totally worked for me. I will also include videos that I found on YouTube if you prefer video over images.

Stage 1

The green lines represent the walls you have to build and the red lines are the path the enemies will take. Notice how this structure leads the mobs into the path of the boulder.

Stage 2

A big boulder path which is a massive help. Also, don't mess up the middle section, really really build it the way as shown, otherwise you'll not make it.

Stage 3

After completing the regular enemies, Manbearpig will show up. He's actually very easy to take down. He's super slow and you can use a nice little trick. When he's close to the right side of your maze and about to go through the gap, open up a gap in the same way on the left side and close the one on the right with a snow wall. This will make him turn around, and you can rinse and repeat this as much as you’d like and he will never be able to get away. After he has passed you 2 or 3 times, he will go down and you'll have the achievement !
