Walkthrough
Before we begin, please remember that this is a walkthrough on how to efficiently boost the game's achievements. I've only outlined it from 1 person's perspective so bear that in mind. If you're part of a boosting group than just repeat the methods explained below until everyone has the achievements. To prevent confusion from here on the player working on the achievements will be referred to as "Player 1" and the player not getting the achievements as "Player 2".
From the main menu select to play an online game and then have the person getting the achievements first host the game. Set up an "Elimination" game on the map; "Spring Break". When you've done this proceed to create the lobby, let everyone know so that they can search for your lobby and join it. Once all the players are in the lobby, start the game up.
When the game starts, pick the top left character (The Surfer) and wait for everyone else to join (it doesn't matter who they're playing as). In this game we'll be trying to get as many of the achievements out of the way. Player 2 should not kill Player 1 at all, as it will mess up one of the achievements.
For the first set of achievements, press Y to bring up the game information screen and find out which weapons are ranked 5 stars in this round (press Y again to get rid of this screen). Run around the map and find a 5 star weapon, they change each round so if you can't find one in any particular round then you always have the option of waiting for the round to finish up and seeing what weapons are rated 5 stars next round. Once you've found a 5 star weapon meet up somewhere on the map. There are a few places, but I'd recommend heading down to the beach front area. To the left of here is a spiraling hill that no guards ever patrol.
Once you've met up, have Player 1 run up to Player 2 and taunt them (hold X until the on screen star fills and your character performs a taunt). After this, kill them with your 5 star weapon and once he's dead, run up to his corpse and humiliate them (this is the same as how you taunt). After you've done that you'll have unlocked the first 2 achievements of the game.
Commit your first Quarry Kill
Commit a perfect murder (boast, 5 star kill, humiliate)
Continue playing this game mode, having Player 2 run to you, allowing you to kill them to rack up stars for the last achievements. It's a slow process this way and so if you wish you could just sit around and wait for the next rounds we need to come along, but make sure you don't idle out. Remember not to let Player 2 kill you either or you'll mess up one of the achievements we'll be unlocking at the end of this game.
Now the next achievements are tied to round types, unfortunately we have absolutely no control over what round type comes up or when it comes up, so you might end up getting the next couple of achievements out of order but obviously that's fine, so long as you get them.
There's a round type in which you're assigned a player to hunt and kill. As we're playing a 2 player game, you'll just be assigned each other. Meet up at whichever spot you've already been using and in this round kill Player 2 as many times as possible. Some people think this achievement is a little buggy, but it's not. Let me explain why sometimes it doesn't unlock, even if you've killed Player 2 loads of times.
The achievement requires you to kill your "Hunter" 3 times in a single round. The first time you kill them you'll be killing your target and so it won't count as you killing your Hunter but instead, you killing your target. The next time you kill them you'll almost always be rewarded a Hunter kill, it should say this on screen. From then on watch the on screen rewards, you need to be awarded for killing a Hunter 3 times, Quarry kills do not count toward the achievement.
This is also the most frequent scene type to show up.
During a Hunt or Elimination scene, kill your Hunter 3 times in a single round
The next mode we need is "Infected!". In this scene one player is infected while the other is not. You pass this infection on by coming into contact with the other player. With any luck Player 1 will start as the infected player. If not, meet up and have Player 2 infect them to pass it to them and "cure" themselves. Stand near each other (but not too close, a couple of feet should be about right) and keep an eye on the timer. The moment it hits 5 seconds on the timer have Player 1 run up and infect Player 2. It should be exactly the right amount of time to infect the other and "cure" yourself of the infection. As the round ends you'll unlock the following achievement;
This scene type only appears once per game.
During an Infected scene, pass on your infection in the final 5 seconds and end the round clean
Next up we need the round type "Hunt The Leader" to appear, if you followed my instructions then Player 1 has been killing Player 2 throughout the game and Player 2 shouldn't have a single kill. This will mean that Player 1 is the leader and the pair of you can just sit idle or have Player 1 continue racking up stars. When the round ends you'll unlock the following achievement.
This scene type only appears once per game.
During a Hunt the Leader scene, survive the whole round as the Leader without being killed
When the "Scene Stealer" round comes up, have Player 1 run as fast as possible to the gold trophy icon on the minimap. You need to get there with over a minute on the round timer. Once you've picked up the trophy, just hold onto it for the remainder of the round. Provided you had over 60 seconds left when you picked it up you'll unlock the achievement for this scene type.
This scene type only appears once per game.
During a Scene Stealer scene, hold onto the statue for 60 seconds without being killed
By now you should have finished up this game, provided you followed the instructions of Player 2 not killing Player 1, you'll unlock this achievement.
Win a ranked match without being killed
Set up another game. Set it up exactly the same, but this time have Player 1 choose to play as "The Goth". Have Player 1 run and find a 5 star weapon (any will do, I prefer melee though as you don't need to worry about ammo) and then meet up at the big rock in the middle of the beach.
It's a good idea to use the sunbeds here to make sure you're well rested before you start this. Make sure there's a bit of distance between both players and the patrolling guard, but that you're in his line of sight. When you're ready, pull out your weapon and kill Player 2. This will give you a 5 star wanted level. Now have Player 1 continually run round this rock, avoiding the guard but don't let them "lose you" just yet.
You now need Player 2 to keep running down to this rock and have Player 1 keep killing them in sight of the chasing guard. Each time you do this you'll increase your wanted level by 1 star. Repeat this process until you have a 10 star wanted level. The moment you hit the 10 star wanted level, run up the stairs to the pool. Move around the pool and up the ladder here. Immediately climb the ladder on your right and run along the platform here. Doing this you should lose the guard in the process and unlock the achievement.
Alternatively you can try and lose them by distancing yourself from them around the rock, but this can be tricky so I opted to use the above method when going for the achievement.
Note: Your wanted level carries across through round types so you don't need to worry about getting this in 1 round.
Escape from Security with a 10 Star fine
Next up have Player 1 set up another game, make it a "Hunt" match, but this time on "Horror House". Player 1 should select to play as "The Showgirl", as soon as the game starts have Player 1 kill Player 2 once. Player 1 can then pause the game and quit. The game counts progression for the host when he quits.
Set up another game of "Hunt". This time select the map "Vegas" and the character "The Gambler". Have Player 1 kill Player 2 once and quit again, this should trigger the next achievement.
Win a Ranked match on every level
Repeat the above process and work your way through the rest of the characters, the map doesn't really matter anymore. We're getting this out of the way now so that you can take a break if you want and leave the stars boosting to another session (because of the glitch I covered on the previous page).
The characters are as follows (from the top left going down to the top right going down): The Surfer, The Goth, The Showgirl, The Gambler, The Beachbabe, The Bunnygirl, The Clown and The Stoner.
You should already have done the left row of characters if you followed the walkthrough instructions. Once you quit out of the game with the final character you'll unlock the next achievement.
Note: If you don't plan on taking a break, you can skip this process and just work your way through the remaining characters while using the method below to grind out stars.
Finish a match as each character
All that's left now is to grind out stars. The best method of doing this is as follows;
Set up a ranked game on the map "Horror House" and select to play the game type "Deathmatch". Have Player 1 run to the outside of the building and into the basement. In the basement there are 2 trap switches; 1 on the stairs and 1 next to a bath tub. We'll be using the latter. Roughly in the middle of the basement you'll see the trap switch. You need to jump and stand on top of the objects beneath it so that you're not actually touching the water yourself.
Throughout the course of this 20 minute game Player 2's task is to continually run into this room, as soon as he enters (or even a moment before) Player 1 can activate the trap to kill Player 2 and rack up 5 stars. Turn around and humiliate them for an extra star then return to the switch in preparation to repeat the process.
You should try and keep Player 2's stamina gauge full by resting when needed. I found it best to recover his stamina a little when the gauge was about two thirds full (the fuller the stamina gauge, the faster he runs). The best way to recover his stamina gauge is to allow them to enter the basement and rest on the sofa down here. The moment he says it's full you can flip the switch and kill them. This will prevent you from wasting time resting somewhere else and being forced to wait out the animation where he stands up and stretches after resting.
The more you use this method the more stars you should eventually net per game, this is because you'll slowly learn the fastest routes to the basement. On average you should be looking to net anywhere between 350-400 stars per game.
Continue to repeat the process until you've unlocked the following achievements and don't forget about the glitch where, if you turn off your console there's a chance your progress toward the games achievements will be reset (but not show that it's reset) and so it's best to work on these achievements in 1 session if possible. Using the above method it should take less than 2 hours per player to unlock the stars achievements.
