3. Hooded Wings Playthrough
When you start a game, you watch a few fairly cheesy cutscenes. Things go South quick. Fires show up and errybody be dying out here. When you get control of Scarlett, walk across the bridge using the left stick, moving left and right to avoid the fires as they damage you. Walk toward the end of the bridge until another cutscene happens.
When you regain control, the game will prompt you to press A to pick up an item. The poker nearby is the object the game wants you to pick up, you shouldn't need to move to pick it up. Press RB to pull it out (huhuhuhuh) and A to attack with it. Hit the nearby burning door with the poker to knock it down. Enter to find an assassin. Kill him for a short cutscene.
Now leave the house by going forward and you'll see three assassins, kill them all for another cutscene. A hilariously bad cutscene will occur. You'll then be in the twilight world talking to a dude. You will eventually be prompted to make a dialog choice. Since we want the good ending, say "I want to see Benedict again". You wake up, another cutscene with some horrible, horrible dialog.
Choose "leave". Exit the house and the game will tell you about beds. Beds are your main way of healing since we aren't using healing items, so make sure to take note of any beds you see.
Well, let's go ahead and get our first achievement. Walk down the hill until you see a platform on the right you can walk down. Follow it all the way down until a guy says "Hey, over here". Talk to him and you'll start a training mission. Lock onto him with LT, and then wait for him to attack. When he does, roll left or right with X and then press A to counterattack him. He says to do it 5 times but I only had to do it three times. Anyway, first achievement
Training in village successfully accomplished
Walk back up to the top and go East. If you press Y, you'll get a map, and you'll see an ! on the map, that is our objective (this is also the only time the map will have this marker...). On the way a villager will tell you to talk to him, do so. North of him is a woman that acts as a merchant. She can sell you stuff and you can sell stuff to her. You have nothing to sell at the moment so keep going East to the !.
Mattheo is in this building, talk to him. Ask him about clothes. He tells you to get his daughter's outfit. Go Southwest to his house and enter, open the chest closest to the door (other is locked) for the dress, then return to him and talk to him about clothes again. Cutscene. A villager will mention your brother.
First, press start and choose settings, then general. Change the difficulty to easy. There is no penalty for doing so, so why make this harder than it has to be? Exit the town by going East. Walk toward the person in front of you for a cutscene. After it, you get a choice. The assholes deserve death, but we want to be classy for the good ending, so let them live.
Now go outh and then West when the path splits. Follow this all the way down to find Leon fighting 1v3. This will be your first combat situation. These assassins are pretty straight forward. Lock onto one with LT and then keep pressing A. When/if they block your attack, roll or move away to avoid a counterattack. If you see them roll, move away or roll as well as they are about to counterattack. Once they are dead, cutscene. I chose "they could have killed you".
Now, when you kill somebody you can generally loot them. If their body stays on the ground, you can loot it. If they fall through the floor, they have nothing. You cannot loot something if you have your weapon out, so put it away and then press A when you are near a body. You can also press LB. LB is better in the long run because A only works when your weapon isn't out, so you have to press RB to put it back to take stuff with A. LB always works. Take what you want.
Now follow the path South and then West to a secluded building. You'll find two people arguing. Ask them what is going on, then offer to help them both. Agree to help and then enter the building. Once inside, go upstairs and then take a right to find a fireplace. Walk up to it and press A. 4 switches will appear. They are numbered 1 to 4, going left to right. Hit the 2nd, then 4, 3rd, 1st. A scroll will appear on the fireplace, press A to take it.
Now exit the house and talk to the guys. Choose Nesto when you get a choice, then wait for the cutscene to end. You get a peek at the piclocking game as they open the door. Once the cutscene ends, move forward and enter the door. Go to the back of this area and search the shrine to the left of the bed. After the cutscene, exit the house.
Choose whatever and you'll be asked to lock onto the guy and roll with X, then attack with A. Afterwards, pick "I'll stay alive and do good" during the dialog choice. After the cutscene you get Trained Roller.
Rolling training successfully accomplished
Return to town and in the clearing you got assassinated by the two villagers, there will now be four assassins. Use the same method we used on the three previously. When they start to surround you, run away and then attack the first one to walk up to you. Repeat this hit-and-run tactic until they are all dead.
Now go Northeast into a small alcove. You'll find a bunch of assassins. Lure them a few at a time and use the same tactics as before. In the Eastern part of this area is a special assassin, he is a bit more agile and rolls more often, but is otherwise the same as the others. Same method of killing. Check the treasure chest in the Northeast area before returning to town.
Talk to Mattheo. Talk to him about the pliers to finish a quest. Talk to him about the moonblade, then choose whatever in the dialog. If it is night, sleep at your house in the Northwest corner of the town and choose a time during the day. Now the merchant lady will be there. Talk to her, choose trade, then press RB twice. Sell all this stuff, you can't use it anyway. If you have more than 100 gold (you should), buy the Imperial Blade. Equip it, then sell any dervish blades you have and the poker.
Go to the Brawler guy in the Southern part of the town and talk to him. Choose learn skills. Pick the Beast Knowledge skill in the bottom right, then put the rest in Sword Mastery. Each point in Sword Mastery adds another attack to the end of the sword attack string you get when pressing A.
Now we have to head to the mines. Return to where you helped Leon and go Northeast instead of South. This path leads to the mines and a few assassins are in the way. Kill them all and enter the mines. A person will stop you and talk to you. Ask about the moonblade. He says to follow the pipe, so do it.
The main enemy here is Delvers. They are boar type enemies. What you want to do is lock onto them and get somewhat close to the front of them, then strafe right or left. They will attack in front of themselves and you'll be able to attack their side and kill them easily.
You'll reach a fork, and you can go either North or South. Go North and follow the path until you see a entrance on the right covered in purple vines. Follow this path to a door, open it, cutscene. The cutscene shows a statue with no head, and a head on the ground. Do the math. Pick up the stone head with A and then walk up to the statue and press A to activate it.
Touching cutscene. D'awwwww. Once you get the dialog choice, choose "I want to be with Benedict again". Conversation ensues, I'm not entirely sure they are actually talking to each other. The dialog in this game is all kinds of bad. You have a new power. Press the back button, and use the bumpers to select the 3rd from the right tab, which are mental skills. Highlight the one with a skull icon (called The Passage) and press X. Then choose what button you want to activate it.
Now use the power and look at the middle of the North wall. You'll see a circle. Walk up to it and press A to teleport. You'll see a glowing blue rock, walk up to it and press A. Now use the power again and use the portal again. Now leave the mines and go back to Mattheo. Tell him about the moonstone. Cutscene, talking, Moonblade Ready achievement.
Continue playing to unlock this secret achievement. (Secret)
Talk to the merchant and sell all your unneeded stuff. If you happen to have 500 gold and leather mail (unfitted) talk to Mattheo and he will customize the leather armor for you, netting you the achievement for it.
If not you should have enough very soon. Equip the armor and talk to Mattheo and ask him what he will do to recieve a quest. You can't finish it now, but it will provide you with a smith in Venice, so you won't need to run back here.
Either way, go South to the fork like you are going to the mines, but go East instead and then West. Talk to Don and Nesto, then go East to the cave. A guy will stop you and talk to you before you can enter. Press back and then go to the far left tab, which is weapons and armor. Use X to put both your sword and moonblade on shortcut. Switch to your moonblade, then enter the cave.
There are two lectors here. They can only be killed by the moonblade. They are fairly easy as they have no defensive moves, so you can spam moonblade swings till they die. Watch out for the second one as you attack the first, he will be coming from the right. You get a cutscene after they both die. Loot the body and then go the opposite way of Nesto and Don. Talk to the guy that stopped you previously and give him the necklace for some easy experience and a finished quest.
Reenter the cave and go talk to D&N. Cutscene of them opening the lock, enter the door and exit the cave. Progress forward and kill the dervish master ahead of you. Cutscene, continue forward. When you get near the tavern you will get a cutscene. Afterwards enter the inn. You'll be ambushed. Kill the four assassins downstairs and then take the stairs up. Kill the two assassins here and then the master. Loot all the bodies and go back down the stairs and open the door. Cutscene. Ask about Venice, then be polite about the road block.
After the cutscene, talk to the armored guy in this room. Ask him about his mission and tell him Benedict died. You'll get a quest. Go to the second floor and follow the walkway to a dead end. You'll see four bricks. Again, numbered 1 to 4 from left to right. Hit the 1st, 3rd, 2nd, 4th. It opens a door downstairs with a bed, chests, and vases. Destroy the vases, loot everything. One of the chests should have a good sword, so equip it. Now talk to the innkeeper, ask him about the problems, and you'll get a quest. Now ask the armored guy about combined attacks.
You'll be on the beach. Follow the tutorial. Basically, what he wants you to do is press A, then press A again when your hand glows. This is a combo that does more damage than just spamming the A button. You should always be doing a combo, don't button spam. After this tutorial, achievement...
Combined Attacks training successfully accomplished
Now go Southwest, a bunch of assassins will drop down from the bridge. Kill them all and then loot the bodies afterward. You should see a fire nearby and the fishermen. Talk to him and tell him Benedict died. The fisherman asks you to find some oars. Southeast of him is an island with bats on it, swim to it and climb onto the island. The bats are a pain, they fly too high to attack. When you get near them, they will swoop down and attack you, this is your chance. Lock onto them with LT to make it easier. Once they are dead, pick up the two oars on the ground and then go back to the fisherman.
He will give you options, pick creek bay. Talk to Soros. Talk about pigeons, ask if the pigeons belong to him. You have three choices here, pay him for the pigeons, kill him, or go back to the innkeeper to figure something out. Since we are being classy, we can't kill him. Whether you want to pay or backtrack to the innkeeper and back again is up to you. I paid the money because I hate backtracking.
Either way, he will give you a key to the cave behind him, enter, and go to the back of the cave and pick up the pigeon in a cage. It's a safe bet that taking anything on the ground or opening the chest is stealing, so don't do it.
Talk to the fisherman and go to the Southern shore. Go back to the inn and talk to the innkeeper to turn in the quest. Now talk to the fisherman again and pick Venice. I chose "I have to do this". Once you are in the waterway, the fisherman tells you he can give you a lantern, don't bother. Sell everything you don't need (if you have leather mail(unfitted), keep it to make some later if you don't have it yet). Enter the door to the South. Progress forward to the two assassins, kill them both. Loot the bodies, the elite one had a hammer. A cutscene will show a door you just passed. Equip the hammer and then hit the door with it.
Edmundo is inside. Talk to him and ask him who he is, then choose to learn mental skills. If you have the skill points (and you should) buy a point in Raven's wrath, which will unlock the skill below it, Raven's eye. Buy it for the first twilight circle achievement.
Learn the strongest skill connected to the first Twilight skill
Now go back to where you fought the hammer guy, and knock down the door. Progress forward to a fork, go right and then up the stairs to find an assassin.
Attack him till he is almost dead, he will talk to you. Offer to spare him and he will offer a dagger, keep it classy and let him live. Follow the path for another fork, go West, killing stuff until you reach another door. Knock it down, kill the guy, loot him, and pick up the scroll on the desk. Now you'll see two bricks to the left of the door, and two on the other side of the cloth hanging down. 4th, 1st, 3rd, 2nd. Enter the door that opens and loot the chests. There are some urns and stuff in the Northeast corner of this room, break them.
Return to the fork and go South. You'll find a big room with a merchant in it. Demand info from him and then sell all the stuff you don't need. Enter the door West of him. Walk forward till a gate falls down, a switch is on the right on the gate, use it. Continue forward. Cutscene, choose protect Leon. Kill the two guys, cutscene. Choose "I will restore peace" and then "Put an end to her evil doings". Boss time.
Equip the hammer and attack the four pillars on near the walls of the room, two hammer hits should do it. The platform will collapse and she will fall down. After that, equip your sword and attack her. She acts like the assassins you've been fighting.
Cutscene. Twilight world boss fight time. You can only use the moonblade here, that is the only thing that will kill her. She has a bunch of tentacles. The outer skin of this monster cannot be damaged, you need to get the tentacles to reveal their inner skin, which you can damage. This seems somewhat random. The tentacles will try to hit you and the head will spew acid at you. Stand in front of a tentacle but far enough away that it can't hit you. It should eventually reveal its inner skin.
Once you've killed one, she burrows underground and then pops back up. She will try to ground slam you when she does, strafe to avoid. Repeat for every tentacle. Once they are all down, she just tries to spew acid at you. Lock on to her and get right next to her and just keep hitting A. Every time she lowers her head you will hit it and do damage, and she can't seem to hit you when you are this close. Once her life bar is gone, you've won. Cutscene, choose "She was not the master", then mention Benedict. After the cutscene ends, first chapter complete!
Loot the boss' body and enter the door nearby. Cutscene. Dialog, tell the kid the waterway is safe now. Now we are in Venice, in the Outer City. This is a big place and if you look at the map, you'll see quite a few doors...First go South to the temple, and enter. Cutscene, three lecters. Use the same hit and run tactics to kill two of them, then combo the last one to death. Pick up the three statue pieces and then press A on the statue.
Cutscene, ask how he can help. Use The Passage skill and you'll see two new friends, now you can lockpick doors. Speaking of which, the exit door is locked. Walk up to it and press A, and then it's mini game time. You'll see four uh...poles? Each a different color, and those color are suspiciously similar to the 360 controller buttons...and in the same position. Yes, for a reason. Basically, this game works like Simon says. They touch the poles in the order you have to. It seems to be random so I cannot offer much help here. Mine was Y,B,X,X. Lockpick the chest but do not loot it. Since we are in a building in a city we run the risk of "stealing".
We have a lot of quests to do here so lets get started. After leaving the temple it will (probably) be nightfall by now (if not ignore the inn part). Rogues patrol the streets at night, so be ready for combat. Go to the middle area and enter the inn/hotel in the Northwest part of this area. Walk up to the open door and enter, give the guy a ducat for a room, and then go into the door behind him and sleep. choose the top left time. We needed it to be day as most NPC's aren't awake at night. Now exit and go South. Talk to the lady in a blue dress (Madelene). Apologize, ask her about the drunk, ask her when he went. Enter the door near her and climb up the stairs, enter the first door you see. Cross the walkway (Hit those vases) and enter the door. Kill the two lecters and this quest is done.
Go back into the tower next to Madeline and go up another floor, and enter the door. Follow the path to the end and then use The Passage and enter the portal. Walk toward the chest and lockpick it and loot it. You'll get an achievement in the process...
Find a special lookout point in the Outer City
Now go to the Northwest entrance of this big circular building in the middle area. You'll see a citizen and a guard. Talk to the guard, then the guy next to him. Tell him you want in and then say you are from the mountains. Cutscene, you can now enter the circular building. Look around the outside of the building for a guard in blue armor (he wanders around). Talk to him and ask about troubles, accept the rogue killing quest.
Exit the middle area by taking the Northwest bridge. and then go North to the courthouse and go inside, talk to the judge and accept both jobs. Now exit the courthouse and go East a little and you'll see a sign that has two swords and a shield. Enter this building. Cutscene, a guy will talk to you. Deliver the message from Yngvar (the armored guy at the inn on the beach). Now ask him about training. Now ask about physical skills. Buy Sword Block, buy all three levels in moonblade mastery, then one point in the Twilight Rift below it, and one point in the moonblade block below it. Buy one point in Spear Mastery, one in Hammer Mastery, one in Gasp for Breath below it, and one in Shattering Blow below it. If you don't have enough skill points for some reason, don't worry. You'll be here for quite awhile doing quests which should get you enough experience to get the rest before we leave this place. Now ask Rangar about training skills. He wants you to block his attacks then counterattack. Assign Sword Block to a button, then hold it and then press A after you block his attack. The timing is pretty tight though, spamming A after the block is probably the easiest way to ensure you get it. Do it 5 times and get the block achievement.
Blocking Training successfully accomplished
Now leave this place and continue going East as you were. Follow the path until you reach some wooden stairs, climb them and talk to the guy by the boxes. Ask who he is, then ask for info nicely, then ask about his business. You'll get a quest. Continue East and you'll reach a ladder. Hit the rope next to it with your sword and the ladder lowers. Climb down it for a cutscene. Talk to the old guy nearby ask him whats up, and then tell him you are good with a weapon when given the chance. He will give you a quest. Now walk across the bridge to enter the middle area and cross the Southwest bridge. Talk to the guy near the garden for a quest, then circle back around to the old temple and talk to the kid near the door.
Tell him Rat wants him and then offer him sweets, he will tell you only Rat can give them to him. If you have sweets, go ahead and talk to Rat, if not cross the bridge to the North and find the merchant in the market named "Madame Orlof". Her stand has bread and candy. Buy some sweets from her. Right next to the bridge is a girl named Joanna. She can customize your leather armor if you were unable to do so before leaving Mattheo's town. You should have more than enough gold. Use any of the merchants here to sell unneeded stuff. Now go talk to rat again. Tell him Rico (the kid) wants sweets. Quest finished, he tells you to talk to Crowe and we will in a second. Go back to the ladder you knocked down earlier. You'll see a door facing it. Notice it has two locks. 1 lock is easiest, 2 is medium, three is hard. If your memory is poor, write down the buttons so you can get it done quickly. Pick the lock and enter.
Kill the first rogue then enter the room with three. Backtrack to the hallway. They will all funnel into the hallway and you can kill them without getting surrounded. Now reenter the room and go through the other door, pick the lock on the chest and take the stuff. Congratulations, you've now reached your first completely safe save point (3-4 hours into the game). You can save here, or at any rogue quarter, without worrying about anything disappearing on you. Save every chance you get. You don't want to mess up a quest or your reputation and have to redo hours of work. It is easy to forget to do so since you can go long periods without access to rogue quarters during the story, but take every chance you get.
Now that you have a save to fall back on if you do something stupid, feel free to pick any locks you see. Just don't take anything if you are in a building with people or in a city, as it will most likely cost you reputation, and an achievement. You can pick the locks with no penalty, it's when you actually take stuff that you might lose reputation.
Return to the inn in the middle area and climb to the top of the tower, take the door and then follow the pathway South to Crowe, talk to him and ask for work. Say somebody mentioned work. Say we're on the same side. Offer your trust. Ask for work again. Quest! Lockpick the chest nearby, but don't take the items. Now go back to the door you came from but follow the pathway North instead (break those pots). You'll see a guard by a chest. You can't lockpick that one, enter the door the guard is facing. Talk to the prisoner then go down to ground level and exit.
Alright, let's get shit done. Cross the Northwest bridge and then climb down the stairs near the bridge, then enter the sewer grate near the bridge to enter the catacombs. Swim to the wooden walkway and climb up it. This area has a ton of grippers. These are crab-like enemies. They do a TON of damage, so you need to be careful around them. Lock onto them and then bait them like you did the delvers. Move close to them so they attack, strafing right or left so you can attack their side.
However, unlike Delvers, they turn very slowly, so you can just run behind them and get hits easily. Note that the hammer is the only weapon that does good damage to them, the sword and moonblade suck. Anyway, follow the walkway East, killing grippers as you go, and then when the path splits North/South, go South. It dead-ends in a room with a delver. Kill it and loot its body, then lockpick the chest nearby. Return to the fork and go North and lockpick the chest there, then backtrack to a path leading South (it's Southeast of where you entered).
You'll see two guards, talk to them and ask them "What with?". The room to the South has a switch and a gripper. Lure the gripper into the room with the guards and they will help. Afterward, enter the room and press A on the wheel to remove the stone. Now go North and then West until you reach a big platform stretching South, take the Northwest path into the water and then take the path going Southwest, and then take it Southeast. Go to the door at the end and break it, break the vases inside and lockpick the chest.
Look for a break in the wall on the Southwest wall and enter it. There will be a small break in the wall on the right, the pathway glows blue. Enter it and you'll be in the first gripper queen lair. There are a bunch of grippers here. Try to lure them one at a time so you can fight them 1 on 1. If that doesn't happen, keep running around behind them and swing the hammer. Try to position yourself so the others have to walk around the gripper you are attacking, this will give you extra time to attack. Once you've killed all the others but the one next to the queen, confront her. She has the same poor turning speed as her spawn, so use this to your advantage and kill the last small guy. Then use the same tactics to kill her, attack her from the sides or behind. You'll get the slayer achievement when you've beaten her.
Continue playing to unlock this secret achievement. (Secret)
Now start walking back to the grate you entered from. On the way you'll notice two assassins near some stairs. Climb the stairs and kill them, then go in both doors nearby for loot. Note that the room with the two chests has a bench that acts like a bed. Use it for health if needed. Leave the catacombs and you'll get a cutscene. Go North to the judge and turn in both jobs. We now have 200 reputation. While we are here, go up the stairs and walk up to the pile of papers and press A to replace them for Crowe's quest.
Return to Crowe to turn the quest in, then go into the circular building and talk to the guy behind the table. Ask for work and accept the quest, then trade with him. Sell off any unwanted stuff and then buy the Chantori sword. If you have the money, buy the balanced war hammer. You can also buy the guard spear if you like. I do not use it because I don't like the spears in this game, but it is up to you what weapons you use.
Now cross the Southwest bridge. Talk to the gardener to turn that quest in (you should now have 250 reputation). Now go North. The second locked door you passed by (two locks) is the second rogue quarter. Lockpick and enter it. Kill the first rogue, then the leader will tell you that the guards will take over if you kill them. Be that as it may (and it is true) you need that damn achievement. Fight and kill them all. Rogue Hunter will unlock. Loot their bodies and then go to the back room and loot the chest.
Continue playing to unlock this secret achievement. (Secret)
Perfect time to save hint hint hint! Remember to use a different slot each time so you have something to go back to if you mess up.
Now exit and go a bit more North to find a fancy door with 1 lock on it. Lockpick it. You'll probably get the warning about stealing here, don't worry. You are alright as long as you take nothing. Climb the stairs and go through a door to find more stairs, keep climbing to the top and then take the door to the outer city. You'll be on the roof, climb the ladder. Kill the bats and then hit the chimney like structure with your hammer a few times to knock it down. Climb back down the ladder you just used (not the other one) and then hit the rope to knock the ladder down and use it to get back to ground level.
Go to the middle area and enter the door opposite the inn. Go to the top and follow the walkway for the second nest. Kill everything and destroy the nest with the hammer, go back down. Find the guard captain in this area and turn in the rogue quest (350 rep now). Go North and then East (buy the other skills from Ragnar if you couldn't earlier). Return to Rat and ask about the prisoner, demand the money. Threaten him and then accept the 300 ducats (oddly enough you'll get the 30 rep from this quest even though you haven't turned it in quite yet). Climb the ladder on the right nearby. Kill all the bats and then destroy the nest. Climb back down and enter the door nearby. Break the two vases and then lockpick the door. Kill the two lecters, Nox will talk to you. Say you just saved his life. Offer help, then deny and ask how to earn his trust.
He tells you to join a guild. Alright. Leave the house and go East to the rogue quarter nearby. Climb the ladder next to the door, kill the bats, destroy the next, Beast Slayer achievement.
Continue playing to unlock this secret achievement. (Secret)
Save in the rogue quarter if you like and then return to Crowe and turn in the quest. The reward sucks. You can trade with him and buy the same spear the guy in the circular building sold, or plate armor. Buy the plate armor if you don't have some already. You should now have 430 reputation. Go back to ground level and enter the door opposite, climb to the top and talk to the prisoner.
Now lets join a guild for the story quest. Southeast of the gardener is the door to the hooded wings guild, enter. Cutscene. Go up the stairs to the guy in the cutscene and talk to him. Ask about working with the HW. Then ask about joining, then select join the HW. The door under you on the ground floor leads to the catacombs. Enter it and talk to Grimm nearby.
Now follow the passage. You'll swim through water and enter another room, break the pots and loot the chest here, then keep going. Instead of climbing up the wooden platform, get in the water to the left of the platform and look for a break in the wall. Enter it and follow it to a door (loot the chest first). Enter the door. Talk to Hod nearby, then climb down the ladder. Go back to the HW HQ and talk to Deimos (the guy you talked to before). You should now have 460 reputation, and you'll get the Hooded Wings achievement.
Continue playing to unlock this secret achievement. (Secret)
Go back to Grimm and tell him you are ready. Your next mission is one big backtrack. Go back to the HQ and exit it to the city. Go to the door for the Water Gateway (it's by the ladder you knocked down while doing the nests. Go all the way back to where the fisherman is. In the room before the dock is the guy you need to talk to (Pontos). Now talk to the fisherman and go to the Southern shore. Next to the island you found the oars on is another island, connected to a ship. Climb up the island and then walk to the ship. Talk to the guy on it, then go back to the fisherman and travel to Venice. Talk to Pontos. Now go back to the Outer City and talk to Grimm. Talk to him for another mission. You should have 490 reputation now. We need to be in the Inner City for it, so for now we are finally, finally, FINALLY, done here...for now. Go back to Nox and talk to him.
Listen to him for awhile and then choose learn mental skills. Buy a point in Ancestral Horror, Blood Tool, and Blood Vortex. Achievement...
Learn the strongest skill connected to the second Twilight skill
Blood Toll/Vortex both damage enemies and steal health from them. These are obviously very helpful skills in a playthrough where you can't use healing items. At the very least, buy the rest of the points for Toll. Vortex is situational...there aren't many cases where enough enemies will be grouped together to make this better than Toll. I wouldn't bother putting any extra points in it. Northeast corner of the Outer City is the door to the Nightwatch guild. Enter it and go up the stairs near the door. You'll see a bat in the room holding the badge. It won't come into melee range, which is why we needed Blood Toll to finish this quest. Use Toll on it and pick up the badge.
If it is night, Kronos will be wandering around the city, otherwise he will be outside the Nightwatch Guild door. If he is wandering, he could be just about anywhere. If you don't find him on the way to the Inn, sleep for the night and wait till day, then go to the NW guild and talk to him to turn in the quest. Press A on the gate next to the guild to go to the Inner City. Some cutscenes start happening now.
Just like Outer City, there are a lot of locked doors around here. After we get the Rogue quest in a few minutes, lockpick any doors you come across. When you regain control, smack those two pots the camera helpfully shows. Walk forward for a cutscene. Afterwards, talk to Eliana (the girl from the cutscene). Offer help to get a quest. Can't do it right now though. As you are running around the city guards will stop you, just tell them you are a HW member and they will let you pass. Go through the gate with the guards you saw in the cutscene (right of Eliana if you are facing her) and climb the stairs. Climb the next set of stairs and then go South and enter the door on the right under the sign. Ask for work. You'll get a roof beast quest. Ask her about special items, you'll get a pale hearts quest. Now show her the magic ring you have (got it from the first boss), and she will improve your moonblade for 500 ducats. Sell any unwanted stuff.
She sells two swords that cost more than the Chantori but have 15 less attack...however they have special effects. One gives you some mana when you kill an enemy, and the other gives you life. The Ring of Life she sells is pretty sexy...but you won't be able to afford it right now. Exit the place and then backtrack a bit to the first set of stairs. Next to the stairs are a bunch of merchants. One of them is by an Inn. Enter the Inn. Talk to the guy behind the counter. Say "That's right" and then say "He's right". He will tell you to enter a room. We will avoid being classy in this case and fight the innkeeper. Leave the Inn and reenter. Apple Wine unlocks.

Talk to the guy by the table with the guard captain for a quest. You can't do it until you get to Arsenel though so don't worry about it. Talk to the guard captain and ask who he is. Ask about quests. Ask about both rogues and beasts for two more quests. It has probably been awhile since you've saved, so lets fix that. Go back to the shop you had your moonblade improved at and go straight North. It dead-ends. The door on the right is a rogue quarter. Lockpick, kill the rogues the same way you always do, and loot the chest in the backroom. Save if you like. Go back to the tavern and go straight South. Enter the door next to the trade center and talk to the guy next to the door. Tell him you aren't a doctor then accept the quest. From here, go East and then North to spot a door with 2 locks, this is the second rogue quarter. Same procedure as always.
Walk South and then West to get back to the trading center, then go North and then before you cross the bridge, go West and then South. On this little walkway is a ladder, climb it. There is a chest to the right you can lockpick and safely loot. Follow the path past the chest to find the first nest. East of here is another nest. Clear it out. There is also another chest you can loot near it. After that nest is down, go back to the ladder and climb back down. Return to the bridge but go East and then get into the water using the stairs. Go North and then West to find a hole in the wall you can use to enter the catacombs.
Go North and keep an eye out for a break in the wall on the right with the trademark blue glow/liquid. Another Queen lair. use the same method of attack as the first. Try and lure them one by one and smash them with the hammer. You can kill them in less than 2 full combos with the Chantori. I actually prefer this method as the short time between sword attacks (compared to the hammer) make it easier to maneuver. Kill the queen after you've cleared out all the peons.
Now return to the hallway and continue North. It dead-ends at two chests and some assassins. Kill them all, loot everything. Backtrack a bit to see an opening in the wall on the left, enter it. You'll end up in the water, climb onto the wooden platform nearby. Go Northeast and follow this path (break the vases and kill the assassins you pass by) until you starts going up, you'll reach a fork with bats. For whatever reason, you can't seem to harm these bats with melee, even when they swoop down. Keep casting Blood Toll as it comes off cooldown to kill them. Go Northwest, kill the lecters, then go Northeast to a door.
Walk forward and then cutscene. Go left to find the first statue fragment, then look behind the fallen pillar for the second piece. Continue North to find a sacred scroll behind a pillar, you'll need this later on for a quest. Climb the fallen pillar and then follow the walkway to the outer edge, go West and then South to take the statue fragment. Continue South and break both vases near the pillars. You'll reach a bunch of pews, in the back by the big door is a chest, loot it. Go North but take the East path this time, vases are in the same spots on this side. Now activate the statue.
Usual cutscene. Choose fight. Fight your way back into the catacombs. Return to where you entered the catacombs but go South instead. Follow it until you reach a ladder. Climb it and then enter the door. Pick up the painting on the wall. You'll be confronted, choose to talk your way out of it and pay 100 ducats. You will not take a hit to your reputation this way. Exit the house and use the manhole to return to the catacombs.
Return to where you where you first entered the catacombs (go North) and return to the Inner City. Go back to the Inn and turn in the two quests. You should now have 690 reputation. Climb the stairs near the guard captain, follow the path, climb the stairs, enter door. Follow the path and find two rogues. Kill them both. Follow the path to a ladder, climb it, go South and you'll find a dead body by a lion. Loot the body. Oh snap! The stone lion decides it wants to eat your face. Everything but the hammer will do shit damage, however you can stagger lock it if you just keep using a sword combo. It is agile enough that it is hard to hit it with the hammer, it will move during your combo. Either way, once it dies Nox will appear, thank him. Loot the lion's body for a Pale Heart, the first of the games only collectibles, and part of a quest of the same name.
There is a wooden walkway next to it, cross it and kill the bats/destroy the nest. You'll get the Beast Nightmare achievement.

Return to the inn and look for a guy named Ulrik, he wanders around the Inn. Talk to him and ask him who he is. Ask him what sucks about being a smith. Then choose learn physical skills. buy Death Burst in the first column and then buy Titan's Blow and Hurricane in the second column. You'll get the Scythe and Sword achievements.
Learn the strongest Scythe skill
Learn the strongest Sword skill
Then talk to him again and tell him you know a smith. You can get a certificate which means you'll have to backtrack to the first area...or pay 2000 ducats and he will fetch Mattheo himself. PAY THE DUCATS. Exit the Inn, then go to the shop and turn in the nest quest. Sell any unwanted stuff while you are here. You should have 740 reputation now.
Now return to the inn and go East to the area where the cutscene happened when you first entered the inner city. The door on the East wall belongs to the Net of the Mask guild. Enter it and talk to Aeris and give her the scroll. Then ask to learn mental skills. In the fourth column under Unworldly clutch, buy a point in the Wasted Years, Enduring Passage, Echoes of Twilight, and Mental Defiance skills. Doing so will give you Master of 4th.
Learn the strongest skill connected to the fourth Twilight skill
You don't have the top skill in the 3rd column so you can't complete it but don't worry, you can't do that till you get to Arsenel.
Walk South from the NotM guild and enter the door to the East (on the left, after you cross the bridge). Mattheo is here and he wants to customize the shit out of that plate mail for you, if you have 2000 ducats. Do so and get the plate mail achievement.
Equip the plate mail. Go West to the rogue quarter and save if you have not done so in awhile. Then go North to the gate you used to enter the Inner City, and return to the Outer City.
Go to the door opposite the Inn and go up to the top, go past the prisoner to the door leading outside. Talk to the guard and ask about medicine, bribe him. Offer 100. Now go to your guild HQ and give the painting to Grimm. Your next quest requires you get to Arsenel, so don't worry about it for now. Return to the Inner City. Go to the house next to the trade center, where the guy looking for medicine is. Give it to him to finish the quest. You should now have 820 reputation.
Go to the Southeast corner of the city to see a scene. Approach the old guy and tell him you need to get on the Claw. He tells you to meet him on the roof. Go to the inn and use the stairs to go up to the roofs. Return to where the lion was. Now face South. On the right is a building that is falling apart, and there is an archway you can walk across to get to it, do so.
You'll see a rogue, talk to him and he will say something, reply with "watch your tongue on the roofs or it might fall off" or whatever, and then walk past him and talk to Tusker. Listen to his dumb joke, then TELL HIM YOUR NAME and that you need to board the claw. He tells you to go to the trade center at night. The stool by the door acts as a bed, you can sit on it and "sleep". Choose the bottom middle time. Now go to the trade house for a cutscene. Kill the two assassins and talk to the Persian guard. Give him the key.
Uh well, we got aboard the claw at least. I guess...Face the bars and look to the right for a skeleton. Walk up to him and press A to pick up a bone. Equip it, then talk to the guard by the door and tell him you are being flooded, then say yes there is, then ask why you have wet feet, and finally, say back there in the corner. Attack the guard once he comes in. When he is dead, leave the cell for a cutscene.
You'll be facing Persian guards with just the bone. Treat them just like less-agile assassins and be careful, since you don't have your good weapons or armor. Go out the door and go left, follow the path past a door on the left and keep going until you see a door on the right. Enter it. You'll see a ton of chests. One of them has your stuff, search them all. Once you've opened all the chests return to the door that leads to the prison and go right instead of left. Enter the door you see on the right and kill the four lecters, then break the pot and pick up what drops. Return to the prison door and go left again, to the dead-end with the door that has a moon symbol on it. Open it. Open the door in front of you. Go West and see a cutscene. Go to the grappling hook and press A.
This guy talks to you, ask him "How does he know" and then "He got me here after all" and then ask them what they are doing here. He will tell you to get medicine. Return to the door and enter. Look to your right for stairs up to the deck. Before taking them, save your game. We need to get the medicine without getting caught for an achievement. There are no quest NPC's in this area, so we don't have to worry about the glitch.
Well, "getting caught" is a bit deceptive. You can actually get caught, you just can't kill anyone. So make sure your weapon isn't drawn in case you hit A accidentally, and run around the deck grabbing the medicine. Go to your quest log tab in the back button menu (the tab with the book) and press A on the rogue games quest. This will show you where the three packages are. Grab them, run back to below deck and then enter the door on the left and jump down the grappling hook again. Talk to Drago to get the Stealth Master achievement.
Continue playing to unlock this secret achievement. (Secret)
He will take you somewhere. Walk forward for a cutscene. Ask who he is, then demand the code, ask him nicely, then flatter him, and ask him very, very nicely. Then thank him nicely. Return to Drago.
Press A on the rope and then circle around the deck killing dudes, but most importantly hitting those 5 vases you'll pass by. Once you get back to the door that leads back to where we saved, enter and climb up the stairs again. There are a ton of vases all over here, so run around and kill all the guys and break the vases. Both the tan and blue vases count. You should get Shred Master and True Hero achievements.
If you don't get either of them, do not worry, you are very close and they should pop soon. Once you get back from the clearing the deck, take the door on the right and follow the path till you see a red fancy door on the right. Open it and enter with the password "Eternity".
Cutscene. After the boss gives you a cool story bro, choose "I will restore the balance". Boss fight time. As soon as you regain control, turn around and go to that vase you saw in the cutscene. Smash it. Hector goes into rage mode. Now you want to bait him into attacking the two pillars in the middle of the area. Stand by them and wait for him to reach you, then when he starts powering up, move. Each pillars needs two hits. After both are down things move to the twilight world.
Twilight world boss fight time. Hold LT to lock onto his leg, then move to his left side. Attack his leg. He will generally try to grab you, the game will slowdown greatly when he does. Roll out of the way and attack his leg. Once you remove the life bar, he falls down, attack his back. Watch out when he falls, the impact can damage. You should have it dead after two rounds of this.
Now he falls on his stomach and tries to attack you with his head. Basically, lure him into trying to bite you. Move away, then close the distance and attack his face after the bite. Repeat until he dies. He can also slam his left fist on the ground instead of biting, so try to stay to his right (your left). If you stay on the left side of his head and stay close his bites will usually miss. After he dies, dialog. Apologize, then say you will go find Sophistos. Now say you will do this for Benedict. Cutscenes. Second Chapter achievement.
Walk down the stairs nearby to take the casket the cutscene pointed out. Notice the boatmen guy that is here now. They are gondoliers, and these kick ass guys can take you to different places in the Inner and Outer city, Arsenel, and the Southern Bay. Needless to say, very helpful. First order of business is to go to the shop and show her the magic ring you just picked up, let her upgrade the moonblade again. Sell unwanted stuff. You'll probably have "Banded Mail (Unfitting)". There is no achievement for getting it fitted and I like plate mail personally, but if you want you can have Mattheo fit it and use it. Otherwise, sell it.
Now go to the Net of the Mask HQ. Eliana (girl in blue dress) is here, talk to here to get the reward for saving her husband. You should have 900 reputation now. South of the smithy is the gate to Arsenel, take it. Cutscene. You'll be asked to pay 2000 ducats. You can also show no fear. You have 5 lives. Show no fear. Threaten them. After you revive, kill them both and keep your 2000 ducats.
Walk forward, once you cross the bridge Leon shows up. Tell him this place is dangerous. Ask him about everything if you like then end the conversation. Turn left and then take the first bridge and go right, follow this until you reach Dominicus the shopkeeper. He has crappy items for sale, except the shovel. Buy it, you'll need it to dig up treasures and get an achievement. Enter the door nearby to find the "Doctor". Ask him who he is, then give him the parcel. Exit, walk past the shopkeeper, walk down the stairs, and talk to the gondolier. Travel to the inner city, center. Go to the Inn.
Talk to Callisto, who has replaced the guard captain. Offer help. Cross the bridge South of you (not the one going Southeast) and look to the left for a door, this leads to the garrison. In the back room is the guard captain, ask about the kidnapped heiress. Exit, then go down the stairs nearby into the water, turn left, then left again to enter the catacombs. Climb the wooden platform, then go North and then take the break in the wall on the right. Follow the path like you are going to the broken down church, but when you reach the fork on the wooden platform, go left instead of right. Follow the path for a cutscene.
You can either fight or leave, I left since we are being classy. There is a locked chest nearby, loot it, then climb the stairs on the East side of the room and walk all the way back to the exit. Watch for the vases you'll pass by if you don't have the achievement yet. Once you are back in the Inner City, look East for a Gondolier, travel to the Western Villa (Southwest of map). Talk to the lady on the right to finish the quest. You should have 1000 reputation now. Since we are here, use the shovel in the Southwest corner of this garden, by the tree stump for the first treasure. Picture...

Return to the gondolier and go back to Arsenel.
Climb the stairs and take a right, cross the bridge on the right, and go forward to the stairs. Continue climbing, killing the Juma Warriors as you go until you get a cutscene. Talk to the poor guy, say indeed, answer whichever, offer help. Say you will get the scrolls, then talk to him again and give them to him (you got them from the church you were in earlier). Enter the door next to him and kill the two lecters. Then search the small church for the three statue pieces, and then activate the statue. Cutscene. Say you won't disappoint him. Exit the church and talk to the guy again. Cutscene. Oddly enough, you get 900 reputation from this, putting you at 1900. Climb back to where you were and keep going up. You'll see a wooden platform on your left eventually, take it. Kill the warriors here and then instead of going up the stairs, look for the platform nearby with two guys on it.
Talk to the guy for a quest, kill the bats, then talk to them again. Now go up the stairs and open the door. Talk to the rebels on the right, tell them your name, try to fire them up, and you'll get a quest. Go up the stairs to the Africans and warn them the princess is in Venice for another quest. Now go down the stairs and down the stairs next to it, and talk to the in the red low cut dress (Liora). Give her the letter. Ask about Sophistos, then ask whats going on, then ask about her husband. Quest.
Return to the platform you just cleared of bats and talk to the guy to go down. Instead of gong back, go the other way and it'll lead to two guards. Talk to them and ask to pass,, then bribe them to finish the quest just like that. Go forward a bit to see a cutscene. Help the guy. Now backtrack a tad and go down the ladder near the guards. If you are facing the ladder, go right to find a door to the catacombs. Follow the path taking a left when possible. You'll eventually come across purple flames. These are spirits you can only harm by using the passage skill. When you reach a straight/left fork, go left for two vases if you need them. Otherwise go straight and break the vases you pass by if needed. Break the vase by the stairs to get through.
Keep goign straight and don't take the wooden walkway to the left path. You'll reach a dead end with 2 grippers. Kill them both and then use the passage, you'll notice a skeleton in the chair. Talk to him. Ask him what happened, ask if he can teach you anyway. he will (hilariously) agree. Buy a point in the three skills under The Whisper skill (3rd column). Achievement...
Learn the strongest skill connected to the third Twilight skill
Backtrack a bit and go up the stairs you just walked under. On the right side of this big room with the skeletons is some stairs leading down, take them. Down here, kill the purple spirit and a cutscene will occur, ask him who blinded him, then ask to find out more. Lockpick the chest nearby and then look for a skeleton on the ground. Go near it, use The Passage, and talk to him. Tell him about Liora. Climb the stairs next to him and then go down the stairs nearby, U-turn once you get down and go behind the stairs, then follow it back to the exit to Arsenel.
Return to the platform and take it up to the top, then go to the Inn and talk to Liora. Tell her about her husband. Recite what he said about the flower. If you've followed the guide, you'll get Quest Master now.
Complete 50 quests in one game
Tell her things can still be changed. She will give you a letter for Largo. Exit the Inn and then take the wooden platform on the left. Then walk to where you saw the cutscene with the guard and the church guy. Talk to the guard and give him Liora's letter.
Assure full loyalty, ask where Sophistos lives, ask about the key, then accept the task. Offer to take care of Mercutio. Climb all the way down the stairs. When you reach the bottom, U-turn around the right side and go through the archway in the stairs and enter the door. Talk to the girl in the black corset thing and ask her about the guy, then pay her 150 ducats to finish the quest. Climb the stairs by her and then take a left, and climb the stairs you run in to. Talk to the guy and ask if he is Mercutio. DO NOT ATTACK HIM AND LET HIM TALK, AS YOU WILL VOID TWO ACHIEVEMENTS IF YOU KILL HIM. Kitten will show up, let her speak when given the chance. Tell her about needing the key.
She will tell you to steal it from the guy's house. Climb the stairs again and when you get to the level with the office, go left and then turn right with the wall to find a door with one lock, open it. Go into the door on the right and then down the stairs, then the door on the left and open the chest with the lock. In the room with the door back to Arsenel is a 3 lock chest, lockpick it but don't take anything. Now go back to the level with the inn and platform. Under the stairs to the Inn is an archway, go through it and cross the wooden bridge, killing the bats as you go. Enter the chimney.
Walk around the outer edge of the top level to find a skeleton. Use The Passage and talk to him. Ask about the Black Grimoire, let him carry on, let him continue. Exit the chimney and return to Kitten. Talk to her and then say "Hear more". She will give you a rogue slayer quest. Exit the building and climb the stairs as if you are gong to the top and enter the first door on the right (has two locks). Picklock it. This will be your first encounter with Necromancers. They wield moonblades, but otherwise work like Rogues and Assassins except that they roll more often. Kill them all and loot the chest in the back.
Exit and go back down the stairs, cross the bridge nearby and go left, ignore the bridge on the left and keep going forward. Go under the archways and keep going forward, then go up the stairs on the right. Go right and lockpick the door. Wipe out these guys as well. Achievement.
Continue playing to unlock this secret achievement. (Secret)
Return to Kitten and turn in the quest. You've broken the 2000 reputation barrier. Achievement.
Earn 2000 reputation points
Your reputation is now meaningless, but you don't want to take the chance of stealing ruining your good ending, so keep pretending like your rep matters. Use the platform to go down and talk to a gondolier. Go to the Eastern Villa (Northeast of map). Climb the stairs to the right in the first chamber. Go through the door on the other side of the room, take a right, another right, go straight through the door (ignore the one on the left) and then go in the door behind these red...curtain things. Kill the necromancer and take the key off the body of the guy whose throat was slit.
Go in the door opposite the one you just entered. use the stairs to go down and look at the lion statue. Straight behind it is a tree. Stand right in the middle of this tree and the statue, and then dig with the shovel, you'll get the book. Go in the door the lion is looking at and go straight ahead to the gondolier. Return to the Arsenel district and go to the chimney again. Climb down the stairs, then enter the door on the left and press A to put the book on the grate. Follow the stairs to the very bottom.
There are four wheels here (the first one is stuck in the wall sideways. Hit the 3rd, 2nd, 4th, 1st. Sophistos will attack you. He doesn't seem to roll or block, so just combo him to death. Exit and leave the chimney for a silly cutscene. They don't even try to find you after?
You are poisoned, but perhaps thanks to the ring you got from Callisto's quest, you'll be taking no damage. Go to the Doctor you gave the parcel to earlier, and talk to him. Mention poison. Exit and talk to the merchant outside. Sell any unwanted stuff (keep the shovel and ring of life). Return to the platform and take it up.
Go to the Inn and talk to the guy next to the African woman, and ask him about the book. Tell him he needs to follow you, then offer to protect him. Now you'll need to walk down all the stairs to the Doctor's place because the developers hate you. Fight your way down to the Doctor's house. Your ally is not defenseless and will help. I'm not sure if he can actually die, he didn't in any of my 6 playthroughs.
Once inside the house, say "this was not easy", then ask for help. When you exit, a person will tell you to go to your guild. Go to the Outer City and do so. Talk to Master Deimos. Agree. Go to the room opposite of him and sleep in the bed. Choose the bottom right time. Now you need to be (kinda sorta) quick, as you need to do two things at night. Now go talk to a gondolier and go back to Arsenel, dockyard. Go up the stairs and lockpick the door if you haven't already, then go back down the stairs and go straight to the ladder. Climb it, go past the guards, and go left to the docks. Follow the path until you reach a guy fighting a rogue, help him. Continue along the path. Just before the first dock with a ship, turn left and look for a 3 lock chest, open it.
Now go all the way to the last dock and cross it to the lighthouse. Go inside, climb the stairs to the top, go outside through the doors, and then climb the ladder. Light the torch and lockpick the chest nearby. Climb down and then exit the lighthouse and walk across the path, you'll get a cutscene. Go to where the gondolier normally is and talk to the guy. Go back to the last dock and board the ship. Go down to the bottom of the ship, kill the two guards, and press A on the barrels nearby. Dialog, say "He went this way".
Go back toward the harbor and enter the second door on the right for a cutscene. You can't kill them so leave. Dialog, choose go to the guild. Talk to Deimos and ask for help. When you regain control, talk to Grimm and say "Ready". While he is talking walk past them and enter the door beyond the barred door (you may have to wait for an enemy to come through the door to slip in). Kill the two guards you can magically damage now. On the left is a prison cell with Leon in it, walk up to the door and press A. Cutscene. Kill the guards and beat the princess down. Exit the building through the nearby door, follow the path leading to Arsenel, but use the gondolier on the way, and go to your guild. Talk to Deimos, ask about mission, and then select "he is right, refrain from asking".
Now talk to Grimm in his usual spot. Now you need to go to the Order of the Holy Seal guild. If you talk to the Gondolier and choose Outer City, Market, it is Northeast of you. Talk to the guy behind Ragnar and then enter the door behind him. Lockpick the chest, take the package. Try to leave, say you were told to clean the room. Kill him then leave. If you haven't bought at least a point in every skill Ragnar offers do so. Talk to a gondolier and go to Arsenel Entrance. Don't go up the stairs, instead follow the canal and take the right path when it splits. Take the right path at the next split and then go to the dead end and walk next to the barrels. You should get an option to "Use" by pressing A, do so. Ragnar will appear, defeat him and loot his body. His sword is better than the Chantori so equip it.Return to Grimm. You'll get the Hooded Wings complete Achievement.
Continue playing to unlock this secret achievement. (Secret)
Go to a gondolier and go to the Docks, Quay. Go up the stairs and go left, and go down the first dock you see and board the ship. You'll find a familiar face at the wheel, talk to him. Choose let them talk, then demand a better reason, then trust him. Talk to him again and ask about Africa. After you regain control go on the deck and look for the small boat with Akbah (African dude) by it. Press A on the boat.
When you regain control, go North. You'll get a cutscene, ignore them and go North. Follow the path East until you can go North again, and do so. Enter the tree. Kill these four guards. Exit the tree (kill nothing else) through the North and then when you hit the wall follow the path Northwest until you reach a cave, and enter it. Kill the skeletons, pick up the statue piece, then go a bit south of the tree in the back of the cave and dig with the shovel. You'll get the Harvester. This is a strong axe that also gives an experience bonus. Here is a picture for reference...

Now, basically explore the whole island and kill everything with the harvester, you need to experience to get to level 32 for an achievement. If you weaken enemies with other weapons, it's ok, as long as the harvester does the killing blow. Once you've scouted the whole island and wiped everything out, go to the cave in the southwest of the island and enter it (west of where. Fight your way to the back of this cave and pick up the statue piece, then leave. South of the big tree is the third cave. Now go Northwest of the tree and climb the bridge you pass under and go North to the last cave. Go to the back of the cave and activate the statue. Cutscene, say "Tree? I will go and defeat the princess", then say "Maybe I can win her over".
Save your game in this cave. I've had the game freeze on me during the boss battle that happens next more than once. Now go back to the tree and go East of it to a barrier. Use the Abolish Curse skill you just obtained while standing next to the barrier. Walk up to the gate and hit A.
Watch the cutscene and then it is boss fight time. She summons two types of pillars, one splits open at the top and summons skeletons, the other has a life bar. When you see a skeleton summoner, destroy it. When the "Princess Totem" spawns, destroy it immediately. If a Princess Totem shows up and a skeleton tower is still up, destroy the Totem first. After you destroy four of her totems, it's twilight world time.
She is a bird, and shoots lasers. She flies from one end of the map to the other and shoots lasers at you. The lasers are hard to dodge, sometimes they go to the right/left of you, so rolling right/left will damage you. Do your best to roll out of the way. After making 3-4 passes she will land. This is your chance. Attack her head until it's life is gone, then attack her body. You should be strong enough to do this all at once. She will then drop a "spike and scale". Equip it. Then lock onto her and press A, this will make you block. When she shoots a laser at you it will be reflected. After three lasers are reflected, she dies. Cutscene. Third Chapter complete Achievement.
Leave this place. The crazy guy will talk to you, you can ask him questions but it is not necessary. Go to the big tree and look for a treasure chest, open it and take the ring and spear. Akbah is wandering around the village, usually around the tree. Find him. Get Shield Slam and Spear Fury under Spear Mastery for the Spear Mastery achievement, then get the Bludgeoning skill under Hammer Mastery for the Hammer Achievement.
Learn the strongest Hammer skill
Learn the strongest Spear skill
Now return to where your ship was and talk to the guy here, pick travel to Venice.
Cutscene, say you are doing it for peace, ask him how he feels, then say yes it would. Cutscene. Victor basically says he can't read....anyway, you can talk to the guy by the boat if you want to go back to Africa. Move forward and a stone bird will attack you, kill it. Loot it's body for a pale heart. Cross the bridge that just lowered to fight another stone bird, loot its heart. 3 pale hearts, need 6 more.
Go the Outer City, Garden. Go to the garden and kill the stone lion here, take the pale heart from it. Notice the tree in this garden with a stump next to it. Stand directly South of the tree, maybe a foot or two away, and dig for a treasure. Picture...
Next to the gondolier is an entrance to the catacombs, enter it. Go to the entrance leading to the gripper queen. Go Southeast one room and dig on the Western side of the room for a treasure. Picture...
And here is the map, the only black arrow is the treasure...
Return to any Gondolier. Now go to the Inner City, Center. First go to the shop and have her upgrade your moonblade again. Sell off any unwanted stuff then go South to the stairs and get into the water, then enter the catacombs. Entrance is Southwest of the Inn. Go North and enter the gripper lair. In the Northern corner on the right side of the water is the next treasure, dig it up. Here is a picture for reference...
Here is a picture of the Inner Catacombs map. The Gripper lair treasure is the arrow in the northwest...
Now go to where you paid the assassins to rescue the girl and dig West of the stairs for the next treasure. It is the arrow southeast of the gripper lair on the map right above. Picture...
Return to the exit to Inner City and go South to the ladder that leads to where you got the painting. Climb it. A stone animal sits above the door, approach it and kill it. loot the pale heart.
Return to the Inner City. Use a gondolier to go to Arsenel Entrance. Use the platform then cross the wooden walkway like you are going to Largo's and enter the door on the left. Use The Passage skill and you'll see a portal on the wall to the right, use it. Go down the stairs and into the next room to find a 2 lock chest. Lockpick it. You should get the burglar Achievement around now if you've been unlocking all the doors you've passed by.
Gain 1200 experience by cracking locks
If not, you'll have more chances, so don't worry, just continue to keep your eye out for doors and chests. Enter the door in the next room. You'll be on a bridge, with a stone bird behind you. When you reach the middle of the bridge, Dark Views Achievement.
Find a special lookout point in the Arsenal District
Kill the bird and take it's pale heart, kill the bats and then open the 3 lock door opposite the one you entered from. Go through the door and down the stairs to a room with two rogues and a chest. Loot it and then leave. Go to where the shopkeeper and Doctor are. Walk past the shopkeeper and follow the path until you reach a stone lion, kill it and take its heart.
Have a gondolier take you to the Outer City, Market. Go South past the merchants and cross the bridge, then go straight West to the door leading to the water gateway. Follow the path looking for a break on the wall on the right. Enter it and follow it around till it starts going North. Dig in the center of the big room you come across for a treasure. Picture...
And here is where it is on the Waterway map...
Continue North to the big room, and exit East and follow the path East and then North and return to where the fisherman is. Talk to him and go to Creek Bay first. Go North to a broken pillar that has a ship wheel and a skeleton next to it, and dig near it for a treasure. Picture...
And here it is on the map, it is the arrow near the northeast corner...
Talk to the fisherman and go to the Southern bay now. Go Southwest and walk up the the cliff. Hug it and follow it around a tree and rock to find a small little area facing a tree. Dig here for a treasure. It is the arrow in the middle of the map right above. Picture...
Climb the stairs and go through the tavern, then go to your hometown. A guy in the cave will tell you it is under attack by necromancers. You need to kill 30 Necromancers, make sure they all die to the Harvester for the bonus experience.
Take the path to the copper mine and then take the path to the hut, look for a break in the fence on the left. Go in and look to the tree on the left, you'll see roots in the ground. Dig in between the 2 sets for a treasure. Picture...
And it's spot on the map, it is the arrow near the southern center of the map...
You'll see a second arrow on that map, we will get to that in just a minute. For now go to the mine. Follow the path to the fork, go South. When it splits right/left, take the left path and dig by the desk for a treasure. Picture...
And the requisite map picture. It is the arrow in the southeast...
Now go back to the first fork and go North instead, follow the pipe. Go past the path to the statue and kill the Necromancer near the end of the pipe. Lockpick the chest nearby and then look for the stack of rope, dig next to it for the treasure. It is the arrow in the northwest on the map right above. Picture...
Now go to the angel statue we fixed way back in the beginning of the story, north of where you are. Kill the necromancers here and use The Passage to take the portal to the moonstone, kill the two Necromancers here. Now leave the mine and go toward town.
Once you've killed the rest of the Necromancers on the way to town (one is on the path that leads to the South part of town, might be hard to find) instead of going North into town, go Northeast into the area we fought assassins previously. Remember that treasure I told you we would get in a minute? Here it is. Dig about 10-15 feet West of the chest in this area for a treasure. Picture...

Now go into town and talk to your mother in the burnt out building. Ask her to make the dress. You now have the Nethercoat. Not really sure if they picked a dress because it's really girly or if they suddenly decided they needed fan service. I mean, spray that shit on some plate mail and call it a day, wouldn't that be even better? Anyway, go all the way back to the Inn. The road to Venice is open so take it. Before you ask YUMAKEMEGOTHROUGHWATERGATEWAY? You had to, cause that is where the fisherman was hanging out, and you need him to get to creek bay, and there was a traeasure in the waterway. Both tents on the road to Venice have a 2 lock chest for you to loot if you are still needing lockpicking experience.
Go to Arsenel Entrance via a gondolier. Take the platform up and enter the Inn. Talk to the rebels and tell them you burned the ship. Now leave and go down the stairs, at the bottom turn right and go across the big bridge. The guard will mistake you for a Portuguese delegate...for some reason. I guess the dress. Note this isn't the point of no return. In fact, you have to do some things here and then leave in order to get some achievements, which is what we are going to do. Walk forward until a guy approaches you. Claim to be tired. Ask him how to prove your integrity. Go left and enter the doorway and follow the path. Continue going South until you are stopped by a guy. After the dialog, continue South. When you go through a doorway leading West, turn left and look for a door to the council chamber.
Talk to one of them and ask about the legal note. Ask for a legal note again. Grab the scroll off the table behind them. Backtrack through the doorway and enter the door on the right. Go in the back room and turn right, look next to the bookcase for a hole in the wall. Press A on it. Now backtrack to where the guy stopped you and enter the door he is guarding. Talk to the guard inside and return to the steward. Give him the note, then tell him you've seen Lucio. Accept as there is no other way. Go back to Lucio and tell him you will lead the guards. Enter the door. Cutscene, say "Let me speak", then tell them you aren't a traitor. Tell them you need to do this to kill the Archon. Urge them to trust you. Kill the guards and then leave. Cutscene.
Find the steward and talk to him. Now go West and then South to find a lion, kill it and take its heart. Now return to the first area and go East. In the room before Lucio's is the door to the palace dungeon, enter it. Follow the path all the way to the end, where the barred door is. Talk to the rebels, then enter the center room. Kill the purple spirits here with The Passage and then go up the stairs and talk to the skeleton. Ask about the key to the prison cell. Ask again. Return to the castle. Enter the courtyard and then make Lost Love your active quest and dig at the green dot.
Return to the skeleton in the dungeon and talk to him. Say "Here she is". Open the door for the rebels. Now this is as close to the point of no return as we are getting. Return to the castle and walk back toward the entrance to the castle. Go through the door on the left and climb up the stairs. Go South to the big doors and then to the right of them. Dig near the corner for a treasure. Picture...

And the map, it is the only arrow...
Now return to the stairs you used to come up and go to the door across from them and enter it. Talk to her and loot the chest she mentions. Now you get the goddamn cliche Evil Villain dialog. Weeee. Oh wait, Liora is going to give the cliche Good Guy dialog. Sweet! After the cutscene kill the guards and go to the courtyard on the first floor. Go to the Northern part of the middle island and activate the statue. Cutscene, say you will make it all good again.
Now leave the castle, we have what we need. Go to the Arsenel catacombs. Go back to the skeleton you learned the skills from (take the first right after entering and enter the building, use The Passage and talk to him). Buy a point in both skills below Abolish Curse for the fifth circle Achievement. Then buy the skill below The Summoning for the sixth circle Achievement.
Learn the strongest skill connected to the fifth Twilight skill
Learn the strongest skill connected to the sixth Twilight skill
Talk to a gondolier and go to the Eastern villa. Go straight forward to the lion and kill it, loot its heart, then return to the gondolier and go to the Inner City. Go to the shop and turn in the quest. Pale Hearts achievement.
Continue playing to unlock this secret achievement. (Secret)
Travel to Harbor, Great Hall via a gondolier. Go up the stairs, go right, and cross the bridge to the ship leading to Africa, go there. Time to get the rest of the treasures and get a couple other achievements. First, go straight west along the coast to dig and find the first treasure, it is near a big rock that is almost in the water. A picture works best for this...
And the map picture. It is the arrow in the southwest corner. Also note that the arrow pointing to the cave northwest of the tree is where we got the Harvester previously, it is just there for completion's sake, and in case you didn't get it when I mentioned it previously, I suppose. If you got it when I mentioned it, you don't need to get it again...
Now go to tree and go straight south to the cave. Dig inside the big rib cage inside the cave to find the next treasure, it is the arrow in the middle of the map with "inside" next to it...
Now exit the cave and go back to the tree, go southeast to find a corner with the next treasure. It is the arrow right next to the cave we just entered on the map right above...
Now go straight west from where you are (you'll have to go around the cliffs to get there though) to the cave you got one of the statue pieces from. The cliffs south of it start going southeast and then turn straight south, slightly east of where it changes directions is the next treasure. It is in the shadow of a nearby rock. A picture works best here as well...
You'll get the treasure achievement if you've been following this guide.
Now go to where the boss fight was with the Queen. Talk to Gero to start the Arena. You'll need to kill 3 waves of two enemies and then one wave with 4, and a wave with 5. Use the Harvester so you get experience. Run away from them and start a combo while they are running toward you. Try to time it so they reach you as you are doing the second swing. You are invulnerable during the third swing. If you mess up run away and try again. Use blood toll/vortex to heal. It may seem cowardly, but they will beat you to death VERY quickly if you let them even think of surrounding you, and on top of that, you can't use your twilight energy to revive. Once you "die" the arena automatically ends. So you need to be very careful, hence the hit and run tactic.
All enemies in the arena defeated
Talk to the guy again and ask about the favor, then offer help. He tells you to kill the Baka King. Go Northwest from here and then cross the bridge you pass under and go North. Kill all the Baka Beasts here and then return to Gero and turn in the quest. Now fight in the arena until you are level 32. It's going take awhile...the fourth round seems to give the most experience for some reason. Once you reach level 32, you'll get Legendary Hero.
Return to Venice and save at a rogue quarter. Then go to Arsenel and return to the castle. Go to the dungeon and walk down to the rebel prison. Use The Passage. Talk to the guy in the back. Ask him who he is. Tell him Venice is a mess. Tell him the freedom is gone. He will tell you to go eavesdrop using a hole in the wall, which we've already done so talk to him again. Report the news. Say that the council has lost its authority. Then say they vote three to three. Request his help.
Return to the city council and use The Passage in the blue circle. Choose "give power to the rebels". Now exit and go to the first room in the castle, where you enter from. Use either door to enter the courtyard and then work your way South to the stairs leading up to the second floor. Walk up to the big doors and use Abolish Curse on them. Enter. Dialog. Ask him why he did it. Then say it was your free will and you will make it good. Then say And I am the one to finish it.
Boss fight time. Use Abolish Curse when standing near the doge and attack him. There are three purple spirits around, they will quickly charge you and attack you, so you need to be quick. Try to use the desk and the Doge to block the ghosts from bothering you. Try and stand so that the desk is between you and the ghosts. Victor will stop you once you empty the Doge's life bar. Run a circle around Victor and then repeat. You run in a circle so the purple ghosts lose track of you and won't bother you when you attack the Doge again. After doing it three times, you go to the twilight world.
You start far away from the Victor/Doge/Whatever. Run toward him. He will shoot a bunch of fireballs that will hurt you and knock you down. You can try rolling left and right to dogde them but this doesn't always work. I'd just suggest rolling straight forward at him, at the fireballs don't knock you down when you are rolling. Once you get close, attack him until he knocks you away. Repeat two more times and you'll be back in the real world.
Now you fight Victor. He has a sword, and can block and roll. Just combo him to death for an easy victory. Let Death kill him instead of yourself. You'll get two achievements...
Game finished without consuming any healing items
During the cutscenes you'll see Scarlet approach the throne. If you did everything right, she will walk by it, giving you another achievement...
Play and complete the game the honorable way
