There are 4 achievements in this game which require you to do some Online Work in order to get them.
The online community on this game is NOT dead however it is not very lively either. This means you have options±
- For me some fellow racers came online between 20.00 and 22.00 (EST +6) and several of them were Dutch Nationality, and ranked quite high on the leaderboards.
- Apparently this game is still big in Japan. So you might want to figure out the Japanese timezone and get online then.
- Create Boosting Sessions on trueachievements.com in order to get these achievements.
All the achievements can be done in either a Ranked or Player Match and only need 1 additional partner.
Participate in an Online Battle against a player from a different country.
Play a Ranked or a Player Match and then you will unlock this achievement!
Win 50 Online Races. Player/Ranked Matches cumulative!
Continue playing to unlock this secret achievement. (Secret)
Win 100 Online Races. Player/Ranked Matches cumulative!
Continue playing to unlock this secret achievement. (Secret)
Win 200 Online Races. Player/Ranked Matches cumulative!
If only one of you needs to get the online achievements, you need to complete 230 Online Races. The reason is because certain cars only unlock after you complete 230 online races. If you both need to boost you will need 400 Races total.
Once you have both decided who is doing what in the races, the host needs to create a Player Match on the Aviator Loop track, 1 Lap, Unlimited Nitrous, and a Special Car! Then all they need to do is invite their partner and start the race! The winner simply needs to cross the finish line first and then the loser needs to come 2nd.
I would suggest the winning person hosts a player match. The best settings are Player Match on the Aviator Loop track with 1 Lap per race, Unlimited Nitrous and a Special Car (Angelus comes to mind). While boosting this the player who joins the lobby has the option to enter spectator mode. However spectator mode can take a bit of time as the 2nd player gets an automatic 60 Second Timer until their status turns DNF. For 230 races this adds up to 230 minutes extra time. (230 minutes equals almost 4 hours.) It is probably best for both players to race together as this will build up some mileage towards the 10,000 miles achievement.
Considering the laptime is slightly over 30 seconds the additional 60 second timer from spectator mode is a real partypooper.
Once you have done a race, select the return to the lobby option and replay until both of you reach your goal.
Remember that in order for these achievements and cars to unlock you need to select the "Return To Menu" Option.
