3. Story walkthrough
The achievements that are available in this chapter are: "815", "Save the castaways" and "Crash survivor".
As you start the game you will be presented with a cutscene of you in a plane talking on the phone, after putting the phone down and having a drink the plane encounters some turbulence. Shortly after, the plane then splits in half and starts plummeting down to planet earth. You wake to find yourself in a jungle with nothing but a plane seat beside you. Follow the path and you will come across another plane seat and further down the road you will discover a body with a woman nearby. When looking at the woman, press A and a small cutscene start where the main character asks himself if he is seeing ghosts?
Continue down the path and shortly you will encounter another woman called Kate. Talk to her by pressing A. Go through all dialogues that are available. After all dialogues have been selected a flashback will start. This will provide you with the opportunity to get the "815" achievement. This achievement requires you to discover all the memories within this flashback.
During the flash back you will find yourself back on the plane. Use you camera and look towards where the man in the suit has just come from. Wait for the air hostess to hand the woman in the hand cuffs the bottle of water and then take a picture of that moment. Make sure that you are getting the two subjects and the bottle of water all in one shot. If you don't get it, don't worry as the memory will repear itself until you get it right. If done correctly, the player will then say “yes I remember now” and the flashback will change from black and white to color. Look around the area beside you and next to your feet you will discover a backpack. Press Y on it and you will see a message pop up saying "memory items found 1|3". The next item is the magazine on the chair to the left of you. Again press Y. The last item is a strip of photos and is located right beside the magazine on the arm rest to the left off you. Now that you have unlocked the "815" achievement, talk to the air hostess. The flashback will end as she goes to get you a drink.
You find yourself back in the jungle and the player is talking to himself about Kate saying that she is a convict and that she was the one in the handcuffs on the plane. Talk to Kate about the handcuffs, which at first she denies. Soon she will say that it's to be kept a secret. After talking to Kate walk past her into the jungle. You find yourself in a part of the jungle with a dog not far ahead of you. You need to follow the dog which can be a challenge since the dog can be quite fast. Hold down the RT to run while following him. However, if you lose him, press Y and the dog will come back into view.
You find yourself approaching the end of the jungle and onto a beach crowded with survivors of the plane crash. Stay as far away from the plane engine in the centre of the beach as possible. When you get to close it will blow up and restart you from a checkpoint. Head down towards the sea and look for a man in a suit performing CPR on another survivor. This is Jack. Talk to him and he will give you a task of fixing the fuse panel which is found on the end of the plane body closest to the jungle. The solution to fixing the fuse panel is displayed below.
Once the fuse panel puzzle has been completed you will unlock an achievement called “Save the castaways”. A cutscene will begin were Locke tells you good job on fixing the fuse panel but the celebration is quickly put to a halt as the plane wing snaps off and nearly kills three over survivor's. The cut scene soon ends and it is now night time on the island. After talking to Jack about how you can’t remember anything about your past look towards the sea and go as far right as possible until you can find a backpack. Press Y to examine the backpack and the chapter will come to a end, unlocking the achievement "Crash survivor".
The achievements that are available in this chapter are: "Sweet memory" and “Locate the cockpit”.
As the level begins you are presented with a cutscene reminding you of the events that happened in the previous chapter. The cutscene ends and you find yourself back on the island walking towards the sea. Suddenly you turn right and you see Jack, Kate and Charlie running out of the jungle. Charlie turns around points to the jungle and says “Monster”. Go talk to Kate and go through all the quest dialogues with her. After that is done (if you have been picking up items that you find within the jungle or on the beach) you can go and talk to Sawyer to trade them for other items. Go talk to Jack, he can be found near the entrance to the jungle. Again, go through all the quest dialogues with Jack. A cutscene begins of a woman standing beside the beach. When the cutscene ends walk towards the sea and find the woman. This will then trigger another flash back and give you the opportunity to get the "Sweet memory" achievement.
The flashback begins and you find yourself on another beach. Get your camera out and take a picture of the woman in the bikini as soon as she is posing. You are going to wait until the man on the left, the Thai Fisherman is looking at her, this is the photo that you need. After the photo another cutscene will begin displaying what has just happened but this time in color. When the cutscene ends examine the recorder that can be found on a wooden box to the left of the chair. Next, look at the chair and examine the newspaper. A box will display in the right of the screen displaying memory items found 2|3. Last, turn around and look at the chair you will find a dairy. Again press Y and the achievement "Sweet memory" will unlock. Once you have the achievement go and talk to the woman in the bikini and a cutscene will begin and the flashback will end.
After the cutscene you find yourself back on the island with your character talking to himself saying “she lied to the fisherman”. Turn around and go talk to Jack again. He can be found in the same place. Go through the new quest dialogue with Jack and a cutscene will begin were Jack is in a hurry to find someone. This leaves you with an opportunity to escape into the jungle.
As you enter the jungle Locke says to you come and talk to him. He is beside Banyan trees. The cutscene ends. Go talk to Locke and he will explain to you that he doesn't know what is in the jungle but the Banyan trees will protect you from whatever it is. After talking with Locke examine the plane debris and it will point you in the direction towards the next set of debris. Run towards it and examine it. It will again show you the direction towards the next set. Repeat this with every set of debris. If you encounter the black smoke, immediately run and take cover in the Banyan Trees until the black smoke leaves, then continue following the debris path. You will know when you are approaching the end of the debris path when a man starts shooting at you. Hold RT and run, still continuing following the debris field. Eventually a cutscene will begin where the man who was shooting you is attacked by the black smoke.
You find yourself in another part of the jungle. Don’t worry; you don’t have to face the black smoke in this part of the jungle. Follow the path and you will eventually encounter a man chopping wood. This is Michael. Talk to him and go through all of the quest dialogues with him. Eventually he will give you a lighter. If you have any items trade them with Michael because you can buy some torches and they will be very helpful for the next part. After talking with him continue along the path and into the cave. This bit is hard to explain so here is a video on how to get out of the cave. Credit to warman854.
Once you leave the cave continue along the path and enter into another part of the jungle. A cutscene will begin where you are walking towards the cockpit of the plane. Continue along the path and enter the cockpit of the plane. Walk towards the front of the plane and look behind you. You will find another fuse panel puzzle. Use the photo below to help solve the puzzle.
After the puzzle is complete find the locker that has just been opened and take the contents of the locker. Leave the plane and you will begin another cutscene. This will end the chapter and unlock the achievement “Locate the cockpit”.
The achievements that are available in this chapter are: "Behind the Glass", "Blackmailer", "4 8 15 16 23 42" and "Beam of Light"
The episode begins the same way the previous one did, but this time it will display the events of episode two. When this chapter starts you will find yourself back on the beach talking to Hurly about the others and how Jack and Kate think you're one of them. After the title goes off screen you regain control of your character. First, go and talk to Sayid. He can be found near the entrance to the forest. Go through all the quest dialogues with him. Next, talk to Locke. He is found sitting beside the camp fire. Again, use all the quest dialogues with him. Once complete, a flashback will begin allowing you to get the “Behind the glass” achievement.
When the flashback begins get your camera out and focus it so you can take a photo of the sign that says “Rico's Shop”. Once you have taken the photograph, a cutscene will start and the flashback will turn into color. As soon as the cutscene ends you will regain control of your character. There should be a recorder next to you. Press Y and a message will display in the top right of the screen saying memory items found 1|3. Just behind the recorder there is a desk with a note on it. Again press Y and the message will display again but this time 2|3. The last item can be found just left of the desk near the wall. As soon as the bottom says examine article, press Y and this will unlock the “Behind the glass” achievement. Once you have the achievement walk towards the door and a cutscene will begin were you are talking to Rico.
Once the cutscene ends you will be back on the island, talk to Locke and go through all the quest dialogues with him. He will tell you that he will give you the laptop battery but warns you that you need to stock up on supplies. Without knowing it you unlocked the “Blackmailer” achievement. Walk towards the jungle and enter it. Further along the path you will come across Locke again. He tells you to follow the tree lines and you will find the battery. Enter the jungle and begin to follow the tree lines. After following about 3 to 4 tree lines you will start getting shot at; watch out. When you find the red flag, go to the next area.
Follow the path and you will eventually come to what looks to be a silo. Locke will run and say to you “It looks like you've discovered another one of my secrets”. Walk beside the silo till you get a message in the bottom which says examine numbers. Get your camera out and take a photograph of the numbers and this will unlock the “4 8 15 16 23 42” achievement. Go and talk to Locke and again use all the quest dialogues. Once you have completed all quest dialogues with Lock, you will find yourself in another part of the jungle. Before you do anything, turn around and go back to the hatch. There will now be a beam of light emerging from the hatch. Take a photograph of the beam of light and you will unlock the “Beam of Light” achievement. Now then, go back to the previous part of jungle (the one that you just left to come back to the hatch) and follow the path. You will eventually come across Locke beside, yet another, cave entrance. Again, go through all the quest dialogues before you move on. Here is another video to help explain how to get through this cave.
After jumping down onto another part in the cave walk towards the green plants and look for what looks to be a body (could be a statue) of a woman. Press A and a cutscene will begin were “Locke” approaches you from above and asks you what you've found. He refuses to help you out of the pit you are in until you throw what you have found up at him. Eventually he helps you up and gives you the laptop battery that you were asking for. The chapter ends and you will now unlock the “Via Domus” achievement.
The achievements that are available in this chapter are: "Castaways' Treasures", "Medical Station", "Identity Crisis", "Button Pusher" and you will also be working on part of "Mapping the Island" achievement.
This episode begins with yet another cut scene displaying the events of the previous episode. The cut scene starts and you’re sitting on the beach beside the campfire until suddenly, there is a massive explosion in the jungle. After the cutscene ends and you have the opportunity to do the “Castaways Treasure” achievement. To get this achievement you need to take a photograph of the following people and items:
1. Kate's toy plane - Kate is sitting not far from you at the beginning of the level
2. Charlie's guitar - Charlie is further down the beach away from Kate, and lastly
3. Locke’s wheelchair - The wheelchair is found hidden between some vegetation near the tree line of the jungle.
After you have unlocked the “Castaways' Treasures” achievement fear not for there is another achievement up for grabs! You have to examine the following numbers in the following order, 4 8 15 16 23 42. It’s a bit difficult to explain the location of each number but by using the video below you should be able to figure out where they are.
Once examined go to the Medical Station and take a photograph of the Medical Station logo. This easily unlocks the “Medical Station” achievement. When you return back to the beach from the Medical Station head into the jungle. In the jungle use your compass to help you locate your way towards the Sawn Station. Eventually, after a while of walking through the jungle, you will encounter Desmond near the end of the jungle path. Talk to him and go through all the available quest dialogues with him. Then continue along the path to the next area. You will arrive at the swan station. Continue to walk down the path and along the side of the river until you find Sayid. Talk to him and use all the quest dialogue with him. He will tell you that you are not allowed to enter the station unless you prove who you are. Return to the beach and search for Hurley. As soon as you find him talk to him and go through all the quest dialogues. Once they have all been used a flashback will be triggered allowing you to get the “Identity Crisis” achievement.
As the flash back begins get your camera out and look towards the man at the counter. Look down at his hands and you will notice a file hidden underneath them. Wait for him to move his hands and quickly snap a photo of it. Don’t worry if you don’t get it first time (as you have probably guessed the flashback repeats if missed). After you have the photograph the flashback turns to colour and Rico asks you if you have got all you need. Turn slightly left and examine the folder. A message will then display in the right screen saying Memory Items Found 1|3. Turn around and walk towards the shelves where you will find a recorder and a letter. Examine both of these and once all items have been examined the “Identity Crisis” achievement unlocks. Return to Rico and the flashback will end with the trading of information and Elliot getting a smack in the face.
Back on the island you now know your name. Talk to Hurley again, using all the quest dialogues, and then immediately head back into the jungle towards the Swan Station. When you arrive at the Swan Station talk to Sayid and use all the quest dialogues with him. Once they have been used he will allow you access into the Swan Station. Upon entering the station the door will close behind you and a cutscene will start were Sayid shouts at you asking what did you do. He then also reminds you that if a beeping sound starts you need to find the computer and enter the following numbers into it “ 4 8 15 16 23 42” (A beeping will start so best hurry! The computer is in the big dome shaped room). After entering the correct digits, press enter and the achievement “Button Presser” will unlock. Well done!
The countdown crisis has been averted but yet you are still locked in the station. You need to fix three fuse panels in three different parts of the station. The fuse’s that are required to be found for each fuse panel puzzle can be found in the same room as the panel. The answer’s to each of the following fuse panels are displayed below.

When the fuse panel puzzles are complete return to the room with the computer. Beside the machine that has been changing the light colour you will be able to use A to activate something. Press A and the room suddenly turns blue and all the doors around you lock and, not only that, the beeping starts again. Don’t panic! One of the doors will have a glow in the dark map on it. Get your camera out and take a photo of it and a message will pop up saying “memory items found 1|3”. Return to the computer and it will ask you to enter the way home. Type in “Via domus”. You will get asked a series of questions before being allowed to enter the menu. The answers are as followed: “63” and “L”. Upon completion of the questions turn on all the UV lights and then open two of the blast doors, you will know which ones to open because as they open a cutscene will show them opening and you will see your character standing at the computer, if you open the door that doesn't show you, then close it, the memory map is on that door. Leave the computer and go back into the room which had the entrance to the laundry room and the sleeping room. You will find a map. Make sure you photograph it and get the message which shows “memory items found 2|3” before you head towards the entrance of the station, ending the level. This unlocks the “Into the hatch" achievement.
The achievements that are available in this chapter are: "Persephone", "A Turn of the Screw", "Radzinsky", "Past of Desmond", "Dharma Ride", "Slave" and "Boom Boom"
This chapter begins with a cutscene of the events from the previous episode. When the level begins you find yourself in a dark room. Equip your lighter but prepare for a fright as Lisa shows up out of nowhere. You now have control of your character as the level properly begins. Walk towards the door and talk to Kate. Go through all the available quest dialogues with her and a flashback will trigger allowing you to get the “Persephone” achievement.
You have immediate control over your character when the flashback beings. Walk towards the column behind Lisa and take a photo of the laptop in front of her. You want to position yourself to the left of the column and zoom in and focus on the screen, don't get too close as she will notice you and close the lid. After the photo has been taken a cutscene starts showing a man walking to the receptionist and enquiring about any messages. They then walk towards, and get into, the elevator as the cutscene ends. Next, walk to the desk beside Lisa and examine the letter and the folder. This will give you 2|3 memory items. The last memory item is a recorder that can be found on the desk beside the windows to the left of the guard. After examining all three items the “Persephone” achievement will unlock. Return to Lisa and talk to her. A cutscene will begin were Elliot and Lisa are now arguing with each other and then agree to work together. This will end the flashback.
When the flashback ends you find yourself back in the room with Elliot talking to himself about him being a journalist. Go and talk to Kate and use the quest dialogues with her. She will eventually let you out. Time to grab a few achievements. First, look towards Kate and above her. You will see blood markings on the roof. Take a photograph of it and this will unlock the “Radzinsky” achievement. Next, turn around and walk towards the bookshelf. You will find a book called "Radzinsky" and beside it is another book called "A Turn of the screw". Take a photograph the second book and you will unlock the “A Turn of the screw” achievement. Last, you'll need to take a photograph of the following items to unlock "Desmond's Past" achievement:
Kelvin’s jumpsuit - found on the hanger beside the washing machine
Medical cabinet - beside the table with the half moon window, and
Desmond’s painting - found at the entrance of the hatch (it is a collage of images and numbers).
Now that you have all three achievements available here, leave the hatch and walk into the waterfall. You will discover a secret tunnel to a room, but the door at the end is closed. Return to the beach and talk to Hurley using all the available quest dialogues. He explains that it can be found at the black rock, next off find Charlie and buy a gun off him as you will require it later on. Time to head back towards the hatch and into the jungle.
When in the jungle you will find a series of red flags. Use these flags to help you find your way through the jungle while also avoiding the black smoke. Don’t forget to use the Banyan trees to avoid being killed by the monster. During this part of the forest you have the opportunity to get an achievement called “Dharma Ride”. This achievement requires you to take a photograph of the Dharma van that can be found during this part of the jungle. Use the video below to help you find and photograph the van.
After leaving the part of the jungle with the black smoke, you will find yourself in another part of the jungle. Continue to move forward following the path and you will soon be attacked by a guy in the trees. Using your gun, shot him before you continue along the path. When you arrive at the ship go to the far end and pick up the dynamite and take a photograph of the skeleton that is blocking the staircase. This will unlock the “Slave” achievement. Now it’s time to return back to the waterfall. DO NOT RUN. If you run while you have the dynamite equipped you will blow yourself up. Use extreme caution when walking through the part of the jungle with the black smoke and make sure that you follow the red flags in order to make it out of the jungle safely.
When you are out of the jungle and back at the Swan station return to the secret passage that is hidden behind the waterfall. Walk to the door and use the dynamite on it. Get as far back as possible and equip the gun to shot the dynamite. This will blow up the door and give you access to the room hidden behind the door, while also unlocking the “Boom Boom” achievement. When in the room walk up to the computer and it will make you do a test. The answers to the test are as followed “8”, “R” and “493”. Upon completion of the test there will be a menu on computer screen. Use the “Neutralize Reactor” option. An ending cutscene will begin where Elliot’s compass starts to spin wildly and the terminal screen changes with a message. This unlocks the “Behind the wall” achievement and completes the chapter.
The achievements that are available in this chapter are: "Whatever It Takes", "Pearl", "Mapping the Island" (you'll finish this one) and "Showdown"
Second to last chapter; hurrah you’re nearly done! The chapter begins the same as the previous ones. Yup you guessed it! A recap of the previous episode. You’re walking in the jungle but the peace doesn't last for long. The moment you have control of your character, hold RT and run along the path, dodging any obstacles blocking your path using Y to jump and A to slide. When you reach the end of the path a cutscene will begin where Elliot is looking at the jungle and the black smoke looks Elliot right in the face. When the cutscene ends, walk towards the big metal pylons and another cutscene will begin were Elliot is approached by Juliet. The episode now begins.
Talk to Juliet and use the available quest dialogues with her. She will accuse you of killing Lisa which starts a flashback. As the flashback begins you will be approached by a woman and she is blocking you from seeing what you need to photograph. Keep your camera focused on the bodyguard that is behind her. She will eventually move, allowing you to take the photograph. You need to take the photograph when the guard is approached by Lisa and displays a gun. Just make sure that you are getting the gun, the guard and Lisa MOSTLY in the frame. The flashback will not turn to colour and another cutscene will start showing Lisa walking towards the body guard and being told that the elevator is closed. Eventually Lisa will walk away, giving you control of your character. You will need to find and examine three items. First is a diary, which is found on the desk beside Lisa. Examine it and a message will pop up saying “Memory items found 1|3”. Next is a newspaper, which can be found on the table, on the opposite side of the room, beside a series of glass windows. Examine it and you will now have 2|3 memory items. Last is a guestbook, which can be found at the receptionist table. Examine it and the “Whatever it takes” achievement will unlock. Return to Lisa and she will mention that a plan is needed to get past the guard. Talk to the guard and use the available dialogues. A cutscene will start showing Lisa being taken away and Desmond escaping into the elevator.
You're now back on the island with Desmond who is talking to himself saying that the bodyguard killed Lisa. Return to Juliet and use the quest dialogue with her. She will go and turn off the electric fence allowing you access into the next part of the island. Now we have the opportunity to get the “Pearl” achievement. Find the entrance to the Pearl station which is located to the right of where Juliet was standing down the cliff and just in front of the treeline, and take a photograph of the Pearl station logo (See the photographs below for help finding the Pearl Station). Once completed, return to the surface and talk to Juliet, using the available quest dialogues, before proceeding into the building that is beside her. Again, here is another video to guide you through the building.
Further along in the building you will have to fix a fuse panel puzzle, the answer to the puzzle is displayed below.
After you climb up the ladder leaving the basement you will find yourself in another building, walk through the building and you will hear men talking. Continue through the building and you will eventually come to a room where there is a door leading to another room. Before you enter, look towards the window and you will see a radio. Beside the radio is a map. Take a photograph of the map and you will unlock the “Mapping the island” achievement, which you had started in Episode four. You can now open up the door to the next room and shot the guy in front of you. This will unlock the “Showdown” achievement. The level ends with a cutscene where you are drugged by the others.
The achievement that is available in this chapter is: "Hero's Hero"
The level begins the same way as the last five previous episodes have; with a recap of what you did in the previous episode. When you wake up, and you find yourself locked in a room, look left and you'll find Lisa. Walk over to her and she will say “don't let it happen again Elliot”. The game title shows and the episode finally begins. Walk over to the glass and talk to Tom. Use all of the quest dialogues with him and once they're completed a flashback will begin. Sorry, no achievements for grabs this time! When the flashback begins go into the first room on the left and hide on the left side of that room. Once in the room get your camera out. You'll need to wait for the two men to enter and for them to hand the suitcase over to one another before you take the photograph. This snapshot can prove tricky, make sure you are getting the man on the right's face in the photo, not just the briefcase, if you keep failing just take the picture and keep snapping, altering it slightly. After you have taken the photograph the cut-scene will turn to color and will play-through again. (I'm not going to spoil what happens). The flashback will end once the cut-scene ends.
You find yourself back in the room that you were previously locked in. Talk to Tom and again, use all off the quest dialogues with him. When they are completed, he will leave and the door to the room that you are in will open. You are now free to roam around the station. You will need to go into a lot of rooms to find fuses before you can leave the station. Here is another youtube video (The last one I promise) explaining where you can find the fuses. Please note that the answers to the questions are as followed "44", "H", and "B".

Once the fuse panel puzzle has been completed enter the room and talk to Ben. Same as always, use all of the quest dialogues with him and once they have been completed you will find yourself back on the beach.
When you arrive back on the beach go straight forward and keep going until you come across Jack. You will find him walking down to the beach from the forest. Talk to him and use all of the quest dialogue's with him. Once completed, head into the forest towards the black rock. When you arrive at the black rock run down to the ship were you picked up the dynamite and you will find Jack standing outside the entrance to the ship. Again, talk to Jack, using all of the quest dialogues. After that head into the ship, goo up the stairs, and continue to move forward. Sooner or later you will come across another set of steps. Go up these steps and continue to move into the next room. A cut-scene will begin were Jack finds out that you have betrayed him and that Kate is being held hostage. This triggers another flashback where Elliot finds out that he wasted Lisa's life for a photograph. You will the find yourself back on the ship. Immediately stand in front of Kate and shoot the red explosive that is sitting on the table. The reason you stand in front of Kate is because the explosive shoots out two pieces of debris, one hits the guy with the gun and the other makes a path for Kate, you are sacrificing yourself for her. This will unlock the achievement “Hero's Hero”. Another cut-scene will begin where Jack and Kate are arguing about your heroic deed. They will then eventually come to a agreement to drag you somewhere safe.
You will wake to find yourself on what appears to be a cliff side and Juliet will be shaking you, prompting you to wake up. She will tell you that there is a boat at the bottom of the cliff but Ben and Tom are going to destroy it. Elliot has less than 2 minutes to make it to the bottom of the cliff, (well ideally 1 minute 35 seconds). Hold RT down and run along the path using A to jump any obstacles on the ground and Y to slide under the ones blocking your path. A cut-scene will begin showing another boat heading towards the getaway boat. Continue to run along the path, still dodging any obstacles that you might encounter. As soon as you enter the dock another cut-scene will start showing the other boat approaching the get away boat, but before anything happens, Locke will shoot it. The cut-scene ends. Now walk onto the boat and the last cut-scene will play. This ends the game and unlocks the “The way home” achievement, for an outstanding 200 gamerscore.
