3. Story walkthrough
Step 1:
From the main menu select CREATE A WRESTLER. At this point you can either make changes manually or just choose RANDOMIZE. When you back out the main menu again, you will unlock
Create any wrestler in Create A Wrestler mode.
Step 2:
Again from the main menu select GAME MODES > HEAD TO HEAD > 3-STUNT MATCH > BACKYARD FEUD
With this you'll be thrust in to the high-impact world of backyard wrestling. The first thing that happens during any normal match will be your entrance. You will be guided (as you are throughout the entire game) by a small Hulk Hogan in the lower right corner of your screen. One of the moves Hulk may have you perform is the "Listen to the Crowd" move. This is where Hulk puts one hand to his ear. You will get this move at some point in the game. I lucked out and got it in my first match. That will award
Perform the Hulk Hogan Listen pose to the crowd in the Entrance stunt.
After your entrance is complete your competitor will enter the ring. Then you get to do another entrance as PLAYER 2. That's right; you are playing both player #1 and player #2 in HEAD TO HEAD mode. Anything that either wrestler unlocks should award achievements to you.
During this fight, you should only be given the option to punch/slap/kick your opponent. Wear your opponent down and make sure the last few hits that empty his life bar are punches. This should award
Finish your opponent off with a punch in Trade Blows.
As soon as that achievement pops, run out of the view of the Kinect and you should also get
Player leaves sensor area in middle of any stunt.
If you miss this one, don't worry. You can run out of frame during ANY stunt. Now your opponent should be on the mat. You should be asked to do a few moves to soften them up a bit, then It's time to pin them. Hulk will ask you to grab downward, which will start the pin process. Then you'll have to lean a bit alternating left and right (as if you re-position your weight over your opponent). Once his health bar is depleted you'll get
Successfully pin your opponent for a 3 count in the Pin To Win stunt.
Complete an entire Head To Head match on Average Joe Difficulty.
If you performed well, you might also pick up
Earn over 100,000 points in a single stunt.
Once again you'll have ample opportunity during career mode if you miss this achievement the first time. Just do the moves Hulk does as quickly as you can.
Step 3:
From the main menu select GAMES MODES > QUICK PLAY > ENTRANCE > BACKYARD FEUD
Perform your entrance (another chance for Listen Like the Great One) and at the end you'll pop
Complete any stunt in Quick Play Mode on Average Joe Difficulty.
Step 4:
From the main menu select GAME MODES > EXHIBITION > 3-STUNT MATCH > BACKYARD FEUD
Play "follow the leader" with Hulk and pick up
Complete an entire Exhibition Mode match on Average Joe Difficulty.
Step 5:
Time to play career mode! From the main menu select GAMES MODES > CAREER
Career mode consists of playing a string of 10 matches where you repetitively do all the same things you've already done. ENTRANCE, FIGHT, PIN. There will be small changes as you progress through career mode. New moves will be introduced, the venue will change, etc. There are some achievements that can only be gotten during certain moves. If you happen to miss any of these achievements, you'll have additional chances through career mode and your second play through on HARDCORE. However you can always attempt them again via the GAMES MODES > QUICK PLAY menu too.
ENTRANCE: During this stunt (on any level except Backyard Feud) the crowd will throw trash at you. Just dodge all the trash during your entrance. Once you have successfully dodged the trash, return to your normal position quickly otherwise the next dodge may register causing you to get hit.
Complete the Entrance without getting hit by any object.
BODY SLAMS: During this stunt, you will be coached by Hulk to perform a pile driver. The move involves you lifting the AI then jumping.
Perform a piledriver in the Body Slam stunt.
IRISH WHIP: During this stunt your roles will be reversed and instead of attacking you will be on the defense. Just successfully dodge all of your opponent's attacks.
Complete the Irish Whip Stunt without getting hit by your opponent.
CHAIR SMASH: This is one of the hardest achievements in the game. If you get it on your first try, consider yourself skilled or lucky. I've only ever caught the chair ONCE in all my tries. During the stunt you will eventually knock the chair from your opponent's hands. While the chair is in the air you need to grab it. You can do this by reaching up. The timing (and the Kinect picking up your intentions) makes the achievement difficult.
Continue playing to unlock this secret achievement. (Secret)
ON THE ROPES: You will get this by progressing through the stunt. Just dodge the attacks.
Fight your way out of the corner and knock your opponent out of the ring in the On The Ropes stunt.
GRAPPLE: During this stunt you need to flip your opponent 3 times without being flipped yourself.
Flip your opponent 3 times in the Grapple stunt without ever being flipped.
CHOKE SLAM: Another achievement that should come just by finishing the stunt. You'll grab the AI in a choke hold, walk them across the mat (dodging attacks), and then throw them out of the ring.
Successfully throw your opponent out of the ring via a Choke Slam.
LADDER BASH: Don't get hit during this stunt. You only have to block via putting your arms up or down, then hitting the AI with the ladder.
Complete the Ladder Bash Stunt without getting hit by your opponent.
AERIAL ASSULT: During this stunt you are on the top rope and going to jump attack the AI. Put your arms out in front of you and jump while lined up with your opponent.
Perform a high flying splash in Aerial Assault.
When you go up against the champ you'll beat and pin him, then he jumps up from the mat and hits you. At this point you have to run the fight again. After going through every other stunt, you'll come to trade blows. During trade blows you'll find that you are unable to damage your foe. Just stand there and take the beating. Once your life bar is depleted you'll be prompted to Hulkster Up. This is story related and cannot be missed. This will award you
Win a match in Trade Blows via Hulkstering Up.
Just keep hitting the AI until you win. Then either watch or skip the end cut scene and get
Complete the Career Mode on Average Joe Difficulty.
This will unlock hardcore difficulty. Hardcore mode isn't that much more difficult. The basic changes appear to be that you do less damage, your foe does more damage, and you have less time to react. However the one stunt that seems to be considerably harder is Trade Blows. In Average Joe you can pretty much flail around and win trade blows. In Hardcore it is suggested that you take it a little more slow and steady. Block/Dodge moves and then try to counter. If you connect, try another attack. If you are blocked, stop attacking and wait for your next chance to counter. The hardest dodge to perform for me was when the AI tried to kick me. My Kinect just didn't like to pick up my jumping quick enough. If you have similar issues, perform any attack (I liked the headbutt) and the AI will generally change to another attack that can be dodged or blocked. I also found that blocking the AI punches was more effective and easier than dodging.
Step 6:
From the main menu select GAMES MODES > QUICK PLAY > IRISH WHIP > BACKYARD FEUD > HARDCORE
You'll be informed of a new move where you lift your leg out in front of you as if to kick your opponent in the stomach. Perform this move when prompted and gain the achievement
Successfully perform a Hulk Hogan "Boot" attack in The Irish Whip stunt.
Step 7:
GAME MODES > HEAD TO HEAD > 3-STUNT MATCH > BACKYARD FEUD > HARDCORE
Do what you've been doing this whole time and be awarded
Complete an entire Head To Head match on Hardcore Difficulty.
Step 8:
Finally from the main menu GAMES MODES > CAREER > HARDCORE and obtain the final achievement
Complete the Career Mode on Hardcore Difficulty.
If you are reading this line, you are either done (woot!) or skipping ahead (shame on you!). Either way I hope the walkthrough has helped in some way BROTHER!
