Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Walkthrough

3. Story walkthrough

For the first 15 achievements, we will be using the tutorial world which will make things go by a lot faster. Just watch the video by Arkonauts, or look for my walkthrough directly under if you don't want to watch the video.

So first, you need to find a tree and get 7 blocks of wood, getting us our first achievement of the game.

Punch a tree until the block of wood pops out.

After that, press X and create 28 wooden planks. Then use those wooden planks to create 20 sticks. At that point you should make a crafting table and set it by the furnace, netting us our second achievement.

Use planks and sticks to make a sword.

Now that you have an axe, use it by collecting 18 more blocks of wood, then use your pickaxe to mine 3 blocks of cobblestone behind the furnace ,and use it to make a stone pickaxe.

Now that you have a lot of stuff filling up your inventory, press Y (achievement get!) to swap the wooden pickaxe with the stone pickaxe on the quick-select.

Right behind the crafting table where we got cobblestone, we need to dig about 10 blocks deeper to find some coal and iron ore. We need a lot. After you're done with all of the mining, swap the wooden planks with cobblestone in your inventory, find the hole you used to dig down from, and hold LT+A right under it to get back to the surface.

Also, with all of this cobblestone, we need to make a second furnace for two reasons: 1.) achievement, and 2.) it doubles the amount of what we can smelt/cook simultaneously.

Hot Topic Achievement in Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition

Hot Topic16 (15)

Online/Offline - This achievement can be obtained in either an online or offline modeSingle Player - This achievement can be obtained in single player game modesCooperative - This achievement can be obtained in non-versus game modes where players work together
Construct a furnace out of eight cobblestone blocks.

Open the first furnace, and place 1 wood (not wooden planks, wood) as the ingredient and 1 coal as the fuel to create charcoal, ending the tutorial sequence. Now open the second furnace and put all of your iron ore as the ingredient and all of your remaining coal as the fuel (this is an achievement, not a tutorial).

But while that's happening, we need to remove some sand at the edge of the lake, making it touch the dirt so we can farm with it. So equip your hoe and till the land by pressing LT. After that, collect high grass until you get 6 seeds (3 for bread, 3 for cake), which may take a while, and plant them. Also, put the sand in the furnace to make some glass for the time being.

Now to the right (--->) of the crafting table/furnaces there is a lake with some fishing rods in a chest. Cast the rod, wait until it submerges briefly, and press LT again to cast it back, giving you a raw fish. Go back to the furnace where you made the glass and put the fish as the ingredient. Wait until it's done ,put the fish in your inventory, and eat it.

Now check the other furnace and if the iron smelting is done, collect all of the ingots.

For now, you need to make an iron sword and chestplate to protect yourself from the monsters when you kill them. Now would be a good time to equip your armor and clean out the inventory/quick-select to put the useless things out of quick-select. Now, use the rest of the wood to create wooden planks, and make 20 sticks with those. Wooden planks for house, and sticks for arrows. Arrows require flint, sticks, and feathers. Go flint farming around the shelter.

Flint farming is where you keep digging up gravel until one of them drops a piece of flint, usually a 10% chance with flint and gravel. Feathers drop from chickens and zombies, so you can kill some chickens in the village before it turns nighttime. Also, when you see a cow, killing it earns us yet another achievement in under 20 minutes:

Now go to the end of the village with the minecart/track and that red stuff on the ground (called Redstone Dust), we need that for a dispenser, so go ahead and hit it to make the redstone come out (there's some at the other end of the track, too). After that, we can finally go back to the village and craft as many arrows as we want.

Now it's time to finish the miner's shelter with those wooden planks (and that glass we have for windows!), so go ahead and do that quickly, as nighttime should be approaching soon. Also, create a wooden door so monsters don't sneak in at night. When it turns nighttime, pause, go into settings and turn the gamma up to 100% to make it easier to see during the night. Now it's time to go monster hunting!

To start, if we can, we need to kill a skeleton (we need bones for later on) and a few spiders (string too). After you kill your first monster, whatever it is, here's 20 more G:

One skeleton should do the trick for the bones (we need at least 1), but we need about 3 or 4 spiders since we need about 3 pieces of string or so. Start hunting! By the way, if you see a creeper, hit and run. Once the area is clear of threats, craft a bow using the sticks and string you acquired. If you find a creeper kill it with the bow. You'll get an avatar award if you want that, but if you don't, stay at the crafting table and make a dispenser with the redstone and cobblestone...

Also, you need to create some bonemeal with the bones, so do that and use it on the wheat to make it grow instantly. Once you have the wheat, make bread in the crafting table for our 15th achievement and the end of the quick achievement speedrun.

From here on out, the last 5 achievements will take a lot of work (or a friend's world and help, either way). So get a friend and get ready for one heck of a ride (literally, On A Rail!).
