3. Story walkthrough
This page will explain to you the best way in earning all of the achievements in this game. It will also mention if the achievements can be done in Single Player or Co-Op, also if there are Hit & Miss Achievements. There are YouTube Videos as well in this Walkthrough which can give an idea into successfully earning the achievements in this game. Credit for the YouTube Videos goes to achievementPredator & dogmd7.
You are probably going to have to do at least 4 - 6 playthroughs in order to get a full 200G in this game. There are achievements in this game which are hit & miss, so if you miss your chance in getting the achievement, you will have to restart a new game from Level 1. Expect to spend a little bit of time on this game.
First Playthrough
Since this will be your first playthrough, my suggestion would be just to have a playthrough on this game, memorize the levels, understand the gameplay, and remember where the enemies appear! Whilst you are doing this, you will also go for some odd achievements in this playthrough as well...
Each time you defeat an enemy or a boss, or complete level, you will get points. This achievement requires you to get a total of 20,000+ Points, and you will most likely get this by the time you complete the 2nd Level.
This achievement can be done in Single Player or in Co-Op!
Kill two enemies with a single stick of dynamite in a single player game.
Despite its difficulty, if you time it right, you can earn this achievement at the beginning part of the 2nd Level. You will have 2 - 3 enemies who will throw Dynamite Sticks. If you lure two onto the dynamite before it explodes it should successfully kill both of them, allowing you to pop this achievement. A video below will give you an example.
This achievement must be done in Single Player!
Pick up a whip, a bat, a knife, a drum, a carton, a stick of dynamite, and a rock.
This is a playthrough I would recommend you get this achievement out of the way. You simply need to find and grab the weapons it lists. You don't have to beat enemies with them, you just need to hold onto them for a couple of seconds in order for it to count.
Knives and Whips can only be obtained if you eliminate the enemy that holds one as well. A Dynamite must be grabbed for a moment or two, and then thrown in order for it to count towards the achievement. You should have this done by the time you reach the 3rd Level.
This achievement can be done in Single Player or in Co-Op!
Pass the bridge in mission 3 without falling in the water.
In the 3rd Level of the game there is a broken bridge with water underneath it. To pass it you must jump over it. If you jump over it and reach the other side of the bridge without falling in the water, you will unlock this achievement. It sounds easy, but it can be a little bit difficult because there is a Giant Thug nearby. If you fail to jump, you will fall in the water and loose a life.
When I did this one, the Giant Thug gave me a Suplex and I fell into the water, which cost me a life and the achievement. So make sure you cross over and eliminate the enemies there to guarantee that the achievement will pop. I have provided a video that will show you what to do...
This is a hit and miss achievement. Mess up and you will have to restart the game!
This achievement can be done in Single Player or in Co-Op!
Avoid the wall traps in mission 4.
At the start of Level 4 you will have a passage to cross which contains traps. These consist of Sliding Brick Walls and Spikes. If you can pass the traps without getting hit or losing a life, you will earn the achievement. This is not an easy achievement to do and will require skill and luck in order to get it. Use jumping

If you can pass the traps without getting hit or losing a life, you will earn the achievement. This is not an easy achievement to do and will require skill and luck in order to get it. Use jumping manoeuvres when needed. According to the video below, it seems that if you play Co-Op if only one of you manages to avoid the traps, you will both be given credit towards the achievement.
This is a hit and miss achievement. Mess up and you will have to restart the game!
This achievement can be done in Single Player or in Co-Op!
Second Playthrough
Complete mission 1 in a single player game without being hit.
This is the only achievement you will be going for in this playthrough, because you will probably have to restart the game again in order to successfully get it. You will need to complete Level 1 without getting hit by an enemy. This includes bosses and weapon hits as well. The best way into getting this achievement is to move slowly throughout the level, allowing only one or two enemies to appear on the screen at a time, as well as spamming the Elbow Bash. By doing this, your chances in getting this achievement will be more possible. Watch out for enemies which are holding weapons, especially knives and the Giant Enemies. A knife is sometimes a handy weapon, but don't use it unless you know what you are doing. The video below shows the player doing the level successfully.
This is a hit and miss achievement. Mess up and you will have to restart the game!
This achievement must be done in Single Player!
Third Playthrough
You will now need to do a full playthrough to get 2 achievements. Both of these achievements can only be done in Single Player.
Complete a single player game without using any object.
This achievement simply requires you to not pickup a weapon throughout the 4 Levels you play in the game. Again, it sounds simple, but it can be annoying because if you accidently pick up a weapon throughout the game, it will disable the achievement and you will then have to start over from the beginning. The only way you can guarantee you will get this achievement is to simply keep your distance from a dropped weapon. For instance, if a weapon is at the top left of the screen, ensure your player is down the right/middle area of the screen.
This is a hit and miss achievement. Mess up and you will have to restart the game!
This achievement must be done in Single Player!
Take out all the enemies before the final boss in a single player game.
At the same time you will also go for this achievement. This one requires you to defeat every enemy in the game, including bosses. The best way into unlocking this achievement is to lure every enemy one by one so that you don't miss them out, and use the Elbow Bash. This is strongly suggested in Level 4 during the final boss scene. It will make the game laggy, because of the amount of enemies that appear, so don't worry if this happens to you.
Make sure you save the final boss until last and defeat all of the other enemies in the game, because if you defeat him before his guards, the guards will flee and you will disable this achievement.
You can use as many continues as you like in this playthrough. Continues in the game do not affect the achievements.
This is a hit and miss achievement. Mess up and you will have to restart the game!
This achievement must be done in Single Player!
Fourth Playthrough
This will be your last playthrough in single player. You will now be going for the hardest achievement among all of them, which is the "Hero" Achievement.
Complete a single player game without continues.
Before you start this playthrough, make sure the game is still set to the Easiest Difficulty and the Lowest Score to get an Extra Life. Now play through the game and perform the same trick as what you did before, in which you lure the enemies one by one and keep on spamming the Elbow Bash. Try not to make yourself into a punching bag, because that's trouble.
If you loose all of your lives, start from scratch. When you get to the final boss, focus on him and take him out quick because as noted before, if you successfully beat him, his guards will flee. Watch out for his gun though, if a bullet hits you, it's an instant death and you will loose a life!
This is a hit and miss achievement. Mess up and you will have to restart the game!
This achievement must be done in Single Player!
Online
This will be the hardest step to do, because the fact that this game is unavailable and getting old, finding a partner for this game won't be easy. If you are having a hard time finding a partner, consider creating some Boosting Sessions on the site!
There are 2 online achievements in this game, but in reality you are going for 3, since one of them is much easier to accquire if you play Co-Op. Once you've got your partner, the host needs to set up a private game and invite their partner to join the lobby. At the same time, they also need to ensure the game is set to the Easiest Difficulty and with the lowest score to get an extra life!
You will both need to do approximately 2 - 3 full playthroughs in order to get all 3 achievements together. The boosting overall should take about 1 - 3 hours, so it doesn't cost you an arm or a leg!
Finish mission 3 holding a baseball bat.
You will both need to negotiate to each other as to which one of you is getting this achievement first. Once decided, playthrough until you reach Level 3. When you reach Level 3, you will see an enemy holding a "Baseball Bat". This is the only enemy that has that weapon in the Level. Defeat him, and one of you quickly grab and hold the weapon. Do not let the weapon go off-screen or it will disappear and you will both have to do a New Playthrough. Team up, and get the person who doesn't have the Baseball Bat to do most of the fighting. When you defeat the boss in this level, one of you must make sure you are holding the Baseball Bat in order for the achievement to successfully pop. This video gives you an idea of what to do in the last 1/4 of the level. When you have successfully finished the game, make sure the 2nd player gets this achievement on the next playthrough.
This is a hit and miss achievement. Mess up and you will have to restart the game!
This achievement can be done in Single Player or in Co-Op!
Reach mission 4 in a co-op game without continues.
At the same time you are also going for this achievement, which requires you to reach the 4th Level without using a Continue. This means neither of you must loose all of your lives. If one of you requires a Continue, you must restart the game from Level 1. Again, the best way to get this achievement is to use your Elbow Bash manover!
This is a hit and miss achievement. Mess up and you will have to restart the game!
This achievement must be done in Co-Op!
Beat the other player at the end of a co-op game.
Finally, when you defeat the final boss in co-op, you will both be placed in a 1-on-1 duel against each other. Whoever wins get Marian. Negoiate between the two of you as to who's going for the win, and then allow one of you to defeat the other person. Once they have been defeated, the survivor gets the girl and the achievement (under the same name). Play through the game again to allow the other person to get the achievement!
This achievement must be done in Co-Op!
Conclusion
This game isn't a very hard 200G overall , but it can take a while to complete and it can get laggy on occasions, due to the amount of enemies and items which can be placed in one scene. Your biggest problem is finding an online boosting partner, since this game is old and de-listed. Congrats if you've unlocked all 200G!
