3. Story walkthrough

And now we start the real fun! Here is the fastest way to unlock all of those achievements!

Start the game, and you'll enter into the Main Menu. You can scroll to the right to cycle through the Level Select screen, the Achievement screen, the leaderboards screen, and the Help + Options screen. Of those screens, you'll probably go directly from the Main Menu into the level you're currently working on. Later, you'll probably spend a lot of time on the Level Select screen, as it shows you which Gold Trophies you have on each level.

For the purposes of this walkthrough, I'm going to assume that you want to get the most achievements possible in the shortest time. In order to do that, you need to get the Gold Medal for time the first time you play each level. If you don't actually get it on your first try, you can come back and get it after you beat the level pack (1-25, 26-50, 51-75).

To start, jump into the first level by simply touching the first level in the upper right corner of the screen. The first five levels are super simple because the correct gear configuration is shown in the background image for the level. Follow the recommendations for the placement of the gears on those first five levels, and you'll unlock your first achievement. Here is the gear and Gold Medal information for the first five levels:

Beginners Luck10 (10)

Complete all tutorial levels (1 to 5).

On the sixth level, you will need to pick up a gear that will cause two other gears to fall. Fortunately, there's an achievement for that. After you beat the level to get the Gold Medal for the time target, replay the level. Press the reset button twice (the reset button is located in the lower right corner of the screen). Another achievement unlocked!

Take Cover!5 (5)

Cause two gears to fall simultaneously.

• Unlocked by 1,012 tracked gamers (100% - TA Ratio = 1.00) 1,017

Do-Over5 (5)

Reset a level twice.

• Unlocked by 985 tracked gamers (97% - TA Ratio = 1.02) 1,017

Levels 6-25 are slightly harder than 1-5 because the answers aren't in the background image for the level. However, if you get stuck, you can always look for the correct layout here: http://revolutionwp7.4shared.com/

As you cruise through levels 6-25, you will unlock a number of achievements. Remember, if you didn't get the Gold Medal for time on every level, go back and do it now that you've completed the first 25. Here is the gear and Gold Medal information for levels 6-25:

Move 50 gears.

Complete level pack one. Levels 1 to 25.

Forty-Niner5 (5)

Earn 50 gold medals.

• Unlocked by 897 tracked gamers (88% - TA Ratio = 1.06) 1,017

You can also see the comment on level 24 to Save Some for Dinner. You can get an achievement here by not using every gear that you're given.

Save Some For Dinner6 (5)

Solve a level with a gold gear left over.

• Unlocked by 803 tracked gamers (79% - TA Ratio = 1.12) 1,017

Keep working through levels 26-50. Again, get the time medal on the first try, and then come back and get the Gold Medal for the fewest moves. Remember, if you get stuck, you can always look for the correct layout here: http://revolutionwp7.4shared.com/

Level 28 is the first level that has more than 5 gears for you to place. That means you can unlock another achievement. Stack the gears on top of one another so you can pull out the bottom gear. When you pull out that bottom gear, the top 6 will all fall, which will unlock an achievement.

The Sky is Falling7 (5)

Cause five gears to fall simultaneously.

Earn 200 gold medals.

You would also earn this achievement, if it weren't for the glitch on the Gold Medal for level 47:

Empty Fort Knox0 (20)

Earn 225 gold medals.

Assuming that you got the Gold Medals for each level, you would also have gotten the following two achievement. If you get all of the gold Medals, you will have completed the game in no more than 29 minutes and 45 seconds (counted by the sum of your best times on each level). Also, the maximum number of moves it took you was 354 (again, sum of the fewest moves on each level).

Fast Mover31 (15)

Complete the game in under one hour.

• Unlocked by 244 tracked gamers (24% - TA Ratio = 2.04) 1,017

Precision35 (15)

Complete the game in 400 moves or less.

• Unlocked by 187 tracked gamers (18% - TA Ratio = 2.33) 1,017

Now, to complete the game and get all of the achievements, you need to complete a few more tasks. For starters, you may have already gotten this one during your previous play through, depending on the way you placed your gears (carefully or not). If you don't have this, simply load up a level, place a gear, and repeatedly pick it up and drop it again. Each drop will increment your number of moves. Do this a total of 1250 times, and you'll unlock this achievement:

Mover and a Shaker13 (10)

Move 1250 gears.

• Unlocked by 645 tracked gamers (63% - TA Ratio = 1.26) 1,017

Finally, you need to jam some gears. You accomplish this by putting gears in a configuration that gets gears spinning in opposite directions. You should be able to get both of these achievements at the same time by jamming all gears in a level when there are at least three gears. Level 30 is a great place to do this. Here is a picture to show you how:

Jam every gear in a level.

By far, the hardest achievement to get is the final one. Actually, if you have the right set of friends, it won't take you long at all, but if your friends don't play Revolution, you need to find some new friends. Literally. You need to add at least 5 friends who have played Revolution and had their score uploaded to the leaderboards. Once you do that, you need to go to the Leaderboards screen from the main menu.
