I'm happy with what I have. Shutting servers always happens, it won't affect me that much. As for games, I have enough to keep me going plus there will be used copies.

Plus I don't have a TV so are these apps going to make me need one, even if I don't watch it? Don't get me wrong, fair play to those that like it, but I'm not a fan.

I will get as much out of the 360 as possible before I even consider next-gen. It is built more for TV instead of games, which is a stupid move for a 'games' console.

In a way, I'm quite glad I wasn't wowed by it. Means I won't be as disappointed when I can't afford it.

I agree with the original comments Stacey. I've had 5 emails from different shopping companies today asking me for 400 to buy one.

I have a proper device for apps, i.e. an iPad. That is all.

So do I but nobody is making you use the apps I would rather watch on my 50 inch tv than a little handheld screen

I think Sony has to be doing it cause the publishers are gonna demand it. If PS4 doesn't require it though, I think the Xbox one will be Dead On Arrivial.

The info today has been liberating. It means my achievement hunting days will soon be over. I will retire this tag in a year or two

Sony is a viable alternative even if they go a similar route as long as they keep playstation plus and it's free games which is a huge value over Gold.

It shouldn't be the case that we the gamer have to choose between a group of disappointing options in this day and age.

I disagree Majin. If sony goes a similar route I will say no to both of them and just stick with my 360. I refuse to be held hostage to fees to play used games

For now I'm not convinced completely because I've only really seen about the entertainment side of the console which is my LEAST favorite part so E3 will help me decide.

It's also understandable they don't give much w/the gaming side of things until E3. So for now neither consoles interest me until then.
