Only the lead controller will get this achievement. That being said, 44 songs is a lot for two people to play twice. Also, since you can't get this online, it's can be a bit of a pain to find someone willing to come over to do it.

The good news is that you can get this by yourself.

First, clear your cache. (My Xbox => Memory => Hard Drive, press Y for options, and clear the cache.) All this does is delete your game updates, it doesn't touch your game saves or gamer data. So yes, when you play other games later, you'll have to update them to play them.

You have to clear the cache first because later updates have kept the No Fail cheat from letting you get this achievement.

Second, turn on the No Fail cheat code. Go to Options, Cheats, and enter the following: GR, B, GR, GY, B, GY, RY, O, RY, GY, Y, GY, GR.

Third, set up your two guitars. In fact, you don't even need guitars. Regular controllers will work. Your main tag should be player one (just in case... I'm not sure). If you're going for the Guitar Wizard or Back Up Hero, make sure that you play EVERY song on either lead or bass/rhythm.

Fourth, just go through every song on the list. You don't have to play, just keep pressing the green button to go on to the next song. You also have to play all the songs after the career. You don't need to play the bonus songs, but you do need to play all the unlocked songs.

Fifth, you must turn off the No Fail cheat, and go back into co-op mode. Fail the first song (which lets the game know that the cheats are off). Since all the other songs are complete, it will pop.

    Sixth, profit!

Edit: I'm including a link to a video that shows that you don't need to play any of the songs, and all the songs have no score. All credit to d1mebagdarrell, who posted the video.

Senior ChuponAny idea if the same concept of clearing cache and using no fail can be used on the solo-career related achievements? Ones like:

    Hendrix Reborn
    Medium Rare
    Easy Rider
    Always Hard
    Right Hand of God
    Solo Career
    Buy a Guitar Already

NighthawkJoVAnswered my own question: YES, you can go back online, download the update and THEN fail a song to get Back Up Hero/Guitar Wizard and That's What Friends Are For so they show up as online achievements.

select co-op career from the main screen. you need 2 local players to do this. Play through and try to five star everything for the easy-expert 5 star all songs co-op achs. to unlock you only need to beat enough songs to complete a career, not all the songs.

troyoyI noticed something similar on this game and another old GH game. When you log in a second gold account as player two it then gives control to player 2 like he is now player one. It might even unlog the first player and make him a guest, I had that happen too. Safer to just log in a guest for player two.

I don’t like straight up cheating for achievements. So anyway.
Since It’s rather a pain to get someone to play with me locally these days, I did this by myself.
I used 2 standard 360 controllers(not guitars), 1 for each hand, and played through on Easy for both “players”. I’m normally an ‘Expert’ player, so playing Easy wasn’t really bad, you just need a good rhythm, very similar to playing drums. But at least half the time similar notes are playing at the same time(especially on Easy), so it’s not bad. But getting all 5 stars seemed impossible for some of the songs(I didn’t really bother with that achievement for now).
ALSO, if you’re only going for this “That's What Friends Are For” achievement, you only need to play the first 30 songs to unlock the achievement. The rest “unlocked songs”(not the bonus songs you buy) are left for you to play if you want to get the other co-op achievements. But Also again, I was on Easy and each encore unlock after 3 songs, so you MIGHT be able to unlock this achievement without playing all 30 songs, but for me I’d quit the encore and finish the final track in the venue before playing the encore, so I’m not 100% sure.
Also, I didn’t realize that Paint It Back is not available for Co-op play, and it’s not a error, that was the developers decision.
