How to unlock the Mini Mayhem achievement

First things first.. unlock the minikit detector by finding the red power brick in the level "Betrayal Over Bespin" , buy it from the cantina for 250k studs, then switch it on in the extras menu. If you can't find the brick, check the guide below for more info.

If there's still some minikits you can't find, I found this guide really helpful for finding anything that was missing from the game. It is written for the Wii version but I was still able to find everything for it.

Only smallish glitch I found was the minikit in Secret Plans on the ramp but this solution in the xbox.com forums fixed it up for me: http://forums.xbox.com/16724785/ShowPost.aspx

SaltyLiLB78I was having the same problem as beets101 was having dropping the character into the pit in cloud city, but when I picked up one of the storm troopers from across where you go to the next part of the level and drop him in I got the mini kit.

Helpful Hint for Freeplay Mode - While not a guide for this achievement as such it'll simplify and streamline this achievement.
Beat every level on story mode to start with which will unlock 4-LOM for purchase (buy him asap). Make sure you have him and Darth Vader in your party when in Free Play mode. Why? To save a LOT of switching between characters.

4-LOM - Can open Bounty Hunter (Boba Fett), Astromech (R2-D2) and Protocol (C-3PO) doors, can grapple, isn't a bad blaster character (with dodge ability) and can throw Bounty Hunter mines.

Darth Vader - Can manipulate both types of Force, throw levers/switches, constructs build-its and can open Imperial (Stormtrooper) and Sith (Darth Vader) doors .

Between these 2 characters the only things missing are access to shortie passages (like Wicket), the ability to jump really high (like Jar-Jar) and R2-D2's thruster ability and the game will include someone to fill these gaps for you anyway. The only real downside is that Jawas will zap 4-LOM and render him motionless for a few seconds but that only applies to a couple levels anyway so it's not too bad.

CREDIT - a mate of mine who doesn't play online cry, couldn't give a damn about achievements facepalm and isn't even registered with TA angry

While the other solution posted by Cinnyis is rather helpful, I found it MUCH easier to obtain the Minikits using video guides from this person: http://www.youtube.com/user/360AGCollectibles

It's very simple to get all of the Minikits by following these videos, but you will need to have unlocked/bought certain characters from the store to access certain areas in which the Minikits are located. It's also probably a good idea to buy the Minikit Detector as Cinnyis already stated.
