You must kill 4,000 foes to unlock this achievement. It can be done in any mode (co-op/single/Xbox live/local play) on any difficulty.

Please note you must do all 4,000 kills on one campaign/save. You can NOT do 3,000 kills on easy and do 1,000 kills on hard.

If you have NPC players I would suggest killing them off (by playing them and jumping off a ledge) or set the team to defensive mode.

The two best way to grind out this achievement is:

    1. Mephisto's Realm mission (you can mission select it or once you get to it during regular play). Once in Mephisto's Realm there will be five areas that contain five "puzzles". We want the one closest to the Extraction Point. To make sure your in the right place the Book of Majernik says "Thy way shall be lit by the flames of impure soles". From there you can kill as many enemies as you want as long as you don't toss them into the lake of fire in the middle. Also note you can toss the enemies off the outer sides to work towards your Widowmaker achievement.

    2. You can do this on the simulation disc with Asgard as the map. So you will be picking a versus mission like Ulik, Piledriver, or Crimson Dynamo. The asgard maps have unlimited respawns and there is NO REASON to kill off the main boss (unless you have not completed the disc yet). That's right all your kills towards your 4,000 kills, 500 enemies off a ledge, and kills towards costumes are saved even after the fail of the mission. So you can spend all 20 minutes killing and not worrying about taking out the main boss. Also note you can toss enemies off the ledge when you get to the bridge part to work on Widowmaker achievement however not everyone can toss enemies over the bridge's wall but I know stronger hero's like Hulk, Colossus, or Wolverine can.

On your journeys to unlocking The Ultimate Super Hero achievement you will unlock (if you have not already):

Darkness727420I know this game is dated, but I played through on normal then transferred my stats to my easy playthrough and got throw 500 enemy's off a ledge. I had done most of those on my normal playthrough. So they do carry over but only from normal/hard to easy.

Darkness727420I just got it. There is no way kills DO NOT carry over. THEY DO carry over

I just wanted to note that your kills do in fact carry over to your hard play through. It unlocked for me in act 1 of my hard play through. No grinding required.

To also add to the great guide above, another excellent place to get kills is load up chapter Sepulcher.

Easiest way to do this one is to plug in your second player and do co'op so you get rid of the other two players. Then just jump off the ledge with the second controller.

Simply just walk through Sepulcher as there easily 100 enemies alone on this level and takes minutes to walk through, they will often respawn as well so keep walking round.

On this level aswell the whole map has ledgers so nearly every part of the level theres large ledges to throw enemies off which you should do toward your throw 500 enemies off ledges (Widowmaker) achievement.

Then just simply walk through the level killing all the enemies until you get to the next portal, once through that portal turn around and go back through it which will take you back to the start of Sepulcher where the save point is. Just save the game and then quit and then reload your game again and all the enemies should return.

Just keep doing this and eventually once you get 4000 kills the achievement will pop, remember as well kills you've gotten through your play through will all tally up towards this achievement.

Darkness727420I thought this was genius, but long story short. It worked for a little bit but then only 2 enemies we're spawning. Not worth it.

Darkness727420I am going to leave this upvoted.

It's screwy as with everything else in this game. I'm getting 175 kills for the costumes. So it'll work for about a character and a half ( get all costumes for one and 2 for another) before it'll stop spawning enemies. But I progressed in the story, got through a couple acts and went back. Everything respawned, and it worked for how long I said above. I'm not sure what triggers it to work again, maybe timed or just kill enemies in another area. ??? I don't really know. But yeah it works, it's just not a fluid as I'd hoped.
