  I would recommend to use the LB & RB to move directions fast . Then , use the machine gun to take down the missiles ... do not overheat it or it will be disabled , until it cools down . Use missiles when , nene is not attacking .
  
  Can be a simple achievement , if you followed those guidelines .

  First off you must play normal mode, not easy.
  
  Shoot your machine guns in short bursts to shoot down his missiles, while hitting him with your own. If you run out of missiles, you should be getting more from shooting his down. If not, fire at him with short bursts on your machine gun, leaving enough heat left over on your meter to not overheat defending yourself.
  
  Play it careful and you will eventually down him without taking a single hit, and gaining the achievement.

  If you are wondering "easy or normal! Where was I supposed to set that?!", relax. At the beginning of the mechat mini-game you will be asked if you want to play the mini-game on easy or normal.

  Follow Nahbien's solution, but when you are fairly certain the next missile or two will destroy Nene's ship, wait until there are no missiles or mines headed for you and then launch your missiles. This is because as soon as Nene's ship is destroyed, your controls will lock for about three seconds during the transition to the cut scene. In the meantime, missiles in the air from Nene are still heading towards you and might very well hit you before you actually finish the stage.
  
  One final tip: you can fire multiple missiles at once, just hold down the Lock-On button and move the reticle (target symbol) over Nene's ship back and forth. Usually you will have multiple locks at once.
