There is a ranking system as you go through the career mode. Rookie is the bottom rank of career mode. You gain ranks as you go through game play in the career. The rookie rank should come very early on.

To become a rookie you need to:
-Participate in 2 Minor Tournaments
-Win 1 Minor Tournament
-Have more than 5,000 fans
