I'm not a pinball wizard by any means but will try to explain this as good as I possibly can.

The objective is to complete the 4 Main missions to be able to start the Wizard mode and complete it. What makes it hard? How the missions are built up and the confusion that may come along with it. The missions themselves are fairly simple followed by a very simple Wizard mode.

I want to point out that all these missions have 1-3 steps to get through before you actually get to the real mission each step requires you to shoot the same ramp/hole again to start next. But all you really need to know is where the actual missions start and keep going at it until you reach the "real ones". You can work on different missions if you want you won't lose progress towards the main mission by activating another.
The actual main missions are started when the mission hole (located in the middle of the table and is easy hit from both flippers) is lit up with very noticable red graphics, as well as the mission name on the table is lit up.

The left ramp, really big hard to miss and easy to get with both flippers. This one have 2 steps before you get to the actual mission.
-1 "Sample" which is obvious once it starts hit the Red spots so the crane lifts the ball up 5 times. Progress stays so if you managed 3/5 and fail you start with 3/5 next time.
-2 "Ignition" Where you first shoot the mission hole followed by shooting 3 ramps.

-Main mission "Sunstorm" Is a timed mode where every 10 seconds it picks a side of the table for you to shoot at; 4 targets on the left side and 4 targets on the right side. you only need to hit one target on each side every turn so not too hard if you breathe and focus a little bit on your aim. All 4 targets are active each turn so you can hit the same one several times. If you fail just restart it and try again you don't have to redo the pre-missions.

Started by using the Top Right flipper to go in under the left ramp. There are 3 levels to do before getting to the main mission but they are all 3 the same.
-1-3 "Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3" After hitting the ramp both orbits will lit up and a little edge over the bumpers will fall down so shooting the orbits causes the ball to fall down to the bumpers, but you can also hit the bumpers by using the top right flipper and other ways to get it in there. You need to hit the bumpers 10 times per level and after doing it 3 times the ever so awesome mission hole is red out of love again.

-Main mission "Pyramid" is a 3 ball multiball mode which require you to hit 6 targets; all 4 MARS letters on the left side of the table as well as 2 targets on the right just below the top right flipper as well as hitting 6 ramps/orbits. The 6 ramps/orbits are easy enough while the other 6 targets are frustrating and get even worse when not all of them are "active" to get hit at the same time. You will se which ones are by them blinking and these change every now and then. All of these can be hit from the flippers but the MA letters in MARS are very hard to do so with and i've only managed to do it with high speed balls not from having them resting on the right flipper. Just keeping the balls in game for as long as possible usually pays of and they knock into eachother here and there and will net you some letters randomly. After hitting all 6 targets you need to lock the remaining balls by shooting them into the pyramid ramp (The one from the top right flippers). While this is the hardest part of table don't worry if you lose 2 balls and the mode ends the mission hole lights red again and you can just shoot it up there and you can have another go as many times as you want..

Completing the Pyramid main mission also gives you the achievement
Pinball FX2 (Xbox 360)ArchaeologistThe Archaeologist achievement in Pinball FX2 (Xbox 360) worth 113 pointsDeactivate the Pyramid defense system on Mars! (Single player only)

This is the hole that is located directly to the left of the right ramp, this can be hit from both flippers but i would say easier from the left one.
-1 "Scan" which requires you to hit different ramps not very hard.
-2 "Recharge" 4 targets light up, 3 ramps and the satellite hole which you hit to start it all. The goal here is to hit to correct ramp out of them so keep shooting til you hit the correct one.
-3 "Dock" is about locking 3 balls into the satellte hole which you should be used to hitting by now. This is done 1 ball at a time, so first hit the Satelite hole after hitting it a timer with 20 seconds start and you have to hit the hole again. If you miss just activate the 20 seconds again it doesn't matter if you fail after docking a ball or two progress stays. After you dock all 3 balls are docked the lovely mission hole is red again.

-Main mission "Satellite" mission is a 4 ball multiball mode which require you to hit 6 out of 7 targets without losing more than 2 balls. Targets are both orbits the left and right ramp the satelite hole and the little ramp of the left of the satelite hole and the ramp you hit from the top right flipper to activate the pyramid missions. While this isn't very hard in itself it is a little bit annoying cause if you lose 3 balls or all 4 you lose all progress on the satellite missions and you have to start from scan again. This is the only time pre-wizard mode this happens.

This is started by shooting up the Right ramp and only have 1 mini mission before the actual mission.
-1 "Spider Scan" Very similar to sunstorms sample it's timed and you are to hit 5 targets on the middle of the table only this time there isn't a crane to lift it up the ball just keeps going wherever it was headed, just like with sample progress stays if you fail.

-Main mission "Refuel" is fairly simple you will have 2 ramps/orbits light up which you should hit, they change every 8 seconds so if you find the current 2 shots hard just wait for the next 2. After you hit one of the two you are to sink the ball into the mission hole which will be light up with a blue arrow. repeat this 3 times.

Finally it's Wizard mode time and if you've reached this far don't worry, if you can keep your cool this is one of the easiest wizard modes out there. Just like with Spider scan from the refuel mission you will have a target from the middle of the table you should get the ball to pass over, after you hit it you have 30 seconds to hit the ball into the mission hole which is quite some time seeing how easily it is to hit that hole. This needs to be repeated 6 times. Sounds easy right? not only that it actually becomes easier. The 3 first times you do this another ball will come into play so if you can keep the balls active your only focus really have to be to hit the mission hole cause with up to 4 balls flying around without a doubt you'll hit a "scan" spot. If you lose balls just take it easy with the one ball you have and you have nothing to worry about. Failing the Wizard mode will reset all progress and you have to start all over again.

My first guide so sorry if it's messy and even a bit hard to follow also english isn't my first language which doesn't help. But i hope you find this info usefull and just ask if you wonder anything or want to correct anything i've written.
